I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant run like a well oil machine in the way this one does. They have the dino experience, down to a science. The line may look intimidating, however, it moves extremely quickly, and you'll be eating in no time. From standing in the line to sitting with maybe about 15 to 20 minutes total and I definitely think the hot air outside exaggerated the time. Yet, once we were inside the cool air, and the amazing smell made the wait desirable. Ordering a simple, you go up and you just say what meat you want and the number of tacos. I got three including brisket, steak, and al pastor. Those come with radishes, cucumbers, lime, and lots of cilantro and onion, of course. As you're standing in line, server will come by to ask if you want any drinks and prep a table for you we got a lemonade, a large one to share. Which was five dollars, and a refill will come at the cost of $1.08. There's a lot of meat in these tacos, while I got three, I only made my way through two sadly because I wanted to finish them all. The salsa you'll get at your table are two different types of green and a red one. The red one is hotter, but the green still has hints of heat. Both are delicious, but I could only manage to slather the green one on my food. At the end of your meal, you'll go up and pay at the counter by telling them how many tacos you had and that's it. There's tons of parking available, while the lights on the side may look busy they actually own the building next-door and all the parking in the back is available to utilize. If you're in San Antonio for any reason, I definitely recommend to stop here. This was the highlight of my trip. Despite the fact, I don't know if I'll return to the city. read more

Now as someone who travels to Mexico several times a year, I don't hand out compliments like this lightly - the tacos here are absolutely on par with some of the best taquerías I've had in CDMX and throughout Mexico. The flavors are incredibly authentic. You can tell they focus on doing a few things exceptionally well, instead of trying to be everything to everyone. Beyond the food, the service is outstanding. I had the pleasure of getting here for Taco Tuesday and for a Thursday when I wanted more. In terms of tacos, this is as authentic as Mexican street food gets. As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. Basically, the menu is on the window ordering counter- several proteins to choose from - one side listed in Spanish, the other English. The servers can help place your orders, obtain your drinks, seat you, and get anything you need. All orders come as a plate of 6 street tacos of your choice. I ordered 2 bistek, 2 al pastor, and 2 tongue with all the fixings (onions, cilantro, sliced radishes, and grilled onions). Delicious!!!' The al pastor had the most flavor and was on a trompo. We found Taquitos West Avenue on a best-of-San Antonio Reddit post, and it lived up to, maybe even exceeded, the hype! Rolled in around 3pm on a Thursday and didn't wait long. You order first, get seats, then pay on your way out (option to order more from the table). We started with 3 suadero (brisket), 3 al pastor, 1 cabeza and 1 tripas. The al pastor and tripas were our favorites, and we ordered 2 more each after. We've had street tacos in LA and San Diego, but the flavor and meat to tortilla ratio on Taquitos' tacos was rhe best. 12 tacos and a soda between two people came out to 30.26$. This place has the best tacos I have ever had in my life. We were in SATX for 4 days and every day, we have been trying new places for tacos but unfortunately, they did not meet my expectations. They were either too salty, missing ingredients, or no flavors (this was the case at one of the most well known and highly rated places in SATX. I will not expose their name) but was very disappointed. Stumbled across this place and drove to it on New Year only to find that they were closed (but it said open on Yelp). Call to confirm. We were determined to go the next day and not even kidding, I devoured my 5 tacos so fast. Their tacos are so good in every way possible: flavor, less oil, condiments (radish and cucumbers), and the sauce is so damn good. Usually taco places either miss a couple of things or overly salt their food so it's hard to enjoy it. Here, they give you salt packets so that you can add more salt if needed but honestly, it's not needed. It was so damn good that we went back for round 2, for dinner. This time, the line was out the door. The gentleman that took my bf's order was very nice. Very friendly and smiled (didn't see him smiling much to others). Parking: they have a couple parking spots right next to their restaurant but the huge parking lot next door is also theirs. Cars go in and out alllll the time. This place is just WOW on so many levels! Taste, quality, service, cleanliness, efficiency, just everything! We are so full! We wanted to try some of everything at first, so we started with the basics: al pastor freshly shaved off the Trompo and the bistek. The bistek was a little bland and a bit dry, but the al pastor was amazing! A server asked if we wanted to place another taco order and, even though we were getting full, we didn't want to throw in the towel without trying a few more. We ordered the brisket, the tripas, and more al pastor. We had never had a tripas taco but everybody raves about them so we figured we should try them. Wow! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, they reminded me a bit of pork crackling with some crispy bits and some tender bits, with a really great pork flavor. The brisket tacos were also excellent, and better than the bistek. Green and red salsas were brought to the table by the server. The green was so good, we never tried the red. DH is cilantro averse, so it was nice that you can get it on the side or leave it out completely. It literally takes less than a minute to get your food when you order it! As full as we were, we had to share a flan. Flavor was good, though very sweet, but the texture and appearance weren't the greatest. It wasn't smooth and creamy like a properly and carefully prepared flan- it was a little lumpy on the inside, big air holes, and a "skin." Again, the flavor was nice but we'd skip it next time if this is how it always is. Prices are extremely reasonable, too. Wherever you are, it's definitely worth the drive. read more

They only serve al pastor from Thur - Sun. They LOAD your plate up in the best way possible. Ask for cebollita and a chilito on the side. Plenty of parking on the lot adjacent to the spot.
