Driving through San Antonio and was really happy to have come across this yelp suggestion. The food was so full of flavor! I think it's the best birria I've ever tasted. It was fresh and sooooo yummy. All my picky eaters ate their food. The birria macaroni was one of a kind. wish I lived closer so I could get my birria fix from here. Hope to return one day. Service was on point. They had lots of orders but kept the orders coming. Enjoyed eating outside with all the poppin Spanish jams. read more

Came by after the concert and def made the right decision. Ordered tacos, ramen and quesobirria for $45. Everything was pretty good but the ramen was rather salty so beware if you order that. Need to add a little water to it, but regardless the flavor is there and hitting. Order took about 15min and they even brought it to the car for us. read more

Every time we are in San Antonio, this is my hubbys daily fix! I think the counter person knows exactly what he orders every time! I mean he can eat the Birria tacos every day that's how delicious they are. The consommé is by far the best that we've had with these tacos. We will see you again soon. read more

Ordered queso birria and wow, these were delicious! Ate them too fast to take a photo of the food and didn't want to upload an empty plate but we will definitely be ordering again and I won't forget the picture. Highly recommended! read more

Upon arrival, there was a terrible smell, kind of like dead animal. Bad impression. There was a taxidermy next door, so could've been that. Besides that horrendous smell. I loved the outdoor patio and super cool bus that is made to sit and eat in. Service was fairly quick despite the busyness. They waited to give our drinks out until the food was ready, you could ask them for your drinks before. The food portions were great for their price. The birria and broth have a very mild flavor, The meat was very tender. I think it's great for those who have sensitive taste to spicy food. Their hot sauces were good to add spice to your liking, and I loved them! read more

First off, great little spot. I was hesitant to stop by a little stand with only outside seating in this extreme heat. One thing that was interesting was the horrible scent outside. Seems they were cleaning the dumpsters though...should have waited until late night to air it out though. The guy taking the orders was calm and patient as we decided what to order. Then the food came...great food. The sauce is spicy so keep that in mind. Tacos were great! Good job guys. Definitely took a point off for the stinky outdoor smell, but still a solid 5. read more

I've had many birria places here in SA and this place is my #1! Everything comes out hot and the flavor is just wonderful! The grilled cheese is unbelievable. The crunch of the bread, the amount of cheese is amazing! My favorite is the ramen. I like to put their green salsa inside my ramen. Gives it a little spice. Obviously the birria tacos are delicious too! Make a trip! It'll be worth it! read more

Hands down my favorite birria taco place. I've had this place for a few times now and it always exceeds my expectations. We tried the Birria ramen last time and it was perfect for a cold day, although I still prefer the Birria tacos with consume. Definitely will stop here every time I come to San Antonio! read more

We were in San Antonio for the day and I had quesa birria on my list to try while I was TX. We just finished a quick visit to the Mission Conception and when I looked up a place to grab a quick bite Birria Barrio popped up, it was about 5 minutes away. We arrived in no time, cute outdoor seating, covered. I asked the friendly gentleman what was the most popular item on the menu, he said the first one, I ordered it and waited. About 5 minutes food came up. It was awesome!!!! It was my first time having quesa birria, so good cheesy, crispy, and loved the consume it came with. If you're in the area please check them out. read more

This place rocked my socks. That's all I have to say. The gentleman who took my order didn't know a lick of English and that's when I knew, this was going to be an out of body experience. Everything I had here was on point. I will definitely be coming back! Much love, J. Wall read more

Birria Barrio was authentic and delicious! I found it after picking up a shift on the opposite side of town one night, and I would totally drive across San Antonio through construction and all to eat here again! I had four Birria tacos on perfectly fried corn tortillas with onion (ceballo) and cilantro on the side. The orange sauce was on point. I also had a lemonade agua fresca. It was almost $20 total, and it was totally worth it! I definitely recommend Birri Barrio and will eat here again. read more

This was another yelp find. Wife and I were on the way to the playoff game for high school at the AlamoDome in San Antonio and we needed to find a place to eat before the game so of course we went to yelp. We decided on tacos and we were not disappointed. This is about five-ish minutes away from the Alamodome. It's a little food truck with some seating and some great food and fast service. Off to the side the menus are upfront so you place your order you pay and within about five minutes or less we had our food. we both got Birria tacos, I got the one with Chicas. They came with lots of meat on them and lots of flavor. The sauce was spicy and really complemented the tacos. If you're in San Antonio near the Alamo Dome, I would highly recommend it. If you're in San Antonio, and not near the Alamodome, look it up and make the drive, it'll be worth it. read more

Hole in the wall location that will blow your socks off. Came here after every other location known to man in SA was closed or too busy to wait in line for. Glad that nothing else worked out because the second the food was put in front of me it was devoured. The Birria was tastyyyy. And it's not just because I was hungry. This location has beautiful murals painted on the walls and I can say I WILL be back. Heads up you will eat outside on a bench or a not so fancy table but that's just what you should expect out of a place like this. read more

I didn't want overpriced crappy tacos in downtown, went to the hood to birria barrio for some good authentic beef birria and it did not disappoint. For the price it's well worth it, so delicious and some fatty tacos. Pair it with a Mexican Coke and you're set. Will def come back read more

Came here after the Def Leopard concert to try out some of the tacos from San Antonio. My girlfriend and I were excited to eat finally but when we got the food it was inedible. There were tiny chunks of chicharron that were rock hard. My girlfriend chipped a tooth when she took her first bite. When i went back to request a refund all they said was "They come prepackaged so we cant do anything about it." Terrible service and food. Wouldn't recommend. read more

This place is the spot! They're always delicious and consistent in flavor. The portion is huge and two people can easily eat off of one order of queso birria tacos. The staff is friendly and are as efficient as possible. Be prepared to wait if you go later in the evening because that is when business picks up. But at least you know the food is fresh and delicious! They have added more outdoor seating and always have music playing. A must eat location in SA! read more

Birria ramen and birria tacos hit the spot on a nice chilly night. 10/10 for food and vibes

The best Birria tacos in San Antonio! I consider this location the most authentic Birria Tacos I have tried in Texas. The service is very speedy; you give your order through a window and shouldn't have to wait too long for an order. I would keep in mind, this location only provides outside seating, however they can be found on Uber eats for those rainy days. Overall, if you're looking for flavor and authenticity you will absolutely enjoy their food! read more

First off, I commented on their Facebook page, and they decided to block my comment. The Birria tacos were bland and didn't have consome on the tacos like a birria taco should have. The tacos were not crunchy, either. The consome was descent. However, I am very disappointed with the reviews. People are hyping this place up to have some of the best birria, but it's not all that. If you decide to eat there, it has only outside sitting, so with the Texas heat, it's not a very comfortable place to eat. I am very disappointed that they removed my comment on Facebook it was just my opinion, and it wasn't harsh at all. I just rated them a 5 out of 19. Trying to silence an honest customer, especially a critic, is just plain wrong. Please view pictures of the food I received this afternoon. You can be the judge, especially for all you, birria critics. read more

This place is undoubtedly one of the best taco places I've been to and that's saying something. The food speaks for itself in ways that just make your mouth water.
