ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECIEPTS!!! I paid for my friends birthday shots and they still charged her for them. I tried to tell the bartenders Jenny and Selena that I paid for my friends shots and when they gave us both of our tabs and receipts, I grabbed both and paid for them in cash. the receipts for my friends tab was $31 and added with my tab was $45 so I paid cash and added both tabs together and the bartender took the money and tabs. She tried to charge my friend, birthday girl, with the tab that I had already I paid for, and when I asked about it, both Jenny and Selena printed out tabs that were fake and didn't have anything to do with mine and my friends tab so they kept trying to tell us we never paid for those tabs when in reality, she pocketed the cash and didnt pay it it towards the tab. My friend who was celebrating her birthday had to pay $40 on her tab which I paid for in cash already but they lied and said I didnt pay for my friends drinks.. My friend paid twice for her drinks I paid for on her birthday. Don't pay for any tabs with cash because they will pocket it and tell you that you didn't pay for it. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECIEPTS!!! The service was horrible and the bartenders Jenny and selena were terrible. They charged my wife twice for her drinks that she paid in cash and tried to lie and say she didn't pay cash for them. It was her friends bday and my wife paid for her friends drinks in cash but the bartenders still charged her friend for the drinks my wife paid for in cash. She paid almost $75 for the drinks including tip and they charged my wife's friend for the tab but couldn't show us a reciept to back up the charges or drinks. They kicked us out because it was almost closing time. Would never come back here. read more

I've been here before, but that was a couple of years back. I was searching for a clean, not too busy, spacious sports bar that was close to me to watch the UTSA vs Illinois game. The Bend came to mind! I went to their Instagram to peep what the vibe would be like that day/night. They were doing a 90s theme that night and I was definitely sold! I love the nostalgia of theme nights. My friend called ahead of time to see if they have the Big 10 network so we could watch the game and they gave us the green light. My friend and I dressed up that night for the 90's occasion. When we arrived they were playing the UT game and audio. Luckily the bartender was very nice and told us she would change the audio over when the UT game was over, which she kept her word. The service was good! Again, not a neighborhood I live around anymore, but I have swung by here for some happy hours with coworkers. It's pretty roomy inside, and they have pretty decent drink specials. The open patio allows smoking if you're into that. Drinks are nothing out of the ordinary, beers are your standard selection. Really, just a great place to hang out on their totally [legit] patio with a group of great friends. Their drinks are pretty weak (standard straight bar fare) so I would recommend sticking to boozy cocktails or beer. But remember, enjoy responsibly y'all..... Their "patio" area is what keeps us coming back. Picnic tables galore, horseshoe, a totally scary wooded area, (corresponds well with Halloween season) not to mention an outside bar, pool tables, TV's, live entertainment (on some nights) plus a crazy chick with headphones dancing and dancing and the list goes on...... Bottom line, come here to have fun. Holy Jesus how could I forget?!! And a sweet Puerto Rican food truck outside serving up some amazing snacks. Service at The Bend is pretty attentive. If you just post up in a certain area, whether inside or outside, a waitress is bound to come around to take your order and bring it to you with the quickness. Haha... Pros: The layout is nice. It's big. It has a nice back patio. The bartender was friendly. Cons: it smells like smoke because the smokers sit right by the roll up door on the bar so all their smoke comes inside. The Draft beer was terrible. I ordered a shiner. The bartender poured out half of the beer our because the Draft system is out of wack and it was all head. Once I received my beer the head went away super quick and it looked like oil was floating on top. Beer is not supposed to be flat and oily. It also did not taste very good. Almost a bitter taste. I did not finish my beer or stay for another drink. If you can't get Draft shiner right in Texas there is something wrong. They need to fix their Draft system. read more

So there are a few reasons why I will not be coming back. The draft beer was horrible and we didn't even finish ours because of the flat odd taste. It's a sports bar, right, but some of the tv's weren't working for the Spurs game. Pool table is in the middle of the walkway for the bathroom. They ONLY serve two types of pizza and they were out of it all before 8 p.m.. Overall, they don't have food, the inside feels like I am at a high school garage party, and the beer tasted horrible. Do NOT go to The Bend if you don't like smoke and don't want to go home smelling like smoke. They blatantly violate our city's smoking laws by allowing people to smoke right there at the bar with everyone else. Even though that side of the bar is outside, all of the smoke is blown inside the bar and you come home smelling like a chimney. It is even worse when people are smoking cheap cigars like they were last night and blowing it inside. My winter coat now smells like an ashtray. I should send The Bend my dry cleaning bill. Regarding the drinks, they are not competitively priced and the specials are just okay. I will be sticking to TRUE non-smoking bars who follow no smoking laws from now on. read more

I went to this bar about a week ago and won't be going back. If you aren't a good friend or dating the bartender good luck getting a drink. The customers service lacks a lot to desire. The area around the one and only pool table is extremely crowded and right next to the bathrooms so you constantly have drink people walking though what little space you do have. And the staff is incompetent for the most part. It gets busy and if your not flirting with the bartender constantly, good luck getting your drinks. read more

Looks great on the inside but this place has a total of 8 patrons during SEC championship and Baylor vs Texas game. Even with nobody here it still took the bartender over 5 minutes to ask if I'd like anything to drink. I guess her friends at the end of the bar were more important than working for tips. Also, I initially came here because a local college magazine named this place as the best sports bar but everyone in here is over 40. I'm assuming they meant best sports bar for non traditional college students. Nice big bar, a few arcade games and pool table make this place look nice. The building looks new and very clean. The location of this bar is not great either. To top everything off my Stella tastes old (flat). I really don't give 1 star ratings and for that reason I give this place a very anemic 2 stars. read more
