We go here on Saturday nights for poker. It's a nice clean place. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. Staff is polite, attentive and friendly. Last nights drag show was amazing! read more

Stopped by for a cocktail I'm giving it for stars for the girls friendliness. We ordered an old fashioned and a dos. Old fashioned imma give it a 3 lol that's my go to so I'm picky when it's not made correctly. This is def a regulars bar lol idk what time they got there but they were already on that level. read more

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECIEPTS!!! I paid for my friends birthday shots and they still charged her for them. I tried to tell the bartenders Jenny and Selena that I paid for my friends shots and when they gave us both of our tabs and receipts, I grabbed both and paid for them in cash. the receipts for my friends tab was $31 and added with my tab was $45 so I paid cash and added both tabs together and the bartender took the money and tabs. She tried to charge my friend, birthday girl, with the tab that I had already I paid for, and when I asked about it, both Jenny and Selena printed out tabs that were fake and didn't have anything to do with mine and my friends tab so they kept trying to tell us we never paid for those tabs when in reality, she pocketed the cash and didnt pay it it towards the tab. My friend who was celebrating her birthday had to pay $40 on her tab which I paid for in cash already but they lied and said I didnt pay for my friends drinks.. My friend paid twice for her drinks I paid for on her birthday. Don't pay for any tabs with cash because they will pocket it and tell you that you didn't pay for it. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECIEPTS!!! I would never ever trust JENNY AND SELENA. They will lie right through their teeth. I wish I never paid in cash. read more

The service was horrible and the bartenders Jenny and selena were terrible. They charged my wife twice for her drinks that she paid in cash and tried to lie and say she didn't pay cash for them. It was her friends bday and my wife paid for her friends drinks in cash but the bartenders still charged her friend for the drinks my wife paid for in cash. She paid almost $75 for the drinks including tip and they charged my wife's friend for the tab but couldn't show us a reciept to back up the charges or drinks. They kicked us out because it was almost closing time. Would never come back here. read more

I've been here before, but that was a couple of years back. I was searching for a clean, not too busy, spacious sports bar that was close to me to watch the UTSA vs Illinois game. The Bend came to mind! I went to their Instagram to peep what the vibe would be like that day/night. They were doing a 90s theme that night and I was definitely sold! I love the nostalgia of theme nights. My friend called ahead of time to see if they have the Big 10 network so we could watch the game and they gave us the green light. My friend and I dressed up that night for the 90's occasion. When we arrived they were playing the UT game and audio. Luckily the bartender was very nice and told us she would change the audio over when the UT game was over, which she kept her word. The service was good! Don't waste your time or money here! I've always wondered if the things I would hear about this place had some truth. Well now I know, it's true. They serve their regulars till they are belligerent and defend their behavior when they are harassing other customers. Not a place to relax when you have to be on guard with the stupidity. This is a older crowd but the environment is pretty chill. It has a outdoor hangout which is relaxing. If you want a low key place this is a hidden gem. You can hear what your friends are saying versus screaming because the loud music. read more

"Give me that thing Give it my friend Give me good, good times around the bend" A good spot to hang out after work. Again, not a neighborhood I live around anymore, but I have swung by here for some happy hours with coworkers. It's pretty roomy inside, and they have pretty decent drink specials. The open patio allows smoking if you're into that. Drinks are nothing out of the ordinary, beers are your standard selection. I usually stick with dos equis whenever I'm in a non-hipstery bar like this one. Pool and darts are available and they have a nook reserved for bands to play. read more

This bar only recently came up within the past few months and it looks awesome. The bouncer at the door was REALLY friendly - actually, she was pretty freakin' awesome if you ask me. For the look of the place and the back patio, I'm there. But for the rest of the service (which was slow and really seemed awkward) and lack of having a truly 'dressed' beer, you have got to be kidding me. read more

Really, just a great place to hang out on their totally [legit] patio with a group of great friends. Their drinks are pretty weak (standard straight bar fare) so I would recommend sticking to boozy cocktails or beer. But remember, enjoy responsibly y'all..... Their "patio" area is what keeps us coming back. Picnic tables galore, horseshoe, a totally scary wooded area, (corresponds well with Halloween season) not to mention an outside bar, pool tables, TV's, live entertainment (on some nights) plus a crazy chick with headphones dancing and dancing and the list goes on...... Bottom line, come here to have fun. Holy Jesus how could I forget?!! And a sweet Puerto Rican food truck outside serving up some amazing snacks. Service at The Bend is pretty attentive. If you just post up in a certain area, whether inside or outside, a waitress is bound to come around to take your order and bring it to you with the quickness. Haha... I still find it funny that there are two bars on Bandera... one called "The Bend" and the other one called "Over." Coincidence? I think not. read more

I would never go back. I had a customer threatened me so I paid my bill went outside to my car to leave.. No One saw this man come outside and kick my car so I put it in park and pulled out my knife a. The guy runs off and they say I'm Banned.lol FINE BY ME!!! read more

Pros: The layout is nice. It's big. It has a nice back patio. The bartender was friendly. Cons: it smells like smoke because the smokers sit right by the roll up door on the bar so all their smoke comes inside. The Draft beer was terrible. I ordered a shiner. The bartender poured out half of the beer our because the Draft system is out of wack and it was all head. Once I received my beer the head went away super quick and it looked like oil was floating on top. Beer is not supposed to be flat and oily. It also did not taste very good. Almost a bitter taste. I did not finish my beer or stay for another drink. If you can't get Draft shiner right in Texas there is something wrong. They need to fix their Draft system. read more

So there are a few reasons why I will not be coming back. The draft beer was horrible and we didn't even finish ours because of the flat odd taste. It's a sports bar, right, but some of the tv's weren't working for the Spurs game. Pool table is in the middle of the walkway for the bathroom. They ONLY serve two types of pizza and they were out of it all before 8 p.m.. Overall, they don't have food, the inside feels like I am at a high school garage party, and the beer tasted horrible. Not coming back. read more

Nothing too crazy here. This is a nice little bar on a major road. The outdoor patio is really nice. They usually have really good drink specials. You can enjoy a lot of open space. I love the indoor/outdoor bar. read more

First time in any bar in over 20 years; nothing has changed but the faces. Beer was cold, glass appeared clean. $3.50 for draught Coors Light. Early Sunday afternoon, four middle agers and a youngster. For a place that does not allow smoking, it smelled surprisingly like a stale ashtray. It appears I haven't missed much in the last two decades. Y'all have fun now! read more

Whew!!! It's freaking hot in San Antonio! Sweaty nalgas all around! Buuut The Bend is a perfect place to get out of the heat and have a cold cold beer. Staff is always friendly and the jukebox plays all the jams to shake them sweaty nalgas. Ha! Cheers! read more

Do NOT go to The Bend if you don't like smoke and don't want to go home smelling like smoke. They blatantly violate our city's smoking laws by allowing people to smoke right there at the bar with everyone else. Even though that side of the bar is outside, all of the smoke is blown inside the bar and you come home smelling like a chimney. It is even worse when people are smoking cheap cigars like they were last night and blowing it inside. My winter coat now smells like an ashtray. I should send The Bend my dry cleaning bill. Regarding the drinks, they are not competitively priced and the specials are just okay. I will be sticking to TRUE non-smoking bars who follow no smoking laws from now on. read more

This is one of the best sports bars in San Antonio. Very clean, great service, excellent prices and outstanding atmosphere. I've been coming here since they opened and wouldn't go anywhere else. I went to this bar about a week ago and won't be going back. If you aren't a good friend or dating the bartender good luck getting a drink. The customers service lacks a lot to desire. The drink specials were still about the regular price at other bars so not much of a discount there either. It was packed when we went so that made it even harder to get waited on. read more

This place is a joke. The area around the one and only pool table is extremely crowded and right next to the bathrooms so you constantly have drink people walking though what little space you do have. And the staff is incompetent for the most part. It gets busy and if your not flirting with the bartender constantly, good luck getting your drinks. read more

Looks great on the inside but this place has a total of 8 patrons during SEC championship and Baylor vs Texas game. Even with nobody here it still took the bartender over 5 minutes to ask if I'd like anything to drink. I guess her friends at the end of the bar were more important than working for tips. Also, I initially came here because a local college magazine named this place as the best sports bar but everyone in here is over 40. I'm assuming they meant best sports bar for non traditional college students. Nice big bar, a few arcade games and pool table make this place look nice. The building looks new and very clean. The location of this bar is not great either. To top everything off my Stella tastes old (flat). I really don't give 1 star ratings and for that reason I give this place a very anemic 2 stars. read more

It's okay. The inside has a strange line of sight and it feels a little awkward when trying to figure out where to sit. My fianceé and I prefer to sit outside when the weather is nice. Servers are okay and decent prices. read more

The first issue was using the InKind app. We spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to use it because ordering ahead wasn't working, and none of the employees seemed familiar with the process. One employee was patient, friendly, and genuinely tried to help us figure it out, which I appreciated. After finally placing our order, we were told it would take about 15 minutes. Instead, we waited roughly 40 minutes, and didn't receive our food until 11:00 p.m., right at closing. I understand we came during the last hour before closing, which is why I specifically asked if we had enough time. If the kitchen was backed up or our order was going to take 40+ minutes that late in the evening, I would have completely understood. I just wish we had been told that up front instead of being quoted 15 minutes. By the time we received our food, it was closing time. Thankfully we ordered it to go, because if we'd planned to eat there, we wouldn't have had the opportunity. When our food was finally ready, the bag was already ripping because something inside had leaked. The employee noticed right away, grabbed two new bags, and repacked everything, which I appreciated. We ordered quite a bit to sample the menu: the Cali Chick (lettuce wrapped), Hot Chick, Buff Chick, Little Mule, Totchos, onion strings, sweet potato fries, and a Teriyaki Chicken Caesar Wrap (which we haven't tried yet, so I can't comment on that one). Unfortunately, the food we did eat was very disappointing. The lettuce-wrapped Cali Chick was a mess--the lettuce was so wilted it couldn't even function as a wrap. The onion strings, Totchos, and sweet potato fries had all lost their crispness by the time we got them, and everything was lukewarm or cold. The Little Mule ended up being our favorite burger, while the Hot Chick definitely delivered on the spice. Ironically, the sweet potato fries were my favorite side, even though they came in the smallest portion. Our total was over $100 before the InKind discount, and I honestly wouldn't pay full price for this meal. The quality just didn't match the price. I don't know if the kitchen was short-staffed or if something else was going on that night, but waiting 40 minutes after being quoted 15 minutes--especially with almost no one else ordering--only to receive cold, soggy food was incredibly disappointing. I do want to give credit to the employee who helped us. He was polite, apologized several times for the delay, and even repacked our order when he noticed the leaking bag. Unfortunately, the overall experience and food quality just didn't live up to the price. Based on this visit, I couldn't justify spending over $100 for the experience we received. I hope this was just an off night, but it was disappointing enough that I felt it deserved a 2-star review.

Instead of feeling comfortable enough to enjoy my meal and watch the game, the atmosphere felt tense, like everyone was sizing everyone else up. It wasn't a place where I could relax. The kitchen deserves credit because the food was genuinely good. In fact, the kitchen is carrying this establishment. The food is the only reason I would even consider coming back, but it's overshadowed by poor customer service and an atmosphere that feels more interested in gimmicks than genuine hospitality. This is one of our favorite places to watch football on Sundays. The service is quick and the bartenders are always helpful and friendly. The prices are great and they always provide some kind of free food like burgers or chips and dip since they don't have a big menu. The patio is the best and there's plenty of seating at the bar or in the large main room as well. It's a great place to go and make yourself at home watching sports or Nascar. read more
