I know this place used to be Dry Oyster Dock and I never had any problems with them so I decided to try this restaurant that took its place. I ordered the catfish plate. I ordered in person (since it's just a couple minutes away from my house) and waiting about 10-15 minutes before my food came out. Please note: there are no food substitutes The plate comes with 3 filets, fries, and hush puppies. The flavor of the fish seemed off to me, not in a bad way but in a weird way like that put something sweet in their fry batter. I also have to point out that this is not true catfish, it seems like it's Swai. That could be the reason why it didn't taste like catfish and the texture didn't hold up as well either. While the staff were super friendly, I wouldn't say this would be a regular spot for me to visit. Maybe I'll try something else and update my review.

The main problem this place has right now is AIR CONDITIONING! It's 100 degrees out and we Texans like to be cool while we eat. The bar area was way too hot to be comfortable, even with the fans on. The server said it's like that every day. Ugh. I did notice that it was cooler in the back after I got up to go to the restroom, but by then we were already seated and had ordered. We decided to pretend that we were actually at a beachside bar sitting outside. It didn't work. We were sweating bullets by the time we finished eating, and were extremely uncomfortable. I noted that there was only one other person in the restaurant other than us. We did not get the boil or oysters, so I cannot speak to those dishes. We did get the fried catfish/shrimp platter and it was good. The batter on both the fish and shrimp was not overbearing or too heavy. The cocktail and tartar sauces were somewhat bland, but the French fries were good. I had eaten there a few times when it was Dry Dock and it really isn't much different now. The best thing I can say is that if it were indeed a beach bar located on a beach, it would be fine. But when there are so many other great options for seafood in our town, it is mediocre at best. I probably won't go back. Maybe a carry out if I get another craving for fried food. And they charge a fee for using a credit card which annoys me. I don't carry around a bunch of cash and if they can't figure out how to process credit cards and still make a profit, that's not my problem. Sorry, but it comes right out of the tip.

This new restaurant in the medical center area, large variety of seafood. We got served by Oksana, she greet us with a warm smile, answered our questions. We came for crawfish it was tasty it was an enjoyable meal. I will definetely coming back. The oyster was juicy and tasty.

Lucy, our waitress and bartender was amazing. It was a great spot to hang out and have fun. It kinda reminded me of a "CHEERS" spot where everyone is family. The owner was engaged with the customers. The oysters were amazing. I had boil bag #2 with medium spice. Lucy made an amazing lemon drop, called, 'Blue Lucy'

No issues with parking also wheelchair accessible.

We first came on Saturday we had fried shrimo and French fries. The reason I didnt give 5 stars my husband is diabetic. They dont do subitutes. So he could get coleslaw in place of French. So they were wasted. There is only one restroom stall for women Id guess for men also? The restroom was very roomy and clean. The lunch special is $13 for half pound of shrimp, corn, 1 big potatoes and 1 corn. The shrimp were big. Im from SE Louisiana. Otherwise this may not bother you? They dont devine the shrimp. See photo for information on that. It was so so messy. Next visit I will ask for sauce on the side. This will help alot. I dont drink anything carbonated. So ice tea is important to me. Two visits it has a strong after taste. The good now the place is very very clean. Gabe our waiter they are very lucky to have hes adorable, friendly and very attentive. I saw how he interacted with customers. He is a natural he is a people person. The music is a great choice. There is also many tvs. I will come again and try sauce on the side and drink water. Give it a try I just hope this review helps. I asked hes off Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

That's the thickness of the catfish!

They've upgraded the decor from the old Drydock. Oysters are good. But fried catfish was mostly breading (no fish!) & no substitutions! Coleslaw instead of fries-NO! Customers are not #1.

I have been several times to the previous Dry Dock which I watched it going downhill throughout the last couple of years. Now Crab City is open which I am wondering if it is the same owner as I read online in an article I decided to give it a chance and of course wanting to always eat crawfish that was the main thing I ordered. The lady who served us is extremely friendly and sweet! Finally a change from all the bad service and attitude from the last waitress I always got from the previous restaurant The restaurant is empty which also made me wonder how long it will survive The ambiance is still the same... even the decor hasn't changed Now about the food... nothing really to talk about. It is average and I think a bit overly priced. $15 for a pound of crawfish The saddest part is seeing 2 customers walking in, seems they were regulars at the previous restaurant asking for items that they do not have anymore... they left Sadly I will not return

But my best friends really wanted to give it another shot, so we went for it. And I have to say, they pretty much turned it around this time. The staff was super attentive, checking on us often and making sure we were well taken care of. It felt like they really wanted to make this a positive experience. The food was great: crawfish, shrimp, and snow crab with their signature spice blend that's definitely on the spicy side but absolutely delicious. We also tried the regular fries, and next time I'm definitely going for the sweet potato fries to keep it a little more glycemic-friendly. And here's a fun detail we loved: their Pepsi products were spot on. It's like the Pepsi equivalent of how McDonald's nails their Coke--perfectly carbonated and just right. So yes, there's still a little knot in my throat from that past hiccup, but this visit really helped untie it. We left happy and we'll definitely be back. If you had a rough experience before, I'd say give them another shot--this time, they really got it right.

Our server Tyler, was excellent--super attentive and answered all of my aunt's questions about the food and the place with patience and detail. My first visit here was for the Elite Event, and I enjoyed it overall--except for the salsa verde, which was too salty. My aunt ordered the Empanada Costena and the Calamari to start. She absolutely loved the empanada, and everyone agreed the salsa verder could use a little less salt. The calamari, on the other hand, was delicious--crispy and flavorful. I couldn't get enough! For my main course, I went with the grilled Tilapia from the Mambo Classis set menu, paired with a salad. It was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor--I finished every bite. The rest of my party orders Grilled snapper, Mambo Fried Fiesta and the Sliced Sautéed Octopus. Everyone enjoy their meals and the portions were so generous that they even had left overs. I have not been around someone smoking in so long and the last place I want it is in a restaurant. The boil was decent. The problem is salt. There was so much salt on the sausage and other parts of the boil that it was not all edible. The crab in the boil was good, the shrimp was okay, the muscles okay. No one ate the sausage, most of the potatoes were left bc they were hard. I will say the calamari was the reason for the extra star. Everyone agreed the calamari was excellent. The sweet tea was great. There is graffiti on everything. The walls, the chairs, the leather , the decor. If your kids can read and you don't want to answer questions as a parent this is not the place for you. It was filthy, there was food all over the ground. When we sat down there was shrimp, French fries and potatoes under our table. We did not see a single person cleaning the floors. This was not a good night out. We've been wanting to try something different from the usual, and this place absolutely delivered. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly and treated with genuine kindness. Our waitress was polite, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire visit. To drink, we ordered a large hibiscus tea served in a mason jar. You can immediately tell it's made in-house -- incredibly fresh, with a subtle hint of lime. Easily one of the best hibiscus teas I've had, and far better than the powdered versions many places use. I wouldn't even hesitate to pay for refills. We also started with a Modelo (canned), crudo shrimp (2 pieces), Japanese peanuts, chamoy, and a sauce at the bottom of the plate that was unbelievably good -- likely one of their ceviche sauces. Whatever it was, it was packed with flavor. For entrees, my spouse ordered the Pork Belly AguaChile, and it was phenomenal. The pork belly was crispy, tender, and moist all at once, loaded with flavor. It came with a generous portion of very fresh guacamole, topped with julienned red onions and serrano peppers, plus four corn tortillas and a fresh salsa verde with the perfect amount of heat. My spouse isn't big on tortillas, so I happily made a few tacos myself -- no regrets. I ordered the Ceviche La Mamona, which included tender octopus, melt-in-your-mouth ahi tuna, perfectly cooked shrimp, avocado, onion, cucumber, tomato, and a black sauce that tied everything together beautifully. This was, without question, the best ceviche I've ever had. I've never been to Mexico, but this is exactly how I imagine it should taste -- incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced. They also serve it with crackers, tostadas, and two creamy salsas: one habanero and one jalapeño/serrano. Honestly, the ceviche alone could have been a full meal. If you're looking for generous portions, outstanding freshness, excellent service, and a truly memorable seafood experience, AguaChiles is the place. Next time, I'm coming back for the whole octopus, super tostada mixta, oyster preparado, queso flameado, fried oysters, and possibly a molcajete. I love food, and every meal here felt like an adventure.
