We came in as a party of 7 expecting a wait, limited seating and decent wait for food -- it was July 4th and I guess it was my lucky day that not too many people were thinking seafood boils! We were seated promptly to look over the menus and had a wide variety of items. I no longer overlook the words "fried pickles" on any menu, and there was no exception at Mr. Crabby's. We ordered a few pounds of shrimp and chose the trifecta seasoning in HOT (our waitress was so honest and told us that the medium isn't so hot and THANK GOD). We also had the combo fried seafood basket -- catfish & cod, a catfish po boy, and popcorn shrimp. The popcorn shrimp basket was a hit with the kids and we ended up having to order another round. Service here was amazing our waiter made sure we had everything we need and we walked in 40 min before close and he still made sure we had everything we needed. We got the Monday special and also added 2lbs of Crawfish on top of that and 2 boiled eggs and when I tell you I loved the mud bugs here and everything else too. Everything was seasoned and tasty. There wasn't anything that tasted bad and the environment was nice too it had a charming feel to it. It's a shame the service was so poor because atmosphere, ambiance, and taste of food was fantastic. We had, I believe, Mia, and from the get-go it felt like we were an annoyance to her. We had never been there before and someone in our party had a question about the pricing, and she answered short, cold, and dismissive. I could sense she was irritated. Since it was our first time, we took a few extra minutes to know what we wanted, but it took a while for her to come back to our table. It was starting to be revealed that this was the pattern that we would expect (attitude and a lack of checking in). We ordered our food eventually and the food came out. All of it was delicious. We were missing an order of Cajun fries though, and because Mia was barely checking in on us, the Cajun fries came when we were halfway through our meal. It was interesting because when I asked her originally on the Cajun fries, she paused and closed her eyes for a few seconds as if my request was irritable to her. I had ordered crab but there was no offer on if I needed a tool for it. Again, we didn't see our server for the duration of our meal. What's funny was that we were seated along the path where her assigned tables were, and I would see her walk past us often without checking in on us. When it was time for us to get the check, we were never checked in on for us to get the bill. I had to approach the front staff to initiate the close out of the bill because Mia was terrible at being our server. She saw that I went to the front and actually checked in on our table. She said the reason she didn't check in on us was because she had 10 other tables. I understand when it gets busy, but it doesn't take much to take literally 15 seconds to check in with your tables to ask if they need anything. In all honesty, it wasn't horrifically busy either (no lines out the door, empty tables throughout the restaurant). To me that was a cop out excuse that I didn't appreciate. The final cherry on top, she charged us a separate bill for the calamari we ordered for whatever reason. I hate to do this, but one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. The good - seafood boil was reasonably tasty but was diminished by terrible service. Upon arrival we were greeted with big chain restaurant aesthetics and EXTREMELY loud smooth jazz. We were seated right away but the hostess (instead of waiting for our party of 3 to pass) awkwardly cuts through the middle of us. This happened more than once. 2 of our 3 entrees came out before our appetizer (within 2 minutes of us ordering). When I commented on the order of service our waiter offered no apology and just stated "that's the way our kitchen does it" The appetizer was overpriced mostly filler mushy crab cake. The rest of the food was well below average. Seasoning levels went from bland to the entirety of the dead sea being used. See pics for what wasn't eaten. The bread was so bad we actually had to spit it into a napkin. My daughter described the flavor as radioactive. On top of everything else the service was horrible. No extra plates for the appetizer, no straws, no silverware, no crab crackers or pickers. We had to ask for everything. The waiter even came by once to ask how we were doing. This would have been good if he had waited for a response instead of asking while zipping past with almost no eye contact. After talking to the manager I now know where the lack of service comes from. There was no "sorry to hear that you had a negative experience", no "is there anything we can do to improve your experience. He simply responded with "yes sir, I understand". Our boil didnt have any flavor, garlic or any kind of seasoning. My friend and I had ordered the hot and the garlic, heat, and seasoning was non existent. Just tasted like plain butter and my friend said the same thing. They ran out of grilled oysters from last weekend so we couldn't order that. We asked for more napkins since the roll we had at our table was almost all gone and that took forever and server seemed new or not knowledgeable when we questioned the lack of flavor and heat and asked for more garlic and said manager will have to approve first and he came and we let him know what was needed...he did get some mote chopped garlic for us and also brought out more seasoning since boil lacked flavor. Starting with cocktails.. the special of the day was a Razzmatazz lemonade, it was light and refreshing. Presentation was 10/10, taste was 7/10. My husband described it as a "refreshing iced Dimetapp" lol. My drink was a margarita on the rocks w/ sugar rim. Prisentation was 9/10. I took off a point bc sugar was dripping down the side and i hate to get my hands sticky. Taste was 7/10. It was light in flavor, not too sweet or sour. This place is a hot mess! First off, there are no prices on the menus, so you can't figure out what your best options would be as you constantly need to ask your server what the price of each item is. I realize rates can be basked in market value, but then you should have a board posted daily with the current prices, I shouldn't have to ask my server to relay the price of every item on the menu and then try to remember what they said before placing our orders. The food was good but nothing exceptional and I would much rather go to our usual place for that style of food, as i felt we get a better deal there and it's much less hassle to place an order! We visited Mr. Crabby on 1604/281 today and decided to give it a second chance. Our first visit wasn't that bad, which is the only reason we came back. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning. We ordered the shrimp étouffée with white rice, and an appetizer of cheese sticks. The food came out very quickly, so we knew it hadn't been sitting long waiting to be served. However, it seemed like it had been sitting in a pot for quite some time before that. The rice was not even warm and somewhat hard. The shrimp tasted fresh, but the étouffée itself tasted and appeared like it came from a jar or can. It was very bland and, once again, not even warm. My philosophy is simple: if hot food is being served, it should arrive hot. If cold food is being served, it should arrive cold. I politely asked our server if they could take the dish back and bring it out hot. They did, but it was obvious the plate had simply been microwaved because the garlic toast came back soggy. Not only was the food disappointing, but I ended up taking it home and adding my own seasonings just to make it edible. For $79, I expected fresh, flavorful food, not something that tasted canned and reheated. The atmosphere didn't help either. The music being played didn't match the Louisiana-style theme of the restaurant at all. There were several young employees working, and the music was so slow and low-energy that even the busboys looked like they were struggling to stay awake. We arrived around 4:30 p.m. on a Saturday, well before any dinner rush, so there really wasn't an excuse for the poor quality of the food. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality, flavor, and attention to detail. Needless to say, we will not be going back. What's most surprising is that this restaurant has only recently opened. I truly hope they improve, but based on our experience, we cannot recommend it. read more

We ate dinner here last night. It was our second time to eat here. My husband and I shared the daily special both times . Last night it was crab, shrimp, and lobster with corn and sausage. It's a good price, around $37. We do add another 1/2 lb of crab though. Both times we did their crabby special sauce - so good! Their spice level is very mild, did mild first time and it wasn't spicy at all. We did medium last night and it still wasn't spicy. Next time we will go higher. It was a 30 minute wait last night, but we had a movie to get to. So we were able to sit immediately at the bar and order from full menu. They had a band last night too that was really good. Visited here with a group of 5. We were seated within 5 minutes. Decor is very pirate/beach themed. There was a live DJ playing 80s-90s hit. Loved it. Everyone got either the seafood boil special or a mix of a pound or so of shrimp and crab. It was a good amount of food. A few people were disappointed that the hottest spice level they had didn't even taste at all spicy. Everyone agreed all of it was mild jo matter the spice level selected. There were a few sauces to choose from. We picked either the trifecta or the Mr crabbys special sauce which in the end all tastes the same and even a little too oily. The best part in my opinion was the Cajun fries. They came out hot with great seasoning. The servers were great, Maria and Andrew. They did everything amazing. The batter did not adhere to the fish and it left a slimy texture in your mouth. The yellow/orange dipping sauce that came with the hush puppies was horrible. We arrived, sat, ordered 2 teas and bodan balls for appetizers, about 10 min, we ordered a boil, king crab legs, shrimp and lobster tail, within 5 minutes we got our boil. Now, anyone who knows boils, don't take 5 mins. Shrimp was over cooked, the skin was stuck to shrimp, crab legs were too soft to Crack along with lobster tails, now the corn and potatoes had no boil flavor and the corn was hard and no firmness. It was dissatisfying and we were disappointing, the pictures on the web looked great, but live not so great. The music is nice, a bit too loud, we had to shout our meal, the waitress couldn't hear us. Our bill was 189.95, it should have been worth the price. But it wasn't. read more

Waited about 10min before we were attended. Waiter was friendly but we had to ask for silverware and refills on the drinks. Food was good, but what we couldn't get over was the music. The music being played was very questionable for a restaurant because of what the lyrics were saying and the the volume was so high we couldn't talk or hear what anyone was saying.
