Stumbled upon this place thanks to Yelp and craving some Mediterranean food and this hit the spot! This food truck is in the "Soco Market" lot on SoCo and you can call ahead so it's ready when you get there. The guy working was very nice and food was made pretty quickly too. Both combo and lamb plate were great. White sauce is delicious. Red sauce is spicy so be cautious - we just got ours on the side. The fries were the only things that were super disappointing. Got seasoning on them but pretty tasteless and kind of undercooked? Not a fan and definitely not for $6. The plate portions are great though. Will definitely be back!

Soco Halal is an unexpected gem in South Austin. You'll get great service, efficiency, and most importantly, amazing food! You also get hefty portions for a solid price. I ordered the falafel plate and was happy to see the falafel being made to order. It was the best falafel I've had in a long time, if not ever. My dish was jam packed with flavor; the rice was so so good and added sauces were tasty. Overall: I'm really appreciative of this small business turning my bad day into a good one. It was well over 100 degrees and they're in the truck with a literal fire going, but were still intentional, kind, and efficient. My dish was definitely the comfort food I needed!

Late night spot on Congress. Guy at counter was helpful and nice about my gluten allergy. Food was very reasonably priced and the portions were HEFTY. The food was SUPER good! In a sketchy parking lot of a convenience store but some of the best food trucks are lol!

Wow, just exquisite. This is one of the best "chicken over rice" mediterranean dishes I've ever had! Can't believe I haven't been here until now. This is reminiscent of the BEST I've ever had (sadly haven't had them in New York where they apparently originate), back when I lived in Houston. A brick- and- mortar joint called Gyro Hut, if I recall. This is as good! Don't question why it has 5 stars, it's deserved, believe me! Dear financial advisors who tell us to cook at home to save money... forget it, this is too delicious to pass up! This food truck opens at 5pm, just FYI.

The BEST rice with amazing flavor and falafel is fresh, crispy on the outside hot and soft on the inside. Reminds me of being in the Middle East!

Love having this place in the neighborhood. The combination plate over rice was great and the guys working in the trailer were super friendly! I'll definitely be back

Very shady due to the large mature trees. There's plenty of picnic style bench seating to choose from. All in all, great Austin hangout!

I think some are open in the morning/afternoon and others in the afternoon/evening. I ordered an al pastor taco and chips with queso from CJ's tacos right before they closed at 7pm. The taco was good (a little greasy) but much better once you add the green sauce they serve with it on top. The queso was really tasty, like a better version of the tostitos queso. The food trucks are in a circle and surround a playground in the middle. It is a cool venue and while I wouldn't call it particularly nice, it is fairly clean. After the taco appetizer, we ordered gnocchi pomodoro and the casarecce with basil pesto and tomatoes from Artipasta with tiramisu for dessert. The pesto was good, but lacking in flavor a bit. The gnocchi were delicious, great texture and a wonderful tomato sauce. We honestly should have placed two orders for the gnocchi and skipped the casarecce. My friends liked the tiramisu but said it was a bit different from a traditional tiramisu. We wanted to try a vodka pizza from Day's Pizza but they were completely sold out for the day (no dough left). We tried the paneer entree and aloo paratha from the Desi Spot. The food took awhile to come out and I would have liked a few more pieces of paneer but it was all delicious. Overall a cool spot and a nice way to try a bunch of different food trucks and cuisines at once. Just check the hours for the food trucks you want to try before you go.

I watched an absolutely devastating Spurs game on Saturday. Imagine watching all your hopes and…read moredreams being taken from you. It was a tragic night. On the flip side, the Shrimp Po' Boy I got at Strut & Dorothy was sensational. Usually when the Armadillo Den is packed out like it was last Saturday for the Spurs and Knicks Game 5 plus a World Cup Saturday, these food trucks parked inside are buzzing trying to get as many orders out as possible. Though it took a while to place an order with the huge line, once my order was placed, it was ready very shortly after. The guy running the truck apologized for the wait, which felt unnecessary because they seemed to be on top of it, but I appreciate the kindness and customer service nonetheless. Pricing is about what I expected for a food truck: $14 po' boy and $7-8 for fries served with ranch or bleu cheese. The po' boy with all the fixings was exactly what I needed to calm my hunger and nerves while watching the Spurs collapse. It wasn't the glorious night I wanted, but the po' boy was the bandage on the wound. RIYL: The most impressive seafood served in a food truck in Austin
