I ended up parking on the street. I had brunch at Dish Society and you can either order from a QR code on your table or order at the counter. I downloaded their app and initially was sent an offer for a free beverage. I ordered the Spiced Apple Cider and it hit the spot and was so warm and flavorful the perfect comfort beverage. For my breakfast entree I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, gulf shrimp, smoked gouda grits, tabasco shallot butter sauce, bacon crumbles, sunny side vital farms egg. I got the Tabasco sauce on the side and the grits had a great flavor and texture for a very savory and flavorful dish. I also came during the social hour and took advantage of $7 cocktails and ordered the spicy strawberry margarita with socorro tequila, paula's orange, jalapeño, strawberry, tajin. I used my free bday entree coupon from the app to order the Citrus glazed salmon to go. It had pan seared citrus glazed salmon with organic quinoa, tomato, red onion, avocado, citrus segments, & mint. I also added the quinoa stuffed avocado halves topped with organic citrus quinoa, tomato and onion, citrus segments, mint, & organic greens with white balsamic vinaigrette. Everything is very self-service here. Not a problem at all, just don't expect a server to attend your table. I came around 11:30 and the restaurant was pretty empty. For my lunch, I ordered the citrus glazed salmon as my entree. The salmon came beautifully prepared. It was perfectly crisp outside and tender inside. I was a little worried the dish would be too sweet or saucy, but that's not the case at all. Close to noon, the lunch crowd came and the restaurant got a lot busier. I thought this place was very delicious. You walk in and you order before you sit wherever you life. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The place is very open and Austin friendly. TLDR: Decent, classic, familiar food, but nothing worth raving about Before, you had to place your order at the counter, grab a number, and wait for your food and drinks to be brought to your table. Now, introverts can rejoice -- you can order directly from your table! Much of the remaining outdoor seating is tucked under a covered structure near the parking elevator, which felt a bit claustrophobic to me. There are so many menu items to choose from. We were entering lunch time, and so I stuck with a classic Turkey Avocado Sandwich with a side of fries. The fries were delicious and perfectly crispy, but a basic Turkey Avocado Sandwich for $17... Dish Society was okay but nothing to get excited about. It was a busy morning and I thought they forgot about me for a few minutes but then once they took my order the food did seem to come out quickly. Most of the dishes I tried looked better on their website. I had the memorial trail scramble and thought it was just okay, the chicken was a bit dry and the eggs were just boring. The granola bowl which the server recommended was good. I also tried the texas pecan pesto pasta which was good. My favorite dish which I would get again was the seared chimi steak tacos - they were excellent. Dish Society is a good for young families and there were a lot of them that morning. One little boy was shooting his noisy plastic toy gun in my direction. Parents? Parents anyone? We've been to Dish Society SEVERAL times now -- for brunch, lunch, and happy hour -- and every single visit always has some sort of hit! The food here is fresh, local, and absolutely delicious, with so much care clearly put into every dish! The vibe inside is super cute, clean, and welcoming, with a small outdoor patio that's perfect for a sunny Austin day and even if Austin's weird weather comes into play part of the outdoor seating is also covered. When we've gone it's never felt overly crowded (except one time during a morning rush, but we can see why) and the customer service has been phenomenal every time -- from staff offering great recommendations to keeping tables spotless and making sure guests are happy. We've loved everything we've tried, but a few standouts have been the Texas hot chicken sandwich (crispy, juicy, sweet, and savory perfection), the smoked salmon avocado toast (so fresh and flavorful), ranch-style eggs, and the grilled pesto chicken sandwich. During happy hour, we grabbed the burger, some bites and drinks, with the burger for sure being a must -- and the team even offered to cut the burger in half since we mentioned we were sharing. Small touches like that go a long way! Their happy hour is also a great deal and definitely worth checking out. And if you've got a sweet tooth, don't skip dessert -- the Proud Pies they source from Houston are dangerously good. We still need to go back just to do a full pie tasting! The white chocolate pretzel bread pudding was warm, rich, and gave off total almond croissant vibes. Oh, and don't sleep on the mimosa flight -- or their Mug Club, where you can purchase a YETI at their location and get free coffee refills when you bring it in. Genius! This is my 3rd time at Dish but 1st time at this location. I like how there is validated garage parking right below the building. It's super convenient and takes the stress out of finding parking. I do prefer restaurants that have table service instead of ordering at the counter. It feels more rushed to make a decision from a fairly lengthy menu. The food does taste fresh. My BLT with avocado was good but nothing special. Actually liked the fries more. The Blood Orange Lalo-ma was the winner of the day. There are plenty of indoor seats with a bar and a nice, covered outdoor space as well for this location. You can order from the tables outside via the QR code which I didn't realize until we had already ordered inside. Overall, a positive experience but hopefully the next item I order will be a little more exciting. read more

There was someone helping us through the line and he was extremely helpful in reserving a table and lifted the mood. The food came out quick and was great portions. My favorite dish is probably the salmon poke bowl, but they also have great huge salads. I just recently tried the seasonal apple goat cheese and pecan salad. Soooo good!! My friend and fiance both are obsessed with the chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun. The real star of the show here is the truffle mac and cheese. Don't pass it up! Came in on a Sunday around 3ish. The food was amazing. I had the traditional breakfast which came with bacon, eggs, fruit and waffle. I substituted the waffle for pancake and added chicken. The chicken was forgotten however that was a simple miscommunication and it got resolved quickly. Ciza (I believe that was her name) and Nelly made the experience so much better. There was a girl with medium brown/blond hair whose attitude almost made me want to leave before placing my order. She was so irritated by either me or Ciza for asking questions about my order. We came here for a Friday dinner in late June. The place was not full. So we were happy we didn't have to wait at all. By this time of the year, the temperature outside was warm. We initially sat inside but there was a screaming kid inside and the dining room inside amplified the sound. So we moved and grabbed a table outside. It was not bad in a shade. I, for one, support the expanding Dish Society empire. This is now their second location in Austin and sixth overall. I can't speak to the shops in Houston, but this new one has the edge of Mueller for their totally stress-free parking. Use the garage and get it validate for 2 hours, no muss, no fuss. Naturally, the thing that makes me want to drive the further distance is the food. They menu is careful to include options for everyone, spanning traditional brunch/egg dishes to Tex-Mex and a touch of the Mediterranean. The new Vegetarian (vegan by nature) Pita Wrap is a winner by any measure, with a soft flatbread swaddling tahini-rich hummus, crispy plant-based protein (I'm guessing a Beyond or Impossible patty?), and fresh veg and pickled onions that sparkle with mint and dill. You get all that an a pile of chips, literally. They're thick sliced kettle style and actually worth eating, not just some bulk plate filler. This is a great place to bring the family.
