Met a friend for a late lunch here last week after her training workshop. Always great food options for a last minute choice to meet for lunch. We were able to get a table quickly since we avoided the main lunch crowd. Our server was very helpful and we got our food quickly. The presentation of our soup and salad was really pretty. I always love their butternut squash soup and was glad to see it as a combo option. Since it wasn't that crowded, we could easily hear each other talking which is always a plus. She ordered the nutella mousse for dessert, and I had a bite. It was delicious! I will definitely be back here for a lunch or happy hour soon!

What a sexy little date night spot! District Kitchen is tucked into a shopping center with plenty of parking, including accessible spots, which I always appreciate. We went as two couples, and when we arrived the first thing I noticed was the cute covered patio with lots of open tables. Inside, the lighting is dim and the decor is lovely, making it a perfect spot for an intimate date night. We had a reservation and were seated right away. We probably didn't need one as they had many open tables. Our waiter was great, friendly and attentive, and checked in just the right amount. They offer beer on tap as well as cocktails, and we ordered both. The Pepino was especially yummy. For food, we skipped an appetizer to save room for dessert, and I am glad we did. Both of us ladies ordered the shrimp and grits and were so happy with that choice. Delicious. The guys went with the bison burger and the chicken milanese, and they both really enjoyed their dishes. We finished by sharing dessert, the carrot zucchini cake, seasonal crumble and the chocolate sticky toffee pudding. All of which were really tasty. It was a great night. We enjoyed the food, drinks, and ambiance. The prices run just a little on the high side, but I would go back.

Lovely new American restaurant with some fusion forward menu items. Modern space that feels upscale but also cozy and kid friendly. Our server was kind, patiently answered our questions, and had great recommendations. We ordered the shishito peppers and falafel to start. The falafel was cooked perfectly and was a huge hit with the kids. Peppers were good, a good kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. For mains we ordered the rainbow trout and the fesenjoon. The trout was amazing! So delicious, light yet filling and served on top of a beautiful wild rice pilaf with a side of Brussels sprouts. Healthy and so tasty! Fesenjoon is what I'd describe as a Persian chicken mole - the sauce is an acquired taste. Unique flavor profile which I found enjoyable. They served us a complimentary Nutella mousse as it was my dad's birthday which was the perfect end to our meal. Really enjoyed the experience and will certainly be back!

Plenty of parking and love the colors inside, very inviting. Popped in for brunch and the menu had a lot to offer. Went with a classic fried egg sandwich which was juicy and bread toasty. The fries were honestly one of the best fries I've ever had! Well done! The wait staff were attentive and nice, I do feel like our table was an awkward table though to be able to connect with them but that wasn't their fault. If I lived closer to north Austin I'd be back more.

I went here for my birthday and the food was great! It's a little pricey but the quality is up there and the service was great!

What a lovely place! Came here with my friends during happy hour. Right away the service was excellent. No waiting and very attentive staff. We order almost all the appetizers and a couple of mocktails. The food was very tasty and plentiful for 4 people. The shishito peppers were hot but not unbearable to eat and the sauces were all so delicious. We also ordered the street tacos, the hummus, and the kabobs. The meats and veggies were fresh, very tasty and perfect sizes. I don't know why I never been to this place before, but now I do want to come back. It's so pretty inside and the outside is great now that the weather is getting nice. I want to come back to try an entre and have an actual dinner. What I had today was great. I'm sure there's way more to explore here.

What a gem! The moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect--low lights, soft music, and an air temperature that even a Goldilocks-level "just right" person like me could appreciate. This place is gluten-free friendly, the staff was warm, personable, and genuinely eager to help. They also source locally whenever possible, which I love. Even my gluten-free bun was scratch-made by a local bakery--and it was so good I actually double-checked that it was truly gluten free. (It was!) I ordered the grilled shrimp burger with the bib salad, and both were outstanding--crisp bib lettuce, radish, red onion, cucumber, and goat cheese. The shrimp burger included blackened Cajun shrimp, creamy remoulade, a perfect slice of tomato, all stacked on that amazing GF bun. Fresh, bright, and delicious. Great atmosphere, thoughtful food, and service that makes you feel cared for. Can't wait to go back!

    Bison Burger Dinner

I love when I have an opportunity to spend some time in Austin!! Especially when I can have dinner with my son and brother-in-law. We decided on District Kitchen because of the variety. It had been a minute since I had visited and was thrilled to be returning. The service was perfect, thank you Courtney, cordial and sweet. We did not need reservations, coming in around 7:50 PM on a Tuesday evening. Perfect ambiance, peaceful and candles on the tables. Love the menu options, for starters we had the Falafel Fritters, the Traditional Hummus (SO good) AND the bread. The bread is a must have. Absolutely delicious. Can't even describe how it melts in your mouth and so perfect. I ordered the Bison burger, medium, it was good. My son had the Lemon Shrimp Ravioli and liked it. My brother-in-law had the Chicken Milanese, he took some home for next day lunch because of all the appetizers. He also ordered a side of Goat Cheese Mashers and stated it was too much goat cheese, flavor wise not his favorite. Really good food and great presentation. A little on the pricey side for my taste, $200 for 3 people includes tip and one glass of alcohol each. This is solely my opinion, the cost of food is rising. Well worth the visit. We will be returning

Love a great HH. The drinks here are well poured and well made. They have plenty of food and drink options on theHH menu to meet a variety of people. The falafel was by far my favorite thing. It's pillowy and soft rather than being a hard puck. The lamb kebabs were well seasoned and very moist. Their hummus tasted very fresh and was very straightforward-- no frills-- but absolutely delicious. The restaurant was pretty empty so service was quick and parking was plentiful. Will definitely be returning here for happy hour.

    Mushroom omelet

We visited District Kitchen for brunch last minute with a party of 12, and they were able to seat us immediately with no wait, which was a pleasant surprise! I ordered a mimosa and the mushroom omelette, which was absolutely delicious. The combination of goat cheese and mushrooms was a fantastic pairing--something I wouldn't have thought of but really enjoyed. The smashed potatoes, however, were just okay. I didn't love the addition of sugar, which felt a bit unusual. Overall, it was a great brunch spot with plenty of vegetarian options and good service. I'd definitely go back!

You can really taste the love that went into all this food. This is a food truck right across from HEB mueller in that swimming pool parking lot. She's only open on the weekends and her food can be ordered on DoorDash but she has more menu items in person than on DoorDash. I online ordered and picked up 3 different orders. 2 of them were not ready and she had me wait in my car and she brought them out to me so I didn't melt in the heat. Now the important stuff the menu... Ok who knew you could fry ribs?!?! They were on point. 4 to an order. Ribs were still moist, the batter had a crunch, and the meat fell off the bone. The dirty rice was the best dirty rice I've ever eaten. It was loaded up with seafood The smothered pork chops were 2 to an order and 2 sides served on a bed of white rice. Also very moist and great flavor, the Mac n cheese was not runny which I personally hate when it's just a runny mess, the fried cabbage also had a great flavor and it was still crunchy. The jerk chicken had great flavor but it was ordered as mild (not by me) and it definitely needed the heat/spice,the jumbalaya side was also tasty We also got the hot Cheetos boudin balls (I forgot to take a picture) they were huge and not spicy at first bite the heat sneaks up on you. The strawberry crunch cake was a big slice and reminded me of strawberry cake doughnut but that banana pudding was also probably the best banana pudding I've ever eaten. I felt all the portions were huge and prices were fair. This definitely not a food truck to sleep on. I've been told she makes great oxtails but they sell out fast.

I highly recommend getting different tapas instead of the main courses so you can try different things. My friend and I shared a tea leaf salad as appetizer, and it lives up to the best I had in Myanmar. We both tried variations on the Shan noodle entree, dry (as opposed to a soup-based version) and both the chicken and pork types were delicious, with a wonderful complexity of flavors and textures. So very sad as I was hoping to find a good Mexican seafood option in Austin. I was told that this restaurant is owned by the same folks that operate Casa Chapala, where I have had great experiences. Hopefully this place will improve over time.

I had to get in some cajon food in this town…read more this restaurant is very close to my hotel and I have been eyeing it ever since I got here. finally, checked it out a couple days ago. i order the catfish gumbo which comes with 2 sides. I got beans with rice and the veggie of the day, also got a shiner bock beer for 5 bucks. total with tip was ~33 i think i gave 5bucks tip the fish gumbo was really good. i also really like the beans with rice. it has a slightly different flavor profile but also very good. i think this place is a hidden gem.... good portions, decent price, and easy parking, had to figure out another P for a triple P. i think this was better than when I got rip off on bourbon street, yrs back. that was straight up super expensive double charge the tourist stuff...

As soon as you walk into this spot, it feels truly transformed. It's like a time capsule of old…read moretimey New Orleans. We tried to go to happy hour with my partner's parents, but that was only available in the bar area. Given they have some health problems to consider, we could not move over and hover over teeny tables to have dinner so had to handle full price. At full price, I'd give it a solid 3.5. Bumped to a 4 because this is hard to find around here. We got: - shrimp yoli (if you only order one dish, get one with this SAUCE. It's to die for. The shrimp had too much seasoning that it was a little choke worthy and I NEVER complain about flavor. Just lighten up a little!) - escargot (the butter was broken.. so it was kinda rough) -catfish gumbo (solid portion) -redfish add lump crab (while we enjoyed this, it was pricy for what it was) -shrimp and crawfish pasta (good) -orange crème brûlée (light.. not my fav crème brûlée ever but fun to try) - chocolate cake brownie with ice cream
