What a sexy little date night spot! District Kitchen is tucked into a shopping center with plenty of parking, including accessible spots, which I always appreciate. We went as two couples, and when we arrived the first thing I noticed was the cute covered patio with lots of open tables. Inside, the lighting is dim and the decor is lovely, making it a perfect spot for an intimate date night. We had a reservation and were seated right away. We probably didn't need one as they had many open tables. Our waiter was great, friendly and attentive, and checked in just the right amount. They offer beer on tap as well as cocktails, and we ordered both. The Pepino was especially yummy. For food, we skipped an appetizer to save room for dessert, and I am glad we did. Both of us ladies ordered the shrimp and grits and were so happy with that choice. Delicious. The guys went with the bison burger and the chicken milanese, and they both really enjoyed their dishes. We finished by sharing dessert, the carrot zucchini cake, seasonal crumble and the chocolate sticky toffee pudding. All of which were really tasty. It was a great night. We enjoyed the food, drinks, and ambiance. The prices run just a little on the high side, but I would go back.

Lovely new American restaurant with some fusion forward menu items. Modern space that feels upscale but also cozy and kid friendly. Our server was kind, patiently answered our questions, and had great recommendations. We ordered the shishito peppers and falafel to start. The falafel was cooked perfectly and was a huge hit with the kids. Peppers were good, a good kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. For mains we ordered the rainbow trout and the fesenjoon. The trout was amazing! So delicious, light yet filling and served on top of a beautiful wild rice pilaf with a side of Brussels sprouts. Healthy and so tasty! Fesenjoon is what I'd describe as a Persian chicken mole - the sauce is an acquired taste. Unique flavor profile which I found enjoyable. They served us a complimentary Nutella mousse as it was my dad's birthday which was the perfect end to our meal. Really enjoyed the experience and will certainly be back!

I went here for my birthday and the food was great! It's a little pricey but the quality is up there and the service was great!

Plenty of parking and love the colors inside, very inviting. Popped in for brunch and the menu had a lot to offer. Went with a classic fried egg sandwich which was juicy and bread toasty. The fries were honestly one of the best fries I've ever had! Well done! The wait staff were attentive and nice, I do feel like our table was an awkward table though to be able to connect with them but that wasn't their fault. If I lived closer to north Austin I'd be back more.

What a lovely place! Came here with my friends during happy hour. Right away the service was excellent. No waiting and very attentive staff. We order almost all the appetizers and a couple of mocktails. The food was very tasty and plentiful for 4 people. The shishito peppers were hot but not unbearable to eat and the sauces were all so delicious. We also ordered the street tacos, the hummus, and the kabobs. The meats and veggies were fresh, very tasty and perfect sizes. I don't know why I never been to this place before, but now I do want to come back. It's so pretty inside and the outside is great now that the weather is getting nice. I want to come back to try an entre and have an actual dinner. What I had today was great. I'm sure there's way more to explore here.

What a gem! The moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect--low lights, soft music, and an air temperature that even a Goldilocks-level "just right" person like me could appreciate. This place is gluten-free friendly, the staff was warm, personable, and genuinely eager to help. They also source locally whenever possible, which I love. Even my gluten-free bun was scratch-made by a local bakery--and it was so good I actually double-checked that it was truly gluten free. (It was!) I ordered the grilled shrimp burger with the bib salad, and both were outstanding--crisp bib lettuce, radish, red onion, cucumber, and goat cheese. The shrimp burger included blackened Cajun shrimp, creamy remoulade, a perfect slice of tomato, all stacked on that amazing GF bun. Fresh, bright, and delicious. Great atmosphere, thoughtful food, and service that makes you feel cared for. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent food! Best salmon salad I have ever had, I ate ever bite of it. The cocktail was delicious and beautiful. Dessert was over the top flavorful with a unique but well paired group of flavors. Service was quick at lunch and it's a beautifully designed space if you want to dine in style.

Another tasty dinner with great service. Thanks Carter (See photo). Love this place. Upscale, cozy feel. Great Happy Hour! Really good Chicken Karachi and fresh Massachusetts raw oysters. Yum! Wagyu steak was delicious, served with well-seasoned potatoes and onion rings. Great salad too. Carter is a wonderful server!

    Bison Burger Dinner

I love when I have an opportunity to spend some time in Austin!! Especially when I can have dinner with my son and brother-in-law. We decided on District Kitchen because of the variety. It had been a minute since I had visited and was thrilled to be returning. The service was perfect, thank you Courtney, cordial and sweet. We did not need reservations, coming in around 7:50 PM on a Tuesday evening. Perfect ambiance, peaceful and candles on the tables. Love the menu options, for starters we had the Falafel Fritters, the Traditional Hummus (SO good) AND the bread. The bread is a must have. Absolutely delicious. Can't even describe how it melts in your mouth and so perfect. I ordered the Bison burger, medium, it was good. My son had the Lemon Shrimp Ravioli and liked it. My brother-in-law had the Chicken Milanese, he took some home for next day lunch because of all the appetizers. He also ordered a side of Goat Cheese Mashers and stated it was too much goat cheese, flavor wise not his favorite. Really good food and great presentation. A little on the pricey side for my taste, $200 for 3 people includes tip and one glass of alcohol each. This is solely my opinion, the cost of food is rising. Well worth the visit. We will be returning

Love a great HH. The drinks here are well poured and well made. They have plenty of food and drink options on theHH menu to meet a variety of people. The falafel was by far my favorite thing. It's pillowy and soft rather than being a hard puck. The lamb kebabs were well seasoned and very moist. Their hummus tasted very fresh and was very straightforward-- no frills-- but absolutely delicious. The restaurant was pretty empty so service was quick and parking was plentiful. Will definitely be returning here for happy hour.

    Mushroom omelet

We visited District Kitchen for brunch last minute with a party of 12, and they were able to seat us immediately with no wait, which was a pleasant surprise! I ordered a mimosa and the mushroom omelette, which was absolutely delicious. The combination of goat cheese and mushrooms was a fantastic pairing--something I wouldn't have thought of but really enjoyed. The smashed potatoes, however, were just okay. I didn't love the addition of sugar, which felt a bit unusual. Overall, it was a great brunch spot with plenty of vegetarian options and good service. I'd definitely go back!

Rainbow Trout was great. I had not been here for awhile and forgot how great this place is. You need to give them a try.

The steak I ordered was made to order perfect, as I like it mad rare and mooing, but had heavy seasoning on it. Not sure if that is signature to Perry's, as I'd personally rather let a good cut of steak speak for itself. It took away from the natural flavor, so I'd ask for no seasoning next time. Overall, I…read morethink Ember Kitchen is certainly worth checking out, but I think I might order a little differently next time. First off - parking is convenient in the Seaholm parking garage. My understanding is that Ember will validate, but it wasn't apparent to me how that works and honestly I walked out forgetting it and having to pay the bill for parking - oh well. I came with a party of six and we were celebrating a birthday. The team at Ember was very accommodating. We were seated downstairs in their "Speakeasy" room. It's a bit dark, but cool atmosphere. There are other dining options if you prefer a bit brighter setting. We were served complimentary birthday shots! These were quite tasty - enough so that I ordered another round of those citrus based shooters. Everyone at the table ordered a cocktail. Nearly all the cocktails on the menu are going to be served in a feminine looking glass and with a flower. The cocktail menu is pretty much for the ladies. On the bright side, they have a good selection of bourbons, tequila, etc available for straight pours at a decent price. Not extensive selection, but I think a good choice - enough that I think you will find something to fit your price point and taste profile. Our waitress was top notch. Very attentive and paid close attention to the orders from our gluten sensitive guest ensuring she ordered safely. We ordered a couple small plates as appetizers for the whole table. Everyone loved the crab cake. I thought it was tasty but wasn't expecting whole kernel corn in a crab cake so that threw me off a little. Market seafood crudo - this is a fish appetizer and as the name implies changes based on availability. The night we ate was a Hamachi or Salmon option. The salmon had a bit more of a spicy sauce so we chose that. It was a hit. We also chose a tuna tartare and it was fresh, good but didn't knock our socks off. When ready for the main course - our waitress had a number of off-menu specials to tell us about and honestly many were very interesting options. In fact, we chose to split a 50oz Tomahawk steak. This was a huge steak plated on a hot platter, already sliced off the bone with some fingerling potatoes. This was honestly the most expensive part of the meal (no surprise), but also the least impressive. Now visually it was a spectacle for sure, but the meat certainly had pieces that were tough with some large pieces of fat. Now I don't mind the fat, but when sliced there were a couple pieces that were nothing but fat, other pieces still that were mostly gristle. We all agreed the seasoning was just missing, it seemed to have no seasoning at all. It was also quite charred. One of the claims to fame here is their Josper oven and clearly it can put a good char on a steak. Some in our party liked it, but I thought it was a bit much. There can be fine line between a good steak crust and a burnt crust. I thought it was a bit much, and maybe why the seasoning seemed missing. On the bright side, it was cooked correctly to order. My only problem was, for the price, this was a complete miss. We also ordered scallops and the morida shrimp. Both were excellent. These were probably worth coming back for. The morida shrimp come served in a bowl with a rich sauce that was enjoyed by the whole party. The scallops come pan seared and were cooked perfectly - which is key to enjoying a good scallop. Be aware that the typical order of scallops though comes with only two scallops - rather light even for a single individual, because these were not on the "small plates" menu, it was supposed to be a full entree. Great experience overall, but we just felt not quite worth what we had to pay for it. Overall, it was just over $150 per person. What could have saved it - for that price, the steak HAS to be on point.
