    West coaster panini with soup
    Mary S.

I just love to have been able to come back and try more of their menu. Our large group was celebrating, so we had several boards to share. For lunch, I tried the West coaster panini, with minestrone soup instead of a salad. Everything was great. The service was very patient and friendly to our large group. It was a work group, so unfortunately no one was brave to order wine, but it goes to show you that this place caters to nondrinkers as well.

Postino is always a little luxury I give myself -- wine and bread, what more could you ask for??! The Bruschetta Board is the star of the show. My personal favorites: 1. Sweet N' Spicy Pepper Jam & Goat Cheese 2. French Onion 3. Prosciutto di Parma, Fig & Mascarpone 4. Brie, Apple & Fig I had no idea I was such a fan of fig--but now I can't get enough! It balances the salty richness of the bread with just the right touch of sweetness. And I'm not typically a goat cheese girl, but you honestly can't even tell here -- the spicy pepper jam completely steals the show with that spicy, sweet, and tangy kick.

Date night...Postino Bryker Woods. My hubby and I decided to try this restaurant before we went on our quest for a washer and dryer (ours went kaput!). I had been to this restaurant but the hubs had not. We ordered the bruschetta board, roasted sweet potatoes and a glass of prosecco. The hubs rarely drinks. We try to do date once a week, but it does not always work out. We have workers in our home for the last two months, so it puts a damper on date night when they work into the evening. Tobias was our server, but he pointed out that he was interchangeable with any of the wait staff. He quickly took our order and then disappeared. Our food was ready in breakneck speed. Salmon, bacon and fig boards. All were delicious were filling with the sweet potatoes being a bonus. The prosecco was generously poured. We were extremely pleased with the food and drink. We look forward to visiting Postino Bryker Woods again soon. Also, now that the workers are gone, date nights are back on again!

I was new to Postino, the chain that took over the long-abandoned Burger King. What an upgrade! Postino specializes in bruschetta and has a pretty extensive wine list, plus soups and other lunch-type options. I made a reservation for Sunday brunch and honestly didn't need one, it wasn't crowded at all. My guess is they're not the first place people think of for classic brunch fare like pancakes, breakfast tacos, and big egg plates. They did have French toast, scrambled eggs, and avocado toast on the menu if you're craving something breakfast-y. Happy hour runs until 5, so it's a great spot for slightly more affordable drinks and sharing snacks. It really feels like this place was built for happy hour. We ordered the chicken & mozzarella sandwich and the Italian beef dip. The beef dip came with a hot au jus and was the favorite at the table. The chicken sandwich was decent, but the chicken leaned a bit dry. It came with a spicy aioli, but could have used a bit more sauce or maybe a second spread to bring it together. Service was great! The staff was welcoming from the start and asked thoughtful questions like whether anyone had allergies. They were also very patient and accommodating with our party, which included older hearing-impaired parents. Overall, a really great experience and nice to have in the neighborhood.

This was my second or third visit to this location since the Yelp events at both local spots. For a chain establishment, it sure has all the feels. The decor is warm and welcoming as are the staff. The bruschetta boards are amazeballs! The wine selection is incredible. My favorite offering is the late-night special Board & a Bottle $25. Can't beat it. Had Friendsmas celebration with dear friends met through Yelp! We had a blast exchanging gifts, eating, & drinking. Our server was so rad...because we were there to celebrate friendship for the holidays, she gave us an order of donuts on the house. What a sweet surprise!

We had a wonderful lunch with the fam! The staff was friendly and the ambiance was great! We ordered a board to start with and we each tried different options. Everything was amazing!

I love postino and every time I come here I am reminded how much I enjoy it! The wine cult membership is no longer around. It's now bottle club I believe. They offer more options for people who wanted more variety. The club is well Worth the money. You get a few discounts and some cute items when joining the club (wine tote, wine stoppers, etc). I ordered bruschetta to go after work when I picked up my bottles and had amazing service from the people working (front check in table and manager). I can't wait to go back so I can try more of the menu!

OMG grilled cheese with tomato soup

Relaxing dim ambiance was a nice touch to dining and the friendly informed staff was excellent. They have a bar area and spacious dining but yet the place isn't huge and I like that. Parking is small but we found parking right away and we went on a late friday night. Food was served in a timely manner and was all so good. I had the bruschetta board. You can choose four types. I got the apple with brie, prosciutto, mozzarella with tomato and spicy pepper jam. We also ordered the OMG grilled cheese that comes with tomato soup. For dessert we had the donut holes but I call them an elevated funnel cake balls that weren't too sweet and so soft; they came with 3 dips. I definitely recommend this place and will return to try more to try. They have happy hour deals and a board & wine deal on mon and tues.

    Bruschetta boards and mushroom fondue

I am a fan of Postino's. Compared to the Lamar location, this location has free parking, which is a bonus. The dining space is also larger. I already fell in love with their mushroom fondue on my first visit, so I already knew I couldn't go a visit without it. We also had 2 bruschetta boards with a variety of toppings and everything was delicious. The high rise sauv blanc is light and crisp. It did take a hot minute for the food to come out, but it was worth it. Our server was kind and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

    Smoked Salmon board

Came here with reservation and seated at the round table with very cozy chair. Love! Came here with my son. This is the third Postino review for Yelp event I did! But this Postino has that classier cozier feel. We had the bruschetta board: choices---prosciutto, fig and mascarpione, smoked salmon with pesto, burrata, bacon arugula and tomato, fresh mozzarella with tomato and basil. Had the novia azul wine-smooth yet strong. We also ordered the smoked salmon board because this is one of my faves in Postino. Shout out to Matt as he was very pleasant---checked on us regularly. His service really made us feel at home! The notes you can write and stick on the wall was a nice touch. Clean restrooms with that almost Tuscan feel handwashing area. The lighting, food, wine and the service was superb. A little bit crowded---but not loud. Parking was not easy at peak times I gathered.

This was my first time eating at a Postino's, and it was a wonderful experience! First win: plenty of handicap parking near the entrance. (Small detail, huge difference.) The friendly hostess greeted us right away and seated us immediately (we did have a reservation). The place looks great -- cool artwork. One thing I really loved was their community server system--it made us feel well cared for. We had Jo as our server, and honestly, she deserves a five-star review. She was funny, friendly, and knew the food and wine list like she wrote it. Our drinks never hit empty -- which, let's be real, is the true sign of greatness. Now the food... Out of the bruschetta lineup, the chef's street corn stole my heart. No, really. If it doesn't make the permanent menu, I might cry. We also got Nick's Board (total yumminess) and the OMG Grilled Cheese with tomato soup dip, which had me saying exactly that: OMG. I had absolutely no room left for dessert, so I took their doughnut holes to go. Reheated days later, they were still very tasty! My husband liked the wine, and we basically ate and drank ourselves into fat happiness. Bottom line: great food, great people, great vibes. Postino's is officially on our regular rotation.

We were able to swing by during their Happy Hour and sample the bruschetta board, cauliflower, and a few glasses of wine. The board was large enough and toasts were cut for sharing - we selected the artichoke, brie, mushroom, and pistachio - and they were all delish. As veg-forward folks we enjoyed the cauliflower too - the sauce was buffalo-leaning but creamier! And we had to try the donut dots - it wasn't anything too wild but was a fun treat at the end of our meal - piping hot donuts. The team works in groups and we always had someone stopping by to check on us. They were so kind about helping with a wine selection, too. We will be back. Tips: *plenty of parking *$25 bottle of wine + board Mondays and Tuesdays after 8pm *You can make a reservation. It wasn't too full at Happy Hour before 5, but was pretty full even on a Monday after 5pm

Postino is a charming spot located along 35th St! There's a parking lot right out front, which is really convenient. We came on a Sunday around 11:15 am and were seated pretty much immediately. The restaurant interior is modern and spacious, with lots of natural light that created a refreshing ambiance. Our server was also very attentive in checking on us throughout the meal. Prosciutto & Brie Panini ($16, 4.5/5) - Classic combination of savory with some sweetness! Features prosciutto, brie, fig jam, arugula, with side of romaine salad or potato chips. The arugula adds just a bit of bitterness to balance everything out. - You can choose between ciabatta and focaccia - we went with focaccia which was delicious! - On the pricier end for a sandwich but the ingredients are very fresh. Overall, would recommend checking out Postino! Great location, service, and solid food. Looking forward to coming back & trying other items on the menu.

When you enter, you'll see the infamous black paint on white walls mural but then you're transformed into something more. An elegant and elevated high-end speakeasy that transports you to what life in speakeasy settings must have felt like in the days of olde. Who doesn't love being greeted by a tasteful, giant, fake bear with welcome cocktails? The low-lit space brings a feeling of warmth, secrecy, romance, and mystery. You absolutely get the feeling you're in a special and secret hideaway space. From the refined wallpaper to hand blown glass lighting fixtures to the lush and velvety sofa seating, you are truly immersed in the vibe. It brings a feeling of noir and romance with even sexier drinks. Being seated in one of the nooks is my favorite and just really adds to the overall experience. If you follow my reviews then you know I often refer to excellent cocktails as liquid works of art. And, in this case, it's like the most exclusive, high-end art gallery of liquid masterpieces. Cocktails with branded cubes, top tier alcohol and other ingredients from around the globe make for a worthy piece of drinkable art. It doesn't end with cocktails! The mocktails are equally as beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend the cocktails and mocktails. Service is exactly what you would expect and want it to be in this environment. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than average but you're paying for art, atmosphere, and experience that is beyond wonderful.

It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. Great house music from the DJ, friendly staff, and an easygoing atmosphere that's perfect for hanging out. I was having a sober night and tried a few drinks from their Dry January Specials menu. Wow, they did not disappoint. The Alrighty Aphrodite was delicious, and the So Fresh, So Clean was exactly that, super refreshing with a great pineapple flavor. My husband had the Dusty Trail (strong and perfect for bourbon lovers) and a Coquito that was creamy and smooth with a hint of cinnamon. Parking is limited, but we found street parking nearby. Overall, great drinks, great music, and a spot I'll definitely keep coming back to.

Marlow's has a really in interesting and delicious drink menu. I tried both mocktails (option to add THC) and really enjoyed them both. Most mocktails with NA liquor have honestly tasted a bit weird and a bit off. I usually have one and call it a day. However, I really enjoyed the first one that I tried the second one, which I also liked. The bartenders work amazingly fast and take multiple drink orders at a time and don't miss a beat! There's street parking and during weekdays, it's free to park after a certain hour.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

It's a rainy night in Austin. My girlfriend is in town because my cousin and her fiancé are getting…read moremarried in Austin. It's also the weekend of our one year anniversary. An hour ago it wasn't raining, but now it's pouring. A few months ago, I heard of a newer bar and experience called Equipment Room just right off of South Congress. Music means everything to me. Nothing can express emotions and instill a feeling in 3 minutes like a song can. I live for that. Equipment Room is inherently Japanese in concept. Existing in Japan for over 50 years, listening bars combine high fidelity audio equipment with impressively crafted cocktails and alcohol combining the passion of music in a space to gather with comfortable chairs and a beautiful atmosphere. The concept has expanded westward as all cool things inevitably do, but I would never think a spot would be successful in Austin like it would be in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and so on. As I back my car into a parking spot on South Congress, I grab the umbrella out of my trunk and walk my girlfriend and me to the entrance trying to not get ourselves soaked in the process. This is not the first time we have tried to go to Equipment Room. We tried to get a walk-in table just to see out of morbid curiosity and that was a failure. I booked her and me a table for this night and I was madly looking forward to it. As we got to the small entrance, we were introduced to the hostess who brought us from the stairs into the main underground space and to our seats on the couch in a large wraparound sofa with other parties sitting near us. The music is faint from the entrance, but once you walk through the main walkway, a wave of sound hits your eardrums. You're immediately engrossed into the music like walking into a concert hall or putting a fresh pair of headphones on for the first time. As we sat down, selections from Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik were playing through the speakers. Our hostess introduced us to their "User Manual" (their menu) where it contained all the snacks and drinks you could get your grubby hands on. There's more than just drinks and food on the menu. The first page introduces the concept and gives a few house rules. The second page shows all the equipment this so-called room has, from the premium Klipsch speakers, their preamps and amplifiers as well as their turntables and mixers. It's a dream page for music nerds. I want a $15k speaker in my apartment, but those noise complaints would never end. Our waitress came by shortly to give us water and take our order. Their menu is quite expansive, but the main pages we were told to check out were their A-side drinks or the classics and their B-side drinks, which are more experimental. We had to go with experimental for starters because who knows when you'll get to try something similar again. I started with a Goca Dünya while my girlfriend ordered a Deceptacon. The Goca Dünya was a vodka based floral drink with pistachio foam and Amaro Nonino, an Italian herbal liqueur. The Deceptacon was a rum-based cacao drink with a touch of lime and mint. It took a little time for our drinks to come out, clearly, as they are quite intricate. I loved my drink, bluntly. The pistachio foam was a great balance to the herbal flavors at the bottom. My girlfriend and I continued to enjoy each other's company as the music continued. The space we were in was decorated with posters and memorabilia from legendary artists coming through Austin and some general music decor like that purple album from that Prince guy. The DJ-curator that night was on a tear playing incredible soul music holding the bar hostage with a taste of funk. Jimmy Smith came next before transitioning to a few tracks from Bobbie Gentry. The last albums he pulled out were Steely Dan's Aja (a stone cold classic) and Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life (a top 10 album of all time). Not only was he playing classics like Isn't She Lovely, but he threw down some deeper cuts like Black Man and Contusion. Incredible. We both got another drink with my girlfriend getting their A-Side Espresso Martini while I got the Brown Sugar from their B-Sides. It was a seaweed and mushroom infused whiskey with a few more bells and whistles and it was super unique. Quite a bit of their menu is Japanese-inspired in homage to the originators of listening bars. This includes Japanese beer, sake, and Japanese-inspired food and beverages on their menu. Very cool. The worst part of the night came when our hour and 45 minute reservation came to a close. I could've stayed there for another 3 hours and never grown tired, but with how popular this space has become, they gotta kick you out at some point. This is an experience you have to have. It's worth it. I'll be strolling back in soon enough because there is nothing like this in Austin and it's truly a special space. RIYL: Actively listening to music.

The dark and elegant decor, lighting, design, & layout made me feel as though I were in a high-end Tokyo cocktail lounge. The front room as I mentioned is an intimate bar and lounge area with artwork adorning the walls. It's a modern, minimalist, and sleek space. The artwork is ever-changing (every couple of months or so) and the cocktail menu changes right long with it. Note: artwork is available for purchase. What an absolutely glorious way of combining different mediums (liquid art vs physical art). The craft cocktails & mocktails are the epitome of works of art.
