Burrata
Amber L.

Right off the I-35 lies your next Italian date night spot. Gino's is a cozy spot serving up savory pasta in a quiet, intimate setting. The service is great, and the interior screams Italian restaurant (in a good way). Our waitress was phenomenal, making jokes, taking photos of us, and giving fantastic dining recommendations. We were there for a birthday dinner so we came as a large party and everything from arrival to the end was very smooth and done with fantastic service. Parking is easy to find but you may have to settle for the accompanying lots as their front of house lot is somewhat small. Our party ordered many different things but what we ate/tried were the house bread, burrata, gnocchi di pesce, spaghetti e polpette, chocolate cake, and the tiramisu. We also ordered their berry cosmo as a drink. Here's a quick rundown of everything we ate: the house bread was great, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The burrata was creamy and pretty filling, well balanced. The gnocchi di pesce was very good with chunks of fish and shrimp throughout, very filing and savory. The spaghetti e polpette was surprisingly a miss; it was unexpectedly spicy and the texture was a bit al dente. The chocolate cake was very rich, absolutely delicious with every bite. The tiramisu was perfect, creamy and full of coffee flavor. Last but not least, the berry cosmo was sweet yet powerful, a bit too strong for our liking but we can see how others would love it alongside their meal. By the end of our meal we were very happy with the food, service, and atmosphere. The price was a bit high but that's to be expected in an Italian restaurant of this quality. Even when we were there till past closing they never made us feel rushed and took care of us like we were the first customers of the day. Gino's is a great spot for an intimate date night or for anyone looking for good, classic Italian food. We recommend it to anyone looking for a spot in the area to eat or go out on a nice date.

We came in at 6 PM on a Saturday night and there was plenty of seating still available. There was plenty of parking available in the parking lot when we went. The interior is decorated as an old school Italian family run restaurant. Our server was very friendly and gave us great wine recommendations and even brought us some tasters. She came out with complementary garlic bread. One was nicely toasted, but the other was not toasted. I ordered ravioli, which was delicious, but had too much cheese on top for my liking. Their portion sizes are large, and I left feeling full.

Nice place, really nice people. Well made cocktails. Nice wine selection. Generous apps. That bread is really all you need. Got the special - mushroom ravioli and sausage in Alfredo sauce. Pretty tasty. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals.

Great service, good ambience, one-note food. Had the special, braised beef stuffed ravioli with sausage. Was good, but tasted the Alfredo sauce more than anything. App ravioli tasted like the oil it was fried in more than anything, sauce was advertised as spicy but was fairly bland.

If you are looking for traditional Italian food then look no further. This place is a hidden gem in my book now! I enjoy Italian food and I have found that many places don't deliver on some of the more basic items this jersey boy grew up on. Austin I love you but it takes me back to have Veal Parm or a nice Spaghetti and Meatballs or Lasagne dish. This isn't a chain either like Boca do Beppo or Olive Garden. When I sat to eat here I saw one of the owners working. The place is quaint yet there were enough tables when I ate here although to be fair it was Super Bowl day so it was a bit slow. The drinks are great, the bread is great, the mains were amazing, and of course the wine was delicious. You have to try this place and it will be on my rotation from now on. The one item to look for though is parking - it has a weird one way are so you may find yourself circling to park and walking up. Enjoy!

If I could give 6 stars to Gino's I would. We were staying at The Residence Inn of University Area, where we've stayed a few times, however we just found this fabulous wine bar/restaurant that is 2 doors down on the backside. We arrived 30 minutes before they were set to close with the intention to have a quick glass of wine. Walked in to a quaint environment that will take you to New York neighborhood restaurant. The aroma of Italian food made me almost feel hungry though we just stuffed ourselves at dinner right before. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass or bottle and various cocktails. The bartender was wonderful! We ended up getting the lemon cake for dessert and Wowzer, it was fantastic! I will be coming back every Austin visit!

Eggplant parmigiana went to the top of my husband list of the best. The filet mignon and ravioli special was so good. We sampled two Montepulcianos. Both good.

I enjoyed my dining experience at Gino's. The food was cooked well. Pasta was al dente and the sauces were delicious. I got the seafood linguine and gnocchi. The gnocchi dish is a cheese lovers dream. I will definitely go again.

Does anyone know when the second location in Round Rock is opening? I saw the signs were up but no dates😢

They are still waiting for a few final inspections as well as TABC. Gino is hoping for 2-3 weeks...fingers crossed.

Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. I ordered a mimosa that had high quality ingredients and was perfectly balanced...so smooth. We were also pleased with the drinks. This was the first time at Rosé Gosé, however, it definitely will not be the last.

Their drink number seven, which is basically a Yuzu gin sour is literally my favorite drink and all of Austin and still continues to be that way. Their food is also pretty decent, but I primarily go there for the drinks. Gotta get my wraps done before it actually closes down because I still don't know how to stay around

BUY IN STORE -- Not online…read more I truly hate writing this review because Rebel Cheese's products are excellent but the fulfillment and customer experience were a mess from start to finish. I ordered a holiday cheese box on December 3 as a Christmas gift. My card was charged immediately. The order never shipped, and I received no communication until I followed up myself, multiple times. After the holidays, I learned (only because I kept pushing) that my order had been internally canceled due to a system glitch, with no email, no refund, and no outreach. I was repeatedly told it would ship on specific dates that came and went. A replacement order was finally sent in January. It arrived late, wet, with melted and ruptured ice packs, and the cheese was very soft to the point my friends weren't sure it was safe to eat. The box also lacked the gift note that was supposed to be included. What bothers me most is that my card would have stayed charged indefinitely if I hadn't chased this down myself. That's not okay especially for perishable food. It's a real shame, because the product itself is great. But based on this experience, I can't recommend ordering gifts or anything time-sensitive unless the fulfillment and communication processes dramatically improve.

I was hosting several vegan family and friends for Thanksgiving, and planned to serve their cheeses as an appetizer for all 15 guests. I followed their shipping date cut off and ordered well before the cut off. I ordered 11 days before Thanksgiving. On the Monday before I still had not received any communication about my order and their website said it was being processed. I tried to call and got a message that they were too busy to answer the phone and to send an email instead. I sent the email and the reply was We are very busy but doing everything we can to fulfill orders. They promised to overnight any orders not shipped on Monday. On the day before Thanksgiving I found out they did not ship my order and essentially asked that I understand because they are so busy. They offered to ship my order later and they would throw something in for free for my inconvenience. This was a standard poorly written customer communication. I replied and explained how after their reassurances they had left me without my order or sufficient time to find a suitable replacement. This time a got a genuine reply from Luis, but same offer full refund, or some free item. It nice for them that they are so busy that they can't fulfill customer orders on time. My experience was being left holding the bag last minute and not much in the way of an apology.

They do provide menu pricing, but you're given a sheet to fill out what you want to pay, and I wasn't totally sure what was expected. It made the overall value feel unclear--and that's even considering I paid quite a bit less than what the meal would normally cost. That said, the atmosphere and the people were enjoyable, and I do like the idea behind offering this kind of night. It just didn't fully come together for me from a food and value standpoint.
