Amazing happy hour! Half off pizzas and wine from 4-530 daily. I was worried I wouldn't get a seat but they had plenty of room. I got a seat at the bar and was served immediately. Was explained the menu and pizza style and asked for the servers recommendations since I had never been here. She recommended the mushroom or the pepperoni and I opted for the pepperoni with a glass of Chardonnay from France. Everything was cooked within 10 minutes and was absolutely amazing! Perfectly cooked dough, nice and crisp on the outside and soft interior. All the ingredients tasted fresh as well. They have a wide variety of pizzas and I'll definitely be back for more happy hours! read more

Bufalina Due - Pepperoni Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Austin, Texas

Wow, TEN years since our last review though one of us has been here with some friends in the interim. We came here recently with another family crew and had a great time and experience. We arrived just before they opened for happy hour, and they really do have some great deals for it including 50% off wines and certain food items. The adults shared a light, crispy cold red that was wonderful with all the dishes. We started with the caesar salad, which is wonderful because who doesn't appreciate a mountain of shredded cheese on top? Our favorite dish of the night was the mozzarella with shishito peppers and polenta and corn vinaigrette. AMAZING. Serious a culinary masterpiece! For pies, they have plain kiddo ones that came out quickly and the adults shared the margherita, potato, and zucchini. It was a well-balanced mix because the tomato/cheesy one was a nice contrast to the garlic-y potato and the lemony zucchini. In whichever case, excellence all around. Service was attentive and while we could tell they were ready for us to go after we had finished, they weren't overbearing about it. The price was beyond reasonable taking the happy hour discounts into account. We're glad that we came again because we had a more impressive experience, so hopefully it'll be fewer than ten years before the next visit. Four happy stars. read more

Tasty and not too heavy! We had the pappardelle and a zucchini pie, both were a good time! Service was really nice and patient, since it was busy and my friend was running late. They tended to us nicely, and the place was cozy and dark! read more

Have been coming here since they first opened. Went there last night for an early dinner - service was awful & pizza was cold. There were only three small tables with people at them & what appeared to be 4 wait staff. We had to wave them over for parm & peppers for the pizza, & had to wave them over for a 2nd beer. Two stars is generous. read more

Still a big fan of their happy hour. $8 house wines and select half off pies. We had an issue where the server placed the blame on us for a mixup in the kitchen, which has unfortunately turned my partner off from this spot :/ but again, the happy hour is great. read more

100% recommend going to their happy hour, especially with a big group of people. Seven of us went and got 4 pizzas. It was less than $12 per person. A great deal if you ask me! We got the pepperoni, potato, margarita, & sausage. All were yummy, but the potato & sausage were my fave! Nice ambiance, but she is on the small size! And there isn't a ton of parking since the lot is shared with several businesses, so something to keep in mind when planning your visit. Great customer service as well. Loved our waiter! read more

Terrible service, mediocre food. When I arrived the place, I saw about half the tables free, about 5 of them tables for two and thought we'd be sat quickly (party of 2). But instead, they told us to wait outside and they'll be about 15 minutes. I thought that was odd, and asked if the seats were taken. I was told they were expecting multiple parties so we'd have to wait outside. Fast forward 10 minutes, only a party of 2 showed up and went inside (they were seated). Thought that was strange, so looked online to see if they had a waiting list. Their website says first come, first serve except for parties 6-8 during certain times. I went back inside and asked how many people were on the wait list. They deflected and said they had a lot going on and so we had to continue waiting outside. Then the manager came outside and asked if there was any issues. I told them I thought it strange that we were being told to wait outside when its first come first serve and asked again if they had a waitlist. They refused to answer again and said they need time to move tables around and talked about 1 of their tables being a reservation and said if we dont want to wait we could leave. I told them we'll wait (honestly shocked at how bad this was going and wanted to see if the food justified the bad service). Finally they sit us, we order pizza and pasta, and we get the food. Pizza was underwhelming, looked way better than it tasted. Pasta was not very good at all. I noticed there were no parties arriving for all the empty seats everywhere, no tables were moved around, and it was a very light evening in the restaurant. So my conclusion is they were poorly managing the situation, being dishonest, and honestly felt like we were being singled out for some reason. Very bad experience, avoid at all costs. Desano's pizza is nearby and dramatically better food and service. read more

We came to Bufalina Due to celebrate our recent engagement, and it was a fantastic first visit! We were joined by friends who live nearby and have been a few times before (usually for takeout), and they suggested this spot -- now we know why. We arrived right at 5 PM and were seated immediately. Parking was easy in the shared lot right out front, and the location is super accessible from the main road. The happy hour deals are excellent -- half off select pizzas and bottles of wine under $100. Between the four of us, we ordered the red pie with pepperoni and the taleggio pizza, both of which qualified for the discount. We also shared the burrata appetizer, which came with fresh focaccia. Everything was delicious -- the pizzas were flavorful, the wine paired perfectly, and the burrata was creamy and fresh. Service stood out, as well: attentive without being overbearing. Our water glasses never dipped below halfway before being refilled, and the staff was warm and welcoming throughout. Highly recommend Bufalina Due for a casual yet elevated dining experience -- especially during happy hour. We'll definitely be back! read more

I thought the flavors were really unique but the pizza was a bit soggy and it was also a bit pricey. I think I liked the pepperoni pizza the best, I liked the flavor of the zucchini pizza a lot but unfortunately it was a bit soggy. The inside is really cute with lots of seating. The workers weren't that attentive but it was a bit busy. read more

Pictures of the food look great, too bad I'll never be able to try any of it till I can get a babysitter because they don't have high chairs for little ones. I love going anywhere and everywhere with my kids and much rather eat with them than away from them so we left. It's probably too small of a space for them to worry about having to take up seats with high chairs and more importantly a fire hazard cause it's so small in there( even though they can move chairs which take up equal space lol ). I get it. It's also a way to keep the"cool" higher end edgy factor and unspoken trendy ambience that they are going for. How would they look on tik tok or whatever with a BABY in the background. I feel like I entered into a white wall contemporary art gallery with a pizza oven when I walked in to give them our headcount. I do want to try the Caesar salad and a pizza one day. It all smells great. And the photos are awesome. We are blessed with three kids and one is a baby and neither me nor my wife want to have our baby in our lap smacking pizza and wine out of our hands as we eat, which is not the restaurants fault . (Sarcasm alert) Those darn babies and their need for high chairs!!! If only babies weren't so needy and uncool. I'm sure if more babies had nose rings and Norse mythology tattoos and mullets they would work on getting more high chairs. Sadley if you have a baby you're lapping the little high chair fire hazard liability ball of love. (According to them) Plain and simple ( I love babies) this restaurants actions tell you how they feel about babies and service to customers with babies by choosing not to have high chairs. read more

A favorite for wood-fired pizzas and great greens (their Caesar is the standard) in wet and dry season. Their Sommelier is known for selecting some of the choosiest bottles to be found (all within affordable price points) for dine-in and carry-out options. This place has some of the best pizza and Caesar salad salad I've ever had in my life. We go here anytime we want pizza because there is just no beating it. The vodka pizza with sausage is the best in my opinion. The only thing I will say is we went at about 8pm and the lighting on the booth side of the restaurant was extremely bright like we were having brunch somewhere. I know this is very nitpicky and I love the place and I will definitely be back but it just made me sad in such a romantic cool rustic looking place to have giant lights shining down onto you. No mystery/ no ambiance. The other location is kept very dimly lit so maybe I'll just keep going to that one for dinner. Either way great place. read more

Bufalina Due is one of our absolute favorite pizza spots, and we come here all the time. It's one of the only pizza places our 4 1/2-year-old genuinely loves, which says a lot. We always order an extra side of the focaccia bread for her because it's so good and a guaranteed win every time. Our usual order never disappoints: the Caesar salad is an absolute must, along with the margherita pizza and the spicy mushroom pizza. On a recent visit, we branched out and tried some of the pasta, which was also excellent. We also tried the potato pizza recently and loved it just as much as everything else. Honestly, I'm convinced you could order anything on the menu and never be disappointed. Everything is consistently delicious and thoughtfully made. As an added bonus, it's right next door to an ice cream shop, so after Bufalina Due we almost always end the night with ice cream next door, which makes the whole experience even better. Lastly, the service is always great and ambience is enjoyable. I like that the brick oven is inside of the restaurant. You can actually see them cooking all the pizzas which makes for a fun experience for the kiddos read more

The caesar salad was huge, even for two people, and as big as it was, that is just how good it was! We split a vegetarian pizza, and it was one of the best pizzas that I have had in Austin. Service was pretty good, but when I was ready to pay the bill, our server was not to be found. Otherwise, I would have given Bufalina Due a five star rating. read more

Last time I was in Austin, I went to Bufalina for an awesome experience. Tried out Bufalina Due for a repeat experience during their happy hour (4-5:30). Caesar Salad - $18 At Bufalina, I had (still to this day), the best Caesar salad I had ever had. At Bufalina Due, the salad was just fine. Large quantity that matches the price tag but the umami flavors were missing (didn't really taste the anchovies this time). Unsure if it's a location thing or a recipe switch. Mushroom Pie - $10 Decent mushroom pizza with white sauce. Not bad but not super memorable. Zucchini Pie - $8.5 Yum! Little spicy, little tangy, lots of refreshment, I loved this pizza, especially on a hot day. Loved the flavors and the novelty. I saw the Fresca pie, which was amazing when I was at Bufalina, but it was no longer on the happy hour menu so I did not try. All in all, a good experience. Just a bit sad the Caesar Salad was not the same as I had before. read more

Great date night spot! Delicious food with moody lighting and atmosphere. I was able to get a walkin table for 2! Potato Pizza: My favorite of the two pies I ordered. Creamy, potatoey, almost like potato soup on a pizza. It has that neapolitan style with a super thin undercarriage with high heat charring. Soft and limp in the center. Love the vegetal accents from the leek and chive! Overall a very unique pizza that is yummy. I wish it was less burnt though. Taleggio: This one is another white sauce pie with their parm cream. It has sausage, so it is more meaty and savory. With a drizzle of honey, this would be perfect! Personally, I wouldn't order this flavor again and would try other pizzas. Burrata: Amazing appetizer! The broccolini has a slight kick of spice from the chili garlic crunch. The burrata is creamy and buttery, and goes well with the salted focaccia. The food comes out a bit slow and service overall is kind of slow, but I attribute that to it being a busy night. Overall I loved my experience, and would come back to try other pizzas! read more

First time visiting Austin and visiting Bufalina for my birthday ! Had the rigatoni pasta to start very yummy and Margherita pizza was so yummy and fresh ingredients and the dough was perfect light crunch with a chewy center! What a stellar happy hour we stumbled upon at this Austin Neapolitan pizza restaurant. How could you turn down 1/2 price pizza and 1/2 price bottles of wine?! The place was actually packed at 4:45pm on a Friday afternoon. We were quoted at 30 minutes, and were sat at the bar exactly one half hour later. Nicely done with the timing. The happy hour went until 5:30pm, so we got our pizza and wine order in right away. We took our server's recommendations for pizza and for the Zucchini, Vodka Arrabiatta (add sausage), and the calabrese. The calabrese was spicy and so delicious (thanks serrano)... probably my favorite, but all three were phenomenal. The wine was great and the price was fantastic. The interior was small but cozy, and the brick oven was front and center for us all to oogle. Truly an authentic experience, and we will be read more

Obsessed. I visited a half hour after happy hour ended and was kicking myself! They appear to have the best happy hour deal in town - 1/2 off specialty pizzas and heavily discounted wines by the glass. Yes please! I ordered the red pie with pepperoni, and it was delightful. IMO bread makes or breaks the pizza, and this place got it right. The bread was fantastic - so fresh and soft! Took me straight back to Naples. The sauce had a nice kick thanks to the red chilis, and the roasted garlic was a nice touch as well. We also got the olive oil cake for dessert which was topped with some sea salt & served with whipped butter + marmalade. The combination of sweet, salty and zesty flavors was out of this world! Service was quick and efficient. I also loved the vibe of this restaurant - so cozy with the pizza oven right in the middle. Very cool. I also enjoyed how they hand you the check in a used book - quirky and unique! I will be back soon! read more

4.5 We have been to the original location sooooo glad there is another Bufalina closer and it didn't disappoint Being familiar with the menu made ordering ez, we did start with a seasonal appetizer peach tomato with mozzarella, nicely presented EXCELLENT flavors Our pizza was the Fresca, essentially cheese with procuitto, arugula piled on top with grated Parmesan. Their pizza crust in soooo wonderful...a great chew which imo makes a TERRIFIC pie!!! The reason for the 4.5 rating? I ordered dessert, watermelon sorbet ~ I ADORE anything watermelon so I was actually excited, then it arrives....... And it's this light yellow color NOT the gorgeous red watermelon COLOR!!!! I mentioned the yellow color to our server who replies "it's yellow watermelon~" I took a bite and it was OK, but not the true flavor of watermelon I was expecting Other than the conversation I just referenced that was it, I didn't complain & in hindsight this should be on the menu as "yellow watermelon sorbet" because there is a BIG difference between the 2 watermelon varieties.....would I have ordered it had I known????? No ma am We WILL return to both locations! This was just a blip on their radar ~ and no! If the watermelon sorbet continues to be on the menu? I will get clarification read more

It was the first of the year, I was craving cacio e pepe, and didn't feel like cooking at home. I went on a Thursday evening by myself. Getting a table was a breeze; there were plenty of available seats. I ordered the burrata appetizer, a glass of Italian white, and a plate of cacio e pepe. After the server's description of the burrata dish (charred, spicy broccolini and roasted tomatoes with bread), I expected it to be served warm. It was a cold dish, and I really hope whoever curated the menu reconsiders serving it warm. The pasta came out right as I was about to ask how much longer it would be before I received my entrée. I immediately noticed a visible lack of pepper in the pasta. I thought that maybe the pepper was folded into the pasta and not easily seen upon first glance. After the first bite, I realized the pepper was being overshadowed by salt. The pasta was tasty, it just didn't have enough pepper for a dish literally named cheese and pepper. Needless to say, I'm still on the search for the best restaurant cacio e pepe when I'd rather not cook at home. read more

I called to see if they were dog friendly and the person on the phone mentioned we could sit outside but it wouldn't be eligible for happy hour. What's the happy hour deal? 1/2 off pizzas and 2 bucks off of house wines and draft beers? Sorry, pooch. You're going to have to stay home because this merits further exploration. Their HH deal runs everyday, so I went Sunday and it was quiet so I got sat pretty quickly. It was my first time so the server was happy to go over the menu and reiterated the happy hour pricing. I started off with the olives and nuts, the burrata and the Caesar salad. The olives and nuts seemed simple but were delicious-the nuts were seasoned and roasted. The burrata had peaches which was not something I had before but it made a great pairing. The Caesar salad though was the surprising item, a pretty usual staple item but I'm not sure what it was but it was delicious. If you see my photos there's 2 pizzas; I ended up ordering four. Half off, so 4 for the price of 2, why not? I didn't have a bad one the two missing were the four cheese and the mushroom and it was gone before I realized that I didn't snap a photo. I ordered the Taleggio and Calabrese after I had finished and the first two. Oh, and since it was after 4 I got the Cacio e Pepe-understated but rich. You'd think after all that I'd be done but when I found out that the sorbet was watermelon I had to have it. I've made Buffalina a regular stop now, usually for Happy hour but I'm still happy any time of day. read more

Consistently high quality every time I've ordered, whether it's takeout or dine in. Their prosciutto is INCREDIBLE - add it to everything you order. Cute date night spot that feels very romantic and intimate. Never an issue with parking. Staff is kind and accommodating. Restaurant seating is a bit cramped though. I will say when we eat there. The Caesar salad was amazing. Only reason I'm not giving this. A five star is that I came back super recently like days after and ordered a to go Caesar salad, and it was so expensive and not the same experience, which of course is understandable, but it wasn't as grandiose as it was when you were eating in house, which I felt like I overpaid for a salad that I could've gotten in a Whole Foods, and it would've been much better.. just know if you're gonna get the salad. Just eat it there. read more

We came here for an impromptu date night. Parking out front is maybe 3 or 4 spots. You're better off trying to park around back. Service was very friendly and attentive. I love a restaurant where the staff takes pride in the food they serve. Kudos! The burrata with roasted shishito peppers was DELICIOUS. I'd definitely recommend it for your appetizer. The pizza is neopolitan style, so expect a thick outer crust and a thin pie that is not crispy. The vodka arrabiatta was recommended, but honestly the sauce on the margherita was so much better. The ground sausage on the vodka arrabiatta was interesting and good, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The basil on the margherita seemed fresh. If I come back, I'm definitely ordering the rigatoni (our waiter's favorite dish on the menu) to try something different on the menu. It's fun semi-casual date spot. read more

This space was great for a date night! Being new to Austin we were excited to try it out after it being recommended to us. They had a great selection of wines and a menu that wasn't too large. The Caesar salad was incredible. It had the perfect amount of cheese and it easily could've fed four people as a starter. We weren't crazy about the pasta, it seemed overly citrusy. Both pizzas were really tasty, I loved the charred thin crust! I felt like the toppings were all substantial, definitely didn't leave feeling skimped on arugula! I would skip dessert next time, the cake/torte texture just didn't do it for me. Staff were friendly, although our server seemed a bit flustered despite it being relatively slow! Maybe just an off day, we've all been there! Food came out in a timely fashion. Super cute spot tucked away! read more

Brick oven pizza is a treat no matter what kind of pizza preference one has. Bufalina Due has a brick oven right in the middle of the small restaurant which gives everyone something to observe while waiting for the meal. I appreciate the half off pies at happy hour and selected a pepperoni pizza with added arugula. Very glad I made that addition. The spicy pepperoni, acidic tomato and fresh arugula paired so well with the syrah rosé I was drinking. The bitter herbs made the peppery wine taste sweeter and it was a beautiful symphony. Although I didn't get the Caesar salad, they looked iconic and massive with a mountain of lettuce and cheese. Definitely enough for the table. There are plenty of wines to choose from and the bottles are even half off at happy hour too. Clearly with these great deals and tasty food the place is in demand. However, the shared parking lot was especially cramped and the interior reflected that. Menus were some papers stapled together and could definitely use some redesign. The ranch on the side is homemade and good but not worth the $2 it costs for a tiny amount. All in all, this business has some magic in the ovens and ingredients. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Worth a visit! read more
