Still a big fan of their happy hour. $8 house wines and select half off pies. We had an issue where the server placed the blame on us for a mixup in the kitchen, which has unfortunately turned my partner off from this spot :/ but again, the happy hour is great.
100% recommend going to their happy hour, especially with a big group of people. Seven of us went and got 4 pizzas. It was less than $12 per person. A great deal if you ask me! We got the pepperoni, potato, margarita, & sausage. All were yummy, but the potato & sausage were my fave! Nice ambiance, but she is on the small size! And there isn't a ton of parking since the lot is shared with several businesses, so something to keep in mind when planning your visit. Great customer service as well. Loved our waiter!
We came to Bufalina Due to celebrate our recent engagement, and it was a fantastic first visit! We were joined by friends who live nearby and have been a few times before (usually for takeout), and they suggested this spot -- now we know why. We arrived right at 5 PM and were seated immediately. Parking was easy in the shared lot right out front, and the location is super accessible from the main road. The happy hour deals are excellent -- half off select pizzas and bottles of wine under $100. Between the four of us, we ordered the red pie with pepperoni and the taleggio pizza, both of which qualified for the discount. We also shared the burrata appetizer, which came with fresh focaccia. Everything was delicious -- the pizzas were flavorful, the wine paired perfectly, and the burrata was creamy and fresh. Service stood out, as well: attentive without being overbearing. Our water glasses never dipped below halfway before being refilled, and the staff was warm and welcoming throughout. Highly recommend Bufalina Due for a casual yet elevated dining experience -- especially during happy hour. We'll definitely be back!
I thought the flavors were really unique but the pizza was a bit soggy and it was also a bit pricey. I think I liked the pepperoni pizza the best, I liked the flavor of the zucchini pizza a lot but unfortunately it was a bit soggy. The inside is really cute with lots of seating. The workers weren't that attentive but it was a bit busy.
A favorite for wood-fired pizzas and great greens (their Caesar is the standard) in wet and dry season. Their Sommelier is known for selecting some of the choosiest bottles to be found (all within affordable price points) for dine-in and carry-out options. These days I saddle up with a glass of bubbly (the hydrating kind) and my favorite Fresca pizza - happy birthday to me! Better with a party. Ever so grateful for this cozy neighborhood joint reopening their second spot on the East Side - more to come!
This place has some of the best pizza and Caesar salad salad I've ever had in my life. We go here anytime we want pizza because there is just no beating it. The vodka pizza with sausage is the best in my opinion. The only thing I will say is we went at about 8pm and the lighting on the booth side of the restaurant was extremely bright like we were having brunch somewhere. I know this is very nitpicky and I love the place and I will definitely be back but it just made me sad in such a romantic cool rustic looking place to have giant lights shining down onto you. No mystery/ no ambiance. The other location is kept very dimly lit so maybe I'll just keep going to that one for dinner. Either way great place.
Bufalina Due is one of our absolute favorite pizza spots, and we come here all the time. It's one of the only pizza places our 4 1/2-year-old genuinely loves, which says a lot. We always order an extra side of the focaccia bread for her because it's so good and a guaranteed win every time. Our usual order never disappoints: the Caesar salad is an absolute must, along with the margherita pizza and the spicy mushroom pizza. On a recent visit, we branched out and tried some of the pasta, which was also excellent. We also tried the potato pizza recently and loved it just as much as everything else. Honestly, I'm convinced you could order anything on the menu and never be disappointed. Everything is consistently delicious and thoughtfully made. As an added bonus, it's right next door to an ice cream shop, so after Bufalina Due we almost always end the night with ice cream next door, which makes the whole experience even better. Lastly, the service is always great and ambience is enjoyable. I like that the brick oven is inside of the restaurant. You can actually see them cooking all the pizzas which makes for a fun experience for the kiddos
Last time I was in Austin, I went to Bufalina for an awesome experience. Tried out Bufalina Due for a repeat experience during their happy hour (4-5:30). Caesar Salad - $18 At Bufalina, I had (still to this day), the best Caesar salad I had ever had. At Bufalina Due, the salad was just fine. Large quantity that matches the price tag but the umami flavors were missing (didn't really taste the anchovies this time). Unsure if it's a location thing or a recipe switch. Mushroom Pie - $10 Decent mushroom pizza with white sauce. Not bad but not super memorable. Zucchini Pie - $8.5 Yum! Little spicy, little tangy, lots of refreshment, I loved this pizza, especially on a hot day. Loved the flavors and the novelty. I saw the Fresca pie, which was amazing when I was at Bufalina, but it was no longer on the happy hour menu so I did not try. All in all, a good experience. Just a bit sad the Caesar Salad was not the same as I had before.
friend's birthday dinner done RIGHT!! bufalina's has not disappointed ever. We decided to do family style to try more of the dishes and everything was so so flavorful and unique. The pastas surprised me! They were rich and creamy, i would definitely recommend getting it! If you havent been here for their happy hours, you're missing out
First time visiting Austin and visiting Bufalina for my birthday ! Had the rigatoni pasta to start very yummy and Margherita pizza was so yummy and fresh ingredients and the dough was perfect light crunch with a chewy center! The sausage in vodka sauce pizza was lacking though the sausage was bland and the vodka sauce had no pop of flavor which should have been amazing! Would come back again for the margherita
What a stellar happy hour we stumbled upon at this Austin Neapolitan pizza restaurant. How could you turn down 1/2 price pizza and 1/2 price bottles of wine?! The place was actually packed at 4:45pm on a Friday afternoon. We were quoted at 30 minutes, and were sat at the bar exactly one half hour later. Nicely done with the timing. The happy hour went until 5:30pm, so we got our pizza and wine order in right away. We took our server's recommendations for pizza and for the Zucchini, Vodka Arrabiatta (add sausage), and the calabrese. The calabrese was spicy and so delicious (thanks serrano)... probably my favorite, but all three were phenomenal. The wine was great and the price was fantastic. The interior was small but cozy, and the brick oven was front and center for us all to oogle. Truly an authentic experience, and we will be
Obsessed. I visited a half hour after happy hour ended and was kicking myself! They appear to have the best happy hour deal in town - 1/2 off specialty pizzas and heavily discounted wines by the glass. Yes please! I ordered the red pie with pepperoni, and it was delightful. IMO bread makes or breaks the pizza, and this place got it right. The bread was fantastic - so fresh and soft! Took me straight back to Naples. The sauce had a nice kick thanks to the red chilis, and the roasted garlic was a nice touch as well. We also got the olive oil cake for dessert which was topped with some sea salt & served with whipped butter + marmalade. The combination of sweet, salty and zesty flavors was out of this world! Service was quick and efficient. I also loved the vibe of this restaurant - so cozy with the pizza oven right in the middle. Very cool. I also enjoyed how they hand you the check in a used book - quirky and unique! I will be back soon!
Wow! First time visit. Happy hour everyday. We ordered Potato, Margherita and Pepperoni pizzas. Half price at happy hour.
I've never been to their location on East Cesar Chavez, but this location on Burnet does offer takeout. Just be prepared for the automatic 20% service fee on takeout orders from Tock. In fact, the restaurant uses Tock for reservations (of large parties) and takeout orders. If dining in, a 3.5% wellness and fair wage fee is assessed on the subtotal. It seems odd that the takeout fee exceeds the dine-in fee. It's located in the same small plaza as Lick's, Finley's, and Barley Swine. There's a front parking lot. And a back parking lot. But as far as I can tell, one does not simply drive from the front lot to the back lot, as they are disconnected by car. You'd have to get onto Burnet Rd, then get onto Burnet Lane to reach the back. But on foot, it's totally doable. If the back lot is full, street parking exists. A portion of the front lot is used for valet parking for Barley Swine in the afternoon and evening. I ordered Today's Mozzarella and a Calabrese Pizza, to go, using their Tock ordering system. A time limit is in place when ordering in order to maintain your pickup time. This is understandable, because in their restaurant there is only one small pizza oven, in the middle of the restaurant floor. They also sell pizza dough. Pick up was easy, sort of. Park, enter, look around for a staff member (since there is no one stationed at the front to handle incoming customers), state that you're picking up, then grab and go. Bring everything home, possible re-warm some pizza in the oven, and it'll still taste amazing. They have very nice red sauce. The dough is yummy, though it'd be nice to have fewer scorch marks on the bottom. Their mozzarella with sweet peppers, oil, and mint could also be scoffed down repeatedly. The cheese packaging was great. The pizza box packaging--less so. The pizza went directly into the cardboard pizza box, cut, which meant that the juices and oils seeped into the cardboard. If left to sit long enough, those liquids will leak through the box to the exterior. Other places typically have an additional barrier in place between the pizza and the cardboard which will help absorb those liquids. Oh yeah, their happy hour seems like a good deal--half off pizzas and certain drinks. When dining-in, we decided on the burrata, followed by the potato pie. Service was quite amiable and informative. The environment was quite busy, with seating in close quarters with other parties. Expect to listen to your neighboring table's conversations. The burrata here was a bit disappointing. It came with golden beets, mint, walnut, and thick slices of bread. When cutting it open, there was no burst as expected. Instead, it just deflated. Sad. It could be saved with more mint leaves. Nonetheless, I would instead recommend Today's Mozzarella over the burrata. On the other hand, the potato pie was satisfying to eat. Unfortunately, their oven still has a tendency to leave soot on the bottom of the pizza, such that you will notice the bitterness. If this issue could be addressed, it would take their amazing pizzas to the next level. read more

I had always missed the amazing pizza and pasta I enjoyed in Italy twenty years ago, and I can't tell you how happy I was to taste that same flavor again here. The Caesar salad, especially, was absolutely outstanding. read more

I chose this place for the ambiance. It was a first date and I wanted great lighting, a quiet atmosphere conducive to conversation, and food we would both enjoy. Bufalina Due delivered on all points, PLUS excellent service. Everything we ordered was delicious and delivered with appropriate spacing between each item. Our wine was a perfect complement as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. Try to get there for happy hour to stretch your dollars, but it is worth the price either way. Enjoy! read more

Food and service was great. Caesar salad 10/10 rigatoni pasta 10/10 sauce was so good. Def would recommend this spot! read more
Great spot for happy hour as pizzas are half off and they have wine discounts. It is highly overpriced if you come during normal time. Parking spots are extremely limited outside the restaurant, however you can find street spots in the surrounding neighborhood. Service is not the best at times, and the host has been snippy to my friends and other patrons. They do not accept reservations during happy hour, so be sure to get there before they open if you plan to partake. Reservations are accepted after the happy hour time slot. Pizza was good- it's coal fired thin crust style. read more

Excellent service. All staff very attentive. Extremely small establishment in the heart of the Allandale area. frequented by locals. Excellent wine selection, wood burning oven and conversational establishment. Pizzas are 12" of yummy goodness and Cesar salad can feed three easily. Limited parking in front. Park on back side and walk around bldg. Quick service and only waited 20 min to be seated. read more
If you love good Italian Pizza this is the place to go!! We were in the area and stumbled upon this cute place. They have small selection of pizzas but what ever we ordered was super yum. The wine and beer were good too. Definitely a must go place. read more
I prefer this location to the other because the staff is always friendly! We have eaten a few times in the last couple months and the food and service is always top notch! We usually order a salad, pizza and pasta to share. The salads are generous portions- this time we got the Cesar.. has a little bit of a kick with crunchy pieces as well.. the pizza vodka arrabiatta was perfectly cooked with some charring on the crust and the rigatoni had good snap to the bite.. will be back! Splitting the above is great for 3 people.. for 2 people who took some pizza home. Inside is vibrant and can have a wait but not after 8pm when we have eaten. read more
Bufalina Due is a great place for happy hour! To me that is the best time to go - it's 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM every day and dine in only where the pizzas are all HALF off and drink wise it is 1/2 off bottles under $100 and $8 wine and $6 craft beers. It's most worth it for sure for the half of pizzas. We went on a Sunday with a group of 4 of us - we arrived at 4:45 PM and were seated by 5:10 PM so about 25-30 minute wait. They have limited parking in the front and the back, but there is also street parking nearby. I would recommend if you're a bigger group to go early to get a table as the space is definitely cozy and the big tables are often filled. We got the vodka arabiatta pizza which really wasn't spicy at all, but the crust was nice and thin with just a little bit of fluff. More like a Neapolitan style pizza. We also had mushroom with caramelized onion which was also really good which surprised me as I am usually not a white pizza fan. Both pizzas came out perfectly cooked and not charred which I appreciated. For 4 people we got 5 pizzas (and our group included 2 men) and that fed us well, but not enough for left overs. The pizza was great! Now would I go back and pay full price when I know that it's half off during happy hour? I probably would say no I think it's definitely worth it more during happy hour. I would be willing to go back to try their pastas. Service was friendly and the pizza did take some time to get out (we were seated at 5:10 PM but got the pizzas around 5:35 PM but it didn't surprise me as it was packed on a Sunday night). If you're wanting to take advantage of happy hour I would suggest getting there 30-40 minutes early on weekends due to its popularity as you definitely don't want to be sat after happy hour. read more
I heard my coworker rave about Bufalina Due (particularly the happy hour) so I had pretty high expectations. It's a nice spot for pizza and wine and I would definitely come for happy hour but I felt the pizzas were a little pricy outside of happy hour. I was surprised there weren't more pizzas with meat or the option to add meat or other toppings. The toppings also weren't spread out very far out so you end up with a lot of crust at the end of each slice. If we hadn't gotten the Calabrian butter (which is spicy), I wouldn't have had anything to eat the crust with. Speaking of crust, the crust is pretty chewy but very thin so one pizza is definitely a personal serving size. Otherwise, the ambience is nice and service was standard. I appreciated that they wrapped our leftover slices in foil rather than a box because we each only had 2 slices left. read more

What a beautiful spot to grab some wine, beer and fun food. Menu is small but mighty! Burrata was delicious, peppers looked intimidating but were a perfect Texas sweet-hot blend with sliced peaches and fresh basil. Service with a smile and great suggestions! Our server recommended the Potato Pie - we wanted to try them all and needed a tie breaker. Her recommendation didn't disappoint. Can't wait to come back! Great happy hour options as well! read more
Came here with a friend for happy hour and had such a nice time! Head up though, this restaurant is pretty small with limited seating. Had I have known this I would've showed up a little earlier to make sure we got seated during happy hour. We cut it really close but ended up getting our order in before 5:30. We split the pepperoni pizza and a caesar salad. Both were so good! The ceasar salad was HUGE and actually so so good. They definitely sprinkle some salt right on top and I love that they don't use traditional croutons and have a sort of crouton crumb situation instead. Definitely recommend this spot for a date night and happy hour! read more
Honestly the best pizza I've had in austin hands down. We waited outside in the cold for like 45 minutes and it was worth it. There was a cocktail waitress that brought people drinks that were waiting outside. She recommended a very delicious bottle of wine that we shared. She was very knowledgeable and cool despite serving us in a parking lot. The vodka arrabbiata was spicy!! It was awesome!! The potato pizza was great and unexpected the rosemary was a delight. My bf has Italian friends and they really like this place. Highly recommend. I'll be back! read more

I came here with my wife for happy hour and got the Fresca, Calabrese, and mushroom pizzas. All of them were pretty decent but I liked the Calabrese the best! The calabrese pizza had a great flavor on the sauce and was pretty balanced. The crust on all of the pizzas was fantastic but for a couple of them the middle of the pizzas were a little too thin and soggy so it hard to eat. Service was pretty fast and it was a great place for a little date night. I'll probably come back for happy hour when I'm back in Austin! read more
This place has a really good menu. Very interesting. They have good wood oven pizza , but they should put more sauce on them. Too much crust for me, but the crust is good. It's very loud. The interior is an old building with cinder block walls that were never painted before they moved in. I guess that's ambience. Get a reservation at happy hour for cheaper menu items. read more
I enjoyed the neapolitan pizzas here. Tried the calabrese and vodka arrabiatta pizzas as suggested by our waitress - both were good! I liked the calabrese a little bit more. The sauce is very flavorful, tastes really fresh, and has a little kick to it. Happy hour is half off pies and run every day from 4:00pm-5:30, so definitely going to try to make my way back for that. read more
In my opinion, Bufalina has the best happy hour, which runs from 4-5:30 PM everyday. The food is amazing, and I can't believe it's half off all pizzas during happy hour. The staff are also super helpful and nice. Parking can be a little tricky here since the parking lot is limited. The inside of the restaurant is also very simple and small but cute. At times, it can be busy during happy hour, but we visited on a weekday around 5 PM, and there was no wait. We were seated immediately, and our food came out in 10 minutes. I ordered the Margherita pizza, and my boyfriend ordered the Taleggio. The pizzas are well-made and thin, and our total price (during happy hour) was around $20, which is so crazy to me. I will always recommend Bufalina for good food and an amazing happy hour. One of my favorites in Austin. read more

Bufalina Due is not your typical, casual pizza joint. Expect a more upscale pizza restaurant for a perfect girls dinner night. You can easily discern Bufalina Due only serves the highest quality ingredients after one bite. I started with the Caesar Salad as my appetizer and WOW. This is literally how all Caesar Salads should be made! Chopped romaine lettuce perfectly mixed with homemade caesar dressing, freshly shredded parmesan, and breadcrumbs. Pizzas are cooked in Bufalina Due's wood-burning ovens and are about 12" in diameter (not too large, a bit thin crusted). I ordered the Pepperoni Pizza, which had a perfectly charred outer crust, while the middle was lightly moist-- a Neapolitan classic. read more

Did some research & this place did not disappoint!! Got there just after 6pm midweek and grabbed the last table. Service was excellent. Ordered the winter salad & mushroom pie. Omg never have I ever been in such salad heaven!!! Just trying to decipher the dressing ingredients. So simple yet so delicious. I could eat this salad every day. Mushroom pie pizza - just amazing! The robust flavors of something meatless, yet superb. Definitely will be dreaming about this meal again and again. Until next time Buffalina !! read more

Food: I have tried the Fresca and the Vodka Arrabiata which are made in the oven that's in the middle of the dining floor! It's thin crust pizza that still has a good chew and crisp exterior. The Parmesan and arugula are perfectly balanced with thin slices of prosciutto on the Fresca and the Vodka pizza is especially good if you like garlic. I would say that it's expensive for how small the pizzas are, so I find it better to go during Happy Hour since I can easily eat half a pizza for a meal. Service: Fairly relaxed atmosphere and a bit slow, but pizzas come out pretty quick. HH: 4-5:30 1/2 off pizza, $6 beer, $8 house wine, 50% off wine bottles under $100. It's easiest to find a table on Monday and Tuesday for quieter HH. Thursday-Saturday, if you are not there before 5 it can be hard to find a seat. Parking: There's a small lot out front with more parking behind the restaurant if you want to avoid parallel parking. read more
This is my first time here, the pizza looked delicious. I got half with sausage because I don't like sausages. My husband said it was delicious. I am looking forward to the bread. They are donating their proceeds to help a friend in need.. I was not a fan of the bread or the tomato pepper sauce. My husband liked the food more than me. It had chili but was supposed to be no chili's flake but there was supposed to be no chili flakes. I probably won't be back. The server was very nice when I told her there was supposed to be no chili flakes.if I came back, I would get the pizza with no sauce because the sauce had chilis and was spicy. read more

Shiv came down to austin, so I had to find a place to grab dinner. He got in kinda late so I was looking for a place close by and also open a little later on a weeknight. Bufalina popped up so I decided to try it out last night. I'm so glad I came here! It was a small and dark, but it was not crowded since we were there so late. I'm sure they get packed at busier times. Our server was great and recommended the mozzarella of the day. It was very flavorful and tasted fresh. The Margherita pizza was one of the best I've ever had. I loved the crust and I usually hate crust. The flavor from the sauce was perfectly sweet and tangy. They serve 12 inch pizzas so you should get one each, but if you're not super hungry you could probably split one with some one else. read more

Okay, so first impressions- not great. I watched as other tables were waited on immediately and I, a table of one, wasn't. Someone did come over and I asked if he was my waiter to which he replied "I am a waiter than can take your order". I'm used to waiters that come up and say "hey my name is blank, what can I get started". Totally could have been my mistake, but this was SUPER frustrating to me. Anyways, I proceeded to order a glass of their house rosè on their everyday happy hour and the hongo pizza. The rosè was great for a hot summer day and I enjoyed the tunes while I patiently awaited my pizza. I will say, I wished there was more options for meat toppings. Like a prosciutto or another comparable meat (they only had a pepperoni, sausage, and meatball to choose from) This pizza came out in literally 5 minutes! Super quick. It was tasty and I appreciated that it was pretty thin. Like, it had "just enough" of everything on it. I received my check after my area was picked up and I thought it was neat how they served it in a book. Definitely different. All in all, I had an "ok" experience. Pizza was good. Not sure that I'll be back. read more
