Lolo quickly became our go to spot for a good glass of wine. We know that they'll always have a banging selection of wines at the bar and bottles for sale. The staff can always help point you in the right direction and are super nice. Some of the glasses can be $16+, which is why I also love that they have the "house" selections for under $10, which are also always good. We've even been part of the LoLo wine club which id recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about wine, and you get a cute tote bag, a win win. Not a big wine drinker but was basically recommend-told to come here by a friend who was visiting. I kept it in my back pocket until I managed to get an early day from work and decided to head down. In addition to wines they have packaged beers. I am usually a beer drinker but I ended up with a Sangria; I like wine and fruit, what can I say? I enjoyed it, even though I'm not a frequent wine drinker. I also was feeling a little buzzed so-time for some food! They have a very limited food menu and so the only thing that appealed to both of us was the baguette and Spanish olive oil. The olive oil was flavorful and spicy, it was fresh and flavorful and GOOD. The majority of olive oils I've had as an accompaniment to bread has been just...moist. Lovely wine bar on E 6th with a large backyard. One comment I have to make is the lack of menus - the by the glass selection only gives a brief name for each one expecting you to know what they are. And then they have a big bottle selection, which also has no list or menu, you just have to look at the bottles. Not very friendly for people looking for something specific. What a quaint place. Came during the week close to 5:30 ish so they weren't very busy. Got a seat at the bar and the bartender was pleasant and answered all of our questions. Their menu is primarily wine, they do have some beers not on the menu. Good wise, mostly snacking foods. So many wine options. The coolers behind the bar were stocked! I asked for an Albariño which wasn't available and a decent substitution was offered. The outside patio area was a surprise and would be great during the fall/spring when it's not a million degrees outside. Such a cute wine bar on the east side. I was looking for a pre-dinner drink while in the neighborhood and stumbled across this gem. Their indoor seating is limited but the main attraction is the patio. With ample seating, shade, and lots of fans (praise be) this is one of the best surprises of the city! I had an orange wine from California thanks to the recommendation from the bartender. If you went to take a bottle to go, they have quite a selection as well. They don't offer much food so keep that in mind. I sat on the patio and read a couple chapters of my book and had a lovely time. We came in to have just a glass of wine, because as visitors from the Houston area, we were planning to try a cocktail bar next. They only had four wines to choose from, if you're choosing which be by the glass. One of the choices had developed a flaw due to its lack of sulfites for preservatives, since it was an organic wine. But they were still serving it, and charging $16 a glass for it. One of the choices was Mencia, which is more of a wine to accompany food than a sipping wine. The other two were pretty much tasteless. We got the Mencia, since the nice bartender had already poured tastes for us. We did enjoy sitting outside in the chill area out back, which was the highlight of the visit. I would recommend, though, don't stop by for a glass, get a bottle (I'm guessing it's the only way to get something decent). read more

My friend and I stopped by a few weeks ago during the daytime after brunch and it was very quiet, but we wanted to come back during peak hours. Well, we made that trip and it was such a blast! We were shocked to see how lively and fun the wine bar became at night even at 7PM on a Saturday. There were pizza ovens in the back, and the pizzas looked delicious. I'm not sure if that was a pop-up, but it's such a wonderful idea to eat some handmade fresh pizza while sipping on some wine or beer. I love that the menu in the back is so simple because you simply choose your type of liquor and they pour it out into a wine glass for you. LoLo was a great establishment with awesome wine. However, they stopped serving us after "their discretion" after one bottle of wine and a few small platters of bread and cheese. They did not give us a reason other than their "point of view" when we were sharing good laughs and small talk with fellow patrons. It was very odd to me as we did not cause a disturbance to any other patrons and we were just a little tipsy from their great wine. I checked it out last night and we were seated pretty quickly. For a wine bar, the wines by the glass list is a tad-limited (2 per wine variety) although there are many tens of varieties by the bottle. The backyard is set-up for live music although there was no such performance when I visited. Service was a tad haphazard but otherwise, friendly. Hmmm not a fan of this one. The outdoor ambience wasn't very nice and the chairs + table height were awkward and uncomfortable. I think the wine was pretty decent, but we were honestly distracted by the VERY loud music that the DJ was playing. Not our scene, but maybe great for people into clubs and loud bars. The menu is limited but good for pre dinner or post dinner munchies. We had the cheese plate and baguette with butter. Baguettes are from Sour Duck. The best news for COVID-times is there is a legit nice patio. They also have their own parking if you're driving there. I'd highly recommend this for a good COVID location. Outdoor, nice space. The wait staff was knowledge about the wines and able to recommend bottles based on our preferences.
