Oh how I love this teeny, tiny, adorbs little speakeasy with its neon-light accents. I'm talking like seating for 8-12 people tiny. Though tiny, it boasts sleek and aerodynamic vibes with the decor and layout. It's the companion bar to Here Nor There. For that reason alone, you know it's good. Sadly, I've only been able to visit once. Don't feel too badly for me, it's walking distance from my apartment and I shall go again! I'm a sucker for a good craft cocktail, most especially those with a nod towards Europe. When we went, I had the spritz flight (3 different) and my boyfriend had the Dublin Drop. Fantastic! In Plain Sight is the sister bar of Here Nor There (IYKYK). That alone is reason enough to visit. They recently expanded their business hours and are now open daily. The bar is very tiny (maybe 10 seats at the bar, 4 window seats, and approximately 6 or so seats on the patio). They are walk in only. The lighting is super cool. The color hues subtly change which gives the space a cool ambiance. I happened to be out on a Monday night and decided to stop by for a night cap. When I walked in, I was the only patron. Chad was behind the bar and he was extremely nice and very personable. I started with the Green Reviver #2. It was a melon twist on the classic Corpse Reviver #2 and it was good! I really enjoyed the chive oil. I followed with the House Negroni. This was hands down the best Negroni that I've ever had. The strawberry twist on it elevated it! I finished with a mocktail. I told Chad to surprise me and he made an NA version of the Yellow Margarita. I enjoyed this and it was refreshing! I mentioned to Chad that I like clarified cocktails so he made me a sample of the Clarified Piña Colada. It was really good! The melon and lemongrass gave it an interesting flavor. I was fortunate enough to return a few weeks later. Freya was working behind the bar and he was just as nice and personable as Chad. I tried the Blue Clover Club. I loved the flavors and presentation of this drink! The raspberry lemon foam was so good and added a nice texture! I also had a House Negroni because I enjoyed it so much the first time. I've only visited twice, but In Plain Sight is definitely one of my favorite cocktail bars in Austin. This bar is fun! I've known about it a long time but just never made the effort to get to it until recently. I'd heard it's small, that is accurate - it is literally like 10 chairs lining the bar, and that's it. No tables. The bartender (Angela) was super sweet and helpful when I came by which was like a Thurs right at opening around 5p. She gave me a rec for the A La Vista cocktail being more floral, which it was! Really enjoyed it. It's a bit pricey but you're paying for ambiance too - the place is right on the corner of a busy intersection and has fun rainbow lights inside. True to speakeasy form, it's very not exciting from outside, there's not even an entrance sign, it's just a white door on that corner. Overall - it's a great little date spot vibe if that's what you're looking for. Angela was awesome, and the intimate vibe of the place makes it unique compared to other spots! We popped in here after a show at the Paramount theater and were so glad we did. Lucky enough to snag the last few seats, we were warmly greeted by the female bartender. I'm kicking myself for not remembering her name, but fun blonde that made amazing cocktails. She introduced us to Chad the other bartender who was quite fun and gave excellent recommendations. While small, it was such a fun vibe and everyone's just enjoying the drinks and the company. My favorite was the Blue Cobbler and then a speciality type dessert drink the bartender made us that wasn't on the menu - she is super talented at what she does and made us the best dessert drink after asking just a few questions about our particular tastes. Such a cute spot! I came here while waiting for friends on a Saturday night. First off this place is tiny so be prepared to stand. The bar only sits 8 and I think there's standing room for another 6-8 but snug. From the outside looking in the window goes back and forth from you being able to see in to opaque. It was fun to watch from across the street. There was a steady crowd and a group waiting but one of the joys of being alone is I was able to get in immediately. This spot is the perfect place to stop by for a quick drink if you're a fan of HNT but didn't make reservations ahead of time. The prices are even *slightly* more affordable than HNT with the same quality of drinks. Although the space is tiny, they manage to fit a good amount of people (around 20) while still making you feel comfortable. I usually grab a standing spot by the window, but also love sitting at the bar to watch all the cocktails being made. The staff is always friendly and clearly passionate about their craft. They will walk you through the menu and guide you toward drinks that you may enjoy. If you ask nicely, they will even make something off the menu! My go-to drink is the Dublin Drop, highly recommend it if you like scotch. But I've tried many of the drinks on the menu and have not been disappointed. read more

There are about 8 seats at the bar and they try to squeeze 6 more behind them. If it looks packed, I recommend checking again in 10-15 minutes. The bar focuses on spritzers and aperitifs, so it's perfect for a pre-dinner drink. I really enjoyed the Kahlo Americano and Southern Pearl. My friend ordered Open Sesame, and it was a strange combination. I recommend trying the other fruity drinks. The place is small, only fits about 16 and is operated on a first-come, first-served basis. Very intimate spot and would be great for pre or post dinner drinks. I'm a rum fan so I had the Caribbean Dream and the Poppy Lou Paloma. The Caribbean Dream was okay but the Poppy Lou Paloma was killer. This is a cute and tinyyyyy bar on the corner of Brazos St. & 7th St. It probably sits 10-15 people max. It truly is tiny, but a great spot. It's owned by the same people who own Here Nor There. The setting is cool with a "color" of the night. See attached pic. But they change the color of the lights each day which means the bar will look different inside. When we were there it was blue. The two bartenders working were very nice and prompt to help us as we walked in. It is a very tight spot but worth a stop in. We each had two cocktails and they were delish.
