This is a review about the coffee and food aspect of Simona's. It is over priced. In terms of coffee, they are middle of the pack. There is much better coffee in austin. They have premium prices still. They sell pastries and they have a taco food truck connected to it. Both are still very much overpriced. Located inside the Colton House Hotel, Simona's is the hotel's local resident serving coffee by day, and cocktails by night. I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead. read more

UPDATE: many reviews mentioned 4 hour parking, but this is no longer true - it is 2 HOUR parking the with a fee of $10 afterword. Not ideal for a remote working location for more than a short break. Matcha was one of the more expensive in Austin but solid. Food was great (got the birria tacos which were SO tender, although I did have a slight stomach ache right after - maybe just the grease). Went on a Tues during the day and there were many people working upstairs (quietly), but available seats for 2 or 3 ppl downstairs. read more

Came to Simona's with some coworkers for happy hour and was not disappointed! This place is behind the Colton hotel off Congress ave. There is a parking lot that you can get validation for 2 hrs free, but after that you will be charged. Overall though, it's totally worth a visit! The bartenders are really friendly, the bathrooms are immaculate, and the inside of the place is really cute -- think kinda pink vintage? There are some tables, and big comfy couches around a coffee table in the middle of the bar which is where we sat. I had one of their happy hour cocktails that was similar to a creamy espresso martini, and they are 50% off on happy hour days/times! My friend got one of their floral cocktails which wasn't discounted but I LOVED it personally. I also got a strawberry matcha drink (non alcoholic) that was a little too sweet in my opinion; I finished it but wouldn't get it again. Overall though the cocktails and vibe in there are worth a visit alone! When it's not too hot, the area outside has little mini-chandeliers and is also very vibey. read more

Drinks: I have had the Black Betty and the Rose Colored Glasses, and I have really enjoyed both drinks. The Rose Colored Glasses is essentially a strawberry matcha, but it is done really nicely. The price is pretty standard around $8 for the drink: I can't complain because I've paid more for worse. Service: Both times that I have come here, the baristas have been super friendly! They really help make the place feel more welcoming! Ambiance: This is an amazing place to hunker down for a few hours to study or just yap with a friend. The cafe has a nice vibe, and upstairs has a really nice library vibe. Also, the restrooms are quite nice -- they're match the overall cafe's aesthetic. There is also a really pretty outdoor patio to work at with outlets and nice greenery. I like that Simona's is a little off from the main street, so it is quite and feels super peaceful. Overall: I've been to a lot of cafes in Austin (I'm still getting around to reviewing them), but I have been telling all of my friends to come here because it is such a cool spot. read more

Excellent spot and a little hidden away from the street side - it blends in with the hotel it's part of. The coffee shop is a large, high-ceiling room adjacent to the hotel lobby, with an upstairs and patio. Upstairs is the place to go, it is a well-decorated, library feeling room that is quiet enough to do some reading or work, but still a level where conversation would be okay. Coffee itself has been consistently high quality with a small assortment of baked/prepared goods as well. read more

The vibes are really amazing! My partner and I came here hoping to get some work done and this spot was the perfect choice. First off, the essential: free wifi. It was great; personally had no issues. There are also plenty of outlets and tables availible throughout the space providing ample seating options . There is just something about working in an beautufully aesthetic space, surrounded by strangers also typing away on their own screens, with coffee/cocktails availible at your finger tips. Simona's had quiet music playing the the background and the atmosphere was rather quiet. Like I said, perfect place to get some work done. I can also imagine that it picks up on weekends & evenings. There is an outdoor patio area with a pool and they also offer happy hour specials. This spot is part of a boutique hotel, so keep that in mind when making plans to come, it may get busy. As for the parking, just park in the hotel's garage. There is parking validation and we did not spend a single penny for parking. I personally thought the coffee and the cocktails could use some work. It wasn't bad, but not great either. The coffee I ordered was acidic, which I thought was odd and the cocktail we ordered was a tad sweet. Otherwise, we had a great time. We came, we saw, and we got our work done. HAHA. The upstairs area has a modern library vibe, complete with comfortable seating that encourages you to focus. We tried the Tom's Diner latte and the From Eden cocktail, and both were fantastic. The cocktail was refreshing, a perfect balance of flavors. But let's talk about that latte--if you're a fig lover, Tom's Diner will blow your mind. I've been to Simona's a few times, and I've always been happy with the experience! Parking lot is a little weird and small, but the bar validates parking up to 4 hours, which makes up for it. The menu itself is not extensive, but it has some classics and some delicious cocktails. Coffee, as well! Simona's is the perfect setting for your next study date, friend date, or solo coffee date! The cafe is located inside the Colton House Hotel, just south of SoCo, and offers validated parking (I believe up to 2-3hr). My favorite part about Simona's is easily the vibes and aesthetics. Between the layout, the furniture, the music... someone clearly put a lot of thought and effort into elevating the look n feel of this cafe. Even the tiles in the bathroom got me thinking about how I can cop their style for my own home! There's ample indoor seating, both upstairs and downstairs, and every corner is immaculately decorated. Be warned, though -- a gorgy place like this won't stay secret for long and is bound to blow up with influencers. I've only been in for coffee, but Simona's also has cocktails and food. If their espresso drinks are any indication of their other offerings, I'll definitely be coming back for more. Staff are super chill and always seem to be chatting up regulars at the bar. The parking was a little hard to understand because the place is like behind in the back of a hotel I believe but the parking is free as long as you buy something from Simona's. Beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for lounging and co-working. I came with a friend and it was perfect weather and atmosphere for chatting and knocking out emails. The baristas were friendly and assisted in our transition from coffee to beers. The little store has tons of snacks, and I imagine its ok to bring your own snacks too. The indoor area was a bit over-air-conditioned, like most hotels, so I would bring a layer. Outside, you are allowed to use their cute blankets to cover up when it gets chilly. Parking is validated for the garage, so that made things super easy. Lots of access to outlets, which I always appreciate for working on my laptop. I love the space in this coffee house. It's very nicely decorated and super spacious. There's two levels inside the shop and there's an outdoor area that overlook a small pool. Inside feels like one of the common areas from one of the many luxury apartment buildings but they turned it into a coffee shop. You can get cocktails and coffee here. We got the Austin overcast and fig fancy. Austin is a earl grey tea with lavender and vanilla syrup but it was pretty good and I think it's because of the Hugo tea they used. I liked the fig fancy drink a lot because it was different. It's not often I see fig and caramel as the sweetener with an espresso drink. I have to say the drink prices are a bit high for what it is or the new normal, I'm not sure anymore. It was pretty packed on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon but the outside was empty. I think it's great to meet a friend and chat here. I like their latte and they also have some pastries options. There is outdoor seating which is great on a nice weather day, there are some greenery to look at which ease the eyes and feel like a tropical oasis almost. This place is tricky to find so follow these directions: the driveway to get to the parking deck is to the left of the hotel front. Drive all the way to the end of the building to get to the parking garage entrance, park immediately after you go through the parking gate. The two glass doors next to the parking gate are the entrance to Simona's. You're welcome! Be sure to bring your parking ticket in because they validate for 4 hours. I met a friend here for happy hour recently (Christmas 2022) after reading reviews online. Unfortunately they DO NOT HAVE HAPPY HOUR DRINK SPECIALS anymore. We each had a cocktail and a glass of wine and both were good. They have a small pastry case and a refrigerator with premade sandwiches. We were told there's a food truck outside usually too, but it wasn't open the day we were there. They have a cute outdoor space that will be awesome when the spring weather arrives. We came here in search of a cozy place to talk and relax in the fresh air. Inside there is a spacious hall with soft sofas, large windows and pleasant lighting. The outdoor area has comfortable chairs, a neat green area and a swimming pool nearby, which adds atmosphere. I was really excited to check out Simona's after seeing it listed in an article of ATX coffee shops to work in. It is located inside/attached to the Colton House Hotel and overlooks their pool. The aesthetic and vibes are a dream and I would love to hire whoever designed the space! There is limited parking available for coffee shop guests in the garage but the spots are limited to 2 hour parking with towing enforced. There are tons of seating options and the atmosphere is pretty upscale but relaxed and quiet. They serve both craft coffee and cocktails, many of which looked really enticing. I ordered the mexi-mocha (12oz iced) which was $7+$1 tip. In my opinion this was pretty pricy for the area but I think thats common for cafes inside of hotels. The drink was enjoyable but was a bit thick/heavy. I felt that their mocha was a bit over powering and the espresso got lost in the mix. I sat in the upstairs area and began working however after only about 30 minutes the wifi went down. I worked on some items offline hoping that the little blip would be resolved however after an hour of that it was still down and others around me were talking about how this happens frequently there and they always bring their hotspot. I decided to head out to a new location to focus on some other work. Overall I would say this is a great location for a coffee with a friend or a brief work meeting. It is super instagramable, but I wouldn't suggest camping out here to get a ton done. read more
