I was so surprised to see this rated 3.6 out of 5.0. It's easily a 5.0 for me. The team members (staff) are understanding and helpful, much like the feeling of a hotel where effortless hospitality is the only focus. The patrons are a mixed bag. Some leave their dogs on the overly nice furniture, leaving fur behind. It doesn't bother me, but I can understand how it would bother others looking at this as a restaurant, instead of what it is, a daytime coffee lounge and an evening cocktail bar. If it were just a coffee shop, there wouldn't be enough outlets, and there should be more pastries. If it were just a bar, it'd be a little too bright in the daytime, and the laptop workers (me included) would hurt the cool cocktail vibe...BUT it's not just those two things. It's both, and they do a remarkable job of accommodating everyone while maintaining a chill vibe. Seriously, everyone has surprised me with how nice they are here, and we're lucky to have something so architecturally significant with high-end indoor/outdoor furniture. This place is a vibe! Surrounded by plants around the building you feel like you're transported out of Austin straight into a little nature reserve in the middle of the city. My husband, dog, and I decided to stop by for a quick cup of coffee and a croissant after walking around the area. The barista was super sweet letting us in with our little dog. Seems to be a dog friendly place with people vibing out. I liked that there was a separate section for those with laptops that wanted to work. And there were tables dedicated to no laptops for those who rather converse or enjoy a screens off experience. Coffee could be better and was really expensive for what it was. Beautiful bar, great drinks, and terrific service. The host, Connor, and server, Diego, were extremely friendly and the drinks were so tasty! We sat on the patio since the weather was nice, but the sun was pointed directly at a friend. We asked them to put their large umbrella up and they did so quickly and kindly. They even turned on a fan nearby! The inside is gorgeous with plenty of space and they played great music. Restrooms were spacious, clean, and very cute! I have worked from Codependent a few times and I will say that the space is excellent! I love that there are designated sections for those that need to focus and those that want to socialize. If you haven't been here, they have little notes around the place that say "This is a laptop free table" and directs you to the back if you want to work. I like this concept because it shows the intentionality behind the design of the cafe and how they care about giving people the space they need. I tried a taco and their black sesame latte. The taco was good (pretty standard taco in Austin) and the latte was fine. One thing I would say is that there needed to be a little more black sesame flavor throughout the drink. I've had a black sesame latte in multiple places, so I was expecting the strong, smoky flavor of the black sesame flavor to come through the coffee, but it was easy to miss. read more

We were seated immediately and shortly after, our server D came and took our drink orders. She was super knowledgeable about the different drinks and her recommendations to each one of us was spot on. She recommended better with the lights on which had the fun surprise of edible glitter! The music was upbeat and fun and not too loud so we were able to carry out conversations comfortably. D was magic! She really knew when to replenish our drinks. I liked codependent cocktails a lot. My favorite drink of the night was the suit and Thai. It was the perfect pink drink for Valentine's Day. Ir was shippable and sweet. The ambiance was nice and the music at a reasonable level and crowd was very chatty so there was a constant din in the restaurant which made it a little hard to hear each other, but we really enjoyed the cocktails. Servers run on the snooty side, been here a bunch of times if we're near the area & it's bad service most of the time. Ambiance is good, trendy and nice but we're pulling away more and more coz the lady servers are just not happy to serve. Tonight, we came as a group of 10 and tip was automatically added so imagine how terrible the service was as opposed to when there's just 4 in a group?! I've been here before quite a bit, but came for a private event and really like the space. Loved that the waitstaff came to tables to take orders, so even though the bar area was packed it was nice that they came directly to us so we didn't have to wait too long. The drinks themselves were delicious. Breakfast in Bed was a whiskey based drink that wasn't too whiskey forward, and definitely approachable if you are not normally a whiskey drinker. London Lighthouse is a classic, light and refreshing. Highly recommend that one as well! read more

Wonderful place but I don't visit as often as I would like. I love their cocktails, even the draft ones are delicious. The space is beautiful. I'm sort of torn about timing to go here. Yes they have coffee and they have great cocktails but the menu doesn't quite support a full dinner so I'm less inclined to go in the evening. It's expensive so I'm less inclined to work from there for coffee and/or lunch. That being said their screens down policy really dissuades me from going during that sweet spot when it's late enough for a cocktail but I still have a little work to do like on a Friday afternoon or a way to treat myself on a weekend when I still have to work. My brother and I were working from there (outside, not taking a meeting just typing away quietly) on a Friday afternoon. We had gotten one round of drinks and were just about to order another round when the waitress went table to table and told everyone with laptops open that they could no longer have them open. This place is awesome! My wife and I stopped in today around 2PM after a walk on Lady Bird. We were pleasantly surprised. This place serves coffee, small bites and cocktails. I ordered a drip coffee and my wife had a margarita. Both were excellent! The gal behind the bar was super nice and very helpful. Open until 12:30AM... mainly just a cocktail bar at night. This review is because dogs are allowed on the furniture where people are sitting. The entire couch is covered in animal hair and dirt, and there was a bulldog lying on it when I arrived. A friend is coming into town for her birthday, and knowing that every good spot on a Friday night needs a reservation, I booked well in advance. The night before my reservation, they casually message me through the app (not even the decency of a phone call or text) to say my reservation has to be moved to another day because of a private event. The funniest part? This is the second time this has happened here. Do not bother making a reservation unless you're planning to rent out the entire place. Now I'm just hours away from my guest arriving from out of town, and I'm left scrambling with no reservation on a Friday night. On her birthday. We were drawn in by the outdoor patio - specifically the bird cage swings. We were able to score those swings, although the view from them is a bit odd - just of the parking garage area. Our waitress was super sweet. We each got a cocktail. They were good (I had the seasonal spritz), but I'm not sure if they were $18 good. I can't speak to the inside space or the coffee, but I'm not sure that I would go out of my way to go here again - but maybe if I were in the area, I'd give them another chance (hence the 3-star review). read more

First, the vibe is quite different on a Friday afternoon sitting outside, inside on the large couch setups, or in the back with tables. You may not be able to specify at the time of reservation though. We were seated in the back and at first, we felt FOMO but as the music got louder, appreciated our little corner of the world.
