The Kimberly, named after John Carver's wife, had been on our dining bucket list for quite some time. Having previously enjoyed sister restaurants J Carver's and Red Ash, our expectations were high and The Kimberly exceeded every, single expectation. The Kimberly restaurant has clean architectural lines, modern décor and dim lighting creating a romantic ambiance. Although we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Europe, we chose The Kimberly to mark our actual anniversary date. From the moment we arrived, the evening felt special. The hostess greeted us with a warm "Happy 25th Anniversary," and our server, Robert, followed suit. Fresh flowers adorned our table, along with a handwritten anniversary card. It was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. The menu showcases contemporary American cuisine with global influences, and every dish was outstanding. We began with the Crispy Salt & Pepper Lobster Tails, which were perfectly crisp, light, and incredibly flavorful. Our salads, The Kimberly Greek and Shaved Brussels Sprout, were fresh, beautifully presented, and large enough to share. For our entrées, I chose the Sautéed Red Snapper while my husband enjoyed the Wood-Roasted Double Breast of Chicken. Both dishes were expertly prepared, flavorful, and memorable. The Mousseline Potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. Throughout the meal, members of the management team stopped by to congratulate us and ensure everything was exceptional. Complimentary glasses of champagne added another thoughtful touch. We finished dinner with the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake with macadamia nuts and house-made caramel ice cream. It was pure dessert nirvana...despite being completely full, we somehow managed to finish every bite. While the food was extraordinary, the service was equally impressive. The level of hospitality was remarkable, with every member of the team contributing to an experience that felt personal, genuine, and celebratory. They did not simply serve dinner; they helped create an indelible memory. Will we return to The Kimberly? Absolutely!
My husband and I celebrated our bday at the Kimberly and we couldn't be happier with our overall experience. We had a few different cocktails variety of dishes and everything was deliciously delightful. The Kimberly is such a top notch, beautiful, classy restaurant; and food is really tasty and the atmosphere is pretty upscale. It's perfect if you're looking for somewhere nice for a special dinner. Will definitely return.
I enjoyed the appetizers and side dishes more than the main dishes here. My favorites were the beet salad-very refreshing, the bone marrow and the bread that came with it were excellent, and the lobster-good flavor, not too salty. Their drinks were also good but a bit strong for me. Cheddar house bread was very addicting and buttery, it was dangerous to sit too close to them lol I thought the steak was just okay, but I will come back to try a different cut before making a final judgment. Didn't like the chicken. Mac and cheese was too salty. Mashed potatoes were good and buttery. Excellent service. Beautiful restaurant.
We went here for our anniversary. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Loved the atmosphere the noise level was perfect for having a conversation without having to yell. We booked a reservation and were seated immediately. Food wise we started off with the fried salt and pepper lobster, red snapper crudo, steak sashimi and the rolls. We loved all of our appetizers! The snapper was in an agua chili sauce and was very light and refreshing! The steak sashimi was fantastically cooked and was well flavored with the mushrooms. Definitely both would be ordered again. The rolls were fresh and buttery! For mains we got the special which was a double cut pork chop on top of crispy potatoes with a chili sauce. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned and a huge portion. I ordered the scallops and they were lovely the sauce and fresh citrus really brings all the flavors together.
The Kimberly is PRISTINE Lots of restaurants in Austin have amazing food but the Kimberly is just above and beyond. The veal with cacio e pepe was the juiciest possibly softer veal I've ever had. My boyfriend got the wagyu. We shared the mouselline potatoes for the table. As for cocktails, the fire horse was tasted so bomb we had 3. Even if you want to drink something that wasn't on the menu, their bartender whipped us up a pineapple cocktail on the spot that was delicious. Everything was amazing from start to finish.
We made an impromptu stop for appetizers and drinks. We were not dressed up and weren't sure if they would seat us, but we were greeted at the door with no issues. We opted to sit at the bar. Surprisingly, it wasn't too busy on a Friday night. The restaurant is upscale with beautiful decor. The bar staff was so nice and professional. I started with the Upper East Side which is a vodka based cocktail with cucumber that was right up my alley. It was so refreshing and wasn't overly tart. The mint complimented the flavor well. Since we were only there for appetizers, I didn't browse much of the menu. My date raved about the Tempura Lobster Tails. I don't really care for shellfish, but I will occasionally eat lobster so I decided to give it a try. We also ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. The Tempura Lobster Tails were phenomenal! I took one bite and was blown away at how tasty it was! The breading was flaky and seasoned and the lobster wasn't overly chewy. The microgreens that topped the lobster tails were so good. The Crab Cake was tasty, but I preferred the Tempura Lobster Tails. The sauce that accompanied the dish was good and I enjoyed the panko bread crumbs. The Kimberly is one of those restaurants that I immediately raved about to friends and family after visiting because we had a wonderful time!
We came here post happy hour just for desserts because their dessert menu online looked absolutely amazing. They were all pretty decent, but none of them were incredibly mind blowing. We ordered the coconut vanilla cake, which was more like a pie with a meringue on top, the pineapple upside down cake was really really good and we also ordered the Lindt chocolate mousse cake, which absolutely did not disappoint. I probably wouldn't get the coconut vanilla cake again, but the other two were a hit.
The food is savory and elevated at this place, I had the wagyu with the potatoes and it was very rich and flavorful. For a drink I had the Dangerous woman and it was delicious, aesthetically pleasing and effective hehe. We had Andrew as a server and he was kind and attentive. The atmosphere here is very chic and elegant, dim indirect lighting and they have a wine cellar as well, plus a sitting bar area in the middle. I'd come back
We were so excited to try the Kimberly because love all of John Carver's other restaurants and heard nothing but great things about this one too! We decided to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday here. We ordered the crab cake, beef Wellington, veal parm, caesar salad, and coconut cake for dessert. The crab cake was definitely the star of the show for me! It was probably one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. The beef Wellington wasn't a personal favorite because I believe it had truffle or mushroom on it and the flavor was too strong for me but I also don't like mushrooms. The veal parm was delicious and came with a side of cacio e Pepe which is one of my favorite dishes. Our server was very friendly and talkative which we always appreciate! I will say the restaurant is very expensive so be prepared to drop a pretty penny.
An amazing restaurant with great service as soon as you walk in. Our table wasn't ready yet so they gave us a glass of champagne while we waited. Once we sat down, Zach greeted us and went over the menu and gave recommendations. During our meal the manager, Michelle, came by and she so was sweet and made sure our night was going well. The scallops were delicious but the star for me were the potatoes. I can't wait to come back and explore the rest of the menu.
Beautiful interior, amazingly attentive service and one of the most memorable meals I've ever had. We got there early for our reservation and they gave us complimentary champagne which was very sweet. We were sat right at our reservation start time. The cocktails were delicious. I had the matcha and pineapple flavored drink that was super well balanced and creamy with the addition of licor 43 horchata flavored. Very good! We got the beef tartare, French green beans, mousseline potatoes, the beef wellington, and the scallops. Everything we ate had huge flavors. The beef wellington is very rich and a big portion. The steak is super tender and the mushroom sauce is very tasty. The French green beans are the best green beans I've ever had, honestly I don't like even hate green beans but holy moly... incredible. The potatoes have shaved white truffle and little pieces of black forest ham in it. Smooth and creamy, strong truffle flavor and a nice touch of salt with the ham. They scallops have a nice bit of citrus that really had a lot of balance to the dish. All in all, everything was like the best version of the thing we've ever had. Even the bread for the beef tartare is insanely good. We finished with the coconut cake that is topped with strawberry and passion fruit sauces. It's a tart and creamy delight with little crunchy coconut pieces and a perfectly smooth whipped topping. Such a lovely way to end dinner. We will definitely be back. We just need to finish the J.Carter trilogy and go to the J.Carver oyster and steak house. Red Ash is also amazing if you haven't been!
A classy establishment in downtown Austin. The prices are on par with fine dining. We sat down to a beautiful card with my partner's name on it in handwritten gold calligraphy. Then we started with a few drinks - I had the Don't Carrot All ($18) - it was unique but I didn't finish it. The aged cheddar parker house rolls ($12) and mousselline potatoes ($22) were incredibly decadent and rich. The rolls come baked with a layer of cheese, and each bite is buttery carb heaven. The mouselline potatoes come dripping in fatty bacon-like ham pieces and Greyere sauce. I was full after one roll and a few bites of the potatoes. BF enjoyed the 10 oz center cut sirloin ($62), commenting that it was perfectly cooked. I wish I got the name of our server because she was marvelous. She was wearing a gorgeous sparkly tiara too! The interior is extremely classy.
Absolutely incredible experience at The Kimberly! From the moment we sat down, the service was impeccable our waitress Summer was an absolute gem and made the entire night feel so special. The cocktails were phenomenal (highly recommend the Love & Lust SO delicious ), and every dish exceeded expectations. The charred steak sashimi was unforgettable, the Caesar salad was perfectly done, and the wood roasted dry-aged duck breast & confit of leg and thigh was hands-down one of the best dishes we've had in Austin. Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, and even better service. Can't wait to come back

I would definitely recommend The Kimberly! It's such a beautiful and classy restaurant in Austin. The food is really good, the atmosphere is amazing, and it's perfect if you're looking for somewhere nice for a special dinner! service is really good and attentive. The Caesar salad is amazing, the tuna tartare is great, and they also have an incredible filet mignon wrapped in bacon and served with bacon on the side. Everything was delicious! read more

The Kimberly is such a beautiful, upscale spot in downtown Austin! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is elegant, intimate, and perfect for a date night or a classy evening out. I ordered their take on an Espresso Martini--made with tequila instead of vodka--and had two because it was that good! Smooth, balanced, and a fun twist on a classic. I also decided to try the Roasted Akaushi Bone Marrow. The presentation was absolutely stunning and definitely worthy of a photo. It had a rich, savory flavor, and while I'm glad I tried it, it's probably not something I'd order again. It was more of a "try it once" experience for me. The real standout of the evening was the service. Daniel was phenomenal! He was attentive without hovering, personable, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the entire meal. Great service can elevate any dining experience, and he absolutely did that. If you're looking for a chic cocktail spot with exceptional hospitality and a sophisticated atmosphere, The Kimberly is definitely worth checking out. We visited Austin for the first time and had heard great things about Kimberly, so we decided to give it a try. The hostess and our waiter were both warm and welcoming. We were seated right away at a cozy corner table by the window. Our waiter walked us through the drink and food menu in detail and even asked what brought us here, which made the experience feel more personal and engaging. We ordered the oysters, bone marrow, brussels sprout salad, and Beef Wellington. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and nicely-presented. Both my friend and I genuinely enjoyed each dish. They also surprised my friend with a complimentary sorbet for her birthday and a handwritten card, how thoughtful! Highly recommend! read more
Exceptional- the best word to describe our entire dining experience at The Kimberly. Somewhat at a loss for words for this review it was just THAT good. We will absolutely be returning. The cocktails were unique, the restaurant was packed but not noisy, and our waiter was above and beyond with service and knowledge on the menu. read more

The Kimberly gave me a wonderful experience in both taste and hospitality. This place might be the reason why I'll start to prefer bar seating over the regular dining table. The bartenders are there to elevate your experience and share their recommendations. One even gave me a spectacular restaurant recommendation (that I went to the following week). My starter was the Charred Steak Sashimi. Honestly, it gave me a very weird first impression. Steak on stir-fry noodles with wasabi in a fine dining restaurant before a salad? Yet, it simply worked phenomenally. The steak was cooked perfectly, the umami bites of noodles matched splendidly with the steak, and the wasabi crema added a masterful, stinging finish. My salad of choice was the Shaved Brussel Sprouts. I wish the citrus-honey vinaigrette was a tad more stronger, but overall I was happy with the salad. The 12 month aged manchego really made each bite nutty and tangy. And the bits of hazelnut, pear, and grapes contributed to the texture and sweetness. Of course I had to pick the Beef Wellington. To keep it simple, it was a marriage of ingredients. I was graced with two lovely cuts and could taste each layer: the pastry, bacon, duxelle, and the beef itself. To be honest, the bearnaise sauce was skippable/forgettable, but was welcoming addition. Maybe use the same wasabi crema or a wine reduction? I was slightly disappointed with the Burnt Marshmallow Gianduja Tartufo. Admittedly it was perfectly crafted, but the dessert was a bit too difficult to eat. It was like a giant Ferrero Rocher sandwiched by different dessert elements and sprinkled with hazelnuts. The textures were nice, but the flavors didn't wow me. And it took some time lodging through the dessert. However I was extremely happy with my courses overall. For me, The Kimberly firmly solidifies itself as a to-go pick for fine dining. I'm looking forward to trying their other dishes and being serviced by the rest of their staff force. read more
The Kimberly had just opened about a week before my company hosted a private event there, and they absolutely nailed it. Everything from the service and attention to detail to the overall atmosphere was phenomenal. The tomahawk (which I'd never had or even seen before) was incredible (I believe 45oz) and the cocktails and whiskey presentation were just as impressive. You can really tell the staff takes pride in what they do. 10/10 experience all around! I highly recommend for business meals and special events or even a casual date night. The Kimberly was amazing. The tuna tartare may be the best I've ever had. The pineapple upside down cake melts in your mouth. The Park House Rolls are a MUST. This is a cute date spot with very good mood lighting. They have a great cocktail list and even stuff their own Blue Cheese olives. (YUM). The service was amazing and I would suggest this spot to anyone. read more

While Red Ash may be booked for the foreseeable future, the hot new Kimberly is bringing favorites from both of Carver's prior restaurants to this posh new downtown destination. Similar to Carver's, the bar takes center stage, but this is brighter and elevated, with a larger dining area of private white-clothed tables, nooks, a wine cellar and event space holding up to 40 of your friendliest. Although they've been open only two months, Rodney is already an expert on the brand and menu offerings, bringing fine dining front-and-center. Catering to my weakness, I fell for the signature Parker Rolls - served warm from the oven with crisp cheddar and chives over top, equally comforting and decadent. A classic Beef Wellington is impeccably done - Carver's premium choice Fred Linz tenderloin cooked to perfection centered in delicate puff pastry with a thin layer of applewood-smoke bacon topped with a rich béarnaise and earthy mushrooms. I've not experienced anything close to this one Stateside in flavor or technique. Carrying over from Carver's, one of my favorites - Dover Sole (I like mine crusted and topped with crab, holding all the richness of the lightly lemon butter sauce). Surf & turf supreme! I'm told the Greek Salad and Sautéed Spinach are great green additions, and the Hot Pineapple Upside-Down Cake almost knocked my friend out of his chair, so certainly more to explore on the return trip. Beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere, definitely a 5-star vibe. The food was really good overall. My favorite dishes were the salmon crudo (so fresh) and the tomahawk, which was cooked perfectly. The duck confit was a little underwhelming, but everything else made up for it. Service was spot-on - friendly, attentive, and professional. It is on the pricey side, but for a nice night out, it's worth it. Would definitely come back. read more
This place is a true gem - though honestly, I wouldn't have expected anything less given how phenomenal their sister restaurants Red Ash and J Carver are. Without exaggeration, this dinner lands in my top 10 meals of all time. And if you've seen my hundreds of Yelp reviews, you know I've had more than my fair share of memorable dinners. From the moment we sat down, they had a signed anniversary card waiting, which set such a thoughtful tone for the night. The service was flawless across the board. From the hostess to the server to the bussers, every interaction felt warm and professional. The food itself was stunning: beautifully presented, perfectly portioned, and full of flavor. Even from the outside of the restaurant your anticipation builds as you approach. Joint entering it is elegant and sophisticated. Menu tries to meet the moment as you'd expect. It's the team that has J. Carvers which I think is hands down the best steakhouse in Austin. However, Kimberly falls shy for me. The Beef Wellington look good but it was missing for me. It's not something you see often on menu's so I was quite delighted. It look the part, but the flavor and how everything came together was just "OK. Uninspiring. The potato puffs sound interesting but were boring and fell flat for me. I'll return, but I'll likely stick with things that are comparable to what's on J. Carver's menu. Definitely will come back at a minimum to have cocktails at the bar. It's a nice bar and the vibes are compelling to have a few drinks. read more

Well, it was very tempting not to review this because I don't want the word to get out and for it to be impossible to get a reservation like it is at Red Ash! But my experience here was outstanding. We sat at the bar, which is really fun because it's a giant square so you can see people all around . The decor is very cool - very different vibe from Red Ash and J. Carver's - it is a bit more modern and moody which I liked. Service was outstanding. They were still turning our seats at the bar for our reservation when we arrived and they gave us flutes of champagne to make up for it, even though it was but five minutes at most which was totally unnecessary, but much appreciated. It was pretty impressive how well oiled of a machine it was in the first week of opening! Onto the food, the most important criteria! There wasn't one thing we didn't like! We had the squash blossoms, salt and pepper crab, Caio Pepe with San Daniele, prosciutto, the sea scallops, and hot pineapple cake. We didn't try any of the cocktails this time around, but the menu looked great and I'm looking forward to trying them in the future. It was so good in fact that I am booked to return next week again and have a few reservations over the next couple months as well. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for our 5-year anniversary, and The Kimberly truly made it so special. They decorated our table so beautifully, and every server who passed by took a moment to wish us a happy anniversary--it meant a lot. One thing about The Kimberly... you will barely lift a finger besides to eat. Our water glasses were constantly being refilled, not just by our server but by anyone passing by. The service was just that attentive. Our server (I believe his name was Todd) was AMAZING--so kind and welcoming. He did such a great job walking us through the menu, pointing out his favorites and guest favorites. He even convinced me to try the fish--and I'm not usually a big fish person--but it was sooo good!! My boyfriend tried the beef Wellington for the first time, and let's just say... Gordon Ramsay would be proud. We shared the green beans and wagyu beef tallow fries, and they were literally heaven in food form. Our cocktails were just as good--I had a matcha drink, and my boyfriend got the Love & Lust. We both thoroughly enjoyed every sip just as much as our meals. Everything about the night was incredible. If I could shrink The Kimberly and keep it in my pocket, I would. We felt so spoiled--such a beautiful way to celebrate our anniversary. read more

What's goodie foodie fam!? I've been Hella busy this year launching a new company that has kept me from writing reviews...been checking in, but not finishing...so here we go with a catch-up review of The Kimberly It was the 14th anniversary for me and my best half, so got the reservations set...and yes do yourself a favor ...get those resi's. We got there 15min early, greeted with a lil bubbly while waiting the be seated. Once seated things just took off...in a positive way Drinks - Im basic got a top shelf bourbon and my best half went with "Love and Lust" which was pretty tasty and an overall creative drink Starters - Jumbo lump crab cake was awesome...very little binder and loads of crab. Not overly done in anyway other than the top quality taste and presentation - Charred steak sashimi...this was just wow in every bite...I felt like one of those TikTok food reviewers that are all annoying with every bite saying how delicious this was..lol..but seriously the steak and noods with that wasabi crema! chefs kiss - Our daughter had the red and green Caesar salad...very nice! You could taste the fresh anchovy with a perfect balance of acid and garlic cream Mains - Our daughter got the Cappelletti Alla Piemontese...we all agreed that this was very good and the truffles set it off with a nice earthy flavor. - My best half and I shared the Center cut Filet a really perfectly cooked medium rare...when they say...let the meat speak for itself! This one was speaking my damn language After all that we finished with a couple deserts...the Creme Brulee tasting was excellent and the Fonte Espresso Affogato was just refreshing Let's recap: -The service front to back was on point, you never have to feel like the server has forgotten you, yet you have enough space to enjoy the atmosphere and meal -Everything from drinks to desert is top notch and some of the best I've had in Austin -Make reservations -Park in the Indeed garage..reduces stress Till next time..because I have to come back for the Duck! read more

We came for steak, but fell in love with everything else. Reservation ran 20 minutes late but was fine with us because they offer complementary champagne while you wait. Service outstanding food incredible Hard to beat!!!! read more

I'll start with our ONLY COMPLAINT: if you make it a point, multiple times, on your website and social media... to discuss a strict, detailed dress code... ENFORCE IT. We were super stoked to find a place e with an actual business professional/formal dress code... bc it's fun to have a place to get dressed to the 9's and have a date night... which is exactly what we did. Had a 7:30 reservation for 2 at the bar, took an uber black, dressed well, excited (we love Red Ash and J Carvers) - arrived on time, were promptly seated - beautiful finish-out, high end feel... very Dallas/corporate, but it was nice. Then about 2 mins after our wine was served, a couple of tourist boomers were sat next to us wearing damn SWEATS. Like, just got back from taking the grandkids to the park sweat pants and hoodies. Listen, I'm not pretentious, but this place presents itself to be and specifies "NO SWEAT PANTS" on their own damn website. They were also annoying people, lol, but that much certainly isn't the fault of the staff who broke their own rules to let Ken and Karen come enjoy some fine dining wearing what they sleep in: Anyhow.... This place is quite different than the sister restaurants... but to point out the standout items; the aged cheddar house rolls were TO DIE FOR. The lobster app was the best cooked lobster I have ever had, EVER. The conches I really liked, tangy, spicy, French, great citrus, ripe avocado... the wife didn't care for the crispy puff thing that came with the dish (unlike J Carvers that comes with the delicious sesame chips), but overall great. I had the beef Wellington:..: pro tip, SPLIT IT with someone, it is AT LEAST two full meals. It was good... this place is notorious for undercooking steaks (much like J Carvers) so my 'med rare' came out RARE.... But being as it was enough for almost 3 people, I just cut the rarest parts to take home and reheat knowing they'd still end up medium to medium rare, lol, he wife had the red fish entree and said it was delicious, fresh, flavorful and the potatoes on the side were excellent, This would be a great spot for a high end business lunch, a place to take a high end client, anniversary dinner, engagement celebration... it's intentionally very formal in its presentation (regardless of not enforcing the dress code they claim to demand). It does feel very Dallas, but some may enjoy that. Excellent service, food is great - and it's (surprisingly) the lowest price option of the 3 sister concepts (don't take that to mean cheap, it is not). Well ho back for the rolls and lobster alone 5/5. read more

Finally a restaurant that's food and service match the price point! We were able to get a last minute reservation and it did not disappoint. Our server was amazing! Wish I could remember her name. We never had to lift a finger once to get refills on our drinks (compliments to the bar staff as well). The bread service was unreal. Don't miss it! Bone Marrow with the French onion bread was divine. NY Strip was fantastic. Definitely one that's worth splurging on for a date night or celebration! read more
