BOA Steakhouse provided an incredible dining experience that started from the moment we walked through the door. I don't have a big ego but this place makes you feel special right after "hello". The low light ambiance setting creates a romantic vibe for those with that special person. Also, the staff is incredibly gifted in the art of positive interactions. There are several different restaurants that that can provide a great steak but BOA excites your senses in every way. The table side Caesar prepared quickly with step by step explanations is an absolute must. It is simply perfect! The steak offerings go from modest to over the top. Since I was celebrating my anniversary, over the top was my choice. The Westholme Australian Waygu Ribeye was possibly the best steak I've ever had. I couldn't stop eating it even though I was full. He did a fantastic job explaining the menu and helping with recommendations -Drinks: Boa-loma (not for me, just not a tequila person), El toro -Apps: Wagyu cigars, Hokkaido scallops (a miss for hubby) -Food: 1 Westholme Australian Wagyu per person I added truffle sauce on my steak with a side of truffle mac and cheese. Service and quality of food here is a 10/10! Our server Patrick was awesome and there were other people tending to our table as well. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake had a lot of difference flavors. The salad on top was fresh and had a vinegrette type dressing and the mayo sauce at the bottom was rich and creamy. We ordered the tuna tartare tacos, the Wagyu tacos, the table side Caesar salad, the dinner rolls, the wings and the Wagyu meatball. I ordered the following: Burrata and heirloom tomatoes: 3/5 Tomatoes were good, the burrata was just okay and didn't have much flavor. 15 Day Dry Aged Bone-In: 1/5 The meat quality was fantastic, but unfortunately, that was the only highlight of the steak. I ordered it medium-rare, and the steak came out medium-well. The server came by, saw the temp, and asked if it was okay. I asked for it to be redone as it was overcooked. When the second steak arrived, it was rare. My partner and I were hungry and really didn't want to sit around to have the steak redone for a third time, so we just gave up and ate it. Given this steakhouse's reputation and pricing, I expected the steak to be perfectly cooked to the right temperature. Interestingly, they couldn't cook it to medium-rare. The steak also didn't have much flavor. There's so much potential here, since I really loved the actual quality of the meat. Lobster Fra Diavolo: 2/5 Just okay. Tasted like regular spaghetti and was pretty sweet. Corn Creme Brulee: 4/5 This was the best out of all the other dishes. Very sweet and creamy! Paper Crane: 3/5 Tasty, but didn't love that it was super sweet. Overall, the service was good and I loved the interior. However, it's concerning that they couldn't cook a medium-rare steak. The moment we stepped foot into the beautiful restaurant, we knew it was going to be a spectacular evening. The Manager even greeted us as we waiting a couple of minutes for our table. Had a really great experience here for a birthday dinner. This was my first time visiting. I really appreciated that everyone had the birthday card at the table upon arrival signifying that it was a celebration. There is a waiting area near the bar until your table is ready. I am not sure if you can eat there, but it was a nice touch instead of waiting outside or at the door. The food was amazing. I have dined at the been BOA Steakhouse on two separate occasions. My first experience was at their happy hour that is M-F from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the bar/lounge area. We were seated at a table in the bar area. They have a bar menu with some discounted food and beverage options. I ordered the Gloria's Margarita with Tequila Blanco, lime, lemon, orange liqueur and agave the Peaches n Dreams with Bandero tequila, peach, lime and tajin. We ordered all 3 tacos happy hour options that come with two tacos per order. They have the tuna tacos with avocados mousse, radish and cilantro, the king crab ceviche tacos with grapefruit and avocado, wagyu tacos with pico de gallo, avocado and cilantro. All three options were a taste bite with thoughtful ingredient combinations to fulfill our pallet. On the second occasion, we had a reservation but arrived to the restaurant an hour early and they were very accommodating and seated us promptly. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Started with the Fire and Smoke cocktail with del maguey puebla mezcal, pineapple, pink peppercorn, honey, firewater bitters. Then ordered the La Quebrada with gran centenario reposado tequila, aperol, passion fruit, lime, agave. This cocktail was a bit sweet for my taste and they quickly replaced it with another Fire and Smoke. Also tried the Smoke Show with knob creek rye, maple syrup, orange bitters, applewood smoke. It was served with a bottle of smoke that you could pour in the glass and it was a fun presentation to behold. Based on the recommendation of our server, we started with the goat cheese baklava with pistachios, black truffles, frisee. This wasn't even on my radar initially, but so glad we tried it as the crust was crisp and flaky and with the combination of the goat cheese and sweetness of the frisee salad, it made for a well balanced bite. Then we ordered the table side Caesar salad where they prepare the salad from scratch right by your table for a fun interactive experience. The recipe had some unique ingredients like worstiersahire sauce and Tabasco for a bold kick. Then for the main course ordered the Cajun Cowboy Ribeye prepared medium rare. There were so many options with sauces to choose from and we went with the herb butter and chimichuri sauces. It was a perfect size to split and it was grilled to perfection. The server used a torch to melt the butter pallet on top of the steak at our table. The meat was a bit inconsistent with some pieces being lean and others with marbling. I preferred the bites with more marbling. For a side we had the crème brûlée creamed corn prepared similar to the dessert with a candied top and very sweet flavor. The consistency almost reminded me of grits but very unique side. For dessert we had the bread pudding with a caramel sauce. It was brought to our table with a sparking candle that was so eye catching and a fun way to end the meal. The staff came by to check in on us and had a conversation with the manager. They were very attentive to every detail and addressed and resolved any issue that came up. TLDR: Literally the best meal I've ever had. Period. I'm not much for fine dining, and I rarely review nice restaurants, because if it's good? Well, it ought to be for the cost. And if it's bad? The Goat Cheese Baklava alone is worth going for, and I would have gushed about it all day, EXCEPT, on the second visit I tried The Classic Wedge, which oddly has a very similar flavor profile and you get much more bang for your buck. Creamy, cheesy, savory, but somehow still light and refreshing. It's everything I ever wanted any food to taste like in one bite. The baklava is 1000% still worth getting at least once though. I'm not big on steak as a general rule, of course it's delicious, but I'm not that into meat, so it's often a bit much for me. But, their steak is why steak was invented. I've think I've had at least a bite of all of them, and the Filet is my favorite. I heard from a co-worker that their seafood is a bit disappointing, so do with that what you will. Recently found that I'm mildly allergic to seafood, so I can't comment. All the sides are glorious. Every. Single. One. We had a late reservation that ended up being even later because our table wasn't ready right away, but we grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited, so it wasn't a big deal. Since we dined pretty late, the service overall was just okay -- not quite what you'd expect for fine dining -- although the general manager, Sam, came over multiple times and was definitely the most attentive person we interacted with. The food, though, was excellent! The crab ceviche was super fresh and unique, and the table-side Caesar salad is a must-try. Spices from Morocco and Lebanon infused with the ground Wagyu rolled like an egg roll. Out of this world unique appetizer ever! We ordered a 2 steak flight. The fillet wagyu and the 15 year old dry aged ribeye. It was served on a wooden board with 3 different salts and sauces. The steak is the highest quality most flavorful steak ever. It honestly stands alone and needs no salt or sauces, but it was fun to try them. The macaroni & cheese was a must. So creamy and delicious! And finally the butter toffee cake! Wow this cake was so moist served with their caramel sauce and a tad bit of Mexican vanilla ice cream on top. My husband and I shared but I could have eaten one by myself! There is something special about a waiter that truly excels at what they do. I can easily say, I've never been more impressed by the service at a restaurant than I was today. I wish I could remember her name, but she was able to comment on every flavor note within a cocktail, and every ingredient within a disk. It was truly impressive. Highlights were definitely the steak and dessert. The porterhouse is served a bit rare then your preference but is delivered on a piping hot stone filled with butter that will quickly sear any slice to your desired temperature. The baklava seemed to be a popular dish, but I would likely skip it next time. The warm bundt cake topped with ice cream was definitely the way to finish off a meal. My only negative here was the cocktail. We ordered the fashion forward (their take on an old fashion). My main issue was the square cube was too large for the glass. Every time you take a sip, your mouth hits the cube, making for an unpleasant flash of cold before you get a sip. The happy hour includes some great deals like $10 cocktails, and $12 charcuterie board that's actually amazing quality for the price. The reason why I only gave it 3 stars is because the burgers were overcooked and just meh (we had just been told they would be in our top burgers in the city... yea.. no.) Mine (the boa) was overcooked for me, they forgot to ask me how I liked it and I got a medium well burger patty. And my husband said the Wagyu smash burger was not great either and he would rather have Pterrys. Or even if they did pay for the dessert why does it matter, if the guest didn't say anything. If your don't trust your patrons using QR code to pay then don't offer it. We tried BOA for the first time to celebrate my husband's new job. The entire staff was fantastic and the good is easily the best we have had in Austin. Great cocktails and mocktails. Server inquired about food allergies which I appreciate. I had the center cut filet and my husband had the bone in filet. They were cooked to perfection with tasty sides. Probably one of the best steakhouses in Austin! This California transplant has made a big impression on the local dining scene. I came here for happy hour with a friend, and everything was fantastic from start to finish. We started with a glass of red wine for me and the BOA Smash for my friend. They offer a great selection of cocktails priced around $9-10 during happy hour. For food, we both chose the smash burger and shared an order of Thai chili wings. Everything was excellent, and I was impressed by the high-quality Wagyu beef they offered at such a reasonable price. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee cake, served with vanilla ice cream and topped with a sparkler. It was definitely a showstopper, and the manager even came out to serve it to us! The service was top-notch as well as super attentive and the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. I'm already dreaming about coming back here to celebrate my next special occasion! read more

We had an after work gathering at this establishment. I liked how they had the lights dimmed enough to give it that classic upscale vibe you see on films. All that was missing was a piano near the bar. Now for the food. I opted for the Cajun Cowboy 16oz Ribeye with steak frites. For my side I had the Corn Crème Brûlée which could have been a dessert it was that sweet and savory. My steak was cooked medium and they did not disappoint. The blue cheese butter that was melted on it added to the taste. I didn't feel the cajun seasoning kick in th until about three bites in.That Cajun spicing kicked in and was just right. It was one of the best steaks I've had. I liked that it's from beef raised in the Midwest, which in my opinion is superior. The Corn Crème Brûlée was a first for me. it was absolutely delicious. I've had regular crème brûlée and was unsure what to think. Boy was I surprised. zit could have been a dessert that is how sweet it was. It was definitely a hot. I could have partaken in a bowl of it. I could not end this without mentioning the service. De'von, i think i spelled if right, was outstanding. In my many years of fine dining, he is perhaps one of the best servets I've met. He was spot on with recommendations, very knowledgeable and very professional. I could go on about the quality of service he provided us. Thank you to Tony as well for also checking in on us. Highly recommend BOA Steakhouse for your fine dining experience. Absolutely nothing about this evening was enjoyable. Celebrating a birthday, we let the guest of honor pick. He picked this. The service was painfully slow. We were greeted and then ignored. No water, even after asking. Server finally showed up. She seemed hurried but we had questions, never having eaten there before. Ordered rolls, water and a bottle of wine and asked for a minute. It took forever to come back and take our order but food didn't take as long to arrive. The food was...just mid-to-bad. Parker house rolls were okay. The butters were delicious though, esp the caramelized onion one. Too much rosemary in the rolls and they weren't very tender. (7/10, $11) The crab cake was okay. 7/10, $29. The crab itself was pretty flavorless and the salad was overly salty. Could be great w a bit more balance. I know I sound like a Karen, but I know how to cook and just expect a baseline. We ordered the tomahawk and ribeye, medium rare. Both were borderline inedible and bluish, which would be fine if it were actually tender. These steaks were chewy. Tough. Definitely not prime beef. I tried the Tomahawk and would give it a 3/10. My husband took two bites of the ribeye before pushing it away. The server never checked in to see how the food was. Another one did, and I let them know nobody was happy with their meals, but it was a birthday and to leave it alone. Long and short, they comp'd the steaks, which was fine, but didn't change the experience. The corn brulee everyone is raving about has a faint foie gras flavor (not a bad thing, IMO) but was also VERY sweet (6.5/10). The fries were "the best part" (7.5/10) according to my husband. Since it was a birthday, they gave us a sparkling rose toast (nice touch, painfully sweet) and a chocolate cake dessert (this was actually very good). Overall this wasn't a great (or even good) meal. I can see why people would come here to hang and drink and blow off post-work steam, but the food just isn't good. And neither was the service. Probably wouldn't go back. read more

Visited BOA for dinner to celebrate an anniversary and it did not disappoint! BOA is a whole vibe and everything about it is amazing! From the food and drinks, to the impeccable staff - it's a home run to eat here! They have so many choices for appetizers, mains and sides. The Wagyu Meatball and the table-side Caesar salad was absolutely delicious! The Wagyu Ribeye was cooked perfectly and was flavorful, as was the Branzino fish! The sides - lobster mac n cheese and the smashed broccoli were off the chart amazing! You can't go wrong with any of the options here. The staff was super attentive, explained the menu options, gave great recommendations and made the experience phenomenal! Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was chic and trendy, with a variety of seating options. It's located in Downtown Austin on 6th St. If there was a 10-star review option, I'd give it - it's that's good! Thanks BOA for making a celebration, that much more phenomenal! read more
