Smokey old fashioned to start the night

The Good: The service! Can't say enough about the professional and friendly staff. Great food and ambiance without good service will not get me to come back. This was not the case here - I'll be back! The Bad: Nothing glaring to report. The Bucatini al Granchio was tasty but seemed to missing something to make it shine. The Ugly: A swing and a miss when it came to their interpretation of tiramisu. Tasted good but really no resemblance - was more akin to a messy napoleon.

Easy to make a reservation online, $8 valet, vast interior with a little outdoor seating, in a new building on w 6th in Clarksville. I have been wanting to try Aris because I love Meditteranean cuisine, and my friend loves steak. Service was excellent from start to finish, and everyone was very knowledgeable. We decided on the octopus, were also given the free bread plate, then we ordered the American Wagyu, Israeli salad, and the truffle fries. It was the perfect amount for two, and everything tasted magnificent. We added the $10 carving presentation which came with bone marrow plus some sage lit on fire. We also got the Dubai cheesecake and it came out with a fire sparkler since we were celebrating my new job. It was an awesome night. I would definitely return to and recommend Aris.

We had a lovely date night here. We started with the Aris Cigar appetizer and martinis. The Lychee martini was an exceptional, non-martini tasting, cocktail. We also devoured the bread and dipping sides. For the main course we had the catch of the day and a ribeye. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. The carrots and Aris puree (i.e. squash and potato, mashed potatoes) complimented the entrees well, but it was probably a little too much food. The staff were very helpful with menu options and suggestions. Ambiance was appropriate for a fine dining experience.

We went for dinner and service was excellent and the food was very good. My husband was happier with entree than I was with mine. My filet came out very undercooked and was just never right when it came back out. It was just okay. My husband had the spinalis steak and loved it!

The Austin food scene is really getting amazing - an Israeli / Mediterranean steakhouse. Really exciting. In a city that has a good amount of excellent steaks, here is a new one that is differentiated! The service was great - our server was very friendly, really new her stuff, and told us she would be on top of timing the dishes and that was really cool since alot of places arent that good with that. Everything was really good - the breads and sauces and i have to say some of the best fries i've had. Israeli salad with hummus is excellent. We went with the filet and the fish - I have to say I wasn't super hungry but as much as i liked the filet (cooked, seasoned very nicely), I think i need to return for ribeye / NY Strip. The fish was delicious served with risotto. Very nice Manhattan to start the meal. They have an extensive wine list and really wanted an Israeli wine but opted not to. Also have to say the decor & vibe was nice too. This is a place I will want to return to for sure (entering the rotation with my grill, cast iron, and several great steakhouses in ATX!) I know it's a steakhouse but now I'm in the mood for more Israeli food and can't wait to try Ezov - especially since they have schnitzel on their brunch menu.

Aris has claimed the top spot in our steak dinner rotation! We've long been loyal to 3 Forks, Perry's, and Bulevar, but Aris just raised the bar. Part of the SOF Hospitality group, Aris delivers a Mediterranean/Israeli-inspired menu concept. Google "Aris - SOF Hospitality" for the full story. The restaurant decor is modern and warm. It's a bit noisy, but not a distraction. Service is impeccable. Our server guided us through our entire dining experience. Valet parking is available, but we found parking just a two-minute walk away. We kicked things off with two flawless martinis, they arrived exactly as ordered, complete with hand-stuffed blue cheese olives. Then the complimentary bread servic arrived. Oh man this was dangerously good. The focaccia was our favorite, with the olive loaf close behind. The sumac butter and whipped olive oil marmalade? Unexpected and absolutely delicious. it took all of our willpower to not devour this bread service. The tomato salad App was a standout: four unique tomato preparations, Moroccan olives, jalapeño, egg yolk, and feta. If you're a tomato lover, this dish is a must. We both ordered the dry-aged rib-eye. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked medium rare to perfection. Our veggie side was equally good. Because this was a celebratory dinner, we were comped a chocolate dessert that was beyond decadent. Aris will $et you back but is well worth it. Their happy hour also has great reviews and that is on the radar for a return visit. Aris is an easy-peasy 5-star review.

The ambiance in this restaurant was something to be talked about! It was stunning & the service was extremely attentive. Our waiter had fantastic recommendations that helped guide us in our order. Our favorite items were the crudo, honey harissa carrots & pan seared fish! I would say the tiramisu was not what we were expecting & would not be something we'd rush back for, but all in all everything else was incredible.

4.3 Decided to check out Aris Restaurant, and honestly... it was a whole vibe . The ambience was giving terracotta dreams--warm, earthy, and intimate--with great background music setting the tone . The bread platter to start which came out warm and soft, paired with three dipping sauces that were all hits . The Aris cigars were amazing--packed with warm spices and full of flavor. Easily a standout appetizer . For my main, I had the pan-seared Dorade fish. It was good, but slightly underseasoned at first. I asked for finishing salt, which they graciously provided, and once added, Perfect . The risotto though... whew --rich, creamy goodness that I'd absolutely order again. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches: after my appetizer, they wiped the table down (love that level of care), and the leather-bound check holder was such a classy final detail . It's the little things! Take home mesaage: Aris delivered on ambiance, flavor, and service. Definitely worth the visit

Aris is located towards the back of a new office building off of 6th street but there are drives on both 5th and 6th. Valet parking is $8 and it's unclear if you have to valet (surprising since there is plenty of office parking on premise). The space has a warm vibe with booth and table seating (high tops that have a view of the dry aging room) with greenery around. A bar dominates the center of the restaurant. This place gets packed pretty quickly on the weekends. We had a reservation for 5 at 8:30 and we were finally seated nearly 30 minutes after our reservation. I think the table was slow to leave. For food: - breads were very tasty with some dips - octopus - perfectly tender with Mediterranean flavors. A big hit - we ended up ordering another one. - short ribs - decadently tender with a honey glaze. I'd share this dish because it is rich rich rich. Comes with some bone marrow to make it even better - Moroccan Tiger Shrimp - yummy flavors on this one - bone in 21 day aged NY Strip. Exactly what you'd want from a dry aged steak. That slight unctuousness and grilled to a perfect med rare. You can have them pre-slice for you as well. - honey harissa carrots, mushrooms and truffle French fries rounded out the meal No dessert this time since we could barely move after the meal.

This might be my new favorite restaurant in town! I came here earlier this spring to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it absolutely delivered on all fronts for a special occasion. First off, they have their own parking which is a huge plus, especially with how challenging that's becoming for downtown spots. The moment you walk in you're greeted with a stunning interior, highlighted by a unique shade of orange that really sets the tone and unlike anything I've seen in other restaurant designs. The menu leans into Mediterranean flavors with standout dishes like the Israeli salad and hiramasa crudo, but also offers more classic steakhouse items like tenderloin, broccolini, and asparagus. Do not skip the bread service as it was absolutely delicious and one of the highlights of the meal. Beyond the food, the wine list is impressive and the service is top-tier thoughtful, attentive, and a level of detail you don't always find in Austin. Now that they've launched a new happy hour, I'll definitely be back soon!

    Ribeye and bone marrow
    Cam H.

Loved the ambiance--this is a very stylish and upscale steakhouse with great service to match. The staff were attentive and quick to clear plates as we finished each course, which made for a seamless dining experience. The ribeye was rich and flavorful, though a bit too heavy for my taste. It came out quite oily--likely due to the bone marrow add-on--which was enjoyable at first but quickly became overwhelming. The house bread paired with honey butter was a nice touch, and the spring rolls had a pleasant curry flavor that our table really enjoyed. As for dessert, I wouldn't particularly recommend it. Some of the options had an odd bitter aftertaste. The crème brûlée was the best of the bunch, but still not the best I've had in town.

Aris is a welcome addition to Austin. I have been to their sister restaurant in Houston and was wow'd. The ambiance is upscale and has plenty of style. I do think the tables are a little close together, I think a lot of places have been guilty of this. The service is very friendly and prompt. Multiple people chatted with us from the server to the water filler and people who brought out our food. They provided great recommendations. The ribeye was grilled very nicely and we appreciated the little show when they cut it for us. A stand out was the Israeli salad, it paired perfectly with the rich steak. For app we got the hamachi crudo. I thought the texture was off but it did not taste fishy. The sauce and toppings with the crudo had a nice taste. As for dessert the cheesecake was stellar. Wonderful flavors.

Went for a birthday dinner, loved the decor and atmosphere, very classy, probably would work for an expensive work dinner. The menu is $$$ but you can share family style to make it better. We had. - aris cigar was very good and comes cut in pieces so easy to share - they were out of the strip loin on a Friday night.. really? - a Ribeye that comes with salt and pepper on the side, really well done - the pan seared fish was very good and the risotto too - bread service is a must - birthday tiramisu was meh and you would think it could have been gifted but no... $16 - over $600 dinner for 5 of us, and only 4 drinking: OUTCH. Note: I asked the waiter for a mocktail and there was no discretion about it + $15 for it. I didn't actually like it so I sent it back and it was still on our check. Pay attention. The valet also gave me a whole speech about how I wasn't allowed to park in the retail spot, it's valet only. Dude, the spots were all opened and as far as I know, you count as retail. I wouldn't be back unless it's a work dinner. There are much better places for more reasonable prices in town.

The jalapeños were just like how I do it at home, sometimes I use Boursin cheese mixed in the cream cheese to get it a little more ridged when you cook it. Bacon was slightly charred and it had some rarer parts to it as well. I love that. I will be back for this before I go home this week. I'm writing this while we're still here because the service has been that amazing. Now onto the food... My wife ordered the sausage, and she's absolutely obsessed with it. It's technically on the starters menu, but she always gets it as her main course because it's just that good. My son and I both ordered the 20-ounce Koji Coffee-Crusted Cowboy Ribeye, cooked medium-rare. When I say it melts in your mouth, I mean it. The coffee crust adds the perfect amount of texture and crunch without overpowering the steak. I highly recommend it. For sides, we shared the mac and cheese and the corn crème brûlée, and both paired perfectly with our steaks. We also started with the pork chop bites, which continue to be an absolute home run. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the applesauce takes the flavor to another level. The only minor critique I have is that the bread wasn't quite as soft and warm as it usually is. But honestly, that's such a small detail in what was otherwise an outstanding meal. To finish, we had the Vanilla Orange Cheesecake and the Lemon Bar. The Lemon Bar was delicious, although I wish the center hadn't been quite so cold. The toasted marshmallow on top, however, was absolutely perfect. The Orange Cheesecake? Incredible. Total Dreamsicle vibes, and I would order it again in a heartbeat. What really made this evening unforgettable, though, was Alex. He has officially set the standard for what exceptional service looks like. Every server I have from here on out has some big shoes to fill. Perry's, if I can't have Alex next time, I hope the service is held to the same incredibly high standard because he truly made this experience special. Overall, Perry's came out swinging tonight. I can't honestly call it a perfect 10 because of a couple of tiny details, but it was absolutely a perfect 5-star experience. Thank you for an unforgettable evening and for making my son's birthday one to remember!

Only downside was that it was a pricey meal.

I went with friends for a birthday, and they brought out a huge complimentary slice of cake for my friend, which was such a nice touch. For my drink, I had the Golden Pop Martini, which came with caramel popcorn. It was definitely on the sweeter side, so if you love caramel, you'll probably love this one. For food, we tried a little bit of everything, including the crab cake, grilled lollipop lamb chops, prime tacos, truffle mac and cheese, crab fried rice, seafood pasta, and the loaded JP creamy potato. We also got fried Oreos. Everything tasted really good, and there wasn't anything we ordered that I wouldn't recommend. Service was great throughout the evening, and the overall atmosphere made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back again!

Thankfully, Red Ash was an experience! From being greeted by the hostess and accommodated by not going up the flight of stairs (bad knee), to the end with hot cream-filled doughnuts. We started with a great greeting by Jacob, our server, who was also the sommelier. So I took his recommendation for the EPC Brut Premier Cru, because I wanted bubbles and it was heavenly. My daughter's Shirley Temple was perfect with her favorite cherries! To start, we had the Hot and Crispy Country Italian Bread and the San Daniele Prosciutto and Burrata. I would be happy to eat this combination for the rest of my life! My daughter ordered the 1/2 portions of Capelletti "Bishop's Hats" and Handmade Potato Gnocchi "Gratinata" after conferring with Jacob due to her odd food allergy. The gnocchi were like eating clouds of sunshine. I had the 1/2 portion of Mezze Rigatoni Alla Campagnola, which was filled with incredible flavors with every bite. For dessert, we had the Hot Cream Filled Doughnuts even though we were full, but they were perfection with the Blackberry Marmalatta. The experience was complete and was sublime. We actually called over Peter, who was the General Manager, and complimented him on the food (homemade pasta!), staff (specifically the hostesses and Jacob), service (top-notch), and overall ambiance (industrial chic). I even said that they should have a Michelin star! We hope to be back in Austin to experience Red Ash again. Highly recommend this restaurant.

There's usually something on the menu for everyone, which makes it such an easy choice for almost any occasion. Their happy hour is one of my favourites in Austin. The mini martinis are served on a martini tree, which makes the experience especially fun, and they also make an excellent dirty martini--perfectly ice cold and well balanced. The beef tartare is another standout and easily one of the best in town. It's always topped with an impressively large egg yolk, which I love. Murray's is an easy recommendation for anyone in East Austin looking for a relaxed, lively atmosphere and a satisfying meal.

We were blown away by the quality of food and the service. Juliet, our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu. My salmon was delicious, the Chicken Francese amazing and the Chicken Pot Pie unique and great, to name a few. Since we were there during happy hour, bottles of wine were half off-a great deal--and portions were very large--another welcome surprise. Knowing we were celebrating a birthday, a manager brought out a tower of seven mini glasses of champagne- a great touch. The Sticky Pudding on the dessert menu also a hit. While a bit out of the way, tucked in a neighborhood, this spot is worth the trip. We all plan on returning soon.
