    Outstanding French onion soup !
    Robert F.

The ambiance lives up to the name, it's a tavern with Austin vibes. Dim lighting dark velvet drapes and heavy on the wood furniture, leather seats and a well stocked bar. Pair this with a lively bar tender and welcoming staff and you start to understand why this unique Tavern has such an online following and gets such good reviews. There js also a really nice outdoor bar I've seen tons of people raving about on social media that seems to be a hidden gem. The food is delicious and creative. Fish N Chips seems to be a fan favorite including my own go to but the Ruben and even more so the Prime rib is where it's at. I also had a Guinness and I don't know where they get it from or if it's just fresher than other places but it's the smoothest one I've ever had. Murray's Tavern has some really cool specials on different days like Steak and Frits with margaritas or lunch combos where you can choose a listed entree on the back lower half of the menu that comes with your choice of some out of this world French onion soup or salad and a N/A drink for a extremely reasonable price. The staff is so lively and super cool they are all such friendly individuals with giving hearts and big personalities. They literally go the extra mile to ensure you have a good time and enjoy your food and drink as much as possible. I can't wait to go back have a beer and try something different on their creative menu. I liked everything about Murray's and I hope you give it a shot.

Did the trick for a guy's birthday who wanted Irish pub fare. We got: -espresso martini tower (these are minis but cute!! The espresso martini itself is fantastic) -Caesar salad (comes with anchovies on top, heads up! -fish and chips (massive, delicious) -an insane amount of oysters (overpriced for what they are, but we were celebrating ok!) -burger (didn't get to try this, but they loved it) Overall, it hits the spot when you have a craving.

Wish this was in our neighborhood to make it our local spot... So we'll have to make the drive! Great service, fun food, fantastic patio, and great people - came for steak and pomme frites special (plus a martini for $35). It was perfection! Tried a few other things on the menu and had a great time. Cheers to a life well lived!

Met a friend here last month partly because it was located near a place we planned to go dancing at afterwards. Great location. I was lucky to get a spot in their small parking lot. The food was great and I enjoyed the orgeat cocktail. There were several flies and we had to wait for one of the mini table fans that were apparently getting charged. We finally got one and it conked out halfway through our meal so we were shooing away flies while trying to eat. Service was a bit slow as we had to wait a long time to get our server's attention as he was waiting on a big table so that was a bit frustrating but overall a good time!

Dropped in for a lunch before hitting up a coworking spot, so no drinks were involved. But they seem to have a nice happy hour menu ($5 beers, $5 mini cocktails, discounted bar bites), $2 east coast oysters. Monday is HH all day; Tue-Fri 3-5pm. My gf ordered the reuben with fries; and in my GF-stage of life, I could only order the cocktail shrimp and a side of mashers. Though it's a tavern, there seemed to be handful of lunch meetings there. And it's quiet, so not a bad spot. Cheers.

Murray's Tavern is the perfect place to spent a Monday federal holiday because they have some amazing Monday happy hour deals all day!! $5 Guinness beers $2 oysters Half price apps We tried the spinach artichoke dip, pigs in a blanket and ham/cheese croquettes with the Irish cheese. It was all amazing!! Other perks: cute ambiance on the inside, plethora of free street parking outside, fast service and the employees were all really nice.

Murray's Tavern gives you that warm, cozy, and rustic ambiance you expect with a tavern but with elevated, delicious food and fantastic service! FAST FACTS: * Parking - free street parking nearby as well as public lots but plan extra time in case it's busy * Reservations - available online through Open Table * Happy Hour - all day Monday ($2 oysters & $5 Guinness) and Tuesday through Friday from 3:00 - 5:00 pm * Tuesday Special - chicken Parmesan & half price bottles * Wednesday Special - steak night * Friday Special - 25 cent martini lunch SERVICE - Could not have been better! We arrived at 7:55 pm for an 8:00 pm reservation and were seated right away. Our server, Sage, took fantastic care of us from start to finish... she made sure to refill our waters, food came out quickly, and she had a super friendly and bubbly personality. We were celebrating a birthday and complementary desserts (cheesecake and profiteroles) were brought out with candles at the end of the meal. PRICING - I think the pricing is reasonable considering the food quality and portion size... it's definitely a more upscale restaurant, which the pricing reflects. BEST ITEMS: * Prime rib - cooked perfectly and the horseradish and spicy garlic cream are phenomenal! * Fish & chips - super crispy and a massive size for the price * Tavern style burger - a fantastic upscale burger... the bun is super fluffy but holds up, the burger patty is thick and juicy, and the toppings are fresh and crispy This was my first time visiting Murray's Tavern but I will definitely be back to try other items! I'd recommend it to others looking for a tavern-style ambiance with moody lighting and cozy decor, delicious cocktails and entrees, and top-notch service!

My group of 10 friends made a reservation on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate us. There is free street parking around the neighborhood. They have nice big tables in the back of the restaurant. The interior was decorated with rich colors and dim lighting, making it a perfect spot for an intimate date night. I saw many Instagram reels so I was so excited to try and see it for myself. My boyfriend and I shared a baked spinach artichoke dip with the table as well as a Tavern Style burger with cheddar cheese between the 2 of us. The baked spinach artichoke dip consisted of parmesan, mozzarella, and tortilla chips; it was warm and scrumptious. Unfortunately, it seems that something went wrong because our burger did not come with any cheese when it was served to us. We did not bother to ask for the cheese since they burger was still delicious without the cheese. Since it was our friend's birthday, our table decided to share cheesecake and a sweet treat, it was. This is a great spot whether you are dropping in for happy hour with friends or a first date with a romantic love interest. They have a lot of drink and food options, so come thirsty and hungry!

Murray's Tavern is an Austin Gem! Plenty of seating yet intimate setting. Drinks are delicious, best chicken pot pie, and the prime rib is fatty and tastes like butter. The service is great - we sat at the bar and the bartenders are very nice.

If you come here for any reason, you must get the chicken pot pie. I think about it all the time and count down the days till I can have it again. Have also loved everything else I've ever had here. It's a great upscale but also chill neighborhood spot with something for everyone. They make a mean martini and have a good happy hour. They can get pretty busy on the weekends so would recommend coming early or getting a reservation. Love all the servers I've had here too, just good vibes all around. Can't go wrong with the spinach artichoke dip, the French onion soup or the burger.

So I've always loved this place and those of you wondering yes it actually is kid friendly so if you have children, you could take them there. We went during happy hours since they had it all day on Mondays. I went with the espresso martini and they're called mini cocktails. Yes, it is mini two words almost like a shot or so, but let me tell you the drink was so strong. You're fine with the mini size. The drink was delicious. They did a great job on it. I love that. It did not have milk or was overly milky like others. I did get the beef tartare but totally forgot to take a photo. They do a great job here with it so definitely get it and they did have it for happy hour as well. I also started off with one oyster because I wanted to make sure I like them and let me tell you they were delicious that I ordered six more and they were only two dollars each for happy hour. It is a full bar so you can have any cocktail you practically want. And I have come for their steak and fruits, which is also delicious and they have a special on Wednesday night nights. This is a great bar just to come have drinks or eat or just mingle.

Murray's Tavern is a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous diner interior and spacious patio. We ordered the martini tower and although they were quite small, they were great. Food was good, but the service was eh. He was a little pushy and confusing? Sometimes he'd come up super friendly and other times he'd be super dismissive. Had it not been for the service, they'd get more stars. I've also been for their lunch special and thoroughly enjoyed. So, I would recommend trying it out, but be prepared for odd service.

The ambiance at Murray's was chill and comfortable. Classy-ish for a tavern but not stuffy or fancy at all. Nice furniture inside and family style options outside. Really chill place to hang out. The service was fantastic! If only I could only rate on service, it would be 5 stars! The drinks were great too. So if you're looking for a chill spot with great service to have some tasty cocktails, then this would be a good option. Now if you're looking for great food, then maybe look elsewhere. We went on steak night and the steak was tough and chewy. It's hard to mess up a good cut of steak, but they managed to mess up two! The prime rib was also not very good. The salmon was boring and overcooked. All it had on it for flavor was a grilled lemon to squeeze. The spinach dip was not good at all. It tasted like cream and that's it. The Caesar salad was also not impressive; it didn't even seem to have dressing. So overall, the food would have been 1 star. Good thing the service was fantastic.

I felt the vibe instantly, like as soon as I put one foot in the door. Magical, sophisticated, worldly, wonderful and more were the feelings that spontaneously hit me. The dark and elegant decor, lighting, design, & layout made me feel as though I were in a high-end Tokyo cocktail lounge. The front room as I mentioned is an intimate bar and lounge area with artwork adorning the walls. It's a modern, minimalist, and sleek space. The artwork is ever-changing (every couple of months or so) and the cocktail menu changes right long with it. Note: artwork is available for purchase. What an absolutely glorious way of combining different mediums (liquid art vs physical art). The craft cocktails & mocktails are the epitome of works of art. I've had great cocktails and mocktails elsewhere but honestly I'd be hard pressed to find anything on this level. You're taken into an entirely different realm just watching the genius of mixologists. It's mesmerizing watching them hone their craft. In the back of the lounge is an enclave of eclectic art and other pieces that then leads you to Konbini, the sushi bar. It's an industrial, warehouse vibe with a long counter that screams hip, Tokyo inspired, late-night eatery. Service is impeccable and welcoming at this cosmopolitan venue. The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

After finally being greeted, we were told our section wasn't ready, the other party hadn't left yet. The server / hostess seemed frazzled and kept running around trying to get us a section and talking to people about leaving. We stood there waiting for about 30 minutes. Then we were finally seated in a section barely big enough for 6, we were crammed in like sardines, sweatin. We asked the parties next to us if they could push over a bit so we all could fit, luckily they were friendly and accommodating. We were greeted not too long after being seated, Our order was taken by the first server, It took about 30 minutes for drinks and food to start to come out. The birthday girl ordered a hookah and it took an hour and a half for it to come out. Then we were not checked on for about an hour, We finally ordered more drinks and then we never received them, We asked three different servers and were told several times that they were taking care of it and it was never taken care of, We left at 1:15 without ever getting our additional orders. One of the servers told us that the bar was crazy busy and that they were probably making our drinks and people at the bar were just taking them. So chaotic. We were finally helped by Heaven and Summer at the end around 1:00 a.m. when we asked to pay for our tab. Of course the tab was all wrong because it had all of the drinks we ordered that we never received. Again, chaotic. After 30 minutes of waiting, my server told me that everyone & their momma ordered a bunch of stuff at the same time since the food/drink special was for a short period of time, which resulted in extremely long wait times for food. The Eventbrite page didn't mention that the special was only for the 1st half of the game, which led me to believe that management pulled this not-so-bright idea out of his anus at the last minute. I waited over an hour for my food & when it finally arrived, it was not the flavor I asked for. The servers are very kind & had a great attitude despite the chaos. The food at this place is always really good. But the overall experience and timely delivery of food during their football watch party left a lot to be desired. I'm going to give this place one more try because you can't beat $1 wings (that actually are very flavorful) & $5 drinks on GameDay. However, I wouldn't go on an empty stomach. I also hope they expand their special for the whole entire game like it was the last time I went for UT/Oklahoma. ***UPDATE*** I returned for UT/Texas A&M. I paid $60 to reserve a table indoors. It's been around since 2018 so most folks know where it is by now. Heads up, you no longer have to use their app to make a reservation. Simply do so through Open Table and that's when you'll get the entry code. So glad it's no longer a members-only spot as well. The basement location gives anything but a basement vibe. When you enter, you'll see the infamous black paint on white walls mural but then you're transformed into something more. An elegant and elevated high-end speakeasy that transports you to what life in speakeasy settings must have felt like in the days of olde. Who doesn't love being greeted by a tasteful, giant, fake bear with welcome cocktails? The low-lit space brings a feeling of warmth, secrecy, romance, and mystery. You absolutely get the feeling you're in a special and secret hideaway space. From the refined wallpaper to hand blown glass lighting fixtures to the lush and velvety sofa seating, you are truly immersed in the vibe. It brings a feeling of noir and romance with even sexier drinks. Being seated in one of the nooks is my favorite and just really adds to the overall experience. If you follow my reviews then you know I often refer to excellent cocktails as liquid works of art. And, in this case, it's like the most exclusive, high-end art gallery of liquid masterpieces. Cocktails with branded cubes, top tier alcohol and other ingredients from around the globe make for a worthy piece of drinkable art. It doesn't end with cocktails! The mocktails are equally as beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend the cocktails and mocktails. Service is exactly what you would expect and want it to be in this environment. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than average but you're paying for art, atmosphere, and experience that is beyond wonderful.
