Great service. Big Ass Burger was a little disappointing. It needed to be a little more seasoned (with salt) and a fattier beef. I wish I had gotten the filet mignon or something else. The Mexican street corn was excellent. Lot of flavor. Made up for the burger. The brownie sundae was excellent and boosted my review. I really wanted my burger to be juicier. It was ordered medium rare. Ambience/vibe was lively and fun. The highlight was the service. Juan was great. read more

The food was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I got the duck, which was superb and cooked perfectly. We had ordered the skillet cornbread and were mistakenly brought the guacamole. When our cornbread never came out, the manager went above and beyond to make it right by removing it from our bill, as well as our drinks and dessert. My girlfriend and I had gone here as part of my birthday weekend while on a visit for a wedding. You truly can't buy this level of hospitality and if I ever get a chance to visit Austin again, I will definitely be stopping by. Just an overall great experience in a warm, cozy atmosphere. read more

Seems that this location is in a hotel of some sort. I didn't see the name nor was I paying attention due to the construction out front and a lot of distractions. Walked in to a nice dimly lit dining room, a little on the small side but the bar was prominent with a good array of western decor. Great menu as a result of varying interests. After spending some time in Austin I was looking for something. That was NOT MEXICAN. Don't get me wrong I love Mexican or Tex-Mex but this NE statesman needs a variety that is closer to home. The jalapeños were just like how I do it at home, sometimes I use Boursin cheese mixed in the cream cheese to get it a little more ridged when you cook it. Bacon was slightly charred and it had some rarer parts to it as well. I love that. I will be back for this before I go home this week. The Ahi Tuna was incredible as well, laced with chimichurri, which was more to my liking as opposed to the oily sauce that most are accustomed to. Great paring with the rocket salad and cherry tomatoes with chunks of avocados. I sat at the bar because I was wanting to leave to see the bats emerge from the congress bridge, another 1/2 mile walk down the road. I will be coming back before I leave. Truly worth every cent with the elevated service. read more

A coworker treated me to a nice early birthday lunch since I was traveling out of town for my actual birthday, and Roaring Fork absolutely knocked it out of the park! The food was completely spot on from start to finish. I opted for the tenderloin sliders, which were incredibly flavorful and perfectly captured that premium, wood-fired quality in a bite-sized starter. I paired them with a delicious cocktail that balanced the rich, rugged Western American flavors beautifully. Our server was so attentive and polite. The atmosphere is casual which makes it suitable for just about any event--nothing extraordinary or over-the-top special, but very nice, clean, and comfortable for a meal. read more

We came here before the magic show as we had not been in some time. It is very close so it is handy. Our server was friendly and quick and the food was all very good. The cornbread is amazing and the drinks were solid. It is pricey but not so much so that you have to take a loan out. The food is worth it but given it's location and cost we save it for special nights out. I highly recommend them if you are in the area, the have a pretty wide selection of food and drinks and everything we have tried in our 2 visits has been very good. read more

This place is great. I love the classy western vibe here, and the service was great. This was my first time here, and I made the decision to go with something new for me, and something I assumed would be a safe bet. The lamb fondue (appetizer) was legitimately one of the best things I've ever eaten, and I'll return next time I'm in Austin for these alone. However, I was extremely disappointed in the Big Ass Burger. It did fulfill the promise of being large, but it was pretty flavorless, and uninteresting. If the lamb fondue is any indicator, any of their other entree choices is likely a more curated and thoughtful presentation in both concept and flavor. I'm gonna be back and I want to rate it 5 stars next time. We shall see... read more

I normally am not one to eat at the hotel. However, sitting at the hotel looking at Yelp reviews around me this place just below my room was a clear option. Their food was incredible quality! Ambiance of a genuine fire and classic bar makes this place special. It is a tad on the pricey side but worth it! read more

Great food. We got there with a group of 4 during happy hour, no reservation, but bar was open seating. Bar top was nice, felt like we were sitting in the dining room with the great service we received. Wine and cocktails were great. Happy hour prices were reasonable. We all tried a bunch of different apps. All great! Tortilla soup was awesome. Didn't photograph it, but it's poured tableside, tons of flavor and avocado is plentiful. Best tortilla soup I've ever had, tbh. Big ass burger was on happy hour and it was huge. Chile Verde also on happy hour and was also a huge hit. We tried the queso on HH as well, and it was made with the pork from the Chile Verde. Queso was a bit thin, served in the skillet, but got thicker after it cooled after a few minutes. Flavor was great. We ordered the main menu rotisserie chicken that came with a side of cornbread stuffing, it was phenomenal. 10/10. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned. Hubby got the 22oz ribeye. Cooked perfectly, had a great crust. Also delicious and worth the price. Creme brulee dessert was also great! Highly recommend this location. Parking wasn't bad, parked on street nearby. read more

Took my daughter here for a birthday dinner. Per reservation we were seated immediately. We had the skillet cornbread for appetizer. It had enough green chile to give it a nice flavor, but steered away from being too spicy. The texture was crisp outside and soft inside. Excellent. She had the filet mignon with bearnaise sauce. We asked for medium rare, they cooked it rare. The bearnaise sauce was somewhat heavy on the vinegar. Missed some on the execution, but it did not ruin the meal nor evening. We shared mashed potatoes, green chile mac n cheese, and asparagus. I had the tortilla soup for entree, as had eaten a hearty lunch earlier. The green chile Mac n cheese was the best side. Outstanding. Mashed were standard fare. The asparagus seemed to be served plain. We helped it out with salt & pepper, made it fine. The presentation on the tortilla soup was fantastic. The main plate was a tower of rotisserie chicken encased by avocado and surrounding fried tortilla strips. The waiter separately had a dressing cup filled with the soup broth. They placed the chicken/avocado mound plate in front of you, then poured the broth into the 'moat' area between the mound and the edge of the soup plate. Bites incorporating all ingredients were excellent. We had huckleberry cheesecake for dessert. Served on a plate with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate, and atop a raspberry drizzle underneath. The texture of the cheesecake was literally perfect - and one cannot go wrong, ever, with huckleberry anything! Delectable. The lighting inside was perfect. Muted lights were bright enough, making it easy to see, yet dark enough to have a relaxed pleasantness to the atmosphere. This was a 5-star experience. Our server was very pleasant, and service was on point throughout. Definitely recommend for a nice dinner or special occasion. read more

This place was recommended by a friend. I didn't have a huge appetite but wanted to try the steak so ordered the BLT salad and added steak. It was very good! It's a Monday evening so it wasn't busy and I was by myself, traveling for business, sat at the bar and felt very comfortable. The drinks were on point. I bet the dining experience would be top notch. The whole vibe of the place was exquisite yet not too upscale for me in my Jean shorts and tank top, I will definitely come back here if I had a group with me looking for fine dining read more

beautiful spot on the water with great service! the interior design is gorgeous started off with the dancing molly, super strong tasting. not a balanced cocktail to me, but the fitzgerald was fantastic the cornbread appetizer is good, soft with a light crust. you can taste the jalapeño as well we got the heritage pork chop al pastor and the daily special gulf red fish. both dishes were too salty for my liking. the pork chop did not have al pastor flavor; was cooked okay, a tad dry. the fish on the other hand was cooked perfectly, allowing it to have a crispy skin while maintaining internal tenderness. the miso bokchoy that accompanied it was, once again, too salty overall the flavors were promising more than what they were to me read more

I have never been to the north location of Roaring Fork. It was a cool evening, and we sat out on a patio overlooking what I thought was a river and turns out to be Lake formed by a stone Quarry. I got there a little early, and the staff was nice enough to let me have a seat at a very crowded bar. On my brother's recommendation, we all three had the cedar plank, salmon, which was very good. My sister-in-law was smart enough to substitute asparagus. We also ordered shredded and roasted brussels sprouts for the table, and that was really good. read more

This was my first time here. We dined during their Fourth of July buy-one-get-one-free special. We were able to sit in the bar area and take the opportunity to explore their Happy Hour Menu. The Happy Hour Menu is a tad limited; however, we made the best of it. I had their Classic Vodka Martini. My dining partner initially ordered the Little Larry; however, the freeze machine was not up to full speed, so she opted for the RF Margarita with Mango. My martini was what I expected. Nothing fancy but strong on the vodka side. Her margarita was not great, leaving a noticeable aftertaste. Our server brought some simple syrup which helped. Eventually, she did get the Little Larry though. For our starter we had cornbread which was very appealing to the palate. It was perfect portion wise for the two of us. Alas, the main course. She opted for the 22oz Cowboy Cut Ribeye, medium rare. I selected the 16oz New York Strip, medium rare as well. Both were scrumptious and satiated our healthy appetites. I will say, mine was a tad more pink than I wished, yet fulfilling as well. The ambiance was like being on a movie set made to appear from the 20's with a touch of modernity that added additional flair. Our server, Caitlin, I think I spelled it right, was great and very accommodating to my dinner partner regarding her cocktail. Very kind. My first impression of Roaring Fork was good. I liked how you do not have to sit at a table to enjoy the BOGO, which afforded us the opportunity to partake in their Happy Hour. My suggestion would be to add a few more cocktails on the HH menu. If you are in the mood for a nice dinner in a throwback/modern setting with friendly and accommodating staff, go try the Roaring Fork DT. I feel you won't be disappointed . read more

Roaring Fork - 8 oz. Filet Steak Mashed Potatoes Green Chile Mac and Cheese Bacon and Onion Brussel Sprouts - American Near Me - Austin, Texas

Visited Roaring Fork for their Memorial Day buy one get one free special. It was a great deal because you can sit in the bar area and also take advantage of the happy hour specials. We started off with the Small Larry frozen margarita topped with grand mariner and Frozen RF Margarita with mango. For the starter, we split my favorite salad, the spinach Waldorf salad made with spinach, mixed greens, avocado, grapes, hardboiled eggs, white cheddar, dates, candied walnuts, apples and sweet onion dressing. For the entree, I had the seasonal fish which was the halibut with a burre blanc sauce. For the $60 price point the fish was not extraordinary and there was a miscommunication that the fish would be prepared with a crust but the fish I received just had the sauce and would have preferred the crust as described. Also ordered the bone-in cowboy cut ribeye all natural black angus steaks specially aged by fred linz in chicago hand cut in house served with chipotle demi, chimichuri, and shallot butter. My steak was missing the chimichurri sauce but was prepared medium rare to perfection and the meat just melted in your mouth it was so tender. We had the seasonal dessert which was a peach cobbler with blackberry ice-cream. Roaring Fork has a great reward program and you can earn points for discounts to your bill. There were a few issues with our dining experience including the miscommunication with the fish preparation and missing chimichuri sauce on the steak, but overall an enjoyable dining experience. read more

The Roaring Fork is an upper-scale business friendly restaurant not only for your high rollers but a great place for a romantic night out. It's also a great place where can enjoy a nice dinner before a show at the Paramount Theatre. You can valet your vehicle there at the Stephen F Austin Royal Sonesta Hotel. I have dined here before but usually at the bar which has a atmosphere. But this time seated in the dining room section. It was not very crowded where seemed like everyone wants to hang out in the bar section. It was peaceful and quiet with great personalized service. The dinner menu had a nice selection of options and decided to order the Rotisserie Chicken. The chicken smelled and looked delicious and was very presentable. It has great color and texture sitting on top of cornbread stuffing, brussels sprouts and, and lemon garlic jus as described on the menu. It had great flavor and succulent not including the cornbread stuffing. It was really good. We definitely had a memorable experience. read more

Good food and service with a few small fixes. I was here for a business dinner, it's definitely to that caliber which is great. Got the filet mignon, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, asparagus, and cheesecake. My filet was high quality meat and a perfect cook, but like the mashed potatoes and asparagus, it could use some more flavor/seasoning. There also was no salt and pepper at the table to add onto the dishes. Mashed potatoes were nice and buttery, but not very creamy. It was more chunky and at a nice place like this I expect it to be more smooth. The asparagus was not great, it didn't really taste like it was seasoned at all. The cheesecake was fine, but nothing special. It honestly tasted like something you'd get from the grocery store. The wait staff was great though - quick and assuming of your needs before you have to ask which is the best service out there. I probably wouldn't go back, but not a terrible spot. read more

The food was excellent, ambiance was upscale, and servers were friendly 8 ounce Black Angus Steak Filet - The sides of the filet were a little overcooked however the center was absolutely perfect Truffle Fries - A great pairing with the steak. The fries were steak fry style and had a strong truffle flavor which I enjoyed greatly. It also comes with truffle aioli and steak sauce that you could try with the steak or anything else you order. I opted for this instead of ordering accompaniments and don't regret a thing Overall had a great experience and would come back read more
