Seems that this location is in a hotel of some sort. I didn't see the name nor was I paying attention due to the construction out front and a lot of distractions. Walked in to a nice dimly lit dining room, a little on the small side but the bar was prominent with a good array of western decor. Great menu as a result of varying interests. After spending some time in Austin I was looking for something. That was NOT MEXICAN. Don't get me wrong I love Mexican or Tex-Mex but this NE statesman needs a variety that is closer to home. The jalapeños were just like how I do it at home, sometimes I use Boursin cheese mixed in the cream cheese to get it a little more ridged when you cook it. Bacon was slightly charred and it had some rarer parts to it as well. I love that. I will be back for this before I go home this week. The Ahi Tuna was incredible as well, laced with chimichurri, which was more to my liking as opposed to the oily sauce that most are accustomed to. Great paring with the rocket salad and cherry tomatoes with chunks of avocados. I sat at the bar because I was wanting to leave to see the bats emerge from the congress bridge, another 1/2 mile walk down the road. I will be coming back before I leave. We came here before the magic show as we had not been in some time. It is very close so it is handy. Our server was friendly and quick and the food was all very good. The cornbread is amazing and the drinks were solid. It is pricey but not so much so that you have to take a loan out. The food is worth it but given it's location and cost we save it for special nights out. We tried the queso on HH as well, and it was made with the pork from the Chile Verde. Queso was a bit thin, served in the skillet, but got thicker after it cooled after a few minutes. Took my daughter here for a birthday dinner. Per reservation we were seated immediately. We had the skillet cornbread for appetizer. It had enough green chile to give it a nice flavor, but steered away from being too spicy. The texture was crisp outside and soft inside. Excellent. She had the filet mignon with bearnaise sauce. We asked for medium rare, they cooked it rare. The bearnaise sauce was somewhat heavy on the vinegar. Missed some on the execution, but it did not ruin the meal nor evening. We shared mashed potatoes, green chile mac n cheese, and asparagus. I had the tortilla soup for entree, as had eaten a hearty lunch earlier. The green chile Mac n cheese was the best side. Outstanding. Mashed were standard fare. The asparagus seemed to be served plain. We helped it out with salt & pepper, made it fine. The presentation on the tortilla soup was fantastic. The main plate was a tower of rotisserie chicken encased by avocado and surrounding fried tortilla strips. The waiter separately had a dressing cup filled with the soup broth. They placed the chicken/avocado mound plate in front of you, then poured the broth into the 'moat' area between the mound and the edge of the soup plate. Bites incorporating all ingredients were excellent. We had huckleberry cheesecake for dessert. Served on a plate with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate, and atop a raspberry drizzle underneath. The texture of the cheesecake was literally perfect - and one cannot go wrong, ever, with huckleberry anything! Delectable. The lighting inside was perfect. Muted lights were bright enough, making it easy to see, yet dark enough to have a relaxed pleasantness to the atmosphere. This was a 5-star experience. I have never been to the north location of Roaring Fork. It was a cool evening, and we sat out on a patio overlooking what I thought was a river and turns out to be Lake formed by a stone Quarry. I got there a little early, and the staff was nice enough to let me have a seat at a very crowded bar. On my brother's recommendation, we all three had the cedar plank, salmon, which was very good. My sister-in-law was smart enough to substitute asparagus. We also ordered shredded and roasted brussels sprouts for the table, and that was really good. read more

This was my first time here. We dined during their Fourth of July buy-one-get-one-free special. We were able to sit in the bar area and take the opportunity to explore their Happy Hour Menu. The Happy Hour Menu is a tad limited; however, we made the best of it. I had their Classic Vodka Martini. My dining partner initially ordered the Little Larry; however, the freeze machine was not up to full speed, so she opted for the RF Margarita with Mango. My martini was what I expected. Nothing fancy but strong on the vodka side. Her margarita was not great, leaving a noticeable aftertaste. Our server brought some simple syrup which helped. Eventually, she did get the Little Larry though. For our starter we had cornbread which was very appealing to the palate. It was perfect portion wise for the two of us. Alas, the main course. She opted for the 22oz Cowboy Cut Ribeye, medium rare. I selected the 16oz New York Strip, medium rare as well. Both were scrumptious and satiated our healthy appetites. I will say, mine was a tad more pink than I wished, yet fulfilling as well. The ambiance was like being on a movie set made to appear from the 20's with a touch of modernity that added additional flair. Our server, Caitlin, I think I spelled it right, was great and very accommodating to my dinner partner regarding her cocktail. Very kind. My first impression of Roaring Fork was good. I liked how you do not have to sit at a table to enjoy the BOGO, which afforded us the opportunity to partake in their Happy Hour. My suggestion would be to add a few more cocktails on the HH menu. Visited Roaring Fork for their Memorial Day buy one get one free special. It was a great deal because you can sit in the bar area and also take advantage of the happy hour specials. We started off with the Small Larry frozen margarita topped with grand mariner and Frozen RF Margarita with mango. For the starter, we split my favorite salad, the spinach Waldorf salad made with spinach, mixed greens, avocado, grapes, hardboiled eggs, white cheddar, dates, candied walnuts, apples and sweet onion dressing. For the entree, I had the seasonal fish which was the halibut with a burre blanc sauce. For the $60 price point the fish was not extraordinary and there was a miscommunication that the fish would be prepared with a crust but the fish I received just had the sauce and would have preferred the crust as described. Also ordered the bone-in cowboy cut ribeye all natural black angus steaks specially aged by fred linz in chicago hand cut in house served with chipotle demi, chimichuri, and shallot butter. My steak was missing the chimichurri sauce but was prepared medium rare to perfection and the meat just melted in your mouth it was so tender. We had the seasonal dessert which was a peach cobbler with blackberry ice-cream. Roaring Fork has a great reward program and you can earn points for discounts to your bill. There were a few issues with our dining experience including the miscommunication with the fish preparation and missing chimichuri sauce on the steak, but overall an enjoyable dining experience. read more

Got the filet mignon, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, asparagus, and cheesecake. My filet was high quality meat and a perfect cook, but like the mashed potatoes and asparagus, it could use some more flavor/seasoning. There also was no salt and pepper at the table to add onto the dishes. Mashed potatoes were nice and buttery, but not very creamy. It was more chunky and at a nice place like this I expect it to be more smooth. The asparagus was not great, it didn't really taste like it was seasoned at all. The cheesecake was fine, but nothing special. It honestly tasted like something you'd get from the grocery store. We ordered truffle fries (not pictured) and they were devoured within a couple of minutes. Our server, I wish I knew his name, was fantastic and quick!! On a random whim, my friend and I had the chance to go see a comedy show at Paramount Theatre and we were wanting to grab a bite before the show. Since we were running a bit late we felt it was best to go somewhere that was near the theatre. Roaring Fork fit the bill and we decided to go check it out. It was my first time coming here so I wasn't sure what all to expect. You can definitely get the vibes of it being a signature steakhouse but it was super warm and inviting. The fire pit near the front entrance was a very nice touch. You have to enter the restaurant through the hotel as their street entrance is closed, but I feel it was due to safety reasons. We were able to be put at a table in less than three minutes which made it all the easier to eat on time. The menu has a little bit of everything but the main elements that I got from the menu was steakhouse, New Mexican cuisine, and standard dishes including salads and burgers. Our appetizers included their cornbread and the "lamb pops" with fondue which were both pretty tasty. Just be mindful the bread normally paired with the fondue has pecans in the crostini. So if you're allergice please be aware of that. I had their burger which was very nicely cooked and was super refreshing. The burger patty didn't soak the bread which is how you know it was constructed well. Don't worry about the bacon as it came out super crispy. Wasn't' that big of a fan of their truffle fries so I probably will just keep their standard fries next time. My drink of choice was a signature mocktail/zero-proof cocktail was very light and refreshing. I feel like their signature drinks are all well done. read more
