Parking: they have some parking up front with additional spaces in the back. It's limited and a tight squeeze so give yourself time. Service: Fantastic! Izzy was our server and we had a great experience. I love that for a Michelin star location it can be luxurious without being stuffy, For appetizers we had the flautas which are the best crisp, full of flavor with an amazing broth. We also ordered the craw fish (essentially empanadas) and they were... okay, too heavy and the peas just did not do anything for the dish. For entrees we went with their shrimp à la plancha and their meatballs. Both were delicious. The pickles and the sauce paired to well with the meatballs and the shrimp were full of flavor and the crisp of the potatoes added a nice touch. Instead of a cocktail I tried their local limeade a sparkling delight! They also have a very cool store front where you can get all kinds of meats and coffee and signed books by the main chef. Such an amazing experience.
Came here to very specifically try their Mead. I came right after they opened around 5p on a weekday, and sat at the bar -- the staff there were super friendly and gave great recs! I would have tried the food as well, but I had dinner plans elsewhere and it's a little pricey so I didn't get anything. That said, the guy next to me got one of their steaks and said it was one of the best he'd had, so that's high praise! I got a small glass (like 2 ounces) of the mead which is $5. It's expensive for how little you get but the flavor is just lovely -- as good as any dessert wine I've had! I could definitely drink a glass of it any time. They have lots of tables inside but the parking is a little limited outside. The day I came there was plenty because it was early and it was still pretty empty inside (just one or two other groups there), but on a busy night I imagine you'd end up having to get street parking nearby or something. Bathrooms were immaculate in here though, and the ambiance is nice! Not "super fancy," but definitelty more upscale than casual. Overall it strikes me as a nice date spot! A little expensive, but I'm sure the food is great, and can confirm the drinks are definitely very nice.
I've been looking forward to trying out the dry aged Longhorn burgers. Maybe my expectations were set too high. The burger was decent but not the best in town. My friends tried the Grilled Quails and Mushroom Paprikash. They enjoyed their dishes. For appetizers, we shared the spicy carrot tomato cream cheese and carrot tapenade on flat bread crackers and beef fat fries. They sound yummy, but I thought they tasted rather dull. We also got the marinated beets to share with our entrees, the group liked it. For dessert, we ordered the Strawberry galette with buttermilk ice cream, and it hit the spot. The best part was probably the service. Our server was very attentive with good timing. We didn't have to wait long to order anything, and she was very nice with a sweet smile. It's a farm to table butcher restaurant. Decent casual chic ambiance. They serve beer, wine, coffee, tea, and mocktails. We got parking easily because we arrived early.
My husband and I decided to try out Dai Due for our 8th anniversary, and unsurprisingly it was amazing! First off the reservations were pretty open mid-week; I had booked for Tuesday several weeks ahead of time but then had some plans shift and was able to change my reservation to Wednesday just a couple days ahead of time with no issues. We walked in through the front as the back entrance wasn't really obvious from the parking lot (which is quite small), but that was cool as we got to walk by the deli counter and see the meat and pickled veggies etc that were for sale. Our server was great, very helpful in suggesting items, explaining the menu, and answering any questions we had. On her suggestion we started with the sauteed mushroom appetizer but also requested the black garlic butter to be added on the side (I don't think there was an up charge) and this was a great choice! The mushrooms were tender but with a nice bite and super flavorful. We also got the grilled oysters- I forgot exactly what was in the sauce it had miso and something else, but it was so rich and flavorful! I couldn't decide what was the best between the two apps they were both amazing. The husband ordered the antelope over regular fries (as he doesn't like sweet potatoes) which they were happy to accommodate. It was delicious- tender and perfectly cooked with the chive butter on top. I had never had antelope before and found it very pleasant, not very gamey but with a slightly different flavor than beef. I got the quail over grits with a creole sauce and sauteed kale- amazing! It comes with two quail that I think were spatchcocked- the only bones were in the legs and wings so you could eat it easily. The grits were creamy and the sauce with the kale and quail was delicious. I was able to finish my whole meal but was pretty stuffed at the end! Our waitress encouraged us to get a dessert but when we declined brought us out a bowl of chai ice cream to share as she said she wasn't going to let us leave on our anniversary without a treat! All in all a great experience, only complaints are that they don't serve cocktails (there are plenty of local Texas liquors to choose from!) but we did enjoy a glass of wine, and then went next door to Vic and Als after dinner for a dessert cocktail!
Came out here on Friday for brunch at 11. The restaurant was quite empty but filled up as we were there. There are very few spots in front but a few more behind but it limited parking. The restaurant was very cozy and comfortable. Service was great. Food was great. We had the pastrami sandwich. Biscuits and gravy with Antelope sausage and sourdough pancakes. Also the lemonade and green tea. I will definitely be back again .
Dai Due absolutely deserves 5 stars. I went for a date night dinner and every single thing we tried was phenomenal - the kind of meal you're still talking about days later. The vibe is cozy but elevated, perfect for lingering over drinks and way too much food. We love trying game meats, and this is hands-down one of the best spots for that. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared, with layers of flavor that actually make you slow down between bites just to appreciate it. But the real star of the night? The taquito starters. We still dream about those - crispy, rich, creatively flavored, and completely addictive. I'd go back for those alone, and then happily eat my way through the rest of the menu again.
Came here for dinner and oh my God!!!! what a nice elegant place!! First time having wild boar and it was delicious!! Our server was so accommodating to us as well!!! Probably one of the best restaurants we went too !!
We tried the brunch menu Saturday morning - amazing! We did the central Texas breakfast - HUGE - great portion size / can possibly be split We also ordered the sourdough pancake - my favorite - delicious! My husband got the biscuits and gravy with sausage - the best! I tried one of the strawberry basil wine cocktails - not a huge wine person so not my favorite - but still good if you like mimosas / wine! Service was great, food came out perfectly Outdoor patio seating available and looks dog friendly too! Cute / farmhouse / country decor inside
Every time I'm here I think "I should come here more often." It never fails to be good. There's always some tweak to the menu. Some new ingredient, some new combination of flavors, something seasonal. It's never exactly the same, but never different enough I feel lost. Flavors? Yes. Technique? Yes. A new food pairing I'd never thought of, but isn't some over-the-top science experiment that might wow but doesn't satisfy? No. Just good food, cooked well, thought out in terms of flavor and portion, served in a place where you can sit, eat, drink, talk and enjoy. Upscale without pomp and circumstance, but homey enough to not be a wildly out of touch experience. Come here when you want to eat, come here when you want to talk over food you can munch and enjoy. Come here when you're bored with everything else and get reminded how good good can really be.
After a huge disappointment with another restaurant, we needed to find a new place for a birthday celebration and landed on Dai Due. There was a small wait... but given that it was a Saturday night, that was to be expected. Parking, kind of a nightmare. Not barely enough parking for the multiple restaurants in the strip, but after 30 min or so stalking the lot, we found a space to park. Once inside though, utter perfection. The waitstaff are extremely knowledgeable on the offerings and made great suggestions. Every morsel was balanced and delectable and definitely one of the best meat and cheese boards we've had. Stuffed after our meal, we could pass up the butterscotch pudding, so ordered it to go and enjoyed it the next night.
My boyfriend and I keep coming back! One of our top restaurants in Austin, especially for top notch quality and flavorful food. Love they don't use any seed oils, support farmers and ranchers, and serve food that is produced in a fair and equitable way. Every time we come in my tastebuds taste heaven. I don't eat gluten and love they offer GF items on the menu. The staff are so nice and welcome and eating here feels like eating in a cozy cabin of sorts. Highly recommend Dai Due!
Got lucky with a Friday night walk in and got a bar spot with no reservation! It was a busy evening, but the service was very friendly and timely! Which is rare on busy nights at many places. It is nicely decorated with a local Texas charm and eclectic details. Never been to this place before, and the first impression is actually very good. We got two apps and an entree to share. The mushroom pate was amazing, 5/5. The flavor was unique earthy but kid of had some acidity to it with a perfect creamy pate texture. The greens app (I didn't take a picture) was refreshing and had some kumquat slices for a nice citrus kick. Antelope(?) steak was perfectly tender at med-rare. The meat itself is as gamey as goat would be. Not too much, just perfect! Would definitely be interested in exploring the menu more and trying their brunch options as well!
I've been to this place a few times and find it consistently good. This was my first time here for dinner. I kind of liked the lunch/brunch menu a bit more. The finer menu did not have too much that stuck out to me unless you wanted steak. Although on the pricier side the food was still worth it. The mushroom had a surprisingly interesting flavor to it. The elk steak was made nicely. They didn't ask how we would like for it to be cooked. We were fine with it being medium well. So if youd like something else decently bring it up. For the whole meal we got one entree and two appetizers. I still felt like I could eat more. So take that as you may. Overall one of the few places they charge on the higher side I am more okay with. Seats are quite limited here and it's almost always packed so make reservations. I did get lucky with my walk ins though.
Mouth still salivating from the food. When I say amazing, that's an understatement. Let me backtrack. Parking is limited and they sent a message stating so and to arrive early. Got a spot right up front which happens to be the entrance to the butcher/shop area. Nice sign directed me to the rear of the restaurant for the host and was sat immediately for my 6:15 reservation as I arrived early around 6pm. Jordan was the person taking care of me and they did a wonderful job. Great recommendations. Started with the grilled shrimp and they were tasty and I can't put my finger on what made it taste different. Perhaps the lime zest? Devoured those quickly. Next up was the antelope leg and y'all ain't never had it before but would order it again. Cooked amazing, easy to eat and those fries?!? Bye, just bye. I could do a whole plate of those and not bat an eye. Dessert was the basque cake and as anticipated fell inline with the rest of the meal. As you can see no plate (even the shrimp) was returned with something on it. Sooooo good. If you're looking for a new place to try, do it. read more
I don't know why I wanted to long to eat at Dai Due because now it will become one of my regular spots! I can really appreciate that dai due is seed oil free and source pretty much everything they use & serve from local Texas farms and vendors. It makes me feel better about what I'm putting in my body. And for the quality of those products the pricing was very fair. You can taste the different in quality and I will be recommending this place to anyone who will listen. Dai due feels rustic, relaxing and inviting. The staff is friendly and the service is great. My highlight was the beef tartar and the flautas but every dish we ordered was delicious! read more

I've been itching to come here for a while now and boy was it worth the wait. We had a dinner reservation (a must here) and were quickly sweated when we arrived. Our waitress walked us through the menu (love that everything is texas-sourced). we landed on the lion's mane mushrooms for starters and shared the antelope, rice, and okra for our main. everything is pretty much cooked in beef tallow giving each dish such a rich flavor. everything, and i mean everything even down to the fries were delicious; but the okra stole the show for me. the guys next to us shared a burger and I saw many others ordering the burger. I'll have to come by (during happy hour!) for their half priced burgers. excellent job dai due! read more

Attended a birthday dinner here and was completely blown away. If possible, you have to sit outside! The ambiance is so intimate while still feeling very trendy. Service was amazing. We had multiple people constantly helping us; clearing apps, refilling wine, and checking in throughout the night. Now to the food. The sourdough was decent, but the spread really elevated it. The blueberries in it were SO good I wish I just had it in my fridge at all times. The table loved the cold meats board. The shrimp had great umami flavor with a sweet and spicy kick. Honestly, the pork chop was so juicy and well seasoned that we regretted ordering it medium! The mashed potatoes were also great, everyone at the table took a little bite and agreed they'd be a dream for a Thanksgiving feast. It's a little pricier than I typically go for, but the quality was absolutely there!! read more

I had an amazing birthday dinner here a few weeks ago. The service, food, and ambiance were amazing. This was my favorite meal in recent history, no competition. We started with the sourdough and roasted beets. The sourdough was so tasty but the beets stole the show. They were to die for with the dukkah and fresh herbs. For my main, I had the medium pork chop, which was huge and cooked to perfection. The crisp edges and buttery texture were heavenly. We ended the evening with some coffee and tres leches, and they surprised me with a small birthday gelato (vanilla bean). It was the perfect cap on a wonderful meal. I loved the variety on their menu, with unusual local meat like antelope and wild boar. The restaurant was brimming with activity but still quiet enough to have a nice conversation at our booth. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and had great suggestions. I'll be back!! read more
My wife said this is the best place for pork chops among other things. We got it and it was very good. Still the best in the city. Meatballs I personally liked better with their creamy sauce. We started with roasted beets and the yogurt was delicious and told it was pressed for a few days. Dessert also hit the spot and manager was nice and gave an extra free one because it was our anniversary. Busy for a Tuesday but plenty of parking in the back. read more

THE BIG: Just got renewed for their michelin green star for sustainability. This cute farm-to-table restaurant is a staple in the Cherrywood neighborhood of East Austin. Tiny lot but plenty of street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: It's been a while since the wife and I came here so we decided to come back and it did not disappoint. For food, we got the Nilgai antelope steak frites, dry-aged longhorn cheeseburger, sourdough with wild persimmon lard, and grilled okra. I additionally had a glass of sangiovese to help pair with the meat and boy did it pair well. The cheeseburger was delicious however the nilgai antelope was a little gamey in my opinion. The persimmon lard wasn't very persimmon-y if you get what i mean. However it was very good. For dessert, we got the apple galette and peach sorbet. The apple galette was unbelieveable with great crust and fresh apples. The peach sorbet was a nice palette cleanser. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, we spent around $200 for all the food items. Definitely worth it for some fire roasted meats and all done in a sustainable fashion. read more

My husband and I LOVE this spot - if you're looking for well cooked meats. We came on a Saturday night without a reservation and was able to sit at the bar. We ordered the sourdough to start. It was nicely toasted, however the back part was still cold. For our mains, we got the antelope steak frites, burger, and grilled okra. Wow wow wow, the burger was so juicy and yummy. I loved all of the sauce flavors combined. The steak frites was lean, but well cooked. The grilled okra was huge and absolutely delicious. For dessert, we got the peach sorbet (highly recommend getting!) and the apple galette. Overall, presentation was fantastic and they have a great service to match read more

I was so excited o go here and it absolutely did not disappoint! This is likely the best food i have had in Austin. I had the chicken fried quail with a a shared side of okra and I honestly could have cried it was that good. For dessert we had a pudding that was amazing as well! The service was fantastic, they really took care of us and were very friendly. Absolutely will be back and will recommend to everyone!! read more

Re. the feral hog butchering class in June, 2026. For years now I have been interested in taking this class and have been on DD's email list. Their emails are sporadic, and by the time I got to try to sign up in the past, a class would be full. I was psyched to finally get a spot in this class. I was intimidated by the $300 cost but decided it would be worth it to be able to get some hands-on experience in working with an animal like this. In the week before the class, as I was packing for my trip (I live on the east coast), I emailed DD to find out approximately how much meat participants would leave with, so I could decide on my options for a cooler/insulated bags for my checked luggage. The response: this was an observation-only class: no hands-on activity would take place, and participants would not take home any meat. I was shocked and disappointed. Yes, I know the DD webpage for the class says "demonstrations", as does the Resy page where you buy the ticket. Caveat emptor, etc., yadda yadda yadda. Ok, so I had to shift my expectations and my plans for the trip, and kept an open mind the whole time I was in Austin and at DD. During the class, Chef Jessie was very informative and I did learn how to butcher a whole hog. That part was actually interesting, as was the part of the talk on hunting, dressing, and storing the beasts (I'm not a hunter but it was still illuminating). I picked up a few tips on how to cook some of the cuts. Much of it was familiar, since I do butcher smaller, similar-shaped animals; and the sausage-making portion at the end was also familiar since I've done that many times. The class ran until about 9:45 p.m. All in all I can't really say what I got for that $300 ticket price. At the beginning of the class, the participants nearest me were raving about Chef Jesse's videos and tutorials on YouTube, which left me thinking, Why did I pay this much when I can watch this online? The food DD provided was just a plate of snacks (bread, cheese, cold cuts), and I had already eaten. I did get a nice glass of wine at the start, though I was miffed that the drinks menu had prices listed (we weren't charged for drinks, but it put me off, all the same). I took a few photos and some short notes during the time I was there, but nothing was astronomically revelatory. I think my biggest disappointment was leaving Austin empty-handed -- no boar meat to take home -- since no one in the city sells it (I checked about five specialty markets/butchers while I was in town), and DD was also unwilling to part with any, even for a price. From my time in northern Italy, I'm a huge fan of wild boar anything, so I was really hoping to stuff my suitcase full of meat; but alas, it was not meant to be, and now I am resigned to trying to find an online supplier that doesn't charge an arm for a leg. All in all, I don't think it was worth it. That $300 (ignoring the other expenses of the trip itself -- hotel, airfare, etc.) could have gone a long way to simply ordering some boar from a website. If you're in the Austin area -- or relatively close (i.e., driving distance) -- and/or have access to boar/hog hunting, this might be for you. But if you're just an enthusiastic cook looking to spice up your culinary game with some added skills and exotic meats, look for online videos and have a conversation with your local independent butcher. read more

Unique take on classic dishes and they're delicious!! My bf and I stopped by after church and we were blown away. The restaurant is warm and cozy but also bright with a lovely patio area. Our server walked us through the menu and made great suggestions. We ended up going with the flautas and the Central Texas Breakfast with sausage. The tallow fried flautas were great! Initially, I was a little hesitant about the wild boar but the spicy broth and lime crema made me forget about it. Personal preference, but I do think the broth could be a little more spicy! My bf LOVED his breakfast plate. The grits and biscuits were my fav. Overall, great place for brunch! You can tell there's love poured into everything they do at Dai Due. read more

Came on a Friday morning for brunch with a friend and enjoyed the cozy space. Service was relaxed, food was pretty great, and parking is easy. The menu offers both some basic staples as well as some more creative culinary dishes - everything is made fresh, in-house, and aligns to what's in season. A true farm to table experience! I would definitely revisit. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, there is a shared lot behind the building with spaces as well as a few directly in front. - Reservations? Yes, not always necessary but good to be safe. FOOD RATINGS: - Sourdough (5/5): Solid sourdough served with a seasonal lard. Fresh and tasty bread! - Dai Due breakfast (4/5): Crispy brown rice with pickled veggies (kimchi) and an egg. Pretty great flavor for a simple dish. Really enjoyed it! read more

First of all, this farm to table restaurant has a nice variety of wild game including boar, nilgai antelope, sheep etc. If that is your thing, then you'll love this place. For me, it was just okay. The sourdough bread was a little on the charred side. Plus I was not a fan of the blueberry lard spread. I had the carnitas sandwich, which was pretty tasty and my friend had the burger which was also good. But this place just missed the mark. read more
This was one of my favorite restaurants that I visited in 2025. I do recommend making a reservation ahead of time. My favorite dish was the lions mane chestnut and blue oyster mushrooms in egg yolk. We also had the beer braised collard greens (tasted better than they looked) and the wild boar confit (my second favorite dish). We are still talking about the mushroom dish months later. Parking lot is small. We took public transit to this restaurant. Service was attentive but not overbearing. It is very nicely decorated. read more

Date day with my favorite husband led us to Dai Due. Sarah, our server, gave us insights regarding their regional focus on meats, fruits and vegetables. Many of their items are organic and/or locally sourced. Dai Due has a Texan vibe with longhorn displays throughout the restaurant. There is also gaming meats that you don't find in many Austin restaurants. Now to our meals...my husband's Dry Aged Cheeseburger was flavored to his specifications and the double patties were aged to perfection. It came with house made mustard, ketchup and onion and pickled jalapeno sauce on a sesame seed bun. We also ordered shareable fries - pure perfection...hand cut, flavored well and not greasy. The fries came with a spicey mustard sauce and beet ketchup. I ordered the the Central Texas Breakfast which came with eggs (chose egg whites), potatoes (fried but chunky and rounded), biscuit (buttery joy), creamy grits, ham, butter and jam. The strawberry jam was just made this morning according to Sarah. Dai Due has unique meats such as antelope and wild boar. Our meals were extremely enjoyable to consume! read more
The mushrooms were FANTASTIC. Arguably the best I've ever had. I would go back just for those. The other items I had, not so much. The burger and shrimp were disappointing. The burger was okay, definitely not the best. The shrimp could have been seasoned better. I expected more from the restaurant, based on its popularity. However, the mushrooms were SO GOOD, so Dai Due will definitely be seeing me again. read more
Great spot to take family in town or for date night! Lots of interesting meat options and flavor profiles. Everything is made in house too, including the great bread appetizer. Top bites were the wild boar taquitos and the burger and fries but really everything was great. Service was helpful and highly recommend making a reservation because there's not a ton of seating inside or outside. They have some great merch, books and other trinkets for gift giving as well! read more

First time at Dai Due and we will definitely be back. The whole experience was fantastic. The fact that everything is locally sourced, and yet the prices (at least for brunch) were damn affordable was really amazing. We were seating inside near the kitchen and we had the opportunity to watch some amazing food get plated and carried out. The staff was incredibly disciplined and professional, and we felt seen and cared for at all times. The sourdough pancake we had took us through a dance of many textures and flavors. The crispy edges were caramelized and sweet, while the center was fluffy and balanced in its tartness. The candied nuts lended a great crunch pairing beautifully with the berries. The breakfast sandwich was incredible and rich. The tiniest bit gamey (hello venison), but not off putting at all. Really loved everything. read more

My husband and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. It was very packed! We were lucky enough to find free parking behind the building. There's also an indoor and outdoor area. The place had an open kitchen so if you are at the bar, you could see them cook. There are animal heads and skulls around the room on the wall to match with their menu themes. Their menus changes seasonally and are locally sourced. We ordered mushrooms and toast as a starter. They were very flavorful and the toast was airy and crunchy. The duck was amazing and not greasy at all! The skin was crisp and the duck meat was succulent. The boar made me think of meat loaf. Not really my thing. But my husband loved it. We finished our meal off with a layered apple cake. It reminded me of a pound cake and apple pie put together into a dish. Not picture but we also ordered a cherry shrub. This whole place was wonderful. I had the iced green mint tea and it was light and refreshing. We had the pecan sticky bun which was good, if a little overdone. We both had the central Texas breakfast with antelope sausage and enjoyed ourselves very much. Super cool place to visit when in Austin. read more
My husband is a big fan of the podcast Meateater and an owner of the chef's cookbook, so when we decided to take a trip to Austin, Dai Due was a must. Upon arriving, we were sat and able to see right into the kitchen area which was very cool. We enjoyed the Sourdough and Gulf Shrimp as appetizers. The sourdough was very uniquely brown but very good, the bread was buttery and the accompanying lard was just amazingly sweet. I got the grouper and my husband got the wild boar chops. I literally grabbed a spoon and drank the sauce that was served with the fish. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The boar was cooked perfectly and served with an amazing mustard. If you're not doing apps, definitely suggest a side with the boar. We ended our night with a DIVINE pecan tart and bourbon ice cream. If you're in Austin and you like farm-to-table, meat forward dishes- dai due is the place for you. Only a quick 10 min drive from downtown (even in rush hour traffic!!) read more
