Overall this is a nice classy hotel restaurant for steaks and similar dishes. There was a group of 6 of us. We order a number of appts and salads which were good. Although, our main dishes took a very long time to come out and 3 out of 6 of the steaks were cold. They took them back to heat them back up... bit embarrassing of an experience. I ordered the Arce style Filet which comes with lumb crab and the crab pieces were sooo tiny. Super small portion, very disappointing... I wouldnt even say the dish comes with crab (references pictures). Overall, i wouldn't recommend or come back to this place but hopefully my friends and I just had an isolated bad experience. read more

We heard so many great things about Acre 41, so we decided to give it a try for the dinner portion of date night. Upon walking in, we were not greeted. Like at all. The hostess looked at us then proceeded having a conversation with another worker there. We waited patiently until another couple (white) came in and they were instantly greeted and asked if they had a reservation. That's when it dawned on me and I asked if this was a whites only establishment as we must have missed the sign. The other worker she was talking to earlier appeared embarrassed and seated us. We then sat for 15 min with nothing. Nothing. My husband, ever so patient and an extender of grace, said maybe they're busier than they expected to be on a Thursday. Finally someone comes and takes our order. For the amount of time waiting and the poor service, I expected to be blown away by the food. Sadly, while everything was cooked well from a technical standpoint, it lacked seasoning in a major way and no one came to check on us through the meal so I couldn't even ask for something like steak sauce to try and make it palatable. However, we did get a couple of free apps. Yay? Idk. Will never be back and don't recommend for literally anything. read more

I really wanted to love brunch at Acre 41, especially since we were wrapping up a great stay at the AC Hotel. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite meet expectations. We went for brunch on our last day and I ordered the Wagyu steak and eggs, which came with potatoes and toast, along with the blooming tea. The manager let us know the steak had been accidentally burnt and was being remade--so we were prepared for a bit of a wait. But when it finally arrived, the steak had to be sent back. It was burnt on the outside, completely raw and cold on the inside. Even after the second attempt, the temperature still wasn't right, but we were too hungry to wait any longer and just ate what we could. We picked around the edible parts and left the rest. To their credit, both the manager and our server were attentive and apologetic throughout, and they explained there had been a problem with the temperature probe for steaks that morning. Their communication was appreciated, but it didn't fully make up for the meal itself. The eggs and toast were solid, no complaints there. But the potatoes--unfortunately--were nearly inedible. They seemed to be smashed red potatoes that were either overcooked or burnt, far too tough and crunchy. I've had smashed potatoes before, and these just didn't work. On a positive note, the blooming tea was lovely--visually and in flavor. The pot kept it hot the whole time, and it was a small bright spot in the meal. Our server also offered a complimentary dessert due to the steak issues, so I tried the bread pudding. Sadly, it fell flat too, though the ice cream it came with was good. The restaurant is located on the Otis Hotel side (it shares space with the AC Hotel), and the setting is beautiful--very polished and modern. I'd absolutely stay at the hotel again. As for Acre 41, maybe I'll try it for dinner next time and hope for a better experience. I really do want to give them another chance, but I hope this feedback is taken into consideration--it could've been a great meal with just a bit more care in execution. read more

A day to walk along the Drag lead us to enjoy lunch at Acre 41. It's located inside the Otis Hotel Austin and the staff made us feel very welcomed. The restaurant felt a bit upper scale with a nice decor. I ordered the Acre 41 Club. Upon looking around I noted they had a private room on the second level. There was a large bar but noticed no TV's so not a place to watch a game, but there was another bar on the second floor in the AC Hotel Austin. My sandwich arrived and looked very presentable and tasty. It had great flavor with the smoked turkey, bibb lettuce, bacon, smoked gouda, and garlic mayo. It looked like the turkey was grilled which added a magical touch in my mouth. It came with a side of fries. All was very good. read more

We came to Acre on 2/2/25 for Sunday brunch - before leaving Austin to head back home. Overall, the experience was OK. It's on the corner and attached to the AC/Omni hotel. Accordingly, bathrooms are located in the hotel lobby. The interior of the restaurant was thoughtfully decorated, with some music-themed artwork. Our primary server was patient and kind, but at some point in the meal, when I asked for assistance, she sent over a different server. The wagyu meatball was a delicious appetizer. The entire table enjoyed it. You only get 4 bite-size ish meatballs and a bunch of sauce and bread for sopping. The 13 y/o ordered the tres leches French toast, bacon and eggs over easy. She thought it was just OK. But it's hard to compare when she just had a very jazzed up French toast from Serenade the previous day. We didn't get much of a tres leches flavor though The 8 y/o ordered the buttermilk pancakes, a side of bacon and fruit. Pancakes were large and fluffy and you get 4! I ordered the egg white omelette, which I found to be well balanced and flavorful. The potatoes def needed ketchup. I also ordered sausage but they forgot to bring it out. Nonetheless, they bought it out a few minutes after I asked where it was. Husband's meal was the most problematic. He ordered the Wagyu flat iron (medium) and eggs (over easy). The steak was more on the rare to medium rare side. When he pointed it out, they said they would fire up another steak for him. That second one was even more under. Our primary server then proceeded to tell us that because it was Wagyu, medium would not be the same light pink as a normal steak. This only ticked us off more because we eat/order/make plenty of Wagyu steak and have never encountered this before. When we told her that was not the case, she said ok fine. I can have them make another one. We politely declined since there was no guarantee that third time would be the charm . They were accommodating and took it off our bill since all my husband was able to eat were his eggs and half of one smashed potato. Lexi was our server last year. I was happy to see her again. Lexi continues to be the breath of fresh air offering us great food options and alternatives!! Before we arrived Open Table only previewed reservations from 7:30PM and after, so I took the 7:30 reservation. We arrived slightly before 6pm. Upon arrival there were more than 5x tables open. We asked if it was possible to get seated earlier than our reservation. The hostess said we'd have to wait 15 minutes for other reservations in case they arrive. Throughout each interaction, the hostess demonstrated a lack of customer service, shortness in her answers and an unwillingness to problem solve to assist us to get seated at any one of the tables that lay available. At 6:15 we went back to the hostess and asked if we could be seated as the 5+ tables remained available. This time the hostess said we have to wait 20-30min to see if other reservations arrive. We asked if we could speak to the manager but she seemingly ignores our requested, and the manager never came to speak with us. At 6:30 with more than 6x tables opened; this time the manager came to the hostess counter. While the manger was speaking with us the hostess was blunt in her efforts to be controlling, moreover, she further heightened the tension by being disruptive and talking over the manager. The manager was clear with her body language to silence the hostess who then rolled her eye, shook her head and stormed off. The manager went on to share there were still other reservations ahead of us. We brought to her attention the tables which remained open and available; the same ones that were available upon our arrival 30 min earlier. The manager still insisted she could not seat us at ONE of the over 6x tables that were available. During our conversation there were parties getting up and leaving making more tables available. She offered us complimentary wine to for the inconvenience. We got our wine and continued to wait. At 6:50 with more than 9x table open we were seated. While we dined and up to the time we left the restaurant was never full. Rather, more seats became available. We fully appreciate our service from Lexi and the food was excellent. I attended a business dinner here and had a private upstairs room with a dedicated waiter. Since I didn't see the prices, I'll focus solely on the food. Truffle Burrata (4/5) - Fantastic dish with a great mix of flavors. The burrata was high-quality--juicy and creamy. Tuna Tartare Tacos (5/5) - Absolutely perfect. Rich in flavor without overpowering the tuna, which really stood out. A very pleasant surprise. Flat Iron Steak (4/5) - Cooked to perfection (I ordered it rare), but the seasoning was excessively salty--I had to scrape some off. However, the potato purée and asparagus paired well with the dish. The service was formal and very kind. The upstairs room is a great choice for groups of 12-15+. Downstairs, the ambiance is excellent for both business dinners and date nights--though it's quite dim. This place is an undiscovered gem. The food is top quality but I really have to rave about the apps. Do not miss the popovers or the Wagyu meatballs. Best balanced marinara I ever tasted. Cocktails are beautiful and well made. This place is on 18th but in the Otis hotel so you can choose from street parking, which is free on Sundays, garage parking or valet. Overall: Get ready for war! The amount of fruit flys that land on your food, in your drinks, and on your table is concerning and irritating. In the time it took me to take a photo, one landed in my green drink and coffee. I proceeded to finish my meal with a napkin over my drinks and wish I could've done the same to my plate. Dark, fancy restaurant. This restaurant is in the bottom floor of the Otis, a Marriott hotel across the street from the University of Texas. I love the artwork here. It's all Austin themed stuff, that focuses on the local area, as well as Austin's penchant for live music. We came here for breakfast. I opted for the salmon poke bowl, which was flavored with sesame oil, a bunch of delicious veggies. The waitstaff sure seems aloof here. They act like they're super busy, whisking around the restaurant. They seemed too busy to offer much help about anything. We waited and waited and waited to put in our order. Drinks sat empty through most of the meal. It was an extraordinary amount of time before our order came out. Everything was slow. You could tell it wasn't the kitchen's fault- it's an open kitchen concept where you can look back there and see just what's happening. They run like a well-oiled machine back there. In the front of the house, waitstaff are just completely not present. Ordering drinks was a mess. We sat at the table, waiting for our drinks. Figuring I could now use a cocktail since food and coffee and everything was taking so long, I went to the bar. The bartender refused to serve me, since we had a waitress, which was nowhere to be found. The bartender wanted me to put my order in with the waitress. I wanted to do the same thing, but she was missing in action. I never got that cocktail. I'm not sure if Area 41 runs the rooftop pool too, but that waitstaff up there is just as aloof. We ate here before going to a show and had heard only wonderful things about it. I'd say for the price the food isnt as good as this price range. I've definitely had much better steak at carve then we did here. I will say the jalapeño cornbread was delish! The shrimp cocktail and sauce is so good!
