Came here on a whim, first time being here. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to get us in. I would say make a reservation first to be on the safe side. The place is clean and the staff was great. Love the vibes at thos restaurant. I got the breakfast chalupa and my partner got the breakfast café. Both were delicious meals. Let's just say I'm so glad I finally tried this place. The menu has a wonderful variety of options that include seafood, meats, poultry and vegetarian options. I bc especially enjoyed the herb roasted chicken. It was so juicy and the fries complemented it nicely. The escargot was a bit unimpressive. It lacked flavor although the presentation was nice. It was lacking in savory. Although they have a great selection of alcoholic beverages we opted out. We will definitely be back to try more menu items. The service and atmosphere were very nice too. This was a tough one to rate because they have great reviews and the ambiance is really cute and fun. Our server was also very friendly and wanted to make our experience great. Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Took a Waymo and was late for my reservation but they still honored it, so thank you Junes. We went for brunch and sat at a little corner table that gave bistro vibes. We were a little indecisive and pondered excessively over what food and drinks to order. After seeing a few passersby plates we decided on the olive oil martini, pistachio cherry cruller, appetizing board, bone marrow bolognese and the cheeseburger. Oh and we ended with a bottle of the June's sparkling rose'. The olive oil martini was better than expected but we didn't finish it. The cruller was yum but definitely could use a pinch of salt or tartier cherries to balance the sweet. But the pastry overall was a nice treat with a good texture. The board was the tables fave. It's basically a deconstructed bagel and lox. The tobiko cream cheese was yum and the salmon was fresh. The bolognese was spicy but overall good. The noodles were perfectly cooked and had the right amount of sauce. I'd say a pinch of salt would make it perfect. The burger was underwhelming. It had a burnt taste so we didn't finish it but the fries were yum. They were seasoned to perfection in parsley and tarragon I believe. There isn't a ton of seating outside but it was cozy enough. Our servers were super attentive and helpful when we had questions about the menu or wanted recommendations. I got the croque madame and it was a biiiig portion. Well worth it, especially being $25. The bride-to-be got the wagyu steak tartare and fries and she loved it! The menu for food was super simplistic but the separate drink menu was beautiful and looked like a piece of art. Our table ended up getting a bottle for some mimosas. Overall, this spot was really great to grab a bite and was the best start to our bachelorette weekend! We loved also being on South Congress to walk along it afterwords. Met my mom and her fiancé here for brunch on a Sunday right when they opened and it was immediately on a wait. And for good reason! The inside was all reservations only so we had to sit outside but I appreciate that they had portable shade that they moved as the sun was rising. I appreciated this attention to detail and experience. The food was fantastic without the menu being gigantic. You can tell they focus on doing specific types of food really well. I wish I would have taken a picture of my dish but it was gone when it got to the table. I believe it was a croque madame or monsieur. Stopped there on a Friday afternoon after walking up and down SoCo and managed to land during Happy Hour. Their HH specials were for wines but since I'm not a wine drinker but I did look at their cocktail menu and settled on their one whiskey based cocktail which was like an Old Fashioned/Whiskey Sour mash-up. Oh how I love June's June's is often described as a little bit of Paris in Austin. Having not been to Paris I can't say how spot on that is, but the atmosphere of this bistro definitely made me feel like I was in a French Film. The service was spectacular and our food came out fast. The staff were so very polite. The food tasted Fresh and the flavors of everything really made me feel like I was having a farm to table dining experience. The artichoke was the star of the show. My fiancé got a beer and I did a glass of rosé. We asked about the artichoke as we are used to hot instead of chilled. We are so glad we ordered it as it was delicious. The chunky salt and dipping sauce made this a special dish. I had to get the chicken sandwich and he decided on the cheeseburger. We loved our order, but were stuffed! Came for a birthday brunch early on a Friday. We were a little bummed they didn't have their brunch menu, but that one's on us--we should've realized considering it was a weekday. We were a party of 9 arriving right at opening (11am). I made reservations in advance as two tables since the system wouldn't allow one large party. When we arrived, the restaurant was basically empty, and the hostess seemed a bit confused when we asked to sit near each other. It took a minute to get approval, but once we were seated, everything after that was phenomenal. Service was on point. We had five kids with us--never easy--and our server didn't skip a beat. All the kids ordered the chicken fingers (basic, right?) and hands down, they were the best chicken fingers ever. Lightly breaded and definitely not frozen. The adults shared the escargot--even our 10-year-old tried it--and it was delicious. I had the duck salad, which was super tasty, though the dressing was slightly salty for my taste. My wife ordered the croque madame: huge portion. she loved every bite. Overall, everything was excellent. If we were locals, this would easily be a regular spot for us. Cute spot. Chill music. Dinner, however, is a different story. The lights are incredibly dim, so much so that you can hardly see and the music was SO LOUD. Like everyone is having to raise their voices, it's so loud, even if you sit outside. Immediately ruined the vibe that June's is unfortunately. Wow really loved our lunch here! We were out riding scooters on a scorching hot Sunday and wanted to get lunch somewhere. Everywhere was doing brunch, but we were glad to see the lunch menu items on June's Sunday menu. We grabbed seats at the bar and I started with an aperol spritz. Their menus advertising "The Season of the Spritz" were so cute. I could sit there all day and try one of each spritz. I got the tuna nicoise salad and my fiance got the burger with fries. The shoestring fries were so crunchy and delicious. My tuna salad was so unique from any other tuna salad. It was thinly sliced raw tuna in delicious olive oil with a bit of each ingredient stacked on top. It was so savory and rich. I will absolutely go back for this salty salad! My fiance loved the burger and really savored every bite. It was so juicy. Service at the bar was really quick! Be aware if you sit at the bar people line up for the single bathroom and will be hovering around you. The air conditioner was on overdrive I'm sure since it was so hot, but the ceiling was leaking on people in the bathroom line. With so many people packed in the restaurant and the door constantly swinging open to the heat, I'm sure they were just trying to keep it cool. We will be back very soon! read more

My experience at June's is limited to just drinks with a date before we went to dinner next door. That said - I really like the ambiance here, it's kind of "low-light diner chic?" It has a retro vibe to me but it's still quite nice. The cocktail menu was also pretty great and they had beer/wine etc too. Our server was helpful and gave me an explanation of the "sherry cocktail" (I like sherry!), and it was quite summery and fun! I also appreciated it was decently sized, given it was $16. Junes is such a cute brunch bar/dinner restaurant/cafe located on south congress! We were quickly seated for our 6:00pm reservation today and service was great. I assume this place stays busy because seating filled up quickly. For starters we ordered the Whipped Ricotta ($18) and the Fried Baby Eggplant ($14). Let's start with the whipped ricotta--it was just okay and the running theme here is lack of seasoning and soggy breading! The whipped ricotta prices go head to head with Aba's whipped feta, but fails poorly... Junes lacks the sophisticated flavors and seasoning. The baby eggplant was really bland. I enjoyed my drink. I ordered the June Punch it's $16 and comes in The tiniest glass, again dissatisfying based on what you recieve. For my main I went with the safe option which was the chicken sandwich. It was okay but again the breading was SO odd. The texture was not firm enough for my liking. The server was darling and deserved the great tip we left. Ambiance is great as well!
