Really enjoyed trying some wines here! They seem to carry mostly (if not only) Texas wines and the bartender told us in depth on what we were tasting. I would definitely come back here!

Rating: 3.1/5 We tried The Austin Winery on two different occasions, and both times their wine was just okay or not good. The first time was a wine flight we had catered at our apartment, while the second time, we visited in person with a group of friends. Honestly, the wines we buy from Costco taste better. We did the $20 wine tasting flight where you get to choose 3 from the menu. The pros are that it's cheap and they give generous pours, but the con is that the wines don't taste good. Thank goodness I shared with my husband because I wouldn't have been able to finish it myself. 1. Picpoul Blanc: One Elm Vineyards - High Plains white wine with notes of lemongrass, pink lemonade, and raspberry. It was okay. 2. Aqua Pazza - High Plains/High Country orange wine with notes of apricot, candied lemon, and orange zest. It tasted like a bitter citrus wine and was our least favorite of the wines we tried. 3. GSM: Salt Lick Vineyards - Hill Country chilled red wine with notes of mint berry crunch and herbal. I think we prefer non-chilled red wine, since the tannins were super muted, but the cold temperature does make it more enjoyable on a hot day. Lavender Haze ($15): This is a wine cocktail made with Ocho, lemon, lavender simple syrup, topped with Rambler, and garnished with a lemon wheel. Ocho is a Salt Lick Vineyards - Hill Country white wine with soft lychee, beeswax, and freshly minted bills. It's a light and bright wine cocktail that's great for an afternoon drink. Bread With Oil & Balsamic Reduction ($6): You definitely need to dip the bread in the balsamic reduction; otherwise, the bread is just so bland by itself. Recommend getting the shareables instead, since the bread doesn't really add anything to the wine tasting. Our friends got the charcuterie, and the meat, cheese, and fig really helped us get through the wine flight.

My wife and I stumbled in here on a day date and had a awesome experience. We did a tasting and all the wines were excellent. My wife is a big fan of their Red Nat. From that point on we were hooked. We went on to become wine club members and we have had birthday party's here. Enjoyed the locations anniversary parties and it's just become a part of hour neighborhood and life. The Austin Winery kicks ass in anyway you could possibly imagine. Great wine, amazingly knowledgable employees and owners and a super comfortable me space.

What a great place in the middle of Austin. Located in The Yard off of St Elmo, this winery who makes all their own wines from Texas grapes offers wine by the glass, bottle or flight. With a short list of appetizers and a comprehensive ambiance of wine-making tools amongst the tables, hosts like Ryan are eager to share their knowledge and the special process of providing wine true to the Terra they come from. The entire complex is full of warehouses with painted corrugated steel that is photo-worthy. Relaxed and very Austin! Give it a try!

Came in for a fundraiser. It's always a lovely experience visiting the Austin winery. The staff is very kind, professional and knowledgeable about all the wine selections. I love supporting local businesses and this is just that. They have a nice laid back atmosphere with a selection of yummy small bites on the menu. There's also a food truck available if you want a bigger meal. The hardest part about visiting is making the selection of wine bc there are so many great options. A local business who fundraising with local charities in the area is always going to be top tier! Thanks for helping the community and serving up yummy wine.

This is located in a restyled industrial area with both indoor and some outdoor seating. Cozy couches and barstools as well as picnic tables. The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. They explained best sellers and gave suggestions based on our preferences. We purchased two flights. They are on the pricier side but they were good wines. Will be back again if in the area.

Parking - free parking lot Service - friendly and knowledgeable Options - many wine choices that are good quality and some fun blends. Food - usually a food truck around the corner. Seating - mix of high tops, some lounge couches, and low tables for different sized parties. Ambiance - upscale casual; great music choices a blend of new and old school they isn't too loud (conversations are easy to hold).

Loved the modern and bright vibe this winery had! We stumbled upon it while exploring the area so we decided to go inside. It was fun to talk to the wine-makers and get an idea for which to try. There isn't a super wide selection, but they will help you find something. Only thing I was a little disappointed about was that all the white wines were orange wines. I shared a Rose called Once Upon a Time in Texas with the girls and it was delicious and full, without being super sweet. We also ordered the large Cheese & Charcuterie board which was very delicious and larger than it looks. My only suggestion would be to label the cheeses/what's on the board - because it's not on the menu either. We loved all the fixings on the board, and I'm still thinking about the soft cheese!

You know it's a good sign when most of the people who work the tasting room do it because they love…read morethe wine. All the wines are made from 100% Texas grown grapes by a Texas native, Randy Hester (from Houston maybe?), who started as an intern at Cakebread Cellars in Napa. You can order by the glass or opt for a tasting. They do a great job catering to your palette and will customize the tasting most of the time. If you're driving to Fredericksburg or Georgetown for your wine membership pick ups, I highly recommend going in for a tasting here. I'd be surprised if you didn't decide to switch. They also have great member events pretty regularly. The atmosphere inside is very relaxed. It's like a little cool oasis (especially during the summer). Really, besides the wine, which speaks for itself, the staff make this place. They're knowledgeable and they all are pretty passionate about the wine. Parking is easy most days and the Yard offers some options for food that you can have brought in to you (or you can grab and bring in) or order a cheese board with your wine. Overall, 10/10 would recommend!

Their unassuming location is in The Yard off St Elmo, across from Vacancy Brewery. They managed to turn a warehouse space into an intimate and polished tasting room. Hard to be objective about what has become of the in-walking-distance, best ever convenience store…read morenext to Mr R's apartment when we were dating a billion years ago but I will try. Thanks to Brent L, I knew when the half dozen front parking spots weren't convenient to calmly take the next right and look for another lot--there's perhaps a dozen more back there. Since we were here for Monday lunch, parking was not an issue. Front parking plops you at the convenience section's front door. If you walk around the left and towards the outdoor seating/stage you'll find restrooms and rear parking lot ahead of you plus the restaurant/bar entrance on your right. Once inside by any route you can find the communicating doors to the other sections of the business. Stepping inside the bar/restaurant from 2:30pm August parking lot sun was blissfully dark. Actually reminded me of the bar scene in Nurse Betty until I smelled the seasonings and my eyes adjusted. A couple quiet patrons wrapping up their bar tab, conversation-friendly music playing, kind young woman at the bar took our lunch order. The setting is hole in the wall bar but clean and fused to convenience store shelving. Don't let that fool you, bc the kitchen does not slouch. Our table was $55 before tip and without any alcohol--bindhi masala for him, lamb saag for me, samosas, Mexican cokes, and garlic naan. The young lady came over to open the Mexican cokes and also brought our food when it was ready. When we first took a booth the music selection was from the time we were dating. By the time we got cokes and samosas, they were playing my parents' era. We each were pleased with the spice levels we'd chosen and ate as much as we could, taking about half to go. Mr R finished his leftovers for dinner and mine waited until Wednesday. We hardly spoke after the meal arrived, just enjoying flavors and textures and the strange nostalgia of having a meal for the first time in a building that you simultaneously know very well and not at all any longer. The restrooms outside were clean and the outside seating/stage looked like it would be fun in more habitable seasons. After eating, Mr R melted off to scout out an interesting bottle of gin for friends and found something satisfactory. Wish we'd noticed the tees by the bar entrance, I would have snagged him one. It was easy getting out of the lot and on the road back south since we left a squeak before rush hour hit, but locals will already be aware of the essence of timing. There are several different kinds of events you can partake in at this ongoing institution, but for two old folks seeking a tasty meal and memories, a weekday lunch was perfect. I hope we don't wait as long to return next time.

Casual, loud music, fun, and definitely memorable! We had the Vindaloo Paneer lunch special ($11.99) and the Chicken Tikka Kebab (listed on the menu as Tandoori Chicken, $14), and each was fantastic. The Vindaloo Paneer had the perfect heat level. It was super flavorful and was a generous serving size. It included plenty of rice. The Chicken Tikka Kebab was thigh meat, and it was cooked perfectly. It came out sizzling hot and was well seasoned and not even close to being dry. It was very juicy. The Jalapeño Naan ($6) was a standout. Great spice, awesome flavor. I'm definitely ordering that again! Their wide selection of draft beers (averaging around $7) is a big bonus for you drunkards out there. , The parking: it totally sucks. As of September 2025 the parking is very limited.
