Employees are very inconsistent about their policies. I was told by a few employees and their managers that refills were unlimited initially, and when I tried to get my 2nd refill after seeing two movies in a row at the theater, as I prepared to see another one, I was met with hostility by a different employee that was there, and the managers chewed me out when I tried to politely explain things. The managers that handled the situation were extremely rude, and basically dismissed everything I said like I was a liar or something. I didnt make a big deal out of it because I just saw it as a simple misunderstanding because apparently refills are only honored once and that's it throughout the day. Apparently, not every employee honors that policy. From that point on, I usually abide by their policy, regardless, of what their other employees tell me. After all, I used to work in customer service myself almost my entire life, so I understand what employees that work at stores, theaters and etc go through daily. However, this hasn't stopped one of the managers that handled the situation to give me death glares every time I come into the theater. She doesnt greet me with a smile, nor say "your welcome" whenever I say thanks when she does help me out a few times since that incident. I reported this person already to Regal directly, and I dont believe she's been punished accordingly for her rudeness, and lack of customer service. I dont expect every employee I meet at a service outlet to be buddies with me. That would be absurd, but I do expect to be greeted with a smile and customer service if im paying money into your establishment, regardless if you like me or not. I dont feel that's unreasonable to ask for. This includes service with a smile. Granted, most of the managers there are cool people, and I get along with them just fine. However its their main manager, whos name I won't mention because I dont want to doxx her. However, I will warn people that the employees aren't always consistent about their policies which can create issues and misunderstandings. read more

The workers were very friendly and helpful with recommendations on snacks to try. Everything felt very nostalgic and looked well kept. The theater was clean and spacious! Came in for a Sunday matinee (10:45 AM) and was shocked by the ticket price--only $12! Unfortunately, concession prices don't fluctuate for early risers-- a small bag of popcorn cost almost as much as the ticket itself! Our trip to the movie theater wasn't planned, and so we didn't buy tickets in advance for our screening, Freakier Friday. Despite the movie just being released this past Friday, the showing was nearly empty & only had adults in attendance. Came here on a Spring Break Tuesday and to my pleasant surprise if you are a Regal Crown Club member you get to utilize Regal Value Tuesdays. The staff member selling the popcorn was kind enough to tell me this and patient enough to let me sign up on the app right then and there. Popcorn was half off and discounted tickets - how can you beat that?! The staff was so kind, the movie theater was clean. The leather seats seemed new and reclined quite a bit WITH leg elevation - nice to accommodate any angle of preference lol. The temperature was perfect and the volume and size of movie projection was right on. For sure an enjoyable experience to write home about - with an added bonus of a Value Day deal. read more

I like Regal theaters in general (at least the ones in Austin). They are usually clean, very comfortable, have good popcorn, and the staff is friendly and ready to help. Westgate is never too busy and easy to navigate. This location is near some great restaurants, including Amy's Ice Cream, so it's also convenient for making a night of it. read more

I arrived around 8pm on a Monday evening (New Years) with my son and sister to see The Color Purple. We were visiting from out of state I bought our tickets via the Regal app. On arrival, they have the ticket window but it was closed. Inside, we were greeted promptly and told which theater to go to. We stoped to the concession stand to get popcorn and drink. The employee was very helpful and friendly. There is a small "arcade" area to the right. The restrooms were available prior to individual theaters. The men's restroom was clean, no complaints. We were in theater 8 and the layout was much different than in accustomed to. You can see the screen from the entrance. I assume it was one of the smaller theaters. The seats reclined and there was a headrest. It was comfy. The cupholders are large enough for the cups and the armrest is wide enough to hold a large tub of popcorn. The popcorn, though, was mediocre. It was warm-ish and didn't taste very fresh. It was a Monday, so I doubt they were busy to constantly have fresh popcorn. Overall, it was a good experience. No major complaints. read more

I met some friends here to go see the Barbie movie. It's been ages since I was in a regular theater. I typically go to the place where there is no basement. *Do you recognize my PeeWee Herman movie reference? If you do...high five. If you don't, google it. ;) The lobby felt just like a movie theater lobby did back in the day. There were even arcade games on one side of the lobby. :) My friends decided to get some snacks. The best value is the kid's pack. I mean aren't we all kids at heart? You get a little tray with popcorn, a small drink, and a pack of fruit snacks. I asked for water and he asked me if I wanted a bottle of water or just a glass of water...which he gave me for free!! Thanks dude! We were in Theater 2. Row D. Just a warning that seat D2 does not recline. They should have not sold that seat to be fair. A reclining seat that doesn't recline doesn't seem right. We saw lots of people dressed up for the Barbie movie. We all looked at each other and we laughed. We were all in shades of black and grey. ;) I did see a lady in the lobby who looked adorable. She had on a Barbie shirt and cute earrings. (See photo) She was prepared! We all loved the movie. We didn't know what to expect but it was great! Go see it and wear some pink. The most comfortable recliner seats, perfect arm rest so you don't touch the person next to you lol, I took my 2 little kids last Sunday, we watched Paddintong on Peru, I'm from Peru so that movie was a must!!! We loved it and of course I cried at the end... I feel the same way Paddigtong! The girl at reception was so nice, she took some pics of us, we got popcorn, fresh, salty and buttery, perfect! I have been to all the Regal theaters in Austin, and this is definitely the nicest. The most important parts are the comfortable reclining seats that go almost horizontal and the spacious aisles so you never have to scoot by anybody. They even have a private party room you can book for your group of kids! The entrance is rather impressive by itself with grand open spaces resembling an old train station with exposed girders and a large clock over the concession stand. The bathrooms are clean and bright and everything seems roomy and comfortable. I definitely recommend the Regal Unlimited pass that works through the app in your phone and grants free admission to all the movies you want to see for $18 a month, gives small discounts on concessions, and even works on the other Regal theaters seamlessly if you find yourself in another part of town. If you plan on seeing more than one movie a month you can't go wrong at that price! read more

This was my first time at Regal Westgate, and I thought it was really nice! The concession stand is directly in front when you enter and they have a lot of advertising boards and posters to take pictures with. The staff up front is super friendly, as soon as I entered one of their employees asked if I needed help and was able to immediately direct me to my assigned theater. I didn't expect for them to have recliner seats, but they did and they were really comfortable and reclined back a decent amount. The pizza combo came with four items, the pizza of your choice, candy, a drink, and popcorn. The pizza was decent, it could've been a little better, I just felt like it tasted like the Totino's party pizzas. For all four items it was roughly about $35, so a bit pricey in my opinion but not many theatre's offer a combo like that. The screen in theater 10 is big and if you're like me who likes to sit in the back because the screen is sometimes too bright, this movie theatre was great! I will definitely be coming here again! read more

This was my first time at this theater even though I used to work right around the corner and would pass it all the time. I went t to see the new version of The Color Purple and had no idea this gem of a theater was so awesome. The concessions have so much more than I expected. They all tons of beers and seltzers and other drinks besides sodas and water. Also the menu was extensive in different types of popcorn that they call gourmet popcorn. Pizza caught my eye and other things you can eat for a real meal. I was in a rush before the movie started so I went with the basic bag of popcorn and a water. Sure as expected, anything you get is going to be pricey like any theater. So a small bag of popcorn and water ran me about $15. The menu is animated with a lit up rotating menu and movie ads. The clerk was super friendly and fast. The staff was great and take pride in working there which was great as it made my experience wanting to come back for other movies. The theatre seats are the kind that recline and mine could recline so much, I needed to adjust it not so far back so I could take sips of my water and snack on popcorn. Oh yes and see the movie. I've never owned a recliner but this one I could've taken a comfy nap on. There's a cup holder on each side and arm rests. So there's plenty to of room to not feel crowded by anyone sitting next to you. The washrooms are close by the theater, so if you need to rush out in the middle of a film, it won't take long to get back to your seat. They were clean and spacious. I went after the film and found it funny as all the toilets seem to be flushing the entire time I was in there. So the pipes are in good shape. LOL it's close to Central Market and the parking lot has plenty of room. read more

This is our go-to movie theater, and we still love it, but our latest visit had a few strange things happen. The chairs were incredibly squeaky every time we adjusted the angle of the recline, so anyone getting up to use the restroom, move around, etc., made a loud squeaky noise. Not the worst thing to happen, but not ideal in a quiet scene. As our movie was ending, there was also a power outage in the theater. It didn't impact us and I'm not sure if it was grid related or a wiring issue, but I do feel bad for anyone who was trying to watch a movie when that happened as well as for all of the theater employees who had to work to resolve this issue, likely issue refunds, etc. Only other thing to say is that the butter popcorn was a tad less delicious than I remember and was a bit stale, but they had a promo where it was only $4 with a drink, so it wasn't too expensive either. All in all, the theater has comfortable seats with an awesome recline range, spacious seats, and is a great temperature (just a tad on the chilly side, but not freezing). Love this theater and definitely plan to keep coming back! read more

Regal Westgate has been renovated top to bottom since I worked here 15 years ago. The bucket seats have been replaced with leather recliners. The rows are wide, and you can move around comfortably. The recliners are soft and feel new. The carpet has been reupholstered to a bright and jazzy pattern. I am trying out Regal Unlimited for the second time here, and unfortunately my viewings have been mixed. Auditorium 11 is one of the stadium theaters, surround sound and lots of seats. The sound is great, the picture sharp except for the left corner, which has a rainbow effect in daylight scenes. I've seen the Flash and Asteroid City in this theater, rainbow glare in both films. For my Flash viewing, the house lights never came down, not great either. I saw Spiderverse in one of the smaller theaters to the right; the 8 on the right side are smaller stadium, I guess. It looked and sounded fantastic; the curtains part to expand the screen to the widescreen aspect ratio. This was a blast, however the attendants did not check the theater, and a couple in the back row was audibly making out. Today, I saw Past Lives in Auditorium 7. It is an indie film, a beautiful Korean love story in a cropped aspect ratio. Why do I care about the aspect ratio? Oh brother. The theater was packed; I couldn't get my usual row D for this screening, which is the best row, a perfect view of the screen. I had to choose row C, which is lower in the theater, beneath the stairs. Unfortunately, this was the wrong choice for this movie. Due to the cropped aspect ratio, the bottom 2 rows obscured my view of the film. The subtitles thankfully weren't cut off, but I was unable to immerse myself. I've seen so many indie films around Austin, and never had this problem. I reported it to the manager; nothing was resolved, however she politely explained the aspect ratio difference, and that I was the first patron to report this. Folks, this is 2023. There are so many unlimited movie passes now; Alamo, Cinemark, Regal, AMC. If your theater cannot accommodate a cropped indie film so that every seat in the theater looks amazing and dead center, what is the point exactly? Look, I'm a movie buff.I hadn't seen other reviews go into the details of the screen issues here. If you love Alamo and you love film, you will always get a superb experience there, 4K sound and no seats blocking the movie. If you choose Regal Westgate, you don't have the same expectation; every auditorium is slightly different, different films have different aspect ratios, but I just don't buy it. If I hadn't paid less than a dollar today, I would have been a lot more frustrated. But today I learned that I can't depend on Regal for uniform excellent experience. If you love film as I do, and you can afford it, I'd say choose Alamo for the indies, and Auditorium 9 and 10 here for a big picture. But remodeling the theater and the seats apparently doesn't mean the screens are uniform, which is not something I've experienced anywhere else in Austin cinema. I can't believe I just wrote all this out, that the manager told me tough luck, I picked the wrong row to see my film (note my sarcasm, the manager was polite and respectful, but the information frustrating). Just choose wisely. If you have Regal Unlimited, 2 visits pays for the sub, and that really is great. Unfortunately, the screen experience here is variable. read more

This has become one of my favorite spots to watch movies in Austin. After visiting this location, I'm hooked. Clean and retro-like theatre, reclining seats. This theatre shows older series such as Avatar, Harry Potter and has all the latest films released to date. Recommended Seating: The concierge recommends seating row 'E' and I could not agree more. Perfect view of screen, surround sound, etc. I have a blast each time I visit. I hope more Dragonball films come back to this location soon! read more

We came to the movie this afternoon for the same reason as most people. It was to either see Barbie or Oppenheimer. I was there though to see Barbie. My cousin had pre-bought our tickets online because she is a part of the Regal Crown Club, so she only had to pay for my daughter's ticket. I was excited for the movie, and they had a photo opt where you could stand in the Barbie box and not gonna lie I took plenty of pictures. I was told that the line to take photos the night before was almost out the door. Luckily we were there at one in the afternoon and there was no line. There were also plenty of other photo opportunities for other movies. In the theater they had the lounge seats, my daughter's seat wasn't working but she informed them and someone came to fix it. When he wasn't able to the manager came out and fixed the chair. All and all it was a good day to see Barbie. read more

This is by far my FAVORITE regal in all of Austin, solely because of the reclining chairs that NONE of the other Regals in town have. When there is a LONG 2+ hr movie that I am dying to watch (cue Avengers, Black Panther, etc), I always trek down to this one and purchase seats. Purchasing seats is like Alamo reservation style so you may want to download their app or check on the website to see what the seating situation is like if you prefer to buy the tickets the day of in person. Or if you have Moviepass, this is also highly suggested so you don't leave dejected that you couldnt sit with your squad. The concessions counter is typical but the different theaters are all very clean, and there is so much spacing among the rows you never feel squished to shuffle between people if you need to get up and move in and out during the movies! read more

This is the nicest Regal theater in Austin. I'm very annoyed it's so far from my house. They closed the Arbor location so I ended up here instead. Super clean and spacious. This location has the big reclining seats and wide aisles. No having to scoot by and over other people. (That's probably my favorite aspect if I'm being honest.) This is thee place if you're looking for a comfortable movie experience. Note: many of the seats were really squeaky if you leaned them too far back, but that's a mild annoyance. The staff was friendly and fast. Not the place to go if you wanna cuddle up next to your boo, but you can do that at home. Might make the trip out to this theater more often. I'll probably bring a blanket next time too. read more

The staff here could not care less about their patrons and are so obsessed with following Regal's policies and procedures in the slowest, most painful way possible. My father needed hearing assists and you would have thought we were asking for the staff to move an actual mountain. It took nearly 20 minutes and their entire staff couldn't be bothered to communicate or care. There are other options around and after this experience, I feel the extra cost is worth it to go to the Drafthouse or Moviehouse. read more

Regal Westgate used to be my favorite theater. It's very close to where I live and the popcorn was great and they offered Coke. Now, they offer Pepsi and the butter on the popcorn tastes rancid. I felt a little sick last Sunday after eating only a third of my small popcorn. I'll still go to this theater but I won't be ordering food again. So sad. read more

I have been going to this theater for years. Like 15. Tonight I am done with them. I bought a ticket for an 8:15 showing on their app. When I arrived at 8:28, running into the theater, the front doors were locked. I had to bang to be let inside. Concession shut down. This wasn't fun. I asked for a refund of my ticket. They can only refund to the card the ticket was purchased with and the card has to be with you. I have a card saved on my app I don't carry with me. You cannot get a refund through the app. So my only choice was to email regal for a refund. Are you kidding me?? I just walked out, out one ticket. The last money they will get from me. I *will* go redeem my 90k loyalty points before I defect to Alamo permanently though. read more
