Seat view, back row.
Christina G.

Date night. 9:30 showing, arrived 9:12, friendly service from entry. I was a little nervous because my man hadn't pre reserved the seats, but we were good (luckily) We were able to get great back row seats. Y'all, I love the intimate seating pods for two so much, But do not go here if you are tired because you will be out like a light. Each seat has a blanky and reclines all the way back. The only drawback, the reclining seat does not have the best head recline experience You either go all the way back or all the way up there is no head up feet out option.. If you recline, you'll be laying all the way back ready to go to sleep, speaking from experience maybe. Anywho, I was able to stay awake through the entire 3 and 1/2 hour movie. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet because it was cheaper to get the bottle than two glasses each. We ordered a large popcorn with some cheddar seasoning. I ordered the Green goddess turkey sliders and they were pretty good! My man ordered the lobster roll, But It was super small for $30. To him it was like a lobster slider. So of course I shared mine with him. Overall, We had a great date night, some good food and good wine. There were only a couple of not so perfect call outs: The upper body recliner laying you all the way back and our food came out before the popcorn. Anywho, We will definitely be back for another movie date night. Cause I need to try the things on that menu.

We love coming to the iPic. The service is always consistent and food is surprisingly tasty. It is a little pricy but I don't mind that. The only downside is the seats are only two in a cubby so it's difficult for my husband and daughter to go at the same time or one of us has to sit alone. The seats are comfortable and recline like you're sitting in your living room. Also get a small throw blanket. Regardless it's our movie theater of choice.

Ube Cocktail

We grabbed a cocktail from the bar and the bartender with the pink hair was the worst. She walked away while I was talking and just was so disdainful and rude about everything but it felt like it was my presence at the bar. Maybe some other stuff was going on for her but dang! Ordered the Ube cocktail and it doesn't taste like anything but bad rum and milk. Don't order it. As someone in the service industry, I always tip even if it's not the best service, but the fact I was forced to tip 18% to this person who obviously wanted nothing to do with me sucked. Top 5 worst bar experiences I've had in Austin.

The popcorn was fresh and tasty! Thank goodness for the blankets as their AC was somehow set to 60 degrees and even with jeans and jacket, I was cold. The service was prompt despite not getting our order accurately but it worked to our favor so no biggie. Let's keep the temperature at least 70 degrees, otherwise a pleasant time.

IPic Lounge area.

Having been to o an iPic Theater before, I was really looking forward to experiencing the iPic in Austin. I went to see Paul McCartney's film "One Hand Clapping". The film itself was alright, mostly footage of the band Wings in studio in 1974. However, this review is not about the film but, rather the iPic Theater experience. If you've never been to an iPic Theater, the experience is all about comfort and luxury. In the lobby is full bar serving an extensive array of beverages, alcohol and wine. You can also order from their menu, appetizers, snacks and main meal options. The service is top-drawer, black cloth napkin level. There's also a lounge area to meet up with friends which is very upscale / trendy. I would suggest NOT bringing the wee-little ones, especially if they tend to cry a lot. This is more of a mature venue, a place where you can bring your date to empress or, have an Adult night out. Also NOTE: The theater will ask you to shut off or, silence your cell phones. Please this to be respectful of others. Seating is intimate, most of which are paired in twos with surrounds so you don't have to bump elbows or share the cup holder with strangers. The chairs are clad in leather and recline at the touch of a button. Each seat has a blanket in case you get chilly. There is also a table with a QR code to scan for food and drink options. Hard bound menus are available on request. Then press the call button on your table and a Ninja Server will appear to take your order and serve it to you when it's ready. As mentioned, the decor of this theater is upscale and trendy. Not knowing how long this location has been around some of the seating and decor is beginning to show its wear. Discrete lighting under the bar was drooping down a bit, some of the chairs in the lounge were beginning to show wear on the leather. My date noted, the first restroom she went in was well kept and has plenty of stalls while the restroom on the other side of the lobby near theater 1 & 2 had three stalls and on did not work. The restrooms were otherwise clean. This may seem a bit nit-picky however, at this price point I would expect more. There is free garage parking adjacent to the theater. I did not see or notice if there are charging stations available. Expect to arrive a 30-45 minutes early so you have enough time to enjoy everything this theater has to offer. Hope this helps & I'll see you at the movies.

Everything was so good, especially the crispy spicy tuna rolls! My boyfriend and I are hooked. It was the perfect date!

We were told the brave ones sit in the front, so we did! I definitely suggest sitting as close as you can... just do it! Our meal was catered by Harmon's BBQ out of Cibolo which included brisket, chicken, beans, potato salad, all the fixins and iced tea. We walked through the line, then back to or table. The acoustic cowboy sang to us for about an hour for their preshow entertainment. This evening started out beautifully. The show we saw was their seasonal Halloween Spectacular which included a gang of Vampire Old West Outlaws which included my great uncle, the infamous John Wesley Hardin! One of the song and dance numbers was Michael Jackson's Thriller which started the show... it was very well done! Bravo! Ladies were called up to help play a game. Children were called up to become a part of the Vampire gang which also included story telling. The cast really gets the crowd involved in the story line.. we loved every minute of our time at the theater. I want to start by saying that as far as Austin-based movie theaters go, ALAMO IS THE BEST. (I'd…read morestill like you to read my 3-star review below though. I am concerned about everything I mention). I've checked out all of their competitors, and none of them have the variety of films that Alamo offers and their movie pass benefits are poor comparisons to what Alamo offers you. Nowhere else can you find Terror Tuesday or Weird Wednesday, or thematic movie series. These things are uniquely Alamo. These things, while I'm sure they must be nationwide, are very much Austin. Also, management with the Austin chain is very responsive when customers reach out with questions/concerns/complaints. This is unique customer service nowadays.

I just got to "enjoy" the new QR scan ordering system for the first time. And I won't be back…read more Here's why: Let's start with the irony of Alamo telling customers to keep phones dark and silent, then telling them to order food and report issues with their phones - then texting order updates to guest's phones. It was incredibly distracting with surrounding guests struggling to use this broken system through the movie. No longer can you interact with a human to order food. Food orders are driven by an online menu, which is not intuitive or easy to navigate, and does not allow sufficient customization. A guest next to me asked for a paper menu because she couldn't use the online menu. Her request was denied. Food delivery, by about half dozen people at my count, was problematic at best. We were delivered popcorn we didn't order. And when our actual food did begin to arrive, it was delivered to the wrong person consistently and came out in nonsense order. My first item delivered was a side of ketchup. Drinks didn't arrive for another 15 minutes. Food for my guests arrived well before mine. And my (hot) food was cold. Ten minutes into the actual movie, they realized they had never verified our tickets. And wanted to do that during tv movie - requiring opening the app. The new food trays swivel, which is nice. But when they filled up, nobody took away the empty containers. So we had to put food dishes in our lap or stack them precariously while trying to eat. This "new and improved" experience was not well thought out or well executed. And for the convenience of trying this failed experiment, Alamo kindly adds a mandatory 16% service fee and then "auto adds" another 5% unless you edit the bill - a fact that you're notified of (ironically) by text.

Although my phone has trouble picking up the dimly lit code, it's simple enough to ask a nearby patron to shine their phone light for me. Easy peasy! The exposition doesn't matter to most of us anyway. There is, however, a new problem unique to the Mueller location! The cell service is abysmal in Mueller, and Alamo Drafthouse's elegant solution is to graciously funnel guests onto their unencrypted public wifi network. To me, this shows a indominable commitment to helping the tech-savvy less fortunate. It's now easier than ever for some of the more determined patrons to access the financial information of anyone ordering this way (so everyone!). As someone who loves to donate but hates receiving praise for it, I really appreciate a system that may allow people more deserving than me to benefit from my bank card details anonymously. Another thing, I LOVE the new layer of audience participation Alamo has introduced by inviting patrons to police one another with their cell phones during the movie. It's nice when everyone gets to be both the problem and the solution. Finally, nothing completes the premium experience like getting a text from Alamo in the third act reminding me to close my tab. I've always felt the emotional climax of a film could use a small, administrative, interruption. 10 billion stars if I could. Ps. I got a great idea I'm willing to share... We should fully replace the pre-show anti-talking & texting warning with a live customer satisfaction survey everyone has to complete on their phones before the movie even starts. Feedback is invaluable.

You can order food and drinks via a QR code at your seat, which is a nice perk. I chose our seats and in retrospect, I should have selected seats in a higher row. The auditorium did not have a steep incline as I anticipated, however, the seats were fine. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the communal bathrooms, which is the design at the Alamo Drafthouse. The good news is that you have a urinal or restroom option with associated signage. Like all movie theatres, the food and drinks are overpriced. In addition, you have pay a 18% service charge along with a tip. I ordered bottomless popcorn and unsweet tea and paid over $20. Interestingly, the popcorn came in a metal bowl...perhaps a sustainability measure. The popcorn was fresh and buttery. Now for the best part...we went to see the Devil Wear Prada 2. Amazing movie with many salient themes... as a side note, I know every single line of the original Devil Wears Prada. Definitely will be watching this movie again...

This was a very kind gesture that went above and beyond and was greatly appreciated or we would have been turned away from the screening by the PR company coordinating it. They have a variety of quality food items to choose from on their menu. I love the popcorn, with all the flavor combinations with my favorite being Parmesan and herb. The price point for food has gotten a bit high but you do get unlimited free refills on soft drinks and popcorn. They used to charge for extra Parmesan herb seasoning on refills, but in my last visit that was no longer the case. I also love the fried pickles and dry fried cauliflower with the vegan ranch dip. They have some really good food options for a theater. So my last screening experience to Mother Mary, we were seated late and this resulted in me not being able to order my food though the new QR code/phone ordering process. It was too dark for my phone to scan the QR code so someone took my order verbally. Then come to find out that they no longer had the Frito pie which is what I was trying to order. So they brought me a paper menu and card to write out my order which I did. Well, no one came back to pick up the card even though the light was on until the very end of the movie. Also when they brought the cauliflower, they forgot the vegan ranch dip so I had to get up and track someone down to get it which interrupted the movie viewing experience. Then I was charged and automatic service change and gratuity on top of that even though I was not satisfied with my service or food ordering experience. This was very frustrating to say the least. So now I am experiencing some issues that I have not previously had before which caused some stress and anxiety and diminished my experience. As with any new process, I hope this is only temporary because for this price point I expected more.
