Each year, my husband and I participate in Lent by giving up something meaningful, such as meat and desserts. Lent is a 40-day period of spiritual preparation for Easter, beginning on Ash Wednesday (symbolizing the need for repentance) and ending before Easter. Its main goals are reflection, repentance, and renewal. After observing Lent, our treat was brunch at Ciclo (Four Seasons Hotel). Ciclo hosted Easter Brunch and an Easter Egg hunt including the hotel's lake-level ballroom. The celebration included live music and lawn activities for hotel and brunch guests. The brunch included a cold buffet, hot buffet, carving station, benedict station, and dessert buffet. You also could order customized omelets from your table. Ciclo's brunch features gluten-free and vegetarian choices. OMG...the Four Season's Hotel and Ciclo restaurant looked as though a lush bright flowered garden had been quietly grown there. Flowers spilled over every surface from the hotel's entrance to the Ciclo restaurant out onto the patio. The floral arrangements were stunning. They also served as a beautiful backdrop for photos. In addition, we ran into ole friends at brunch, which was a pleasant surprise. The standout for us was the lamb chops (one of my favorites) and callosal-sized shrimp. The sweet potatoes and ham were memorable as well with perfectly spiced sweet potatoes. All desserts were good today, however, the Oreo cheesecake and sugar cookies were the highlights. Our server was so attentive and pleasant. Also, Abribal, the restaurant manager, came over to inquire about dining experience. Such excellent service... Dining a Ciclo today was superb! Had an amazing experience at Ciclo. We were in town with friends attending an event. For some it was a return visit and they could not speak highly enough. Outstanding service provided by the staff. Denis was our tables primary attendant. He is super. He provides impeccable customer service which makes your experience even better. The garden backdrop to the restaurants decor is a perfect pairing. Our meals were excellent. We shared the Tomahawk in addition to our individual dishes. My salmon entree was really good. For our splurge dinner in Austin, we booked Ciclo, a Latin American seafood-steakhouse place located in the bottom level of the Four Seasons. My wife loves seafood, and the other reason we chose Ciclo was for the grilled octopus, which our son ate the night before at Ezov. Ciclo also sports a pretty big kid's menu as well. They also serve breakfast and brunch. The restaurant is gorgeous and has an even pretty outdoor patio with stringed lights and well-maintained gardens. The food and service were both exceptional, and I'm not saying that since one of the friendly waiters looks like he could bench 500-lbs. You have to watch out for appetizers and sides since they can fill you up quickly: * Rosemary Popovers with Eggplant Dip are worth getting - crispy, fluffy, and savory. * Sweet corn empanadas have a nice savory cheesy filling with that sweet corn but its definitely very filling with that thick, crispy crust. * Potato three ways are a creative mix of whipped potatoes and chips, and maybe a third variation I missed. Again, a bit heavy so be sure to share. * Grilled asparagus is definitely worth getting - plump and healthy. * Yes Spanish Grilled Octopus was even better than the one from Ezov, but our son refused to try it. Toddlers and their picky appetite - SMH. For the entrees * Kid's Chicken Quesadilla (extra cheese) and fried were superb, and was a dish even adults can enjoy. Everything served piping hot and so crispy. * Sakura Pork chop was a bone-on cut was cooked perfectly. * The absolute best dish was the Mariscos Macho - a seafood lover's dream with large pieces of seabass, yucca, whole tomatoes, and even more of that awesome octopus. It had a small amount of broth so its literally a dish to be enjoyed using fork, and not some soupy cioppino or fishermen stew with tiny morsels of seafood. * Definitely save room for dessert - highly recommend the passionfruit tart for some noce balance of sweet and tart. read more

WOW. The service and food were incredible. I actually got lost trying to find the place at first, but it's tucked one floor down from the lobby at the Four Seasonsworth.. The hamachi tiradito was on the smaller side (as expected), but it was packed with that classic Nikkei flavor. The Cusco chicken, though... insane. Huge portion, ridiculously flavorful, and I could honestly drink the sauce. My server, Jon, was unbelievably kind and attentive. I don't think I've ever had someone go above and beyond like that. We felt forgotten at a point and that made us pay closer attention rather than just be in the moment. It seemed like the smoke of an old fashioned. The temp and cut were great though. Just too smokey. The Mushrooms were great. With the lobster Mac and cheese, noodles were perfect but the cheese was too loose for my liking. The lobster part was sweet and not dried. You get a nice view of the walking trail and water and a view of any of the installations the hotel has up. The staff is very friendly and prompt. We didn't wait long for our food at all. I think this is a good option if you're looking for a "lowkey" brunch spot. What I Got: - Chicken and Waffles: This was yummy! The chicken doesn't have the taste of traditional fried chicken but it was very good. The waffle is cut in half, so you get half a waffle and two chicken breasts. It was filling and I didn't finish feeling stuffed. - Hippie Salad: This was really good! I got my salmon made well-done and it was cooked to perfection. The salad was light and still hearty at the same time with the added protein from the fish and chickpeas. I believe there is some type of vinegarette on top, not sure. The sides were excellent, although the mashed potatoes were overworked and sloppy as in soupy. However, the fingerling potatoes and brussels sprouts meet us forget about the mashed potatoes. Fabulous. Went alone for a dining experience in Austin on a weekend getaway. Ciclo showed up on my search for steak and $$ pricing was promised on OpenTable (I did make a reservation). Didn't realize it was in the Four Seasons; you have to travel a short distance through the hotel down a staircase to get there. Attire was fine dining, but I wasn't treated any differently wearing nice jeans, leather boots, and fleece. Service (Nick) was attentive, kind, welcomed me in. The food was phenomenal. The house rolls are legendary, a skillet of four with a side of butter and honey. Recommended you eat 1-2 before dinner and save some for desert. Hickory smoked ribeye (medium rare) was perfect, subtle on the hickory not overpowering at all, came with a sweet garlic round to squeeze on top (optional), a side of BBQ sauce and sprinkling salt. Whipped potatoes complement very well, crispy brussels were also delicious. Paired with a red cab sauv blend. Final kindness was a dessert, chocolate-covered ice cream bon bons, ice cream sourced from a local shop down the street. Dark chocolate center. Paired excellently with the red wine. Forces you to slow down, as the ice cream comes very cold in a glass over smoking dry ice. WILL be returning! read more

Only downside for the brunch they only offer the buffet and the menu isn't available during brunch. You get just about everything on the buffet from your traditional breakfast items, prime rib, steak, lamb, potatoes, pasta, and non traditional items as well. There is also an eggs Benedict station too. Service is top notch, great food, and a beautiful patio that overlooks the lake for a great vibe. Prices are a little expensive but that is to be expected dining at the four seasons. Also they have a wide variety of dessert options and they were all great. For weeks they had been advertising their roses and rose event, on Thursday and Friday from 5-8, for the month of May. We arrived on a Friday around 5:40 and inquired about going to the lawn and were VERY rudely told that it wasn't happening because there is "clearly a wedding" outside. Ciclo is actually a restaurant in the Four Seasons which I did not know until I got there. Needless to say, it was very niceee and the impeccable service started from the moment my Uber driver arrived at the hotel. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. Very romantic and dark but the outside had the real view. You can see the gorgeous water. Our waitress was very professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We ended up getting a couple appetizers and they were so kind to give us an extra one on the house. We got the signature house bread(10/10), sweet corn empanadas(9/10) and the pork belly Mac n cheese(10/10). The highlight for me though was the lamb! I got medium and it came perfect. A House Signature Experience, the 45oz steak was wheeled out to our table side on a huge slab of Himalayan pink salt for a unique one of a kind presentation. We watched the chef prepare our steak with garlic & herbs, pour tequila over the top, and light it on fire. He removed the bone, sliced the steak and served it sizzling on the salt slab. Phenomenal! He was super nice and explained the menu well while providing some recommendations we took for the apps. I got the short ribs which just fell apart. Others in the group got the filet, ribeye, and salmon, all to rave reviews. It was a little pricey but you're in a Four Seasons so that's to be expected. Ciclo is so close to five stars tonight! Story time in bullet points for you efficiency seekers (but I still love words). Notes on very impressive food: -Happy Hour small bites are very small and very good! Guacamole--Plain and simple with a sprinkle of cojita, which is a nice touch. Comes with a little tasty brisket on the side. Empanadas--Really good. Only two on the tiny plate, but so good I would have ordered more. Crispy Cauliflower--I don't know what the sauce is, but everyone at the table really liked it. We did order more. Prime Beef Sliders--Not sure what the chef's special sauce is, but I did not like this one. The baby burgers were still good. Truffle Fries--Wish we had tried them! -Main courses were amazing! Seared Sea Scallops--Perfectly prepared tender scallops with great flavor. Risotto was pretty good. 8 oz. Angus Filet Mignon--Seasoned really well and cooked to a juicy medium rare. One of the best filets I've had. 14 oz. Signature Prime Ribeye--Hickory smoked to perfection. Lomo Saltado--Tender pieces of steak in this interesting dish. Chocolate Pudding Cake--So good we had to order two! The house made salted caramel ice cream would have been a fantastic dessert on its own, but combining it with the molten chocolate cake, whipped cream, and cookie was perfection. Made reservations just in case Happy Hour was too packed to get into the bar/patio area. When asked on the phone, mentioned celebrating a birthday. -Arrived to see plenty of open tables in the bar and on the patio, so mentioned the reservation and asked about being seated for Happy Hour. Hostess didn't seem thrilled, but found and deleted our reservation to seat us on the patio for HH. Asked if we wanted to eat dinner as well and we told her we did. It then took about 5 minutes to get seated and were only given dinner, not HH, menus. She also didn't check the notes on the reservation, so completely missed our birthday celebration. -Server took another few minutes to come over and apologized about the wait for the table. She didn't have enough water for the 4 glasses and forgot to bring more to fill the last glass until we reminded her. -She was flustered, and told us it was due to being seated too many times. She tried to make up for the inattention at times by having another server check on us, so that was a positive step. She forgot my wife's glass of wine for a good 30 minutes, but came right out with it after a reminder. -Service improved greatly after 7pm when Happy Hour ended. Live music was nice, but loud because our table was in such close proximity. The patio is beautiful, but not a lakeside table to be seen. The hotel is swanky, but you can go to Ciclo in dressy casual and be just fine. The Happy Hour small bites were a good deal, but the dinner menu is really the draw here. I decided to go with the eggs Benedict. It was mediocre at best, there is definitely way better breakfast options throughout the city. Next time I'll sacrifice convenience to make sure we have a solid breakfast. The one thing that drove me nuts was the fact the waiter dropped the check 2 minutes into us eating our meal. That's ridiculous in my book, seemed we were being rushed out. I'll most likely never come back just because of that. I made a reservation for a party of 9 at Ciclo weeks in advance on the phone with a Ciclo staff person. But, when I called to confirm the reservation days before, there was no record of it. I waited all day for the manager to call me and finally just called back myself to make a reservation for a different day since the restaurant said it wasn't possible to make it for the same one. The manager stated he would find out what happened and call me back and again I got no call back. One person in my party was not able to attend the new date which was disappointing. But we all went and the experience was overall underwhelming. The waiter was abrupt and would kind of throw the plates on the table and acted resistant when asked for things. We received free bon-bons at the end of the meal which did not make up for the experience. I've been given free bon-bons there other nights when there wasn't a problem. For such an expensive place, I would have expected a much better experience. I'll never try to bring a large party here again, particularly as a special holiday event, but I would show up with one other person on an average day. read more
