We ordered a variety of items, and the standout favorites were definitely the brussel sprouts and the fried chicken served with the chicken and grits - both were absolutely delicious. The chicken caesar wrap was good, but the dressing being served on the side took away a bit from the full caesar wrap experience since it was difficult to evenly add the dressing while eating. Firstly, the food is amazing. You won't be disappointed. Servers are friendly, so that's good. What was disappointing/needs work: 1. I couldn't get the "Join Waitlist" on Toasttab to work for the downtown location. It worked for other locations but not the one we wanted. So we waited about 15 minutes (not a huge deal) but why offer and even advertise it at the restaurant if it doesn't work? 2. When walking in to get on the waitlist, I was waiting behind someone who was being helped. Another person walked in behind me to also get on the list, and a second employee helped them first and skipped me. Again, not a big deal, but just not a great way to start, especially when I'd been annoyed with item 1 to even get on the list at all. Please attend the line and not the person pushing their way in. 3. The shrimp on my shrimp and grits were amazing and plentiful but I had almost no grits in that skillet. Maybe there should be a different serving vessel and they would be more present. Tasty but I had two bites with any significant amount of grit to shrimp ratio! Would I come back? Yes! None of the things above are deal breakers but just annoying for a first time patron. If it continues to happen, I'd reconsider my answer. Great brunch spot! Love the chile relleno! So unique and tasty especially with the chorizo added! The migas with chorizo are also delicious. The service was very warm and friendly but not as attentive. The yogurt parfait was delicious. I ordered it without the lemon curd and it was still fantastic. The portion was very generous so I couldn't even finish it. The tater tots were perfectly crispy and soooo good dipped in ranch. A few sides were a bit disappointing. The mushrooms and spinach were a bit too salty, and the side of scrambled eggs looked very dry - my friend didn't even eat them, and the bacon was so thick it tasted like ham. Had a great breakfast date here! We shared the brisket burrito and two pancakes, which was a good portion early in the morning that didn't leave us feeling heavy. Not many restaurants open at 7am, so this was the perfect spot. The smoked brisket burrito was absolutely delicious. I tried a little bit of the salsa, and I preferred the burrito without it. The place some great breakfast options as well lunch sandwiches. I went for the green Churizo shrimp and grits which were creamy and cheesy. The shrimp was grilled which added so much flavor. This was my first time trying the green Churizo and I simply loved it. We also tried the Fried french toast which was really good. It was fluffy with a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, whipped butter on top took it to another level. The ambiance is good, they have patio seating as well. Absolutely one of my favorite brunch places to go to in Austin! There is one dish here that I come for, and it's the crab cake Benedict. The dish is very well executed and has the perfect amount of richness to it. The crab has always tasted fresh, and there is definitely a good amount in each crab cake. This dish comes with one side and I like to get their hashbrown casserole. Service is typically good, and it's definitely a great restaurant to visit with family and friends. The café has a cool, inviting vibe, and the food presentation was truly fantastic--everything looked Instagram-worthy. Our waiter was quick and responsive. Both of our dishes had noticeably cold spots in the middle, giving the impression that the food may have been pre-prepared, refrigerated, and then unevenly reheated--possibly in a microwave--before being topped with fresh ingredients to mask it. I've only been to Phoebe's twice and both times was at this downtown location. It's easy to see why it's a top spot with fellow Yelpers and others alike. Their version of a Scotch Egg is pretty yum. I love the light and crispy batter fry with subtle seasoning to complement the tomato. The fry method doesn't take away from the tomato at all. Blends together nicely. We've also had the biscuits and gravy, bananas foster French toast, baked eggs, and chile relleno. Definitely recommend! Their twists on southern comfort food take the diner experience to another level. This ain't your run of the mill greasy spoon. They have a couple of locations but this is the only one I've been to. This place was nearby, so I walked here for breakfast. It wasn't busy, so our waitress was on top of getting our order and refilling our coffee. It's a cute little space with plenty of seating and booths available. I tried the Badass eggs and bacon. The bacon was a thick slab bacon and was probably my favorite part of the meal.
