It does just fine. I really liked the hummus and pita. The steak frites fell flat afterwards. The drinks are strong and I appreciated that!

Cute spot for meeting up with couple of friends to large group of 30 people! Friendly staff, big parking lot and cafe with lots of outdoor sitting!

I've been here a few times already and it is consistently a good spot in the neighborhood with a lot of parking. Off the times I've been here I can always get a seat since the restaurant is quite huge. Happy hour deals are great. The Monday half off burger is even better. Cocktails are good, staff is very fast and friendly. The food came out so fast that i don't not even been able to build my lox sandwich for a bite. I do really recommend the lox appetizer. Which is really actually a meal. You get a lot out of it.

This was my first time at Hanks! I've heard great things about this spot from my friends. I love that there was plenty of parking in front and there's additional parking in the back. We had a reservation at 11:30am and were seated promptly. I wasn't expecting the space to be so big! There was great patio seating as well and it was all covered! The Lemon Ricotta pancakes were delicious! The blueberry compote on top was great. The pancakes don't need to be drenched though. Looks unappetizing (it would be nice if this came on the side though!) I love the pairing on Lemon and blueberry especially in the summer! The pancakes were soft, creamy a little sour and sweet! Nicely balanced. The serving size is huge that comes with 3 large pancakes that can be shared. For drinks I ordered a chai latte which was just water and cinnamon :( I think they forgot the mix and I had to send it back. I got a to go matcha instead. I also tried The Whale & The Butterfly which had Gin and Butterfly Pea-flower in it. Very tangy! It was a pretty drink but too sour tasting for me. The Chantilly cake was fine. Not my favorite because of the excess frosting but my friend loved it. Service was pretty slow, so I'm taking 1 star off for that. I've also heard that the dinner menu is subpar so I'd stick with the brunch menu.

Great happy hour - daily from 3-6:30 I think! $9 frozen drinks and 1/2 off appetizers We love the fried zucchini- delicious!! They also do bogo burger specials on Monday - we love to do this! It's a great deal My husband always gets the burger - his favorite I have tried the grilled cheese before and the tomato soup - AMAZING! Frozen Paloma is my favorite - they also do frose! Service is always great and friendly Patio is dog friendly and super nice and spacious - indoor is very cute!! We have also gotten the doughnuts and they are so freaking good This time I got the kale Cesar salad with grilled chicken - def not bad but probably won't order again

Stopped by here for a snack and a drink with a friend. The service was friendly and very quick, and there was plenty of seating, both in a cafe area and a restaurant area. We got fries, sweet potato fries, and brussel sprouts. They accidently gave us fries when we ordered sweet potato fries, so they let us keep both. Each were fairly good, and a decent portion, too. I also got a drink, I believe it was an ube mojito. I remember liking it but think I'd be tempted by some of the others too. Overall recommended as a nice, relatively quiet place to hang out or get some food. Can't speak to the entrees as I didnt get any, though heard they were good, too.

Great location, lots of free parking, and lots of seating inside and outside. There is a restaurant portion and a cafe portion. The cafe is great for WFH and has plenty of outlets. I didn't see many outlets in the restaurant portion, so I wouldn't recommend sitting there if you want to WFH. There is some cute bar seating, too. Service is good but can be a little slow at times. This is a great place to eat if you're not in a huge rush. The menu is not super ample, but it has some classics. Starters to share, soups and salads, sandwiches and burgers, and pizzas. A cute little spot to check out if you're in the area!

Hanks is a super cute spot, with lots of open seating and a nice aesthetic. If you go to the cafe side, I imagine it's a really nice spot to get some work done, and I've heard good things about their drinks. They also have a drive through, so you can also get it to go! (But it closes at 8.) I think Hanks might be better known for their brunch, after seeing so many pictures of their breakfast items. But we came for dinner at 6:30pm on a Thursday, and had no wait in getting a table. Overall, the food was pretty decent, but also not necessarily anything special. Some standouts for me were that the pizza tasted better than it looked, and I liked the huge chunks of goat cheese in the salad. But I wish the Brussels sprouts were crispier. I do want to come back, but probably only to try the cafe or brunch.

We've been coming to Hank's for a few years now--it's easily one of our favorite happy hour spots in town. The ambiance is always spot-on, with stylish design and a laid-back vibe. We especially love grabbing a seat at the bar. On our most recent visit, Miriam took care of us and was fantastic--super attentive, easy to talk to, and made the whole experience even better. We enjoyed the white wine on tap, the frozen Paloma, and the Aperol spritz--all refreshing and well-made. The burger hit the spot, but if you're looking for standouts, we highly recommend the pesto rice bowl with grilled chicken and the spicy shrimp. Both are packed with flavor and perfect happy hour bites. If you're looking for a chill, unpretentious happy hour with great service, food, and drinks--Hank's is the place.

The most appropriate term to describe the food at Hank's is "mid." The vibes are nice though. They have both a restaurant and cafe. The cafe was closed for a private event, so we sat outside on the patio and were able to order from the window. The weather was beautiful for studying outside, but as the afternoon came it started to get very sunny, and there is minimal shade covering. I got the fried chicken sandwich, while my friend got Hank's breakfast. I read that their fried chicken sandwich ($16.24) is "famous." The chicken and the bun were both so mid. The bun especially was dry and flaky. The fries were okay. The breakfast potatoes were not very good either, and the sourdough toast was so hard. It was so cold inside the restaurant even when I just went for a few minutes to use the restroom. They had the AC absolutely blasting when it was a pleasant day outside. The restroom was clean.

I have been here a few times and usually stick with a simple black coffee, which is okay. I have also tried their latte, cold brew, and cold coffee with milk. The biscuits are fresh and tasty, definitely worth trying, and the tacos are a nice breakfast option too. The only downside for me is the cold brew because the syrup leaves a lingering aftertaste, and even when I asked for a more balanced drink, it turned out the same. The cafe itself is cute and cozy, a great spot to work, read, or catch up with friends. It is a little loud cafe so be careful if you have meetings. A little more attention to cleanliness on the seating cushions would make it even better.

Update. My bf and I went here for brunch a few weeks ago. We got a side of bacon and it came out like it was cooked 3 days ago- hard and brittle like a saltine cracker. We asked for a replacement- and got the same thing.....We still joke about this bacon travesty.

An awesome first trip to Hanks! We stopped here during the middle of a long bike ride out and around Austin. There was ample bike parking, and ample seating both inside and out on this January Saturday early afternoon. We were seated promptly, and our orders were taken shortly thereafter. Our server gave us some recommendations, and was visibly upset when we didn't order one of them haha. Regardless, all three dishes we got (Quiche, Benedict, Smoked Salmon Toast) were VERY good. The salmon toast came with a ton of arugula... almost overwhelming, but it was still surprisingly balanced. The quiche was the dark horse; so flavorful and texturally pleasing. The Benedict was solid, if a touch rich for my taste. The place felt warm, welcoming, and of the highest vibration. The outdoor space was weather controlled, but also felt bright and airy. I'd love to come back and try our server's recs haha!

Can you give me vegan meal options? I know I can have the frosé or an oat chai latte, but it would be nice to be able to eat since often friends want to go here & I have to persuade them to go somewhere else. Thx.

    Dog allowed on patio?

Yup! There are dogs there all the time.

Is the wifi in the cafe password protected?

    No it's not.

Is the veggie burger vegan, or can it be made vegan?

Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.
