I grew up in California eating at Hillstone and Houston's when I found out this location was owned by them previously I was skeptical.. turned out being absolutely the same and fantastic (even with it being take out) 10/10

Best steak house on Burnet road by far! Service is always upscale and food is so delicious. Highly recommend for any occasion! Make sure to dress nice and would definitely recommend making a reservation before hand. Place can get a little loud but I've found 1:30pm is the perfect time to go if you plan on being chatty.

Barlett's continues to earn its spot on the "ATX's iconic" list for consistently providing first-class service and fare ... service is always impeccable, attentive but not overbearing. Water glasses stay full, advice about the menu on point, pace of the meal appropriate. A separate staff hustles food out of the kitchen, so it comes out piping hot (or cold as needed). Steaks and seafood ruled the table this visit, all cooked to perfection, astutely seasoned. Nice wine accompanied dinner, and dessert, key lime pie, was the perfect ending to a delightful meal. Highly recommend you stop by Bartlett's!

We live less than a mile from Barletts and have never been...and so glad we finally did! It's such a nice, fancy interior that you would never guess from the outside. Service is extremely prompt, helpful, and attentive. We had a reservation on a Saturday night and this would definitely be needed-it was packed! I felt a bit self conscious visiting vegan, but the waiter was very accommodating and assured me the veggie burger without cheese and bun replaced was vegan, along with the side of quinoa. It was a huge portion and really good! My husband got the regular burger and shoestring fries and enjoyed it as well. I ordered a mocktail (only one on menu) but didn't see the asterisk/notation that it is made with sweet and sour with raw egg maybe they add a second mocktail without raw egg for pregnant women?? We had a very nice time and I would absolutely recommend!

The service here is always top notch. I had an appointment up north so treated myself to Bartlett's. I sat at the bar. It was mid-afternoon (in between lunch and dinner). I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't the only person there by themselves. I didn't catch the bartender's name but she was great. As I stated above, the service here is one of the things that sets this place apart from the rest. Fun Fact: you can order one artichoke!!!! You're welcome!

I love Bartletts. I've been coming here for FOREVER! It's always consistent and best prime rib in town and bang for your buck! We always get the prime rib and a French drip sandwich. It's the best. Great wine menu and cocktails. Today my daughter had the filet and always a Cesar salad with avocado. Just yummy! I always leave satisfied and wanting to come back for more.

It had been awhile since I had been here and so glad to put it back on my rotation. This place is an Austin institution for solid American fare with great friendly service. The dining area is filled with mostly booths (some tables) and is dim with over table lightning - a throwback to an era where dining was cozy and warm. Food here is solid - with my go to being the prime rib (served au jus) with garlic whipped potatoes (which I forgo in favor of a loaded baked potato). The salads are a great starter. Speaking of which - an off the menu crab cake also makes a fantastic starter or double it up for an entree portion with a side. Cheaper than a steakhouse and just a great solid meal.

Fine dining and wine; excuse the typo that's whining. Known about Houstons slash rebranded Bartlett's for years but never had the pleasure of dining here. Literally, old club events happened less than half a mile south at the old Frisco and sadly Waterloo. In an attempt to find an upscale restaurant for our needs I made a reservation on a recent Saturday. Called the day before as we were trending a bit less. Thought I had it covered and nine car peeps showed up. You read that, 9 hungry diners eager to have a social. It doesn't seem like a big number but it was a breaking point for our reservation. Hey old Bart; I could have brought 30 and not known. So, this restaurant is NOT large party or group friendly. I get it; boils down to limited space. Observations: Patio would have been accommodating except there are not enough chairs for the long concrete table. You literally made a major player in the Austin real estate market stand so his GF could have a seat. Chivalry isn't dead in Austin. Food: I spent more than $50 on a 12 ounce Prime Rib when I would have gotten triple the meat at the Salt Lick in Driftwood for $5 more. Food across the experience was fine but when you factor we spent half the dining experience eyeing chairs to steal. Thankfully, the party at the other end of the long table presented us with chairs as they left. A generous act from other diners and not the restaurant. Front of house after initial interactions did j*ack sh*t. Eric couldn't find a solution for our diemma so we made our own path.

We had a delicious meal at Bartlett's. I forgot to get our waiter's name not he was excellent. He had short hair with cool chunky glasses. We started off with the Grilled Artichokes and Dip. They were excellent. We split that Thai Mango Salad. It had the right amount of tanginess and spiciness. I had the Famous French Drip and my cousin had that Kansas Strip. Both were excellent. The only thing I was not a fan of was the Cauliflower Quinoa mix. I would pass on that next time. The food and service was excellent. The atmosphere was upscale but more casual than a fancy steak house. We will definitely come back again.

It has been a minute since I have dined at Bartlett's...just a handful of times over the last few years. Many moons ago Houston's was in the location where Bartlett's currently resides. The restaurants are affectively the same...same décor, same amazing food and same phenomenal service. Bartlett's Restaurant is consistent in food quality and impeccable service. The restaurant gives off speak easy vibes with lots of wood throughout the restaurant. It somewhat dimly lit but not too dark that she cannot see your table partner. The kitchen is glass enclosed where you openly watch the chefs deftly grill steaks and other food items. There is a large rectangular bar in the restaurant. Surprisingly, at lunch the bar was filled. I had lunch at Bartlett's with a friend. We both ordered salmon with wilted spinach and red and yellow beets. We had the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer (one of their signature dishes), which was warm, delicious and accompanied with tortilla chips. The salmon was grilled with crispy edges and flavored to tantalize your palate. Our server, Scott, was extremely attentive. He took our order pretty quickly and our food and drinks were served shortly thereafter. His pleasant demeanor enhanced the dining experience. Big shout out to Scott... The overall experience was great! Bartlett's is a on the pricey side, for lunch. However, it was worth every penny. Look forward to returning to Barlett's soon...

Always consistent in both quality and service. If you're craving prime rib or a French dip, this should be your only stop in Austin. The meat is always tender, flavorful, and served just right. Especially when paired with their rich au jus and creamy horseradish. A go-to spot for comfort and classic steakhouse flavor. Dining room booth option for the win.

Since I moved to Austin, we missed our go to spot back home which had an amazing prime rib dish. I wanted to try Bartlett's cause I heard they had a good ribeye and prime rib. To start off we ordered the spinach dip and a side Cesar salad. The main course we ordered the prime rib 12 oz with mash potatoes & bbq pork ribs. Everything came out in good timing. The waiter was super nice and made super she gave us a creamy horseradish and chimichurri sauce. I like the creamy horseradish sauce better than the normal one. We ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out perfect!!! I couldn't be more happier with it. The pork ribs also came out great and it was cook to perfection. The meat was soft and falling out of the bone. We were so full and not able to try the dessert but we will be back!

I love their signage. So artistic!

My absolute fav restaurant. My Birthday Restaurant. My date with myself restaurant. My watch sports restaurant. I literally don't eat all day before coming here for dinner. Best Salads and I love the chef salad with buttermilk garlic dressing! note: does have egg, bacon, cheese, and croutons. This is not the time for healthy with this salad. Spinach artichoke dip with that roasted salsa is all the yumminess and more. So creamy & spinach full. Left overs of this are delish in eggs. The pear Martini is phenomenal!! Decadent but also cold and dirty. The bartenders know what's up. The female bartenders are so magically talented here. You have to just watch them as they flow with the technique & showmanship. Although I prefer to sit at the bar booths, I love the open kitchen which is visible from the dinning room tables. Top quality meat; ground daily for the burgers. The Hickory burger is my go to with the loaded baked potato. Vibe is always on point whether that be the low key candles as romantic, the fire pit on a cold evening, or game night at the bar (there is one TV that is old & color is bad which is a vibe in itself). For some odd reason I hope they never upgrade. In the winter you can dine outside by the warm cozy fire. Or after dinner, I like to sit out and watch the sunset to finish my drink. The service is outstanding & team oriented to ensure customers are satisfied and "attended" to. The personalities of those coming in is fun to observe. Including myself as I always have "watchers" given I am sports tuned in, eat extremely slow to fully enjoy each bite, hyper focused on food flavors, and a generally silent vocally person with a very loud energy who LOVES to dine alone. I have heard tables trying to figure me out. I do the same with them; it's fun! Sometimes I get invited to join them :-) To end your meal, you must have the Sundae. My only improvement feedback for Bartlett's to move the Sundae back to a regular on the menu. For some reason it was moved to every other month. I only go when the month they have the Sundae. Right now that is January, March, May, you get the every other month thing. You can't go wrong with a meal here and drinks on the patio after to extend your evening. I always spend $130 on just myself inclusive of pre-dinner & after dinner drinks, app, meal, and dessert. Basically all full courses. It is worth every single drip of beverage and bite of the meal. Enjoy!

Ask the Community - Bartlett's

Is there a happy hour?

I'd give them a call. Great staff!

Is there a happy hour menu? Nothing is listed on their website or social media.

No, Bartlett's does not and has never had a happy hour menu for food or drinks.

What hours are considered lunch at Bartlett's?

I lunch menu runs to at least 3PM.

I called to order a salad ($16.00) and spinach dip ($12.00) and was told the total was $40.00 due to take out fees (I was picking up)That is a lot, especially during a pandemic and that is before tip! Not sure why there is such a fee?

I've never ordered carry out from Barlett's. That said, $12.00 "take out fee" is outrageous, especially since you're picking up! I would order from someplace else.

Do you have a dress code?

No I mean I've seen guys with shorts Usually not tank tops and gym apparel. Most of the customers are dressed fairly nice

When is happy hour?

4 -7 weekdays $2 off wine/beer

The steak I ordered was made to order perfect, as I like it mad rare and mooing, but had heavy seasoning on it. Not sure if that is signature to Perry's, as I'd personally rather let a good cut of steak speak for itself. It took away from the natural flavor, so I'd ask for no seasoning next time.
