If you know me that you know, I love brunch and more than brunch. I love a family ran black owned business. Upon entry, I was greeted by the wonderful sounds of an alto saxophone with some smooth R&B playing. You wait in line order your food then go to the table and the food is brought out to you. The service that we received was excellent from beginning to end. The food was delicious from beginning to end. I ordered a Boudin balls, a fried shrimp and grits that came with eggs, bacon, and toast as well. The grits were so delicious. You can taste this smooth Gouda, the chicken broth that the grits are cooked and they were full of flavor. I will say I do believe that the grilled shrimp was better than the fried shrimp as the grilled shrimp had a bit of more flavor. I tried one of my friends, chicken, wings, the salt and pepper seasoning with the green onions. Oh my God, hands-down the best. I would absolutely return to this restaurant and try other items that are on the menu. Thank you guys for an exceptional experience and delicious food.

Incredibly tasty! Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday for brunch and it was a spacious space, easy parking, and friendly vibes. Live music played while we chowed down and enjoyed some mimosas. The food was great and I enjoyed my salt and pepper wings which came with a side of shrimp fried rice. a solid option and perfectly fried and seasoned. The other folks in my group got the brunch items and enjoyed their shrimp and grits as well as their chicken and waffles.

Food is always on point! The salt and pepper shrimp and fried and the shrimp and grits!!! My Favorite the shrimp and rice are packed with flavor. The shrimp is perfectly crunchy and peppered. Them Grits!!!! creamy as eva! Shrimps are plump and perfectly cooked. The customer service is top tier they answer all your questions and give samples of their frozen Margs. Such a beautiful restaurant seating yourself is simple and welcoming. I wish I knew hey had a lunch special special! I found that out today!!! See yall again soon...

The restaurant is nice, the drinks were good, service was good, it's clean and the vibes were great... the food was not. I ordered chicken and waffles and I was disappointed. The chicken was disgusting. The same batter used on the shrimp was used for the chicken and it had an Asian flair but lacked flavor. This was my first time having chicken with no seasoning (AT ALL) and a boiled chicken taste / smell. I should've sent it back immediately when I saw that dang tartar sauce. I'd go back for drinks but this item needs to be removed from the menu. I wasted my money because I ate one piece.

Finally got to check out this local spot I've been meaning to visit for a while. Austin's Very Own Saltt is in the strip center across from Walmart off Burnet Road @ Anderson, so easy to miss. Despite the less than ideal location (but with lots of parking), everything else was great. Had the fried fish and shrimp fried rice lunch special. Great deal at $9.99. Fish was perfectly fried with a nice cornmeal crust. Shrimp fried rice was magnificent. Includes a bonus piece of buttery toast and a fountain drink (served in glass not a throw-away cup, which I greatly appreciate). Super friendly service. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Bob Marley mix playing during my visit. Can't say enough about this hidden gem. One suggestion: add a local Pilsner to the beer selection - Real Ale Hans, Meanwhile, or 512 would do nicely.

Their grilled fish and grilled shrimp are gluten free. They come with veggies, a slice of toast, and a side of shrimp fried rice or French fries. I got the grilled fish, and it was very good--well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The indoor mural is cool, and the staff are very nice.

The food: I was nostalgic for catfish Friday and ordered the salt and pepper catfish with fried rice as my side. I was a little nervous of the spice level but went for it anyways and I was fine. I'll be ordering this preparation next time I'm sure. Tempura batter was amazing. If anything, I think the fried rice had the most heat. Can't wait to try a daiquiri next time when not prego. The vibe: clean, fresh, and laid back feel. Loved the mural walls to show off the many aspects of Austin. It was nice to have TVs as well that weren't too in your face so you can watch if you want but easy to ignore as well. The staff: very helpful and timely with getting food out. This not really staff related but I would recommend redoing the lunch, happy hour, and brunch menus. They aren't super clear and don't include prices. It makes for a bit of a confusing experience ordering and caused the line to build up.

I saw a tiktok about this restaurant recently and knew I had to come in when I saw they had so many salt and pepper dishes. My partner and I shared the salt and pepper catfish with steamed veggies and the salt and pepper wings with shrimp fried rice. Everything was delicious and I love that the batter is light and crispy. This was such a great meal and I can't wait to come back for brunch. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and they had great recommendations.

Excellent shrimp tacos!!! The shrimp fried rice was also good. The portions were plentiful. The spices were spot on. And the jalapeno ranch dressing was the cherry on top. I also had a mango daiquiri which was fun. If it wasn't so far, I would order take out every day! High recommend this place for lunch or brunch. The staff were also friendly and the restaurant was beautiful.

Another great experience at the SALTT. My husband and I both had grilled catfish, cilantro rice and grilled broccoli and carrots. The grilled fish was expertly cooked without oiliness that catfish is known for. The Cajun seasoning was not too spicy nor overpowering. The cilantro rice was fluffy and a delightful to the palate. SALLT has A New Orleans vibe with a diverse customer base.. We will be back again...

What an AMAZING experience. This was our first time here as I arrived with my sister and her friend from LA. The music was spot on. I mean it kept you smiling while eating. And the FOOOOOOD!! Let me not take up too much of your time. It was AMAZING! Yes yes and yes. I will definitely be returning if I'm ever back in Austin. This was some good, homemade food. The seasoning was on point. The portions were RIGHT! One thing they gonna do is FEED YOU! You not leaving here still hungry. The service was GREAT! Overall an awesome experience. Thank you to the staff, cooks, musicians, it was all a blessing. Job well done. Thank you for having us!

I love revisiting restaurants after they have been open for awhile. I like to ensure they get a fair shake to work out the kinks.. This place not only got better but the menu was enhanced. They have the same excellent service and the food is consistent. They have added lunch specials and a nice drink menu. I love that the vibe is chill and hip but the music is never too loud. Plenty of parking and easy access. Our fav lunch spot!

Cousins, lean in and understand that this is a place that you should definitely put on your calendar at least once a month and particularly on Sunday is going to be your favorite day but if you don't like then any other day other week would be great for you. I went here on a Saturday evening with some girlfriends to catch up and eat. During that time of our visit, we talked with the owners and the employees and other guest that were there as we ate our mail. As you can see, we had quite a selection of food here on the pictures However, I decided to come back on MLK day to eat with my boyfriend I was really interested in the breakfast and let me tell you the flavor was on point. The ambience was so amazing. It's very simple and clean and fresh. There was lots of places to pick from an sit on the Saturday night and the Monday morning that we went to eat. I want to circle back to the grits and the fried chicken and the fish and the rice and the drinks. I don't think I've taste everything on the menu yet but go twice a matter of 48 hours or so I did enjoy it. Lastly, I had a procedure in my loopiness of communications. I shared again how great it was to eat at at AVO SALTT! Hey loves, before I forget every Sunday they have a live DJ and I believe the first Sunday of each month they have a live DJ and a horn player come through from New Orleans if I'm not mistaken. Either way, live music or DJ some good food it's a happy place for me. My next visit is planned if I'm not on schedule to work, which is Super Bowl Sunday. They will also host, special, gatherings and celebrations of large and small to accommodate your celebrations.

The space mixes art deco with a little bit of Spanish flair, tucked beside/adjacent to Mama Betty's. It's big, but arranged in a way that still feels cozy and social. The crowd? Late 20s to early 40s. Grown and attractive. Lively but not chaotic. Vibrant without being loud. Perfect for dressing up a little, socializing and lingering a little. We Ubered there, so I didn't get a full picture of the parking, but it seems like there may be a little parking garage or validated parking area? Maybe a pay for parking? I would read other reviews. Most of the staff? Fantastic. Professional, warm, funny. Our assigned waitress, however, gave off overwhelmed and low-energy. She was short with communication and it sort of dulled our sparkle for a moment, but the drinks and vibes quickly brought it back. Had we had another waitress, this place would have been a 10 out of 10. On to the drinks: Round one: espresso martinis (made with Tito's). Slightly sweet, bold, smooth, and very sippable. No coffee bean decorations on top, but full of flavor. No cream inside...sort of reminding you of a Black Russian. Served in a ribbed coupe glass. Round two: French 75s with Hendrick's. Punchy lemon flavor, a tad sweet, lower champagne notes but still giving French 75. Garnished with a dried lime slice instead of a lemon. Served elegant in those ribbed coupe glasses (which fit the aesthetic perfectly). The cocktails are well-crafted and intentional. They aren't overly boozy, but they are balanced, smooth and polished. Bathrooms? Immaculate. Unisex. Private stall rooms with their own individual doors. Efficient and modern. No long lines. Opportunity to mingle with the opposite sex in the bathroom if that suits your fancy. Foxtail feels like a good place to start a new chapter. We had good conversations and we enjoyed staying out just a little longer than we planned. Their Happy Hour (4:30-6pm weekdays) is officially on my radar for the future. I'll be back. I want this place to be routine. 9 out of 10.

Drinks are expensive and served in what feels like miniature target brand, low-quality glasses, which makes the value proposition hard to justify the steep $14 price. The atmosphere is where it really falls apart. The space is set up like a bright, casual brunch hall rather than a cocktail bar--harsh, bright lighting, uncomfortable wooden chairs, and basic wooden square tables that don't align with the concept AT ALL. There's no food offering, yet the environment feels designed for daytime dining rather than an evening bar experience. From a design and hospitality standpoint, it's difficult to understand how this made it to opening in its current state. Even a VERY basic understanding of lighting and ambiance would suggest this setup is fundamentally mismatched--ESPECIALLY for something like a date night. If you're looking for a comfortable or intimate setting, this is NOT it. You'd honestly have a better experience sitting outside a gas station with a 6-pack of Coors Light.

Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. I ordered a mimosa that had high quality ingredients and was perfectly balanced...so smooth. We were also pleased with the drinks. An hour ago it wasn't raining, but now it's pouring. A few months ago, I heard of a newer bar and experience called Equipment Room just right off of South Congress. Music means everything to me. Nothing can express emotions and instill a feeling in 3 minutes like a song can. I live for that. Equipment Room is inherently Japanese in concept. Existing in Japan for over 50 years, listening bars combine high fidelity audio equipment with impressively crafted cocktails and alcohol combining the passion of music in a space to gather with comfortable chairs and a beautiful atmosphere. The concept has expanded westward as all cool things inevitably do, but I would never think a spot would be successful in Austin like it would be in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and so on. As I back my car into a parking spot on South Congress, I grab the umbrella out of my trunk and walk my girlfriend and me to the entrance trying to not get ourselves soaked in the process. This is not the first time we have tried to go to Equipment Room. We tried to get a walk-in table just to see out of morbid curiosity and that was a failure. I booked her and me a table for this night and I was madly looking forward to it. As we got to the small entrance, we were introduced to the hostess who brought us from the stairs into the main underground space and to our seats on the couch in a large wraparound sofa with other parties sitting near us. The music is faint from the entrance, but once you walk through the main walkway, a wave of sound hits your eardrums. You're immediately engrossed into the music like walking into a concert hall or putting a fresh pair of headphones on for the first time. As we sat down, selections from Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik were playing through the speakers. Our hostess introduced us to their "User Manual" (their menu) where it contained all the snacks and drinks you could get your grubby hands on. There's more than just drinks and food on the menu. The first page introduces the concept and gives a few house rules. The second page shows all the equipment this so-called room has, from the premium Klipsch speakers, their preamps and amplifiers as well as their turntables and mixers. It's a dream page for music nerds. I want a $15k speaker in my apartment, but those noise complaints would never end. Our waitress came by shortly to give us water and take our order. Their menu is quite expansive, but the main pages we were told to check out were their A-side drinks or the classics and their B-side drinks, which are more experimental. We had to go with experimental for starters because who knows when you'll get to try something similar again. I started with a Goca Dünya while my girlfriend ordered a Deceptacon. The Goca Dünya was a vodka based floral drink with pistachio foam and Amaro Nonino, an Italian herbal liqueur. The Deceptacon was a rum-based cacao drink with a touch of lime and mint. It took a little time for our drinks to come out, clearly, as they are quite intricate. I loved my drink, bluntly. The pistachio foam was a great balance to the herbal flavors at the bottom. My girlfriend and I continued to enjoy each other's company as the music continued. The space we were in was decorated with posters and memorabilia from legendary artists coming through Austin and some general music decor like that purple album from that Prince guy. The DJ-curator that night was on a tear playing incredible soul music holding the bar hostage with a taste of funk. Jimmy Smith came next before transitioning to a few tracks from Bobbie Gentry. The last albums he pulled out were Steely Dan's Aja (a stone cold classic) and Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life (a top 10 album of all time). Not only was he playing classics like Isn't She Lovely, but he threw down some deeper cuts like Black Man and Contusion. Incredible. We both got another drink with my girlfriend getting their A-Side Espresso Martini while I got the Brown Sugar from their B-Sides. It was a seaweed and mushroom infused whiskey with a few more bells and whistles and it was super unique. Quite a bit of their menu is Japanese-inspired in homage to the originators of listening bars. This includes Japanese beer, sake, and Japanese-inspired food and beverages on their menu. Very cool. The worst part of the night came when our hour and 45 minute reservation came to a close. I could've stayed there for another 3 hours and never grown tired, but with how popular this space has become, they gotta kick you out at some point. This is an experience you have to have. It's worth it. I'll be strolling back in soon enough because there is nothing like this in Austin and it's truly a special space. RIYL: Actively listening to music.

They play no digital music and their speakers are installed throughout the whole building. The sound is great! The menu was so cute and on theme. The furniture and decor is mid century modern. I went here for my birthday and they gave my table a round of Sake shots, which was nice! My table ordered drinks: the Brown Sugar, Goca Dünya, Suffer No Fool (non alcoholic), Vitamin C. They were all delicious and they did not skimp on the alcohol! It was well balanced! I seriously recommend the Goca Dünya--that pistachio foam was addictive! For food, we got the Cheese board to have something to pick on and we demolished it, haha. It came with marmalade and crackers. The cheeses were great, along with the dried fruits and nuts. The cheese selections seem to rotate every other season, which is cool.

Great house music from the DJ, friendly staff, and an easygoing atmosphere that's perfect for hanging out. I was having a sober night and tried a few drinks from their Dry January Specials menu. Wow, they did not disappoint. The Alrighty Aphrodite was delicious, and the So Fresh, So Clean was exactly that, super refreshing with a great pineapple flavor. My husband had the Dusty Trail (strong and perfect for bourbon lovers) and a Coquito that was creamy and smooth with a hint of cinnamon. Parking is limited, but we found street parking nearby. Overall, great drinks, great music, and a spot I'll definitely keep coming back to.

Marlow's has a really in interesting and delicious drink menu. I tried both mocktails (option to add THC) and really enjoyed them both. Most mocktails with NA liquor have honestly tasted a bit weird and a bit off. I usually have one and call it a day. However, I really enjoyed the first one that I tried the second one, which I also liked. The bartenders work amazingly fast and take multiple drink orders at a time and don't miss a beat! There's street parking and during weekdays, it's free to park after a certain hour.
