I came for a work happy hour, drinks came fast, plenty of seating options even some lawn games which were free! (I've been to places where they charge you to play ). Drinks were delicious! I especially loved the voodoo melon, tastes like a watermelon jolly rancher. Will definitely be back! I didn't get it 5 because they don't have appetizing appetizers. Also note to mom: there is no changing tables and people can smoke. I was unaware and people were vaping inside. But no one was smoking outside.

I visited this place a few weeks ago and the experience was amazing. Everything was great-the service, the drinks, and the games were fun. They have a maze, old school video games, corn hole, giant jenga, and giant connect four. I will definitely come back next time I am in Texas!

I was driving around the area and came across the side bar. I knew this place was iconic and a lot of people rave about it online and I was so excited to finally discover it. It's super cool and a great place to hang out with friends. They have lots of different area areas where you can play different types of games and it made for a big crowds. I went during the Christmas season and loved being able to see their Christmas maze. There are so many different photo opportunities here. Overall, this place is a fun vibe. People are super friendly and I would totally come back here again. During my visit, I did not order any food, but I've heard good things about it!

I finally made it to Sign Bar! Woohoo! This is definitely a place I am going to start bringing friends and family who visit from out-of-state. It is so spacious and there are so many things to see and explore. The inside bar has a garage-style vibe going on with, you guessed it, lots of signage. The exterior patio area is huge and I love the little themed cabanas as well. So, sos so many signs from businesses long gone. What a fantastic way to recycle, upcycle, and keep memories alive. I love that their is so much history in one spot and it can actually be a learning experience as well because they provide lots of information. The maze is crazy fun and of course I was like "oh this is nothing it's gonna be easy"...and I got lost in it. The drinks are pretty good too. Have I had better? Sure BUT the combo of the pretty good drinks and this yard of goodness makes it near perfection.

The Sign Bar delivers more than a night out--it offers an experience rooted in Austin's eclectic spirit. Food options come courtesy of a rotating lineup of food trucks, each bringing something fresh and crave-worthy to the table. From inventive tacos to indulgent burgers, every bite we had was flavorful, well-executed, and perfectly suited to the laid-back bar vibe. Right next door to The Sign Bar is Lao'd Bar, a brick-and-mortar restaurant serving bold and vibrant Lao-American cuisine. It's the perfect spot to grab a full meal before or after drinks--think crispy rice, grilled skewers, and shareable plates with big flavors. The vibe matches The Sign Bar's eclectic energy, making it a seamless extension of the experience. The ambiance is what truly sets this place apart. A stunning collection of salvaged neon and vintage signage from iconic Austin institutions surrounds you, creating a vibrant, nostalgic atmosphere that's both immersive and uniquely local. It's part art installation, part community tribute--and entirely Austin. Service was friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. The bartenders handled a busy crowd with ease and personality, offering great drink recommendations without missing a beat. Whether you're a longtime Austinite or just passing through, The Sign Bar is a one-of-a-kind stop that blends culture, comfort, and character with every visit!

Rating: 3.7/5 Sign Bar is one of the coolest bars we've come across in Austin and a great spot to bring out-of-town visitors. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you can appreciate the scale and creativity of the place. There's someone at the entrance to check IDs, and once inside, the indoor bar is to the left, while the rest of the space opens up into a large outdoor area with themed seating, lawn & table games, a vantage point, and even a small maze near the back. We ordered two cocktails, but unfortunately, both were disappointing. It was a challenge to finish them, and we actually considered leaving them unfinished. Also, note that there's a 3% surcharge for credit card payments. Gin & Josie ($13) - Made with Fords Gin, lemon, and mint. It tasted overwhelmingly like straight gin with little balance. Frisco Fizz ($16) - A blend of Aguasol Silver Tequila, Aperol, lime, and Jarritos grapefruit. Slightly better than the Gin & Josie, but still not enjoyable enough to order again.

We saw this on a "10 things to do in Austin" video and it looked cool! It's east of downtown in a quieter area. The vintage signs are great! Staff was very friendly! They have food trucks there, but they're not open on the weekends. You can order from their restaurant next door, Lao'd Bar. Order with the bartender and they'll even run over and grab it for you! We had the Lao'd Dogg (sf) -- Fried Lao sausage, brioche bun, jeow bong aioli, Lao'er-kraut and the lao'd Smash Burger (sf)-- Lao pork sausage patty, potato bun, jeow bong aioli slaw, rice fermented pickles, bacon, American cheese. Both were very good! Beer is reasonably price, but I had a frozen Peach Bellini and it was $14 - quite expensive for the small glass it comes in. Definitely do recommend, especially for the atmosphere

It was a bit out of the way but it makes sense, you need lots of space and land to hold all of the retired signs from all around Austin. There's plenty of parking, Lao'd Bar is next store for some Lao food. I had their egg rolls and they were small but bomb. I love how interactive it is. There's themed rooms, like a "movie" one with dvds and vhs on the walls, one with a pool table, one that looked like it was Arabian themed. There's also a maze for halloween, clown themed. There's beer, drinks, reasonably priced. Great place to check out.

The most friendly bartenders! They make great drinks too. Very relaxed vibe and all the decor makes it fun.

We finally made it up north to check out the Sign Bar. I've lived in Austin for over 30 years, so many of these signs are familiar to me. It was really cool to walk down memory lane. There's lots of seating, and cool little nooks. The drinks were good. We were able to order food from the bar, but apparently the pager didn't work for us, so the food was a little cold when we got it.

Such a unique bar and concept. I came here for Halloween and they had a fun haunted house! Really unique vibes and environment and they have booths with different games like pool or foosball. They do take a while to wait though. I'm not sure if they always have this, but on Halloween they were serving special cocktails for $16 that that just poured premixed out of a pitcher into a tiny cup which was soo not worth but the drink itself wasn't too bad.

It's a really cool spot, that I accidentally happened upon while going to eat at Lao'd bar. It really took me down memory lane, seeing so many signs of places I knew over the years that would've likely never crossed my mind again. There were just a few scattered patrons and it was dusk, and the entire atmosphere just felt timeless, intimate and nostalgic in a way that's hard to describe. I genuinely had fun using their foosball table, and just wandering around taking in the atmosphere. I'm not sure if it's busier and more lively on other nights of the week, but I loved the version of the experience that I got.

What a neat place! Glad we dropped by to see our friends and have a drink. I feel this place needs even a larger parking lot or something out back and they bring you back on a Haywagon ride or something of that nature. It feels like a destination. You drive in and there's different buildings on the lot. Once inside the gates Of the Sign bar, there's plenty of seating areas going around. I was there on a Sunday night, so there was plenty of seating. Lots of advertising of old bars, and what not. You must come and experience it. The bar keepers were very nice and helped us out with our drinks. It felt low-key for us which is what we wanted. I can't imagine what is Friday Saturday night looks like. I'm sure it's outrageous and fun. Bring your kids, bring your dogs and friends. They sure won't want to miss this!

Is this place a good place for children? I know that the night hours my not be appropriate for the kids but is the earliest hours okay for children to come and run around and enjoy the scene?

Plenty of open turf area, but nothing for them to play on. Table areas only. Not sure they will enjoy the scene as much as you will. If you want to have a drink and watch them run around. There is a maze you can walk behind them in but it's small.… Read more

At first, the menu was a bit limited and didn't have Lao staples like jeow som! But their menu has improved a LOT with great bar food versions of Lao dishes. You can't go wrong here with whatever you order (and thank god they kept that Lao hotdog lol), but there are some things you MUST get. It is VERY hard to get nam khao in Austin, but although there is no competition in the area, they still do it right here. It is SO good, perfect crunch, and finally has enough lime! It fixed that craving for me RIGHT up. Good crunchy peanuts and everything. They had a khao piak special as well. Normally I wouldn't really order khao piak because it's such a homey, easy-to-make meal in theory. But for some reason, I can't make it the same way as how they did it here. It was my favorite thing I tried last night. The fried chicken skin was an amazing addition that you'll end up fighting your friends for. Their tam mak hoong is also so legit. 17 chilis to make it, and you know they thum that papaya! The tomatoes were great for a sweeter bite. Although I'm pretty bad with spice, it wasn't the hottest I've ever had, which might be a bit more palatable for others. However, you can customize the level which is really nice for a place that makes smaller portioned food as a bar spot. The place feels like family and I enjoyed seeing such a diverse customer base come in. If you also wanna hear from good Thai music too... perk up LOL!

Founded in 1997 by Chip McElroy, Live Oak was built with a simple idea "make beer for people who actually like the taste of beer." In 2015, Live Oak moved to their current location on a beautiful property along the Colorado River, opening a taproom and biergarten. One its unique features...it's off the beaten path of other breweries. Live Oak Brewing is north of the airport and backs to the Fast Park remote airport parking lot. At first glance it looks like it's a convergence of a fire station and deserted manufacturing plant. The grounds are impeccable...tall statuesque trees, lush green vegetation and an extensive outside biergarten. It feels like you are in a nature bubble. Interestingly, Live Oak Brewing has its own on site 18 hole disc golf course (different from traditional golf) located directly on the brewery's property. Live Oak Brewing's interior has the feel of a German Hofbräu...homey, spacious, and welcoming, with long communal tables that encourage conversation and human interaction. You can see directly into the brewing space, with large tanks and equipment. Also, board games are available if you choose to play. Live Oak is family friendly and dog friendly. In fact, Groot, the owner's dog, freely roams through the brewery drinking area. While I only had sips of beer (not a big beer drinker), my friends enjoyed their beers. Live Oak Brewery Company is a super fun place to hang out.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
