I always see this bar on social media and I finally decided to give it a try. This bar exceeded my expectations with the drinks, the size, events, games, and shops. The actual bar is to the left of the entrance. I love that they have a variety of drink specials as well as nonalcoholic beverages. I was hoping to get a taste of the food, but the kitchen doesn't open until 4pm. I would also suggest coming later if you want to catch a show from the live band or explore their seasonal mazes. There's plenty of photo ops, jenga, corn hole, pool, foosball, connect four, pacman, and a few other arcade games. This place is completely filled with 80s, 90s, and early 2000s' nostalgia. It's the perfect spot of tourist and for native austinites. There also a lot of vintage signs from old stores and restaurants that were local to austin as well. I would say this spot is worth the hype! I also give bonus points for the shops & food trucks outside of the bar. The perfect place to hang out with friends and have some fun. read more

I've seen this place all over the internet I needed to see it for myself. I came on a Thursday night, and I was the only person here. It was a cool vibe, seeing all of the neon signs and I'm sure if it was more lively, I would've had a better time and better experience. The drinks are decently priced, and the staff is extremely friendly. Being alone here gave some Zombieland, creepy vibes and I was kind of living for it. This place has showed on my Social Media feeds several times and while we were in the area on Sunday we stopped by. Really great assortment of old signs, like walking through the Neon museum in Vegas but filled with old Austin haunts. I came for a work happy hour, drinks came fast, plenty of seating options even some lawn games which were free! (I've been to places where they charge you to play ). Drinks were delicious! Wow!! This place is a walk down memory lane with all the old businesses that used to be Austin favorites. It's a really cool spot with games and a pool table that's definitely old, but still fun. There's also a maze to walk through, which adds to the vibe. They have food trucks out front, which was a nice touch. The service was okay -- there was one lady working last week who didn't seem very friendly and acted like she didn't want to be there, but the other staff were nice. I was driving around the area and came across the side bar. I knew this place was iconic and a lot of people rave about it online and I was so excited to finally discover it. It's super cool and a great place to hang out with friends. They have lots of different area areas where you can play different types of games and it made for a big crowds. I went during the Christmas season and loved being able to see their Christmas maze. There are so many different photo opportunities here. Overall, this place is a fun vibe. I finally made it to Sign Bar! Woohoo! This is definitely a place I am going to start bringing friends and family who visit from out-of-state. It is so spacious and there are so many things to see and explore. The inside bar has a garage-style vibe going on with, you guessed it, lots of signage. The exterior patio area is huge and I love the little themed cabanas as well. So, sos so many signs from businesses long gone. What a fantastic way to recycle, upcycle, and keep memories alive. I love that their is so much history in one spot and it can actually be a learning experience as well because they provide lots of information. The maze is crazy fun and of course I was like "oh this is nothing it's gonna be easy"...and I got lost in it. The drinks are pretty good too. Have I had better? We saw this on a "10 things to do in Austin" video and it looked cool! It's east of downtown in a quieter area. The vintage signs are great! Staff was very friendly! They have food trucks there, but they're not open on the weekends. You can order from their restaurant next door, Lao'd Bar. Order with the bartender and they'll even run over and grab it for you! We had the Lao'd Dogg (sf) -- Fried Lao sausage, brioche bun, jeow bong aioli, Lao'er-kraut and the lao'd Smash Burger (sf)-- Lao pork sausage patty, potato bun, jeow bong aioli slaw, rice fermented pickles, bacon, American cheese. Both were very good! Beer is reasonably price, but I had a frozen Peach Bellini and it was $14 - quite expensive for the small glass it comes in. It was a bit out of the way but it makes sense, you need lots of space and land to hold all of the retired signs from all around Austin. There's plenty of parking, Lao'd Bar is next store for some Lao food. I had their egg rolls and they were small but bomb. I love how interactive it is. There's themed rooms, like a "movie" one with dvds and vhs on the walls, one with a pool table, one that looked like it was Arabian themed. There's also a maze for halloween, clown themed. It's a really cool spot, that I accidentally happened upon while going to eat at Lao'd bar. It really took me down memory lane, seeing so many signs of places I knew over the years that would've likely never crossed my mind again. There were just a few scattered patrons and it was dusk, and the entire atmosphere just felt timeless, intimate and nostalgic in a way that's hard to describe. I genuinely had fun using their foosball table, and just wandering around taking in the atmosphere. What a neat place! Glad we dropped by to see our friends and have a drink. I feel this place needs even a larger parking lot or something out back and they bring you back on a Haywagon ride or something of that nature. It feels like a destination. You drive in and there's different buildings on the lot. Once inside the gates Of the Sign bar, there's plenty of seating areas going around. I was there on a Sunday night, so there was plenty of seating. Lots of advertising of old bars, and what not. You must come and experience it. The bar keepers were very nice and helped us out with our drinks. It felt low-key for us which is what we wanted. I can't imagine what is Friday Saturday night looks like. Looking for something to do at night before/after you take someone to the airport? This is a great spot to start a vacation or end! Definitely an Instagr-amable place and a decent spot for sports games too. Beautiful Austin graveyard of memorable spots. They have QR codes in multiple places outside to get information on where some of the signs are from and the history of it's previous home. Tons of unique seating and if you have a big group or an event you can even reserve certain spots or "rooms" they have setup. Tons of parking, fairly clean gender neutral single stall bathrooms. There is an indoor bar with bar seating and high tables as well. Service is fast, and expect regular Austin pricing. My only real complaint is the total lack of information on food availability. They have a list of trucks/partners on their website but no info on times and which ones are actually there at the time. They only post about food event special days, but not day to day. They currently have a pizza truck, a taco truck, and there seems to be a permanent Lao place Nextdoor/connected. Also it is Very buggy out there. Cute, fun spot! Kinda out of the way of downtown so I personally wouldn't say it's a "must-do." Unique idea, staff was friendly and drinks were great. I understand it's an outdoor venue but the billiards area had layers of grime and dust all over. Walking through and seeing the iconic Night Hawk sign and an entire room dedicated to I Love Video was a real trip down memory lane. If you're an Austin native or just miss the city's old-school charm, this place has all the feels. On to the food: go on a Monday for a burger or Wednesday for steak. We went for burger night, and I was pleasantly surprised! Fresh, tasty, and cooked to perfection, and at $13, it felt like a steal. There are a few food trucks outside in the parking lot, but we were very pleased with our choice and decided to skip out on the trailers. But here's where things get a little shaky. The music... Let's just say it didn't match the vibe. This is a spot dedicated to old Austin, so it's strange to hear a playlist that sounds more like a teen's Spotify mix. With so much legendary music born out of this city--Stevie Ray Vaughan, Willie Nelson, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Gary Clark Jr, and so many more--it would be amazing if they tapped into that local music history and dedicated at least one night a week to it. The bar experience also left a lot to be desired. My cocktail was watery, with barely a hint of alcohol. And to top it off, the bartenders weren't exactly friendly. (Note: I rarely if ever drink. When I do, it's a 2 drink maximum for me, so for me to feel like there's little to no alcohol in the cocktail says a lot.) It's a shame because Sign Bar has so much potential to capture that authentic Austin essence. For now, it's worth a visit for a nostalgic walk down memory lane and a solid burger, but with some tweaks, it could be an Austin gem. This place was amazing and so cute! I must say this review is strictly for the vibes and atmosphere as I didn't have any drinks or food purchases. This place is easy to find and so cute, even off the highway. Plenty parking so nothing to worry about there. The entrance is full of adorable giant signs so get your cameras ready because you will want to take pictures. There is plenty space and seating inside and outside. Outside offers loungers, bar stools and booth seating. There is a few sections off to the side that I can see being more for larger groups to hang out together. Each of those sections host a different theme like a cabana! Very cute. Off to the back there was a cute maze that was easy to walk through but still a little challenge! I looked over the menu and there was everything from mixed drinks to margaritas and beer! Bar food as expected and restrooms are off to the back outside. Meh on cleanliness. But to be expected in a bar setting off the highway! Great stop on the way to or from Austin. Would recommend. Great photo opportunities all over. I went to sign bar with a group of friends after seeing it all over tik tok. We were really excited to go because of all the good reviews we heard but were a little underwhelmed with the space. It's definitely a cool vibe but the location is kind of far away from Austin and the drinks were pretty average. I got a margarita and my friends got beers so you can't really go wrong with that but the drink menu wasn't anything special. The bar is spacious with quick service. The Steak deal on Wednesdays, though, not worth it. The prices are appealing, but you will get what you pay for. Rib eye chewy and fatty, at least 2-3 oz of fat. Sirloin was decent, and would've ordered two of those for $15 each instead of the rib eye for $25. The beef rib, appealing by the $3 price...but again...you get what you pay for. Mostly bone. Spicy Boys food truck may be your best option for food, here. read more

Small indoor seating available (bar and a few tables) with large out door patio which have Picnic tables, individual tables ,and a few "private" seating areas. 1 pool table, there were a couple other gathering spaces that may have had some type of entertainment aspect to it but I didn't go in them. Bartenders were pretty friendly and consistent however they didn't go out of their way to give any extra attention to the guests. This is a good space for company parties & other adult group gatherings. This was a super fun bar to hang out at! The day we were there was sunny, hot, and crazy humid - for this CA girl, anyway. I really liked that they have covered "rooms" with couches AND fans! Made being outside much more tolerable. This is a dog friendly bar, my friend brought her chihuahua with her and the waitress was being so sweet to her. It was pretty dead when we were there, I think they had just opened. Due to that, service was excellent! Our waitress came out about every 10 minutes to see if we needed anything else. We didn't pay for the drinks, so I am not sure of the prices, but I had two jack & cokes and they were fine. My husband had a beer that he liked, and our friend got one mixed drink and a michelada popsicle to help beat the heat. I just really liked the unique vibe here, it's unlike any bar I've ever been to. I would love to revisit this place on our next trip to Austin. read more

This is a great bar, especially if you're from Austin. All or most of the signs are from places in the Austin area. Considering this bar is called "Sign Bar", you'd think they have better signage identifying their location. I almost passed it twice! It is very easy to miss when driving around the turn leading up to the bar. The actual bar is indoors with not much seating however, outside has ample seating and tables. They also have cabana type seating with different themes, it is first come first serve. The parking lot is also huge! But be careful, you might mistake one of the signs for actual directional signage. They also have two food trucks and options for toilets. They have port o potties, air conditioned trailer type toilets, and a trail of bats leading you to the real bathrooms (my personal preference).
