Perfect atmosphere, indoor dining is small, but feels modern, spacious, and cozy all at the same time. The staff is warm and welcoming and likely contributes to the cozy feel of the restaurant. The main table is communal, which is perfect for separate groups or interacting with neighbors. We came for Happy Hour on a Sunday, and the deals were on cocktails, snacks, and the smashburger. We ordered drinks, as well as the Beet Salad with olive-hazelut relish, peppers (which added an unexpected kick), and chevre and Melon y Jamon with peaches, ricotta, mint, and basil. Overall, a perfect spot for happy hour!
Updating to a four. We came back and service was stellar. They also fixed the fries!! New addition we got this time was the burger and that was heavenly.
My husband and I will be thinking of this meal for a while. We can't wait to go back! The service is excellent and we were always well attended. We love the vibe too. We sat on the patio and it was perfect outside. I definitely recommend reservations as the inside is very small. I like it though because it's very intimate and gives the cool bar vibe. The food is absolutely delicious too. It's right next door to Este as they are both under the same restaurant group. There is free valet that you can use for both restaurants. I will come back next time for happy hour where you can get 1/2 of their smashburgesa. My ratings of my meal are below. Focaccia with whipped butter - 10/10, perfect crispy outside and soft warm center Papas Fritas - 10/10, crispy frites with nice aioli to pair Chicken piccata - 10/10, I almost didn't order this because it's a dish I always feel is better made at home vs a restaurant but I'm so glad I did. It has perfect acidity and the breading on the chicken was perfect texture. The side salad was a great pairing to balance it all and the vinaigrette was so nice on it Smashburgesa - 100/10 - No words. We will be back to get this for sure. Wagyu beef, griddled ham on top. The textures and flavor all hit so good. My husband is picky on burgers and he loved it. Tres leches - 8/10, I'm not a huge tres leches fan so if you like it then you'll definitely enjoy this version. I like the espresso they used to soak the cake it was a unique spin on this.

FAST FACTS: * Parking - complimentary valet and street parking available on side streets nearby * Reservations - available online through Open Table * Outdoor patio seating available * Happy hour specials from 5-6 pm on Sunday through Thursday and all night on Mondays (1/2 off smashburgesas, $2 off signature cocktails, & $2 off wine glasses) * Tutti Al Toti Italian dinner for $35 on Sunday nights SERVICE - We arrived at 5:00 pm when they opened and had a reservation so we were seated right away. There are only a few tables inside so I recommend making a reservation. Our server, Dave, took great care of us from start to finish. PRICING - The total was $68.20 after tax ($5.20) but before tip for an order of focaccia ($7), papa fritas ($9), hot honey sprouts ($15), and 2 la smashburgesas ($16 each). I think the pricing is reasonable for the food quality and portion size but it's definitely more affordable if you go during happy hour. FOCOCCIA (8/10) - A great appetizer! It is cut into 4 pieces. The focaccia was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the whipped butter with honey and thyme is salty and sweet. I'd order this again. PAPA FRITAS (8/10) - Delicious! The fries are thin but crispy and covered in garlic, shallot, and lemon aioli. These are perfect for an appetizer or to split as a side with the smashburgesa. I'd order this again. HOT HONEY SPROUTS (8/10) - The brussels are cooked really well... they're soft with the right amount of crisp from being fried. The butternut squash puree underneath was DELICIOUS and added some sweetness along with the honey. The sliced almonds paired really well with the earthy flavors and added a nice crunch. I'd order these again. LA SMASHBURGESA (9/10) - This is one of my favorite smash burgers in Austin! The patties are the perfect thickness and cooked well without being overdone. The griddled ham adds a lot of flavor and is super unique. The cheese was melty and the chipotle mayo and escabeche relish add a mild heat and acidity. I'd come back just for this (especially during happy hour when it's 1/2 off). This was my first time trying Bar Toti but I will definitely be back and would recommend it to others. We came for a quick dinner before heading to an event downtown and it was a great experience! I will be sure to come during happy hour next time to take advantage of the great deals they offer!
If you're looking for an intimate, small restaurant with great food, decor and small events, Bar Toti is the place to go. Not only does Bar Toti have one of the best smash burgers in town with La Smashburgesa which takes 2 wagyu feed patties, griddled ham, and a relish that is to die for, it also has some of the most memorable dishes I've had while in Austin. In short, get the Sweet Corn Risotto while you can. My first bite on this last visit left me feeling like Anton Ego when he bit into the Ratatouille for the first time. The risotto/farro were creamy and melt in your mouth. The roasted squash was so wonderfully warm and reminded me of home. It genuinely felt like I got a hug from my mom as a child. The Papas Fritas are also worth the $9 which I still believe is a strangely high price. The garlic, shallot, and lemon aioli they mix together makes such a wonderfully robust mouth feel experience that is popping with flavor. And the fries are so damn crispy! My only issue this past time was I wished they hadn't broken them up into such small pieces. I'm a long fry type of guy myself. The staff are always very nice and noticeably a little eclectic but nothing out of the ordinary for a restaurant in East Austin. We needed the night with the Bay Leaf Flan that tasted much less like bay leaf and more just an absolutely excellent flan dessert. The sauce at the bottom mixed with the blueberries was the perfect bite every time. Highly recommend it while it's still here. If you've yet to try Bar Toti, go soon. They also have half off Smashburgesas all night on Mondays and from 5-6pm Sunday-Thursday. At the very least go for the burger. In summary, Bar Toti is one of my sleeper favorite restaurants in all of Austin. Not dramatically over expensive but damn good food and atmosphere. Check it out.
Bar Toti is a cute little bar next to Este with a phenomenal burger and fries. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which was perfect for date night! The server was kind and explained the perfect bottle of prosecco for us. Would definitely come again!
We stopped in for a celebratory glass of wine on a Monday and ended up stumbling on a stellar happy hour! They have great deals on Mondays and Tuesdays. We had $2 off all our drinks and our burgers were 1/2 off! I actually loved the smashburger on a bed of lettuce, it was delicious and perfectly balanced. They were knowledgeable and helpful about gluten free options. Patio was lovely on a fall evening! The space is small but perfect
This is the cutest little restaurant for a date night! Especially with their Sunday night pasta special! Inside is so cozy. Not too many tables so I would recommend a reservation if you go on a busy night. There is complementary valet parking outside with the option to tip on Venmo. I came for the Tutti Al Toti Sunday night pasta special for $35. It was a little steep of a price for the amount of food you get but the meal was delicious and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients in the salad. You get a salad with toast and the pasta dish of the month. The vegetables in the salad were some of the best I've had, so fresh. The dressing was borderline too salty but the cucumber and tomatoes helped to balance it out. The pasta dish for June 2025 was tortellini in a vodka sauce and it was awesome. Sauce was a good tangy but made creamy with the ricotta dollops. For dessert we ordered the best dessert in Austin, the pastel de elote. The dessert used to just be served at Este next door but now they serve it at bar toti, so way more accessible now!! If you come eat here, it's a must order. The fruit it's served with also changes seasonally. You will not regret. Overall, I would definitely come back here for the vibes and a fresh delicious meal.
This was a nice impromptu date night. We initially planned to go next door, but there was a wait. Bar Toti had a nice, welcoming ambiance. The staff were very friendly and checked on us regularly. They also gave great recommendations on the menu. We were there at 5 on a Saturday, so the communal tables can get a little tight. The focaccia with whipped butter is amazing! It is warm with a soft center and crispy crust. The mushroom medley was delicious with meaty mushrooms and some acidity. The greens on the dish actually added to the flavors instead of being just decoration which can sometimes be the case in other places. The Smashburgesa was good, but was not the highlight for us. The relish was a little overpowering for us and took away from the charred goodness of the burger. However, this is definitely one of their top dishes so you can't go wrong if you order it. The portion sizes were excellent for us and they have happy hour specials that look very tempting. Complimentary valet parking and street parking are available.
Bar toti has a pretty good happy hour and we came mostly to try the hamburger since everyone has said its the best smash burger in town! For half off it's a great deal and has been on my list ever since I bought a painting inspired by it from none other then the Maridad Studio from the Cathedral who told me how she was inspired by this amazing burger called the smashburgergesa. I bought this painting over a year and a half ago and just had this burger this year...was it life changing? Yes Was it all that the painting portrayed and more? Yes Do I now understand the inspiration? Yes If your in the manor area and looking for a cute spot for a mid-week cocktail and a small bite i'd recommend Bar toti, we also had the roasted carrots in a yogurt sauce. Something about roasted carrots always pleases me not sure what it is, it's so simplistic but probably one of my favorite veggies. The parking situation is street parking in the neighborhood or valet, service is always nice and seating is plentiful outside. If you want to sit inside make sure to make a reservation especially once it starts to get hot due how Hot it gets out here!
Highly recommend this place for food and drinks. The Smashburgesa lives up to the hypes and the grilled ham inside the burger tasted a little bit like bacon. Delicious. Papas fritas and focaccia are great sides. The Muhammara grilled pepper and pecan dip is pretty savory. We also fried the mushroom medley dish with meaty mushroom and manchego. I tried a spoonful of the risotto. Not bad. The classic drinks were made to perfection. The bartender did a good job. The service was decent. We got our food pretty quickly. The interior is pretty small. Casual ambiance but people still dressed up. The chairs are wooden. Not very comfortable. There is only one unisex bathroom. The running water from the faucet was set on hot water only. Maybe it was just that night. But be careful not to burn your hands. I'm sure they will get it fixed. Complimentary valet parking available. Definitely would come back again!
Food was delicious! The steak, mushroom were really good. Kale salad was a bit too much dressing, risotto was okay. Service was nice. Great for gatherings, big group, small group, family and date night. Great to hang out.
10/10 every dish was perfect. This place is low key in the best way. Amazing smash burger, drinks and the cheesecake was maybe the best I've ever had. The vibe is European with not so many seats. Order anything and then enjoy the company. A new favorite in Austin.
Loved this place from start to finish. Well, the parking situation could have been clearer. The valet signs are a as lil for Este, no mention of Bar Toti so I initially found street parking until my friend arrived and's advised of valet. It was complimentary which was nice. Made a reservation the day before for 5pm when they open as this was the time with an indoor seating option. Such as cute and quaint interior. They keep the ac going so be prepared to thaw out when you leave. Food wise we started with the baba ganoush, fries and each got a smashburger. From 5-6 they have a happy hour where the smash burgers are 50% off! Deal! Wine was also $2 off a glass. The fries were so good, we ordered another round. Note that they do not travel well as I took some home and it wasn't the same. Must eat freshly made! Baba ganoush was tasty as well. Smash burgers were the highlight, relish on the side and good call as it was spicy (mouth on fire), which is a as hard pass for me. The burger was nice and crisp all around getting that nice bite each time. Cheese nice and melted and the sauce was perfect. I could have ordered another, but that would have been overload. Def recommend doing a reservation and get the burger, you won't be disappointed. read more

The best smashed burgers in Austin--and even better, they're half off every Monday. My husband and I used to make it a Monday date to sit out on their patio, which is very romantic and charming, split a burger, and grab a couple of cocktails. Only recently did I finally decide to branch out and order the Hongos a la Plancha, and oh my goodness--I feel like such a fool for not trying it sooner. I still dream about this dish. Think deeply umami mushrooms soaked in egg yolk with just enough cheese to bring everything together. I haven't found another place that does it quite like Bar Toti. Hopefully it stays on the menu permanently because I'll absolutely be ordering it again the next time I'm in Austin. read more
Bar toti is a restaurant that I take friends & family visiting from out of town to impress them. It's cozy and warm, every staff member is so nice, it's overall a great spot. The focaccia is delicious, and I get that every time. The smash hamburgesa & the chicken piccata are dishes I've had several times and are both delicious. On Sundays they do a pasta that often changes based on the season, this time was a corn cavatelli and you guessed it, it was delicious. Some other things I love about bar toti is that they offer valet & have tasty low ABV apertivo cocktails. A great spot. read more

Solid place for drinks/apps. We enjoyed the food we got, and service was good. The location is very convenient and the decor/outside seating is very pretty with lights and trees. We sat outside on a chilly night but the heaters kept us sufficiently warm. The fries were a standout: delicious and very garlicy. Enjoyed the other dishes too, and the sangria was fruity and sweet. Definitely on the pricier side, $70 ish for 3 apps and 1 drink. Would recommend making a reservation, we got here at 6pm and there was a one hour wait for indoor seating (no wait for outside because it was a colder night) read more

Best smash burger I've ever had!! The ham and relish is truly top notch - it is so delicious! The papas fritas on the side with the aoli are incredible too! Highly recommend both of these things. I got a ginger beer (so refreshing and light with the burger/fry combo) And we also got the Modelito ($3 small beer) Burgers are half off during HH from 5-6 Sunday - Thursday!! The indoor is so cute and the light fixtures are beautiful! Service was great and we were the first table to order and our food came out in less than 10 minutes! We loved it and will definitely be back! read more
Went recently for a relaxing date with my boyfriend since we were both craving the la smashburgesa that we kept seeing on tiktok. It was so juicy, I also got an extra side of the aioli to dip the burger in. 9/10! We also got two cocktails, the palomita and the 50/50 manhattan. We rate those a 6/10 for each! As always, Bar Toti never disappoints! My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to go out for dinner last minute on Friday, and we looked online and snagged the last reservation available at Bar Toti. We found free street parking in the neighborhood and walked over. We were seated immediately when we arrived, and service was very attentive right from the beginning. We each started with a tinto de verano to drink, and then we ordered the focaccia (so tasty with the honey butter!) and the garden salad. Bar Toti recommends that you order 2 plates at a time, since they come out right as they are ready. The garden salad was surprisingly big and so flavorful! Then, we got the mushrooms (the cheese on the top is a nice touch!) and the burger (this is always a go-to). Finally, we got the fries, which were great! Everything is fresh and delicious. I have no complaints and will certainly be back soon! Also, although this was not a concern for us, Bar Toti is very accommodating to dietary restrictions. We have vegan & vegetarian friends, as well as friends with severe peanut allergies that come here without any issues! read more
I am obsessed with this area with Este being right next to it. The patio area is great and the burgers and fries are really some of the city's best. The smashburger is a must! I can't wait to go back and try more of their other dishes. read more

Oh my god where do I start?!? I was having the absolute worst day, I'm going through a divorce and I've been having a rough month but my friends invited me out to cheer me up and we walked into Bar Toti on a whim - oh my god EMiLIO saved my life!!! He completely turned my mood around, the customer service was top tier and I felt like the most important special person in the world! The food was phenomenal for the price and they even gave me a free dessert to celebrate my birthday (and divorce lol) definitely bringing my next husband here lol the staff rocks, 10/10 ambiance and vibes - new fave spot for sure!!!! read more

Bar Toti used to be a spot you'd just hang out at while you waited for a table at Este but now it stands on its own! Their menu is solid - not just bar food. Wine and cocktail selection is top notch. And they're open Thursday - Mondays! Make sure to snag a res or plan to wait a while. Service was a bit slower than I would have liked but everything I ate and drank was stellar. Highly recommend the shrimp, focaccia (best I've eaten), smashburguesa and frites! Steak frites was good but the sauce was the star of the show. Bar Toti is battling it out as a top Happy Hour contender! Despite not hearing much about this spot amongst all the other ATX restaurant openings this past year, I saw it recommended on Eater, and in Eater we trust. Let's talk about it! The size of the space is similar to that of a smaller in-law suite you'd expect in the Tarrytown neighborhood, boasting thoughtful and stunning color contrast found in the beautiful starburst tile flooring and the giant tassel lampshades overhead. Plenty of large windows allow plenty of natural light in. Each window ledge was adorned with a dried flower arrangement - details were clearly considered and stunningly executed in this intimate lime washed interior space! I'm a sucker for a thoughtful interior. Food wise, we came for the $8 HH burger and indulged ourselves in the "beautiful" (the waitstaff called everything beautiful, which was very true) caesar and beet plate. Here's the breakdown: Beet plate: Possibly THE best combination of flavors with beets that I've ever experienced. The creamy buffalo cheese w/ the pickled peppers and crunchy bits (not sure what they were) paired so lovingly with the beets. I'd come back just to eat this. 555555/5, no joke. Caesar salad: I was definitely baited - I saw a waitstaff walk past with an order, and thought it was a heavy helping, but it was actually visual sorcery. Was definitely slightly saltier than I like, but overall great flavors. Note that the crouton element of the dish are crumbled, which kind of had me missing the large crunchy crispy bits. Not bad, not great, not just right. 3.5/5 Burger: LAWDDDD - DELICIOUS. Juicy, succulent, mouthwatering, cheesy, textural - everything I could ask for in a burger. At $8, I was in heaven. Didn't get the fries to pair this time around, but you appear to receive a healthy helping...(unless it's more visual wizardry at work.) 5/5 Cocktails were deeelish, with complex flavors and bitters coming through on the rum based drink which also came with a GOOD maraschino cherry. IYKYK. The espresso cocktail gave "Christmas" vibes and we were for it, but it didn't pair as well with the flavors of the meal. Overall, definitely down to come back again to try more sides and their olive oil cake! read more
New fave burger. #1 on our list! This will likely be our go-to when we want a DELICIOUS, tasty, not fast food burger. This burger is freaking amazing. We were able to get reservations for today, Sunday, at 5 pm. It happened to be happy hour and the burgers are HALF OFF. We're not drinkers so the $2 off the drinks were just a side note for us. Back to the burger. I planned on getting the tilefish milanesa but I could see the burgers being made from my seat. I had a front row seat to the kitchen (which I ABSOLUTELY love) and I could smell the jamón when it was on the grill. Cherry on top and my deciding factor. We started with a focaccia bread with buffalo queso fresco and wow, it was great. The queso had teeny apple slices in it and we loved it. We followed up with the burgers and our minds were pretty blown. I personally loved the fries, I'm a fry gal, they were perfectly crispy and the aioli was just top notch. We eventually dipped our last bites of burger in the aioli and... ugh. Just made the burger better in our opinion. We finished off with a cookie and I think I was just so full I didn't care for it. Service was amazing and we had the most exceptional experience. Couldn't have asked for more. read more

Bar Toti hits it out of the park! If you want the best burger in Austin, La Smashburgesa is what you need. So unique with its relish of onions and jalapeños - this burger is not greasy whatsoever but juicy from its additions. The ham is crisp and fatty, the bun = perfection. I will be back ASAP for this burger. The drinks were incredible and worth it for the price as they were larger in size. The fries were absolutely perfect with the aioli that was provided. With September 2024's cooler weather, this outdoor spot really hit the mark. Great service, cute tables, very delicious small plates. We had Baba Ganoush, beets and the mushrooms. Everything was well prepared. The fresh dill really brightened the flavors. This is such a lovely spot and the mushroom dish is truly outstanding! Thank you! read more
Bar Toti is a more casual concept restaurant located behind Este. First things first, they don't take reservations, and the menu, as well as the space, is a lot smaller. However, once you get past that, you can see what stands out about this place, and that's the food and drinks! One thing you should definitely try is the La Smashburgesa. It was easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. The Steak Frites my friends ordered was also fantastic. One bite of their red wine steak butter sauce said it all for me. Both dishes paired well with their classic margarita and mezcalita drinks. However, something I would pass on is the Tortilla De Patata. It was like eating an omelet for dinner, which I wasn't a fan of. The service was also a little spotty. It was difficult to track down our waitress a few times to get our order in as well as extra napkins. Overall, though, I was satisfied with our experience here and can recommend it if you're looking for something a bit casual without breaking the bank. read more

This place is tiny and soo cute! It's right behind Este and if you can, definitely snag a reservation or go early if going on the weekend. Everything we had was delicious. My favorite was definitely the shrimp and the burger. Not usually a fan of ham but i would have it again. read more
