This bar is a pass through next to Seven Grand. The bandera shots are pretty good. Bartender was great with explaining what they actually are. Stop by here and try them out

The drinks were great and the food was okay. I accidentally ordered duplicates of food and I noticed it after I checked out. The cook was gone for a while and came back and called 3 different people and had no idea how to do it. I wasn't issued a refund but the food was good. I loved the queso and the unique chips they have. *[[HIGHLIGHT]]You cannot order inside and must order outside but it was a good time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Las Perlas' tacos are a local favorite: in fact, an Uber driver and a bartender at another bar both pointed me here. On my visit, the mouthwatering brisket taco fulfilled its promise: it was crispy, it was beefy, it had a slightly crisped tortilla, and it was served hot off the flattop. It was delectable even before I doused it with the provided green salsa and lime. Unfortunately the cheese quesadilla was short of perfect: I think the cheese needed salt, and its thickness threw the bite out of balance. On top of that, my guava margarita was astringent, and somehow the salt rim tasted bright, which was strange. I didn't get any citrus or body from any part of the glass. This part of Austin is a bit sketchier than the more commercial parts of South Congress. I walked past all the live music venues on 6th Street to get there, dodging more than one barker who wanted to lure me inside. I also did way more traffic avoidance, as a pedestrian, than in other parts of the city. I wouldn't have come to Las Perlas if it didn't have strong recommendations. It's pretty dark inside the bar, but the area by the outdoor taco stand is an interior courtyard, which is well lit during the day. I asked the bartender if I could bring my tacos inside to eat (with my marg) and she had no concerns.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was great to come to to wind down with some friends after work![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Located over on East 7th, there was plenty of parking available right next door (as well as a couple of spots on the street as well). They have a great happy hour, as I landed on the Guava Margarita (they're known for their margs and claim to be the best in town - so I had to test them out!). The margarita was amazing - not too strong, and very flavorful. The quesadilla was much larger than I expected, and made fresh! I could eat two of them if I wanted. The chips and queso however wasn't that great - the flavor of the queso threw me off (reminded me like velveeta cheese), so I wasn't much of a fan. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also tried their Espresso Martini + Billiards table in the bar behind (which I believe is called 7Grand?) It was a complete vibe shift from Las Perla's - but still just as amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would definitely return here to have a quick drink or play a couple rounds of pool!

Great little place with a LOT of quality Mezcal! Went on a Monday night and it was a perfect little getaway before a concert. Tried their bandera shot (a 3-part shot which represents the Mexico flag with lime juice, mezcal and their own special tomato-based mix). I don't love shots but this one was actually very fun to do! The bartender was very nice and recommended the mocktail from the whiskey bar next door (but made it in-house for me). A very cool setup where it's 3 specialty bars that share a tab system & a back patio! That's where the tacos were made fresh on the griddle. Tacos were very good, with the chicken probably being my favorite (I hear the carnitas is a bit too sweet), and the brisket w/guac as a second fav. Great ambiance - I probably would have never stumbled in here on my own, but thanks to Yelp I'm glad I did!

A drink before Folies Comedy show and tacos. My 1st visit to Austin. I live in San Diego so tacos I'm pretty spoiled on good tacos. I ordered the chicken taco in the back patio, a taco truck without wheels. My friend got the brisket taco. We both loved the tacos. I don't eat raw onions so note my taco did not have onions.

Amy the amazing and fun bartender!! She introduced me to the best shot ever! Just ask her...what's the best shot to take with a group.

Amy the bar manager and bartender is friendly and such a great bartender!! She actually introduced me to my now favorite shot, La bandera!! And Amy let us know they have 2 locations and one in my hometown in San Diego. Amy come and visit us.

Is this restaurant still open. Phone is disconnected?

Hi Greg. We are a bar, not a restaurant. We just happen to have a taco truck that sets up on the patio of our venue, which is a completely different business called Asador Tacos. They are open 7 days a week from 4PM-12AM. Cheers.

They had no issues when taking our second round order while we were seated, but we were asked to leave the table immediately after. This round also took forever and we drank it standing, crowded, in everyone's way. I was embarrassed as it was my birthday, and I was taking a group of 7 other people - new to Austin - here to check out what was one of my favorite spots. I was bragging about it and chose it over other spots on their list. They hated it. I'm disappointed. Our server was great to us and apologetic about the service bar.

I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.

UPDATE: many reviews mentioned 4 hour parking, but this is no longer true - it is 2 HOUR parking the with a fee of $10 afterword. Not ideal for a remote working location for more than a short break. The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
