Was asked to order through the QR code as opposed to taking my order. Got a strawberry banana smoothie and it was the tartest smoothie I'd ever had. Took a good 8 minutes for it to be ready as well. Exterior is very cute though!

This place was bangin. The tacos had a ton of meat and really fill you up. They didn't make me feel bad and I'm pretty sensitive to tacos

A staple in Austin. The tacos are to die for. I went here on my last trip to Austin at one of the food truck locations and knew I had to return. Service is as fast as it can be for a busy restaurant. This location has seating and a bathroom so it's nice.

El Diferente taco for breakfast- Delicious

I had so many food targets to hit in Austin and this one didn't make my priority list for lunch/ dinner but I ended up coming here for a breakfast taco and really liked it! It's a small chain in Austin that started from a food truck of two women from Veracruz. Interestingly enough, the cashew based queso here is the default so people with nut allergies- watch out! I was told it was not made in house by the restaurant and I ended up not trying it. I ended up getting the El Diferente taco, while the women at the counter recommended the Furioso. I chose it because I preferred pinto beans to black beans. I added thier salsas that were creamy and it was delish with poblanos in it. The tacos sounded really simple to me from the descriptions but I ended up really enjoying the one I had for breakfast! My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

Very convenient location right off the bats bridge! Really cool spot to rest since they offer a great variety of juice / smoothies and tacos! I got the grilled fish taco and doña Reyna taco - the portion is very good! It's freshly made so do expect to wait 15-20 mins but it's very worth it! The grilled fish taco comes with a big piece of avocado and the doña Reyna taco has a good amount of chicken and the sauce is very flavorful! They'll ask for a phone number at the register and they'll call your name / text you when your order is ready. They have a great indoor and outdoor dining area!

Came on a Saturday afternoon around the lunch hour rush. Although the wait for the food took awhile, it was worth it. It was a bit noisy so if you weren't near the counter, it was hard to hear them call your name. Fortunately, they do provide text notifications when you order at the counter. I didn't realize this was a smaller location so their menu was very limited compared to their Mueller restaurant. There was plenty of chairs/tables indoors and a few set outside. I would say there were 3 "main" areas of seating. The taco meats are all well seasoned and so much good flavor. I really enjoyed the chipotle-like sauce it came with. Unfortunately, the other 3 (not all pictured) were not for me because I can't handle spicy. LOVED: grilled chicken, grilled steak, al pastor, nice one juice MEH: grilled fish PASS: strawberry horchata agua frescas - maybe I should have ordered a different flavor but it tasted like Nesquik strawberry milk :(

Hibiscus Agua Fresca

I love the vegan and vegetarian options marked on the menu! I ordered two La Reyna tacos and two Furioso taco to split over lunch and dinner. The tacos were on the bigger side and stuffed, absolutely worth the price. The Furioso tacos weren't spicy, but had great flavors and held up well when I ate them 5 hours later. I had a hibiscus agua fresca, which was delicious and served in a BIG cup. They have filtered hot or cold water for free. The indoor atmosphere gives off a lot of comfy earthy vibes and the art work on the side is beautiful. There is a side window, but don't order here if you're ordering to go, it must be for food delivery drivers.

Awesome breakfast tacos! They have so many options and you can mix and match. My partner also got the breakfast torta which was massive and messy but really good. My favorite breakfast taco was the migas because of the crunch from the fried corn tortillas. Note don't have coffee here but they do have some in the hotel next door!

Crystal L.

Breakfast tacos were just okay. Nothing spectacular. Maybe overhyped from social media ? So maybe was expecting a flavor explosion experience, otherwise, decent breakfast tacos. Their beans and cheese tacos were rather bland, I had better at another taco shop is Austin. Agua Fresca, the Jamaica, was tasty. Again, nothing spectacular.

Breakfast taco was so good here. I actually dream of coming back for more. This was one of the stops our local tour guide brought us to. Good for vegetarian (many vegetarian options, even a Vegan Queso on the menu) Indoor tables can be a bit closely placed, but there are also outdoor spaces if you don't mind the weather.

Shrimp Macha

While I'm going to give the nod to Cuantos Tacos for the best I've had in Austin, this place is no slouch when it comes to a more artisanal approach to creative combinations of flavors and as a good a cup of fresh guac as you'll ever have. I also enjoyed a really great "breakfast torta" that was my first.

Menu is cute

Went today and overall left with mixed feelings. The tacos were good, but the prices felt surprisingly high and the wait was much longer than expected. Food We ordered two tacos -- barbacoa and grilled steak, both about $6.50 each -- plus a 24 oz La Jarocha juice (apple, orange, carrot, beet) that ended up being over $10. Altogether the bill came out to a little over $30 for two people. Flavor-wise the tacos were solid. The barbacoa was tender and well seasoned, and the steak taco was also good, but the portions were on the smaller side. Nothing wrong with the food, but nothing that really justified the price either. I've heard they use organic ingredients, which might explain part of the cost, but it still felt expensive for what I get. Service This is a counter-service, self-pickup setup, so there isn't really table service. When we arrived, there was already a line and we waited about 15-20 minutes just to place the order. After ordering, we still had to wait another ~20 minutes for the food to come out. For two tacos and a juice, the total wait felt pretty long. Atmosphere The space itself is actually very nice. It's large, bright, and clean, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The location right in downtown Austin is also very convenient, which probably explains why it stays busy. Overall The tacos tasted good and the space is pleasant, but when you add everything together -- long lines, another wait for the food, small portions, and a $30+ bill with no table service -- the experience ended up feeling pretty overpriced. Good food, but personally the price-to-value ratio makes it hard for me to come back often.

I love Veracruz! I have visited their other locations, but went to the one in the Line Hotel during SXSW for the first time. I run past this location most mornings, and people are always lined up outside the window. I ordered my usual - shrimp macha taco and el diferente. I get this same order every time since these are my 2 favs. I also had a topo chico and they had cut up limes I could add. I sat on one of the couches near the bar while waiting for my food. By that time a table opened up and I enjoyed my tacos. Friendly employees and always delicious tacos. Be back again soon!

They have a cute indoor seating area along with a rooftop patio, which is really cute especially when the weather gets great. I got a corn poblano soup and I have to say that was delicious. I got the small cup and next time I go back I will definitely get the whole bowl cause that was amazing. I did go during brunch hours so I got two tacos. One of them was the Migos taco, which was delicious. I love that the tortilla chips and they were nice and crunchy still and not soggy. I also got a taco called the Cherrywood, which had bacon cheese, egg, potato, and avocado, and it was delicious. I love that their tortillas are homemade and they're not the cheap American puffy ones. They also give you complementary chips and salsa and both salsa were delicious. I literally combine both of them in my tacos. They do have some great drinks. One of them is the Highlander margarita which is really nice and smooth and they use patron silver. They also had another margarita that I saw a lot of people ordering and it was an avocado one, and everybody kept raving about it. They definitely have a good mix of cocktails and then anything in general that you would want.

We stopped by at 11:45 am and surprisingly there were plenty of parking spots around the restaurant. We had a great waiter who was attentive and patient with us. We ordered a mimosa carafe for the group. Unfortunately, I think they need a better way of serving these mimosas because the sparkling wine in the carafe gets immediately warm due to not being placed on ice. We were drinking lukewarm mimosas. Please rethink this El Alma, you need buckets to keep the wine and juice cold! Anyways, we received complimentary chips and salsa while we waited for our food. I ordered the breakfast enchiladas which were delicious. They had egg in them, and honestly never thought this existed but happy I found it! Wish the side of beans it came with was bigger. The rest of our group enjoyed their foods as well. There's rooftop seating which was lovely BUT there's a huge oak tree above that continuously drops leaves and debris constantly. Our drinks had floating bits and it just kept falling. I recommend some umbrellas. Our waiter was kind enough to let us move when a table opened up under the canopy. Great food, super cool restaurant but some operational issues that keep it to a 4 and not a 5.

We knew that Austin is a foodie city and it didn't disappoint in the slightest in hitting all those food types that we were wanting to try. We enthusiastically marked off "Mexican" by coming to Taqueria De Diez. It wasn't in our bookmarks to try. I believe we came across it in a Google search or a Yelp search and we're impressed with the review score and decided to go check it out. It didn't disappoint at all. The review score average definitely held up. We got tacos here. I got three Asada tacos and I have to say that these tacos are the best I have had in recent memory. And I am all about tacos. I mean I LOVE tacos so that is saying a lot as I am such a snob with Mexican food. I can say with quite a bit of confidence... and this is even a bigger statement... these tacos may very well be the best I have EVER had. Now, I know that's saying a lot but they were so, so good. Months later from our dining experience there I am still thinking about this place. So if I could give more than five stars I most certainly would. Sometimes the no frills restaurants are the best and that is kind of what's going on here. It somewhat arranged with placing your order a tad bit like a cafeteria (but not an actual cafeteria). You place your food order and then wait for it at the end. Lots of customers take their orders to go but there is spots where you can dine in also. Steve and I did just that and we sat and enjoyed our tacos. So what makes me praise these tacos so much? I don't know for sure but the roll out of flavor on your tongue was just magical. The steak I imagine was prepared with perfection and got all of the tender, loving care it needed to be as amazing as it was. The rest of the toppings were great too as well as the sauces and the taco sized tortillas were probably a likely suspect as well in their perfection. It was so perfect. Taco bliss indeed. I long for these tacos again and if we are even somewhat close to Austin seeking this place out will be a no brainer for us.

It's actually considered a "reverse speakeasy" with a gorgous bar with a disco ball in the front, and mouthwatering food in the back. I'd also read reviews from a few Yelp Elite members who were slightly disappointed. I hope those didn't color my experience, but I came away feeling much the same. I arrived around 5 p.m., shortly after opening, and the place was already packed. Luckily, I snagged one of the only two seats available at the bar. The decor was fine, but nothing particularly special. The staff were super attentive and clearly very busy. Things moved a little more slowly than I would have liked, but it certainly wasn't for lack of effort. I was considering a happy hour taco when the bartender suggested a half order of the famous Suadero Tacos, made with Wagyu beef. I went with that, plus the Frijoles con Veneno, refried beans with seared panela cheese, and a Don Dario cocktail. I thought that would be the beginning of my meal. Turns out, that combination was filling enough to be the whole thing. The food was very, very good. Still, like some other reviewers, I didn't feel it quite lived up to the hype. Would I have felt differently if I hadn't read those reviews beforehand? Maybe. Attentive staff and very good food deserve credit. I just didn't leave quite as excited as I'd hoped.

Somehow I'd never been despite living so close, so I was excited to finally check it off my list. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their famous foyer is just as pretty in person as everyone says. I came with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar first while waiting, but I definitely recommend making reservations because this place is BUSY, even on a weeknight. Parking can also be a bit of a struggle since they have a pretty small lot. I had to make a few laps before I finally found a spot, so definitely give yourself a little extra time. They do offer valet, and I believe you may also be able to park in the lot next door after hours since it's their sister restaurant, but don't quote me on that haha. Their margaritas are also really good and definitely on the stronger side, so they were a great way to start the meal. The staff here was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. One thing I'm noticing as we do these is that you often write reviews that are genuinely useful--not just "food good/bad."
