We were told that their system was down & they would only honor our reservation by seating us at a two seater for the 3 of us. When we got to the table at 5:17 our waitress told us we only had the table until 6:30 because they had a reservation for that table at 6:30. How do you know that if your "system" is down? Total chaos. I will never trust a reservation at this restaurant . Everything was perfect from our server Clementine, frozen margaritas, chips & queso, and our main meal. Excited to have this place in the hood. The second time we came they had finished the back room and it was such an awesome ambiance. Bar was backlit with beautiful lighting, decorations made you feel almost like your a local in Mexico but fancy style. This is the area to sit if you have a choice. Not sure if it was just busy and understaffed but service was not as on it speedwise as I hoped. Also didn't help that I was level 9 hungry when we got there. Do not come here. I had reserved a table here last night for myself and some friends for my birthday. 7/11 We were supposed to have 10 people. When we arrived they let us know they had a 2hr time limit on the patio and we had to be gone by 9pm, due to us being 10 mins late. Literally the first thing that came out of their mouths when we walked up. Heads up any big parties you will be seated outside. Even if it rains! No exceptions. That's what I was told. We walk to our table and it's 2 tables not put together we were told they'd be put together. The food was mediocre every single service member/ wait staff I ran into was rude. First time at this new location and I am so glad they're here!! I always make a stop at De Nada when I'm in town. Parking can be tricky when it's busy, but if you're patient you'll find a spot! My go-to order is the De Nada trio -- queso, guacamole, and salsa with tortilla chips -- washed down with a skinny margarita! Fair warning, those sneak up on you ;P They come in small and large sizes, and you get to take the pink cup home :) They've also got a great selection of tequilas!! Seating-wise there's bar and table seating inside, plus a large patio with plenty of room -- and yes, they've got the fountain out there too, just like the other location. I'm always torn between the crispy beef taco and the Mexico City quesadillas! Never disappoints. The vibe here is great -- welcoming and vibrant. Amazing margaritas. If your indecisive make sure you try any of their seafood tacos you absolutely cannot go wrong with either the shrimp or the fish. They were absolutely delicious and recommended by our amazing server. This a fun, lively, CASUAL restaurant. They took over the old El Mercado and have done a great job refurbishing and remodeling it. Parking isn't great, since the word is out that it's super popular. The food and drinks are very good, but the price point?? Nope. I'm always irritated when I have to pay for chips and salsa. Nine dollars for a small basket of chips, little bowl of guacamole and a few tablespoons of salsa, with no refills? Ridiculous for a CASUAL restaurant. There are no menus. You scan it with a QR code. Server was lovely and the food and drinks came out quickly. It's loud inside. Remember what I said about lively? Ultimately our bill with the tip for 2 people was $100. I expect this from higher end Mexican restaurants, not from a restaurant that serves their drinks in plastic cups. I'm glad we went, but it's doubtful we will go back. read more

We are in Austin this week and wanted some good Mexican food. Found this place and it has two locations. We made a reservation on open table and once we arrived were sat immediately. Started w the frozen margarita and wow. They are super strong. It was good and i would get it again but one is plenty. Got chips and queso and it was really creamy and good. It comes w salsa verde which had the perfect amount of spice. I got the breakfast tacos w potato and egg and one with potato egg beans and avocado. They were in a corn tortilla and came with red salsa that was more mild. Husband got birria tacos and kale salad and it was also very good. Inside and outside is decorated super cute. This place is deceiving because it's big inside and has a lot of seating. There's also a patio. Parking was limited and a bit tricky. The food tasted amazing. It took a little bit to be seated but it was worth it. Our server was efficient and attentive. They bring your drink in a pink "aguasol" souvenir cup that you get to keep. I had high hopes for De Nada after all the social media hype, so was excited to try this place however it did not live up to my expectations. They have an expansive menu of TexMex options. We were seated in the indoor dining area that was decorated with many Mexican cultural relics for an immersive experience. They also have a nice outdoor seating area as well. We were happy to hear that it was all day happy hour when we arrived on Sunday. I ordered a mezcal rocks margarita on draft made with IILEGAL JOVEN Mezcal. I was surprised at the size for the happy hour price point as I thought it was a bit small. The margarita had a good flavor with a smoky and citrusy profile with a bit of carbonation. We started out with the chips and salsa flight that came with three types of salsa (roja, verde, yellow cream?), none of which I was a fan of and was a bit on the spicier side. Then I ordered the crispy beef tacos that came with an order of two with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese in a crispy shell. I was not a fan of the beef and actually asked if I could order something else. The server was very accommodating and took the item back and allowed me to order the birria tacos from the regular menu. They came with Smoked Birria, Monterey Jack Cheese, Onions, Cilantro & Beef Consommé. These tacos were much better flavor wise but the portion size was extremely small for the price. I did get excited about the pazole verde and felt like I was still hungry after my tacos but didn't end up trying it. So for TexMex I thought it was just average and maybe I just didn't know what to order. I would be open to giving it another try due to the pazole and some other drinks on the menu. East Side comes to the South Side! We were somehow invited to De Nada's soft opening of their new location on South First St. Our adventure started on a down note as a crash turned Mopac into a parking lot. There was no way we were going to make our 4 PM reservation. We called, and they were able to accommodate us at 4:30! If you are a fan of their OG location, you will love their new digs. The funky Mexican-themed decor is very similar, and there is a spacious outdoor patio. I was expecting a few soft opening hiccups, but service and food were AOK throughout our visit. Their Marghies are famous! Our Fav is the El Chingon, their Cadillac of Margs. They have a great selection of tequilas and mezcals and plenty of beer offerings. There are a few specialty foo-foo cocktails as well. Their food is always on point. We have never been disappointed and always leave happily stuffed er satisfied. Since this was a soft opening, the menu was limited, but with enough options to satisfy all. We began with chips and queso. Be sure to ask for their on-request Chef's hot sauce. Depending on the day or the Chef's mood, it will be either at a level 3 heat or, holy moly, can I get a glass of milk heat. I was in the mood for their pozole verde, and it did not disappoint. My bowl arrived with plenty of chicken, hominy, and all the traditional accompaniments. Perfecto! We split two entrees, bierra chiliquiles and chicken and cheese quesadillas. The bierra beef was so tender and spiced perfectly. My quesadillas were excellent, and the refried beans are always my favorite. Pro tip: Parking may be an issue. NOTE: Grand Opening is 2/22/26! I love De Nada so much and am so glad I was able to participate in the soft opening of their latest location on South 1st. This was one of the smoothest soft openings I think I've ever attended. Could it be their years of impeccable service and knowledge with the other location? Could it be dedication and love of what they're doing? I'd wager to say yes and yes! Our server Gio was absolutely fab! Love him! I dig the setup and layout of this space and the rustic decor. It's giving warm and welcoming vibes with wood walls, wood beams, Mexican tiles, and more. A real "take a load off and have a marg" vibe. The smaller front bar/patio seems to still be getting put together. Looks like it'll be ready to go for the grab opening. The back patio is huge and inviting. Lots of tables and chairs and picnic tables with a fountain and other aesthetically pleasing decor. I mean they are known for their stellar frozen margaritas! Not to mention the other cocktails they can whip up and leave you feeling good all the day long. Can't forget about the amazing coffee offerings either. It goes without saying that the food is epic. I went here on a recommendation from a friend who had recently visited and really liked it. On the Uber ride there, my driver mentioned he had just dropped off another passenger there and that it's super popular among locals which is always good to hear. I was alone for this meal so managed to snag the last spot at the bar. I loved the homey, authentic atmosphere and found myself just staring behind the bar at all the relics on the shelves. I had one of their signature margaritas, three different types of tacos, and a side of chips and salsa. The birria was some of the best I've ever had. It took awhile to get the attention of a bartender to order but after that, I found the service was good. One of the girls was extra sweet and unexpectedly gave me two of their signature pink cups as souveneirs when I had mentioned that I was from out of town. By the time I left at 6:30, there was a three hour wait for a table so I'd definitely recommend getting a reservation if going on a Friday or Saturday. read more

I've been to their other location so I had to try this one too. We did not expect this location to be so big! The outside patio was really cute, but there's a lot of people so it is loud. We ordered the queso (which comes with salsa verde) ($7.50) and 2 of their taco Tuesday deals which is 2 tacos, rice and beans ($15 each). We got 2 fish tacos, a shrimp taco, and a Camote taco which is like a sweet potato and veggie filling. The fish was cooked nicely and I liked it, but needed a spicy salsa or more sauce with it, because it was too bland for me. Same thing for the shrimp. I added some of the salsa verde which helped! The rice is a cilantro lime rice (I think?) with some corn and the beans are VERY smoky, so much so that I thought they had meat in them, but we were reassured they were vegetarian. Was not a fan of the beans just because of how smoky they were. Service was great, the waitress we had was so sweet! If I got these tacos full price I probably would have rated it a 3, but since their Tuesday deal is affordable, I think it's worth a visit. Maybe ask for some cholula though! read more

Husband and I were invited to their soft opening at their new location on South 1st St. Their Grand Opening is scheduled for 2/22/26, which not so coincidentally coincides with National Margherita Day. We were both impressed with the service, food, and drink, with no soft opening snafus. Their margaritas are famous, and the El Chingon is our go‑to Cadillac‑style cocktail. Access their online menu to see all of their tequila, mezcal, beer, and specialty cocktail offerings. It is very impressive. We were hungry on this visit, so we first ordered chips and queso. I like that the chips are not flimsy. We split an order of pozole verde. I've had good pozole and bad pozole. Their pozole is excellent. It has plenty of chicken (I prefer pork but this works), hominy, and a good portion of toppings. I ordered the birria chilaquiles. The birria was tender and well‑spiced. Loved the sauce, I just wish it was served a tad warmer. I would order this again. Husband ordered the chicken and cheese quesadillas. He raves about the refried beans. The tacos and enchiladas were great, however they do not know how to make a skinny margarita here. It came out very sweet. I sent it back and the 2nd one was only slightly less sweet. They're using way too much simple syrup in their skinnies. It took watering it down by squeezing in 5 lime slices and diluting w/ topo chico to get it close to the tartness instead of sweetness that a skinny margarita should taste like. Margaritas Can't Save a Rat Trap (Literally) Let me start with the one positive: the margaritas were genuinely good. That's it. That's the whole positive section of this review. We arrived with our dog and were seated out front on what I can only describe as the set of a nature documentary -- specifically the kind where the ecosystem is deeply out of balance. First, the music volume when we sat down was loud enough to make conversation nearly impossible. Not "fun lively patio" loud -- "is this a punishment" loud. BTW...m not a boomer, I love good music and I love loud music, but have s was intolerable and someone must have complained as it was turned down inevitably. Second, we sat for a solid 10 minutes without a single acknowledgment from staff. No water, no greeting, no eye contact. Nothing. Third -- and this is where things get genuinely concerning -- the flies were relentless. Not a fly or two. A fly situation. Blackjack, who is normally very chill, was so bothered that he eventually backed himself into the corner of our seating area trying to escape them. And then there was the rat trap. Literally right behind my chair. A rat trap -- baited, active, and apparently fascinating to my dog who could not stop sniffing in its direction. I'm no health inspector, but I'm fairly confident that "active rodent trapping infrastructure adjacent to dining guests" is not a green flag. The combination of a fly infestation and evidence of a rodent problem in a food and beverage establishment raises serious questions that go well beyond a bad dining experience. We stayed for the margaritas because, again, they were good. But no cocktail is good enough to make me feel okay about what was happening around us. read more

Margaritas over priced (even their "so called hora feliz") served in plastic cups and $13.25 for what they call a "large" but is just normal size elsewhere and they're on draft not even hand poured. Eh. The margs are strong and good, I'll give them that... but almost all of the food we ordered was underwhelming. Never in my life have I not enjoyed queso, until now. It was flavorless and the ground beef we added to it was extremely overcooked/dry. We ordered the De Nada Trio - the salsas and guac were fine, but the queso was a major letdown. The shrimp and fish tacos were both mediocre at best. The camote taco was just ok. There was one standout however, which was the carnitas taco that our lovely server Tatianna recommended adding pickled pineapple to - that was excellent and adding the pickled pineapple was definitely the move. All in all, it was alright. No complaints on service or atmosphere, but the food was just pretty disappointing. read more
