Their kitchen was backed up when we came for a late dinner, but the servers were on top of it keep up updated and bring over water and complementary chips while we waited. The inside is a stylish bar with some booth and table seats for groups. They're a great choice for dinner if you're staying at the Hilton & don't feel like heading up the block to 6th street to find something to eat. read more

I am absolutely mind blown!!!! Came here to attend the 2026 Yelp elite badge month event and it was so freaking amazing. Despite how many people they had over there the lines were short there was never shortage of food and I never had to wait for anything. What a treat. I tried every single item on their food buffet there and there wasn't a single thing that didn't blow my mind. The tuna, sashimi tacos, the lobster tail, the duck, the brisket taco, the lamb. Everything was absolutely freaking amazing.. the showstopper was the Black Forest taco. That was by far the most unique thing on the menu. I had never seen anything like that before. Do you want an awesome breakfast taco? We'll go elsewhere. Not terrible but very far from value for the price. So 2 tacos will run you about $17 and a coffee $5. A continental breakfast (the stuff you usually get for free at other hotels) will run you $31 per person. Thus far from worthwhile. Don't get me wrong, staying at the Hilton to had to try this place especially since weather was crap and didn't want to venture far. Tacos had some flavor (thus not bland, but far from yummy). Updated: A Busser (I think because he served us water when we sat) came over and said he wanted to make it right. That he would make fresh eggs and indeed eggs were freshly cooked however, I can only give them one more star because while I was eating my eggs, I noticed a employee crush one of the bugs that I mentioned below and kick it 3 times across the restaurant to the bar area. WTH Bacon had no flavor but maybe they pull it together for lunch or the alcohol drinks are good but I would never eat here for breakfast. They were absolutely delicious! My husband really enjoyed the carne asada tacos. Their chips were delectable also! Our server was Vincent. He was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We wish we had eaten here before when we first got to Austin. The restaurant inside the main section of the Hilton is NOT good, so we really regretted discovering ATP on the last day of our visit. My girlfriend and I ate here about a year ago and we used our diamond reward for the breakfast and I got to say the breakfast burritos were really good. I also want to say we had lunch here too or something. I can't remember but I know for a fact we both really enjoyed the breakfast burritos. I believe they still open late, which is nice. I had lunch here during SXSW. Great food and service! The cactus tacos were flavorful and served piping hot (temp, not spice). There is a nice spacious patio next to the light rail. They have gluten free options. My husband has Celiac disease and asked the server about ordering. She was honest and advised they aren't able to accommodate someone with celiac disease (try to avoid cross contamination) due to the use of flour tortillas in addition to corn tortillas. We appreciated her honesty and he opted to just order a drink. So I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone with Celiac disease or a wheat allergy. read more

Decided to sit in the bar area. Since I'm in TX, I decided to first try the brisket tacos. These are street taco size and very tasty with a slight kick. Decided to order the asada and crispy fish tacos. Didn't care for the asada but the crispy fish taco was very good. Service is really good here and very attentive. Only reason for the 4 is the cocktails. I would give this a 5 for cocktails 2 for food. Honestly the vegetarian taco and the shrimp taco were the only ones worth any sort of payment. I went here a couple of times cause it was close to the hotel. The first time was great. My tip definitely showed as the bartender took care of me with the awesome drinks all night "Hurricane". It was great. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken but in the end the reason it was not the greatest was the food was only so good. The service was only so hitting. The second time I went it was slower but they struggled to get my food to me. It was cold. It was very much like they where overwhelmed and mad we had something to say about it. We decided to go for breakfast at the Austin Taco Project while staying at the Hilton Downtown Austin. The restaurant is located inside the hotel. After walking into the restaurant we were greeted by a hostess who seated us after a few minutes. The restaurant is a decent size and there were tables and chairs, a few booths, and a bar. Quickly after we were greeted by our waiter and we told him that we were planning on having the breakfast buffet. He explained where to go and said he'd come back to check on us. While we were getting our food the waiter brought us some water to drink. The buffet was in a separate room. It had a variety of food that is typical for a buffet. I decided to try some fresh pineapple, scrambled eggs with some green salsa, bacon, potatoes, and a daily special. I also tried fresh baked bread with jam. To drink I poured myself some apple juice. The pineapple was good. It was fresh and sweet. The scrambled eggs were okay. The green salsa added flavor. The daily special was decent. It was a mix of eggs, brisket, peppers, onions, and cheese. The veggies that were in it added a little flavor and you could definitely taste the brisket and cheese. The bacon was warm, and crispy. I prefer my bacon that way so it was good. The potatoes had a little flavor. I liked the fresh baked bread with jam. The bread was soft and the jam was sweet. I like mixing my food so the combination of all of the food flavors and the bread with jam made for a good mixed breakfast plate. Before leaving the waiter came over and told us that they were going to close out the buffet and if we wanted to take anything he'd give us some boxes. We happily accepted and went and grabbed some pancakes, bread, bacon, muffins and chocolate filled croissants. Before leaving we placed an order to go for some Tacos. We ordered the Carne Asada tacos with just meat in flour tortillas and we ordered the Tajita Tacos which has chicken, peppers, onions, cotija cheese, pico de gallo, in flour tortilla. The tacos were a hit with our teens. This restaurant is known for their tacos and I will definitely try them next time. Visited 4/27/22, was prompted to visit from coupon offered at a Yelp event. We sat at the bar and ordered some food and drinks. We ordered the free with coupon small Brisket Taco and also ordered the Poke Tacos. Both items were delicious and were pretty filling. The tuna was nice and fresh and a great color. I especially enjoyed the plate presentation for the items. I'd say it was less than 10 minutes after we ordered that we received our food items, very quick. We also tried the Texas Tequila Flight. It comes with 3 different tequila samples and a glass of some lime slices. My favorite from the flight was the 512 Tequila Austin. Our bartender/server chatted with us a bit about the tequilas and gave great information for what we were drinking. There are a few different games scattered around for you to play while waiting for your food or drinks. They also have a giant Jenga and some arcade games. It can get a bit noisy there inside and outside as it is located right next to the metro railway. We'll definitely be back to try out more of the menu and do the Top Golf! read more

Scientifically Perfect Austin is a big taco town and I have my favorites, and the Austin Taco Project is one of them. I am usually downtown regularly and was planning on dining at Cannon + Belle, but they were closed so came here instead for lunch. One thing to know is the prices here are a bit higher than other taco places around town, but don't let that scare you away where the food here is good. They also have a nice bar and games to play. The place was a bit busy and decided to try the Battered Fish. The menu described it is tortilla crusted cod, shredded cabbage, mango salsa, cilantro lime cream and corn tortilla. The fish tacos arrived in pairs and both had a big filet of fish. The batter on the fish was crispy and had a great taste. All the ingredients on it made it perfect. Eat this and will be full for the rest of the day. Austin Taco Project may not be the grab & go taco joint but if you want a place to sit and relax then perhaps a place for you. read more
