Pancake taco

Went for the breakfast tacos. Originally ordered 2 and then saw someone eating the pancake taco and decided I needed it too :) Great spot for a quick breakfast.

Nachos, queso, horchata

Walked here after getting a local recommendation. My taco was fabulous, I made it a combo and added queso and was very happy. And every day is a good day with horchata! Easy street access, limited indoor seating, fast, fresh and hot food. Will go again if in the area!

Somewhere in the chaos of downtown Austin you can find OneTaco - Frost Tower. One of many locations, this spot is conveniently located on the ground floor right next to a parking garage. The atmosphere was decent, a taco joint with self serve salsa and a few seats towards the back. Service was friendly and the food came out quick too. We tried a few tacos and cheese quesadillas so we had a diverse spread. As far as tacos go, it's hard to make bad tacos and these were about as middle of the road as they come. We were very excited for the birria taco and it fell very flat, the corn tortillas don't taste too fresh and the consome was pretty bland. The al pastor taco was okay, not a huge fan of pineapple on it but we can't dock points for something we could easily choose to remove. The best taco by far was the carne asada, it was juicy and full of flavor, all around delicious. They offer two vegetarian taco options which was helpful since on of our friends is vegetarian and they really liked them curing their flavorfulness. Our cheese quesadillas were okay, again hard to mess up cheese and bread. The flour tortillas definitely taste better than the corn here, which is something we don't come across often. The final verdict is that OneTaco is a middle of the road taco joint that is a great option for anyone finishing off a night on 6th to head on over to.

Pastor & Pina

These days I'm saving my carbs for dessert, so when I go for tortillas it's One Taco for me. The Al Pastor was a little dry, light on pineapple. Green sauce and quick in/out a plus!

Came here as I needed something quick and cheap which was walkable from my hotel. Ordered the carne asada, al pastor, and birria. It was solid, really good portion size. Obviously can't compare to L.A. street tacos because that's what I'm used to, but it got the job done. Staff was really friendly here. They had a smile on their face at all times. Even gave me some extra consome when I accidentally spilled some. Good meal, but nothing that makes me need to absolutely come back.

Quesadilla (Cheese only)

Came in here cuz I needed a godamn snacky and was craving a mother fuckin quesadilla, this place delivered. Such chill vibe, food came out fast, plenty of seating. Tacos and quesadillas are micro but good price, like less than $7 for this satiating snack. Tasted yum as fuck, really hit the spot. Woman working the counter was hella nice. No complaints!! Would come to this place for snack time again

Street Tacos Barbacoa and Steak taco (Carne Asada)

Small taco joint. Not a lot of seating. Good street tacos. Very flavorful. Staff was welcoming/friendly. Tacos were ready pretty quickly. I'd go back for a quick inexpensive meal. We spent just under $35 for 6 tacos and two sodas.

Barbacoa Taco

I had the pleasure of learning about this place catering style in a parking lot at a Howler Brothers FC Party. The Barbacoa is BOMB. I think I had like 3 of them. Ok ok maybe 4.... I even wanted to ask them when the party was wrapping up if they had extra barbacoa that needed a home to go to. But...I didn't. Still kicking myself for not even trying lol. Juicy but not greasy. Corn tortilla was sturdy but not too thick. Veggie topping options were fresh. The flavor on point - I didn't even need to add their house sauce. And to speak for the catering - the setup was a great idea. They had heated servers of each of the meats and made your taco fresh to order. Each person could add their own veggies of their liking and sauce at the other end of the table. I love this concept way better than pre-made tacos. Huge plus, the guys working the stand were so friendly. Serving size did not disappoint AND they never judged me for how many times I kept going back.

Visited Austin and had to try One Taco for breakfast--and I'm so glad I did! The tacos were absolutely delicious. My favorite was the Barbacoa taco--tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Great food and great service--can't ask for more. Definitely a must-visit spot for breakfast tacos in Austin!

I'm glad I stopped in. It's about a six minute walk from the Hilton hotel downtown. The lady answered. The phone was very friendly and took care of me. Food : the carne Asada taco was actually really good. It's top notch. Easy five stars for that taco. I like how they put the melted white cheese it's cool to perfection! Absolutely my favorite taco I had. Now the pastor taco wasn't that good. It was like 2 out of 5 stars. It was okay. The pineapple cuts were too big. Like I said the carne asada is the way to go! Easy five stars for that one.

This place is authentic to say the least! It has everything you could imagine from a Latino taco stand, the drinks, sides, and tacos. However, I have had many authentic tacos in Texas and around the country and it just didn't have that burst of flavor that I was expecting. Overall it is a good quick lunch spot

Food is good. Prices are cheap, never had a bad experience with their service. Casual lil spot. When ever I'am in town this is my go 2 spot.

I finally got a chance to experience One Taco and I was astonished. It was all new to me and walked up to order a Pollo Asado where the menu said was Grilled Chicken, Cheese Black Beans, Avocado & Chipotle Sauce along with a Topo Chico. The taco was just delicious with that Mexican flavor to it. The chicken was cooked perfectly, tasty spices, and soft touch to my mouth. I was amazed and definitely place One Taco in my Austin top 3. Two days later I returned to enjoy the Bandera where the menu said was Grilled Chicken, Avocado Grilled Cauliflower, Crispy & Pico de Gallo. This taco was also super delicious. The staff is nice and there is some seating inside, but the place is small. I recommend walking here but if you need to park then suggest in the Frost Bank Building which is appended to this place. This place will give you feeling of a Mexican taco place from across the border.

I ordered 2 steak tacos and horchata, both very delicious. The horchata is milky and sweet but not crazy sweet, and topped off with cinnamon. The steak tacos came out pretty hot, fresh from the grill. I got them on corn tortillas and I'm glad I did: idk if they make them in house but somebody in some house is making these because they definitely aren't store bought, and if they are I want to know where! I tried the orange habanero and creamy serrano salsas. The habanero was spicy off the bat, while the serrano had more of a lingering burn. Both paired well with the steak. They have a little bar, too, though I did not imbibe this time. Seems like they have a decent selection of agave spirits, and even Campari behind the bar (iykyk). Give them a shot, and thank the ladies in the kitchen.

I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average
