These tacos were SO good for only $3 each! The breakfast tacos come with three ingredients of your choice, which is really nice as a lot of places only let you choose two for the same price. I got a breakfast taco with egg, potato, and chorizo. This was my favourite of the tacos I got. I also got the al pastor, which was really tasty although just a little bit dry. I was curious about the chicharrón description as I didn't know what cracklings were, so I decided to try it. It turned out to be a bunch of pieces of fat, which I didn't like that much, but I bet that someone who likes fat would enjoy it. I really liked the salsa verde, which was tangy and mildly spicy. My friend loved her tacos too. We came here for Sunday lunch, and the drive-through line was a little busy, but there was no line inside. It is a small building with a few tables inside. They have a cold water dispenser with cups, and there are a few parking spots around the building. read more

This Tacorrido location has the best tacos! So many choices, all are so good! The Taco de Hongos is my favorite! They do 3 types of salsa, I recommend the red for flavor/spice combo. Their horchata is amazing but i wish they had a large size. Right now they only serve small and medium sizes for their aguas frescas. The service is good but sometimes the drive through can feel a bit long. But the tacos come out fresh and hot so it's worth it. read more

This isn't Mexican food. This is cheap Americanized food. And poorly executed. Generous on the fillings but man, zero flavor. The corn tortillas were not real street style mini ones, they were almost regular size and they did double them up but ended up falling apart. I also had a carnitas gordita and the actual Gordita dough itself was not traditional at all. It tasted like something I could have gotten at Taco Bell. The bistec was more like hamburger ground beef - and absent of any flavor. The carnitas were dry and tasted like old meat. The sweet potatoes in the veggie tacos were severely undercooked. H-E-B has better salsas than what I was give here. And I'll stop there.... The drive thru experience was average and nothing stood out. I have driven by so many times, always wondering if it was a solid place...I probably should have just kept driving once again. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. Whether or not I go inside or take advantage of their super convenient drive-through, I love to enjoy a variety of their offers. from tacos to tortas or quesadillas and especially their Aguas Frescas! They have different Aguas Frescas on the daily, and you just have to ask. But they always have Horchata. They have three different types of salsa: Roja, verde, and mocajete. Yum! read more

The tacos here are pretty affordable! They were not the best quality, I'll admit. Tortillas aren't handmade, the food was all right. They do have interesting options available though. Very conveniently located on Riverside, plus they have a drive-through so that's cool. Their patio outside is pretty nice at night. They do sell beer, so that's a plus for this location. Each taco is made right as you order so it's super fresh! These are some of the best breakfast tacos I've had that don't break the bank! I grabbed a couple of the pollos and a couple of al pastor. And since I'm a hot salsa wimp I had to have the mild salsa which apparently has crack in it. So good I could drink that stuff. Would give zero stars if it let me. We got 2 tacos and a gordita and everything was cold, especially the tortillas. The carne guisada was full of chilé seeds and not even edible. The tortilla for the gordita was hard as a rock. Everything went into the trash. Will never be back to this location. read more

Good solid choice! We get the veggies versions but one also had the chicken quesadilla & carnitas tacos. Always good &I like their salsas&guacamole. If you want a review about the food, it does taste good. However this is completely unacceptable. I know it's chorizo but there's no reason there should be this much grease in a taco. It's inedible and my cars seat is not permanently damaged from someone's carelessness. They did refund me as a sorry. Unfortunately that won't repair damaged upholstery. This place rules. They have delicious ceviche and the best pozole ever. And I usually don't even like pozole. It's incredible to get authentic delicious food through a drive though. Chips are made fresh. Tacos are fantastic. Wasn't a fan of the menudo just because it had too much meat for my liking but everything else is perfection. My boyfriend and I go there like 3 times a week sometimes. It's just too good and so convenient. I'm from El Paso so my standards are high and this place is great. I've been here a couple times so I can safely say this place is 2-stars. It's got a neat and tight eating area, and a drive-thru that is open until midnight. I'd definitely say this place is trying to be like a fast food chain that has more classical Mexican tastes. But the meat is always dry. So dry. Even with using one lime slice per taco, and 0.5 oz of salsa, the tacos still try and choke you with their lack of moisture. That salsa, by the way, is 30 cents per 1 oz if you want more. Huge red flag there to me because I think a good salsa is integral to a good taco and thus should be included in the price. Someone else pointed out their 1 taco = 1 salsa, 2 tacos = 1 salsa logic. These tacos definitely need the full 1 oz of salsa each. My salsa on my latest trip at least definitely lacked salt. A first for me as far as restaurants go. The tacos, however, may have been technically small, but boy were they packed with meat. For $2.75, I think you're getting a nice amount of meat so kudos to that. If you can handle dryness and paying for salsa, then I'd say this place is for you. Al Pastor - Good enough. Tastes like your typical non-trompo al pastor. Carnitas - Typically these tacos tend to be dry so I kept that in mind, but this manages to be dryer than other carnitas. Good flavor though. Habanero Chicken - I love habanero, but this wasn't doing it for me. Tasted a bit like HEB's pre-marinated chicken. Chips and Queso Blanco - You just get a tub of not-even-fully-melted cheese that is served cold. Wonderful! Peppers? Nah. Cilantro? No way. Maybe a tomato or onion? Forgetttt it. Queso literally means cheese, yes, but the connotation is usually a bit more involved. Chips were good thick chips. This sucks because the flavors of most of the meats are pretty good, but they tasted like they were cooked couple days ago and just reheated, whilst the queso was just left out at room temperature. read more

I was happy to hear that my favorite Austin Taco joint now has a Riverside location. Whether it's breakfast tacos I'm in the mood for, or authentic Mexican street tacos, El Tacorrido does it right! The white queso is some of the best in town. And if you needing some caffeine to get going, or a little pick-me-up, the Equinox (espresso with horchata) is delicious and different than the usual coffee shop drink. Recommended by the woman at the window. Decent. Edible at least. Gordita, awful. Like- awe.full. Tortillas, chewy. Absolute mess, bland, and with barbacoa that was more fat than meat. Potato breakfast taco, just for fun, to try it- no taste. Not even salt. I will give them this, the tomatillo salsa was good. That's about it. Cannot recommend it. Save your money. Decided to come here on a whim, after we recognized it from a city guide book. The taco de pescado was so good, as were the others (a la carte pollo taco on flour was 2nd favorite). Tried the A La Carte Taco Al Pastor, and could do without- neither good or bad. The salsas are great, the chips with the salsa . And loved that we could get a frozen mango margarita through a drive thru window- which to our surprise was SO GOOD. Best part, all super affordable. read more

I stopped here for my first culinary experience in Austin after leaving the airport before check-in at my hotel. They have a drive-thru, and they also serve breakfast tacos all day, which seems to be a staple here in Austin. The food was amazing, fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. The pollo tacos were so authentic. They have a pretty extensive menu. They are close to downtown and South Congress hotels, and the have a private parking lot with plenty of parking. I've been going to El Taccorrido for years and years at the S. 1st location. Was always my go-to and was excited to see it open on Riverside. Taste is still good my only complaint is how skimped our everything is vs what used to be served at the other location. It's sad you open your taco and that taco you can eat in two bites because you can roll it into a flauta bc of how empty it is. I've gone a few times maybe 3-4 to give benefit of the doubt but I think this will not change. The convenience of drive through is nice, that's it. I then went to the white food truck directly in front of the gas station next to Tacorrido. Not sure what it's called, but her tacos are 1.50-1.75 , homemade corn tortillas, and FAT. I love El Tacorrido, I was pumped when I saw they were opening one by my house. They have great food, great service, and great prices. I am a big fan of the all their tacos. It is very vegetarian and gluten free friendly. The chips and guacamole are delicious also. My wife's favorite Taco is TACO DE VERDURAS.
