Real Deal Holyfield taco, beef rib, barbacoa
    Kaycie Y.

Stopped by specifically for the Real Deal Holyfield taco and ended up ordering the beef rib, barbacoa, smoked Mac n cheese, and rice. The star of the show was definitely the RDH taco. The beans were fantastic, the brisket was almost melt-in-your-mouth, and the salsa on top really tied everything together. I think we're going back next weekend for that taco lol. The beef rib was good. It was a beef rib, nothing too spectacular about it. The barbacoa was very yummy, the rice and mac n cheese were also tasty. Overall it's okay bbq; we've had better elsewhere...but I don't think I've had a better breakfast taco. Service was awesome, super attentive, super friendly. I really appreciated the playground in the back immediately next to the patio. We were able to let our toddler run around while we ate!

Just went on Friday and saw they had smoked wings and had to give it a shot during lunch. The wings had 3 different sauce offerings and the ones I had were really good. I highly recommend giving the wings a try when they're offered. Service and ambiance is great as usual and I'm still amazed more people aren't there daily.

Churchrow Tejas BBQ is a fantastic spot. The barbecue was excellent, Miguel from Valentinas fame is the pitmaster so you know the smoke is on point ...a real standout is the tortillas--they are easily the best I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the meal, make some moist brisket tacos for the win They also have a great bar with a relaxed atmosphere and a solid drink selection. Friendly service, great food, and an overall experience that makes you want to come back. Highly recommended.

Met some friends here last week (5 of us) for dinner and enjoyed a nice evening on their front patio because the back was full of families with kids! Thankfully we got there in time to order quickly and our wait wasn't too long. You order at the register and they give you a number card that they use to locate you when your food is ready. You can can get drinks at their inside bar. Everyone was very helpful. I asked for a new aqua fresca without syrup which they obliged. We also asked them to turn down the music because it was really hard to hear out front and they did, but then it went back up again so we had to ask again which was when they mentioned it was the same sound system throughout so in the back and inside where there were more people, it was less loud. We appreciated they accommodated us when we were there so we didn't have to yell to hear each other! It's conveniently located and a wonderful spot for people with little kids as they have a fun play area in the back!

Came on a Mother's Day and there was no wait. The food was very good. No fountain drinks, they do canned drinks instead. TVs in the establishment if you're a sports fan. I enjoyed this place. All of the employees were nice. Ample parking available on slower days.

The most family friendly bbq shop in Austin, I love the indoor cozier vibe coupled with the outdoor patio and playscape. It's got something for everyone. Food comes out pretty quick too. It's a bbq spot and they got a lot of the classics - holy roller gives you a sampler of their greatest hits and all were good but nothing stellar imo. Everything leans peppery for the most part as the predominant flavor profile but it's juicy without being overly fatty. This is true for the brisket, pork rib, pulled pork and sausage. Nothing really stands out among those but if I had to get just one, probably the sausage. The sides are very interesting and those were fairly good. The smashed cheesy potatoes is an extreme cheese crusted potato hash that is home fry ish but not quite the crisp - but it does have lots of soft bits. The Mac and cheese is very complex with the smoky notes but hard to eat a lot of it. Pickles are a must. My friends got drinks and said they were some of the best they've had, so looks like a great evening spot. All in all, great add to the neighborhood and would love to come back and try the Mexican specialties.

Great yard for kids and pups. Lovely patio.

Darn tasty meats. great patio. Fantastic employees. I think the sides are a tad over priced. I'm not a fan of the Bbq sauce but the salsas were great. The chicken and Brisket were damn good. Fancy cocktails and Draft Beer. Kid and dog friendly. Hoping to try the Menudo next time. Strange way to order when you come in. There is no way to queue up because the place to order is right in front of the door.

1/2lb. pulled chicken, 1/2lb. of pulled pork, Mac & cheese, corn, tortillas and bread

We visited last weekend and loved this new restaurant! The meal was delicious. We ordered 1/2lb. pulled chicken, 1/2lb. of pulled pork, Mac & cheese, corn, tortillas and bread for 4 people. It was the perfect amount of food. The Bbq meat had deep flavor and was very juicy. All the dues were top notch and had their own unique flavor. The staff was very helpful - providing drink and food recommendations, pointing us toward silverware and bringing out the food and drinks. The inside is fresh and appealing. Even better, when it's not too hot, there's a wonderful patio with picnic tables, benches, outdoor TVs and a playground for kids!

I was delighted to see that Miguel, the former owner of Valentina's, is back in the barbecue business. His food is excellent. We ordered a beef rib and some brisket. Both were flavorful, juicy, and delicious. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Miguel told me that he opened too late to make the Texas Monthly ratings. I expect he'll be in the next Top 50.

Former owner of Valentina's is on the pit. What an upgrade this spot is over the place that was previously located here. A great neighborhood gem. As word continues to grow, it will be painful to park and work through the long lines with one person taking orders. Brisket: 5 Ribs: 5 Smoked chicken skewers: 4 OG Sausage: 3 Corn: 4 Veggies: 3 Mexican rice : 3 (dry) Mac n Cheese: 3 I'm not a fan of lean brisket, but this place would be an exception. Meats are sold by the 1/2 lb. My preference would be by 1/4 lb as the 1/2 lb minimum makes me order too much food in one setting for one.

Day 1 @ Churchrow BBQ...spotted Churchrow in route to the gym. ChurchRow Tejas BBQ is the collaboration of Simon Madera, known for his successful business ventures of Taco Flats and La Holly, and Miguel Vidal, the former pitmaster of Valentina's Tex-Mex BBQ. Their partnership goes back to their days as friends who met at St. Edward's University. They bonded over their shared love for their Tejano heritage and love of food. Apparently, Miguel, the pitmaster is known for his superb pitmaster skills at Valentina's and has amassed a strong following. Miguel greeted all guests, a nice touch and shared some of his BBQ history with us. The menu consists of starters, meats, sides, handhelds (tacos), sandwiches, platillos (plates), drinks and desserts. I like the unique names of the tacos (LaValentina, Tejanita, El Chico) and other menu items. I ordered the Tejania taco (chicken, roasted Pablo & red onion, pico, guacamole and tomatillo salsa) - the standout and El Chilango (thinly sliced sirloin steak, fresh cilantro and onion). Loved the homemade tortillas, tender well seasoned chicken and guacamole.., the tacos are so good!!!! Nothing like them in Austin... The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor picnic tables have umbrellas. Looking forward to coming back and exploring more menu items.

Texas BBQ with a taco flair! The food is good, vibes are spot on, cocktail menu is elevated (especially for a BBQ spot), but the wait times were brutal. When I arrived there was only 1 person in front of me. I ordered 1 drink, taco, beans and fajita meat, which took over 35 minutes to arrive. I know they just opened, so I'm hoping they will make things more streamlined.

What's waiting for you at the end of your credit card transaction

Last time I was in this building, it was under a different name called Black and Gold bbq. Parking during the peak lunch hour might be an issue since there's only 21 spaces, but apparently you can park at a school nearby, but only at certain times. The dining room is relatively sparse, and it looks like they kept those old uncomfortable wooden benches from the previous owners. My visit consisted of stopping in for a sliced brisket sandwich with a side of fries. That will set you back over $20 with a tip and no drink. Some yelpers have complained about the long wait times, but my order was out within 10 minutes during lunch. Each table has its own QR code, which is not necessarily meant to order your primary order, but in case you want to add additional drinks or sides later on. I have to admit I was very satisfied with the sliced brisket sandwich which had a very pronounced smoke ring and was very tender. I also definitely recommend a side of their homemade fries which are equally good and well worth the $3. Fortunately, the meat is so good that you do not need barbecue sauce, and I have to admit the sauce they serve here was not my favorite. If you're looking for lunch for around $20-30, this place would be a very good choice, especially if you like brisket. My only regret is that I did not get any ribs to go. some informative photos included.

The elote was good, but very creamy and a bit heavy. The queso was good but tbh I prefer Torchy's. The grilled steak taco was a bit underwhelming, I wanted it to have more flavor, it just tasted like beef and cheese. The chicken had good flavor and the special weekly taco was enjoyable and interesting, not like any taco I have had before. There is plenty of variety for people including those with dietary restrictions. My friends ordered two tacos each and I was full after 3 tacos so if you are not a big eater stick with two.
