Fresh BBQ cooked to order and brought out to you amongst pickle ball, picnic tables and a full bar. Family friendly and great place to have a full afternoon.

Seriously, what are the best burgers I've had in a long time. The smashed elk burger it's amazing. I recommend you trying it out. It's also a very fun hang here.

Pretend you play pickle ball, are into crowds and like to drink strong cocktails in a loud shipping container... this is for you! Now pretend you compost. While the food truck made the effort to have compostable trays and to go containers, they use plastic tableware AND they do not compost. Everything goes in the trash. Hot, friendly bartenders and multiple tvs tuned to sports = yea. But boo to pretending to compost.

CM Smokehouse was located at Bouldin Acres providing a food option for those hangin out in the sports bar or outside. It was my first time here to experience both places at once, but right now talk about CM Smokehouse. It was little warm outside so decided to sit in the bar. To order anything like food and drinks you need to scan a code on the table to open the Union website or app if installed. It's a cashless environment here, so all your items are placed in a cloud tab and use a credit card or Apple Pay for holding. Once you are ready to leave Bouldin Acres you close the tab, select tip, and then submit payment. I ordered the Smoked Chicken Wings (naked- no sauce) and side of ranch dressing. The bartenders were cool and made us feel very welcomed. The place had some fun activities to enjoy and lots of TVs showing sports channels. I noticed a few order directly from the bartender so that option still open. 6 wings were placed in front of me where they looked and smelled really good. They were cooked over firewood and could tell. The seasonings was killer including the last of the chicken. I place these wings in the upper echelon along two others in Austin who also has the same tremendous bbq flavor. There were many other items on their menu and have to give them a try knowing how the wings were.

Y'all. The Brisket Crunchwrap here has me asking, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??" because this thing is SO damn good. They take what makes the Taco Bell crunchwrap great and pushes the boundary even further to bring you this beautiful creation: chopped brisket, monterey jack cheese, corn tostada, lettuce, pico, pickled onions, crema, salsa verde on a 6" corn tortilla & wrapped in a 12" flour tortilla. Absolutely no complaints at all. The price is just a little on the higher end ($17), but they're using good quality brisket and this thing is phenomenal, so it's honestly not a bad price at all! I give em a 4.75/5!

Delicious food! I haven't tried the bbq plates, I will come back to do that but I came to help celebrate their one-year anniversary. Bouldin acres is a really dope spot where you don't need to pay to get in, they have huge patio areas, pickleball courts, food trucks, full-service bar, lawn games, dog-friendly patio, tons of TVs for sports, and heaters! You can sit at a table, and you can order from your phone via a QR code on the table, and they'll deliver everything to your table! smokehouse burger [18] whole hog cubano [15] seasonal cheesecake FYI - park in the bouldin creek parking garage next door if the parking lot is full Cannot wait to come back!

I read about this in TX Monthly and had to check it out. Really good non-traditional BBQ place inside Bouldin Acres. https://www.texasmonthly.com/restaurant/cm-smokehouse/ They don't have a BBQ plate on the menu and that's the point...try something different! I went with the off the menu Crunchwrap referenced in the TM article and it was delicious. Basically another form of a quesadilla, but with brisket and beef fat tortillas from Flores (look those up separately!), and green sauce on the side for dipping. They had a few takes on wings - chicken, ribs and ...cauliflower? I went with the Rib wings. The baby back rib "wings" are smoked then flash fried, covered in cheese and served with a side of sauce. I went with the White BBQ, just because it was different. The flash fry dries them out a bit compared to regular ribs, but remember - these are rib 'wings'. and they were tasty! The whole Bouldin Creek area has a cool vibe and looks like it would be a fun place to hang in the evening. Get there early and try the BBQ.

$18 for brisket crunch wrap and it was basically lettuce and cheese. Hardly any brisket at all, pretty big let down..

Noodle Brussels had great flavor however due to the inconsistency in size they were cooked to different softness. I preferred the smaller ones as they weren't crunchy when chewing. We were planning to try one of each taco but they had already run out of the pulled pork. They wrapped each taco individually in aluminum foil to keep it warm which was a nice touch, though they didn't bring out the red and green sauces until we asked for them. Brisket Taco ($9): The brisket was a bit dry but the slice was pretty thick and it paired well with the acidity of the pickles. Carne G Taco ($6): Super cheesy and heavy. The flavors weren't bad but I felt pretty gross after eating one and it left me really bloated.

Overall I'd recommend for the food but make sure you don't have anything planned right after!

When I tell you these ribs were a religious experience I am not embellishing. Full disclosure: I do not currently live in the south so I don't consider myself a BBQ connoisseur, but I did spend 4 years in the south and have sampled many BBQ joints in the meantime. Take this review as someone who really enjoys BBQ (and any slow cooked meat for that matter) but who could not list more than 10 BBQ restaurants they have eaten at in the last 5 years. So the beef ribs. Great texture, tender meat but still had a bite to it. Expertly seasoned so they were not wet with sauce but still moist. I would consider 1 beef rib a snack, 2 a small meal. I also tried the chopped brisket (brisket and burnt ends sitting in a soup of BBQ sauce). That was also delicious (and more reasonably priced), but I could have done with slightly less sauce. It really was like a soup and while the sauce was tasty, there was too much of it. I went later in the afternoon (around 2/2:30pm) and got their last two beef ribs so going earlier is better. You order at the open kitchen and then pay at the counter when your food is ready. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, you can take your food and sit at any of their tables of which they have many (this place is pretty big). Our group had pork ribs (2) with sides of beans, potato salad, coleslaw & mac n cheese, and a pulled pork sandwich served with pickle and raw onion on the side. When I…read morewent to go pick up my order, the cashier was graciously enough to inform me that their website is powered through DoorDash so if you order online, all the prices are unfortunately higher than their menu...so unfortunate to hear :( As for the food, I ordered the 3 Piece White Meat Chicken Plate, which came with 2 chicken breasts and 1 wing (they surprisingly give the full wing), and it comes with toast, baked beans, and cole slaw be default. You can exchange the default sides for some other options for a little extra charge. It was wonderful to see how generous the portion sizes were, including the sides! The chicken was perfectly friend and breaded in my opinion while keeping the white meat tender -- it was still like that even after I put the leftovers in the air fryer the next day. The baked beans were very flavorful and the sweetness complimented the savory chicken well. The cheer on top moment was the fact that the chicken was seasoned with a spicy seasoning so there was a bit of a subtle spicy aftertaste in each bite! I'll definitely be back again! :)

Dry chicken is already a rough start, but when the place builds its entire identity around fried…read morechicken, it becomes the whole story. The chicken we had was dry enough that the crust felt like the only source of moisture. Flavor-wise, it never really arrived -- just basic chicken, none of that deep, savory, robust profile you expect from a place that claims world‑famous status. It wasn't offensive, just forgettable, which is almost worse for a fried‑chicken joint. Service was fine -- not warm, not cold, just functional. But being out of sweet tea, a southern staple and practically part of the cultural contract of fried chicken, didn't help the mood. And honestly, even if they'd had it, the chicken wasn't good enough for sweet tea to save the experience. Overall, Gus's felt like a place coasting on reputation rather than execution. Dry chicken, muted flavor, and missing sweet tea make it hard to justify a return visit.

For fifteen people, the total cost was $425.69. This included delivery costs and taxes, but no tip. It consisted of three meats, two sides, and a dessert along with pickles, onions, bread, and BBQ sauce. There was also a set of utensils delivered, but plates were forgotten, but not a big deal. Brisket - This was definitely the best item eaten of the day. It was tender and juicy while adding the BBQ sauce giving that extra bite. The BBQ sauce was great regardless, a little bit of sweet and smoky flavor going on. Pulled Pork - This was another solid meat choice. I did not think it was as tender as the brisket, but it was still enjoyable especially with that BBQ sauce, which was key throughout the meal. Sausage - This was not bad. The snap on this threw me off a little, but it was not too bad. They were large links and had plenty of flavor. Gouda Mac & Cheese with Smoked Bacon - This was actually penne pasta with little pieces of the bacon. I actually preferred this pasta choice here. It really soaked up the cheese sauce. The sauce was not too over powerful and was just right. Beans with Smoked Bacon - These were not too bad. I thought they were a little liquidity, but the added bacon pieces definitely helped. Banana Pudding - This came in individual cups, which was nice. The pudding was thick with a little meringue or whipped cream present and a few wafer cookies on top. It was a satisfying ending to a very good meal. Will I go back? Yes.
