Chicken sandwich & Petites Patates / Rotisserie Potatoes
Lauren G.

I'll occasionally order this for lunch and it's delicious and the sandwich is the perfect lunch side. The chicken is extremely moist and flavorful. They add goat cheese and arugula on the sandwich as well which adds extra flavor. There is also a dressing you can get, I like to ask for it on the side so I can dip it there. The potato's are excellent as well but would prefer to have them a little bit more crispy. It's fast service - not a sit down restaurant. Would recommend for a delicious lunch order that's fast and easy.

Norwegian baguette

"Fast French" seems almost oxymoronic, yet this eatery inside the Fareground food hall (there's another Austin Rotisserie location on Lamar) offers an approximation thereof. You can get varying quantities of rotisserie chicken, soups, salads, and baguette sandwiches. I opted for the latter. At $14 with no sides, my Norwegian baguette (smoked salmon, goat cheese, arugula, tomato, vinaigrette, and roti sauce) was no bargain though it managed to be reasonably filling. The flavor was good though the sauce dripping through the sandwich made for a messier-than-expected meal. Sadly, the baguette was a letdown: chewy and lacking the softer inside. Très meh.

The Parisian Sandwich

We love austin rotisserie for dinner so I thought I'd give them a try for lunch. I ordered the Parisian sandwich and it was so yummy. The butter was such a nice touch and the Swiss was to die for. Would absolutely order again. I ordered via DoorDash and the quality was not compromised at all.

1/4 meal, with salad made at home

Ordered off of postmates because they had a BOGO deal on their chicken quarter meal. It made for such a hearty meal! Super simple, but the chicken was delicious and im still thinking about the potatoes roasted in drippings. The salsa verde and aioli were also incredible.

Kinda French Quesadilla

Have been wanting to check this spot out for a while. Today finally went for quick lunch. It's inside fairground which is a fun little lunch area with few food options. I ordered the French quesadilla and their famous potato. The size is decent not too big or too small, i felt like it was missing a little bit of sauce so maybe ask for extra sauce. The flavors were great. The potato is very buttery and flavorful and highly recommend it. The service was a bit on the slow side but it's because they only had 2 workers during busy lunch hour.

The Parisian Sandwich& Poulet Roti Baguette Sandwich
Love K.

Located in the Fairgrounds building, I was actually excited to try some baguettes when I noticed there was a French restaurant in Austin. I ordered The Parisian: a ham, Swiss, and butter baguettte sandwich which is called a Sandwich Mixte in Paris. It was simple, flavorful, but different. This spot toasts the bread and melts the butter whilst Paris provides you with a cold sandwich. It wasn't bad but I also did not care for melted Swiss cheese. Hub ordered the Poulet Roti and had nothing but good things to say. Did it take make back to Paris? Not quite. But it's definitely a nice spot worth checking out for lunch.

1/2 chicken to-go

I would like to give feedback on the delivery services. I placed an order for delivery and tried to call the phone number several times shortly after. I called about 5x with no answer. I wanted to ensure that my order included everything I needed such as to-go silverware. Since no one answered, I thought the place may have been closed. There was no change in my order status so I didn't know if it had been received or not. About 30 minutes later after trying to call again, I was going to contact GrubHub to get a refund and then I see that the order status changed to delivered. There was no to-go silverware. Also, the food was kind of cold. Please improve customer service in this area of delivery, as people who order delivery would like and deserve as close to the in-person restaurant experience as possible. And please include to-go silverware in the bags as well.

And for rolling their eyes, and their practiced Gallic condescension. Austin used to have a couple of decent French restaurant/bistros: Chez Nous was run by people from Marseilles, and Chamonix, and other parts of France. It didn't compare to French restaurants in France, but it was a decent value, and it was way better than nothing. Fabi & Rosi was probably more German than French, but with a good Euro mentality. Both Fabi & Rosi and Chez Nous died in the Covid plague. The best French resto in Austin by far was Aquarelle, which when it opened had a skilled chef in the kitchen from Aix-en-Provence. Austin probably wasn't ready for real French food at the time, and it quietly folded a few years ago. That brings us to Justine's: when it opened ca. 2009, it was a good value. The escargots were good, the onion soup was good, they served Delice de Bourgogne cheese, and the bread was good enough to mop up the garlic butter sauce. The other offerings were always meh, and the place was loud enough to remove the enamel from your teeth. I had skipped it for a few years until I got back from a trip to France, and wanted a nice French dinner. So I chose to return to Justine's. The crime and the pity of this place is that it is owned and operated by French people, and they know real French food, and they are deliberately abusing the public with their food, service, and prices. Americans generally associate French dining with arrogance, condescension. and laughable price points: if that's your expectation, then Welcome To Justine's! We ordered the radishes served with butter as an appetizer, which was not served with bread--which is sort of the whole point of eating radishes and butter. When we pointed this out, they charged us $5.00 for a half-baguette of bread to go with. Their bread! Their bread! Oo-la-la! Every French or Italian person knows that bread is firm and crusty on the outside and pillowy and delectable on the inside. What we got was the usual squishy, spongy stuff they sell at Walmart (not to cast aspersions on Walmart). THESE PEOPLE KNOW BETTER than to serve bread like this, and at this price! The rest of the meal was downhill--and EXPENSIVE, laughably overpriced, like the stereotypical snotty French dining experience. Before you eat here, do yourself the favor of reading the plethora of one-star reviews before submitting your own. And while we're here, the local food critics LOVE this place--has anybody writing these reviews ever been to France? Or Quebec? So many good restos in Austin have died, ill-served and neglected by the local 'food experts'. Let the buyer....wait: QUE L'ACHETEUR SOIT PRUDENT! THAT'S as close to France as you'll get with THIS joint.

Food: Came here specifically to try bouillabaisse since it's pretty much the only restaurant in Austin that makes it. Large portion of seafood and very filling from the bread! Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. My first 1 star experience was when my wife got food poisoning and when I went to inform the chef the next day he told me she was sick all night because she probably drank too much wine. Here is the reason for my second 1 star experience from this restaurant. Went today for a noon reservation on Mother's Day. Firstly, tons of kids here, no kids menu of any sort for Mother's Day. Their option was a grilled cheese with fries, which we were appreciate for, but why would you not think to have options for kids? Fruit cup, small burger, etc. they have these options during normal operations. Second, no one answers the phone here. I called 10+ times between 10am and 11:45am to request indoor seating. By default, they don't answer the phone nor do they at tiny grocer. One of the legs at the table they sat us at was so off balance that our drinks were spilling when someone would add pressure to the table. We had kid with us, so we ended up using three napkins in full cleaning up the spilled water. They missed putting in our order so, every table around us was served before us. We didn't get our food till complaining multiple times. Even after complaining tables around us continued to get their food first. To hold the table over I asked for fries to be delivered, something that should take minutes to prep, took another 15 minutes. Our food finally showed up at 1:15pm. We asked for to go boxes and even the boxes took 5 minutes. What is going on over here? I spent $20 at tiny grocer getting so many snacks for the kids because the food was so delayed. The entire table (minus the two toddlers) ended up leaving with zero food in our stomachs, but extremely frustrated. The manager comped our meal, which was very kind of him and he expressed tons of empathy. Classy move 100% This place is expensive and they just don't have it together. I don't like giving poor reviews, I rarely do it, but given this experience multiple times it's needed.
