Wonderful Sunday brunch spot with a middle eastern flare! We shared the scallion hummus which came with fresh pita & we added veggies. Probably the BEST hummus I've had in my life!! my friend had dumplings which she loved & I had a flatbread with lamb ragú on top. Drinks were refreshing for a hot Texas afternoon! The ambience inside was beautiful & our waitress was very attentive.

Really cute brunch spot inside the proper hotel. We were seated out on the patio. Drinks were strong. I ordered the beef pita with fries. Pita was huge and kind of hard to eat, I ended up having to eat with a fork and knife because it was so messy and the bottom of the pita was soggy and falling apart. Service was good and it's definitely a cute spot in Austin!

You're mostly paying for the ambience here. For the prices, the food was very uncreative. The drinks were cocktail prices but we'll drink quality. We ordered family style: a dip, main protein, grain, side vegetable, and salad. Between three people that was a bit too much.

The food at this place is delicious and well presented, I ordered the beef kebab and the Moroccan curry, the Moroccan curry is very savory and has bold strong flavors...exactly how I like my food. The beef kebab was soft and well seasoned, I like the lemon and citric condiments that came with it and pickled onions. The dessert was also delicious and made me moan a couple of times. Our server was Lucy, she was extremely helpful and polite. It seems as they were short staffed because they took longer than expected to offer me water or a drink. Once the food was out they were more attentive. The ambiance in this place is very intimate and dimmed with lights, you can barely read the menu but it's not a big deal. This place is in the first floor of the Proper hotel and the valet guys do a great job with being paperless and attentive. Will like to come back again.

Austin is a beautiful city, and The Peacock inside the Proper is such a vibe. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! We parked down the street and walked over. Otherwise the hotel has $60/day valet, which the restaurant can valet, making it $27 for the parking.

The Peacock is an absolutely beautiful establishment. I would go just for the ambiance alone. It's a little dark/moody - great for date night or intimate gathering with friends. We got the Red Pepper Chicken Thigh Kebab and the Beef Short Rib Hummus. The chicken was cooked well - seasoned and moist. I appreciated the pickled veggies on the side. I don't see that often, but it was super tasty and complimented the meal. Ironically, the stand out for me was the tzatziki. It was very good. Some of the best I've had in a while! The hummus was just okay in my opinion. Nevertheless, I would still recommend for people to try it. The presentation was beautiful and your taste buds may be different than mine. I went in looking forward to comparing their hummus with Aba's. (Aba takes the crown for me.) However, had I not had Aba's hummus, I know I would have enjoyed this one much more.

It's an intimate , elevated, dressy dinner experience. The Peacock is located inside of the proper hotel downtown Austin. I like to utilize their valet, It is $25 plus optional gratuity. Y'all already know, If there's a valet, I'm gonna valet! When you walk into the proper hotel there is an intimate bar setting just to the left. Both times I've been it has been pretty busy with no seating available, mostly standing room only. We were lucky to have a few seats available on Monday evening. If you keep walking past the bar you will end up at the restaurant. This is my second time here. Both dining experiences were large parties of 10 to 12 for a birthday dinner. The first time was a Saturday evening and this time was a Monday evening. Anytime you book a large party you are required to utilize their preset menu. It is $95 per person plus 20% gratuity. The set menu is four courses and I believe it changes on a regular basis and they keep the updated menu on their website. We started with the first course, duo of hummus dips with fresh pita, along with crudite. Our second course was grilled octopus and a simple greens salad. Our third course was a mixed grill kabob with lamb beef tenderloin and chicken thigh. There was also a wild grouper dish along with a side of heirloom carrots. For our fourth and final course it was dessert, a traditional baklava and a chocolate pistachio bar. I really enjoyed the hummus with the fresh pita bread. I was pretty much full after eating that. The salad has a lot of flavor with plenty of avocado on the bottom. The heirloom carrots were one of my favorites! So delicious, So much flavor. I only had a piece of the beef kabob and it was tender and flavorful. The dessert was way too sweet so I wasn't able to eat it. For the most part our server was attentive and the food mostly came out in a timely manner until it was time for the main course. We did wait and extended amount of time for that. But I really did not mind because I needed time to digest all of the other courses that we had already had. We were a little shocked when the check came and there were several additional fees. There was a 4% "Wellness Charge" In addition to 20% gratuity, as well as a drink tax and a food tax. My friend's mom was curious about the charge and asked the server, He seemed to be nervous in his response and he said the charge is to help pay for employee health benefits. She told the server that there needed to be more up front transparency in additional charges to be expected for large parties. And left it at that. Moral of the story, valet and....... If you're going to book a large party with the preset menu, I would call ahead and ask what additional fees and charges will be on top of the menu charge. Just so you don't have sticker shock when the check arrives. Interestingly, while I was picking up my car from valet I received a call from an unknown number. I answered and it was the manager of the restaurant. He apologized for us being charged the wellness charge on our check and said that he was going to refund us all for that charge. I never received a refund and I'm not sure how he even got my phone number to call me. Any who, If I do return to the Peacock it will not be for a large party experience. Large party preset menu pricing: Breakfast-- $77 per person Brunch-- $87 per person Lunch-- $65 per person Dinner-- $95 per person or $177 per person

The peacock is a nice and quiet place in downtown Austin. It has dimmer lighting creating a more cozy vibe. We came for dinner. The waiter was super nice and gave us a lot of time to look over the menu and decide what to order. The pita was nice and soft in the inside but more solid/crisp on the outside. It pairs really well with the beef hummus. The short rib was rich and tender while the hummus was a nice balance of flavor. I also had the spiced lamb kefta. It was good overall and spiced well but a little dry for my taste.

We went to the Austin Proper Hotel as recommended for drinks. We ordered appetizers like dumplings and octopus. Both are palatable but can be buttery for some people. I did like it though! Service is quick and the staff are nice. The restaurant's interior and set up is lovely. Ambiance is intimate and ideal for date nights. We got ourselves drinks consisting of one cocktail and old fashion (but were not able to take pictures). The drinks are just okay though.

Service was slow at times during our dining experience. Drink: Espresso Martini was delicious! Appetizer: The Manti Dumplings are a must try! It had a little bit of heat to it but not too overpowering. The Lamb Fatayer was also good from what I was told, although I did not try it. Meal: The Wild Grouper was spectacular, especially when paired with the saffron rice. Would highly recommend. Dessert: Do not snooze on the Warm Sticky Toffee Date Pudding. It was mouth watering! I could have eaten two of those on my own.

Well, now I can add this to a favorite brunch spot. I already love this place but their brunch was so good. My friends and I split everything and it was all so good. All the carbs. The banana bread was so subtle. The almond croissants (which were subbed in by the restaurant) were mind blowing. The Ricotta toast wasn't quite toast but so lush and so good. The pancakes were my least favorite but I still enjoyed them. Service is always good and so kind. The restaurant is beautiful, always.

My wife and I had an amazing experience here. The food was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Nice options for drink cocktails. It's a spacious venue with an outdoor patio, indoor seating and a bar area. Great ambiance as well.

Been here a couple times for brunch and it's always a win. The food's great, the service is friendly, and the ambiance is on point--cool decor, relaxed vibe, and just a nice place to hang out for a couple hours. Tried the shallot hummus--it was okay, nothing special. The khachapuri and manti dumplings were both really solid and full of flavor. The chicken kebab was the standout--perfectly grilled and super flavorful. The charred king trumpet mushrooms were also really good. Only dish that missed a bit was the lamb kefta--just a little dry for my taste. Overall, awesome mediterranean spot for brunch. Great food, great drinks, and a space you actually want to spend time in.

Parking was a little hard to come by in the neighborhood, but not impossible. I ended up waiting a little over 1.5 hrs after checking in with the hostess and we were able to snag the very last plate of paella! I've had my fair share of paella and I'm in no way a paella snob, but this one missed the mark for me. 1) the portion did not reflect the $34 price tag. 2) portions of the rice were undercooked and very hard. 3) it was way too salty. It did come with a mix of mussels, clams, shrimp, and sausage, with a side of toast, but I can't justify this part of the experience. We also ordered calamari and croquetas. The croqueta was delicious and flavorful, but the calamari didn't stand out. It tastes like any other calamari. The ambiance itself is cute and the service was great, but the food was lacking.

From the moment we sat down, the service set a phenomenal tone for the meal. Our server, Avery, genuinely took the time to ask what we were interested in, thoughtfully guiding us through the menu with recommendations that were, frankly, unbelievable. Every single suggestion was spot-on. As for the food, every dish that arrived at the table was a masterpiece: The Brunch Plate: A beautifully classic, elevated breakfast. The sunny-side-up eggs were cooked to absolute perfection, seasoned with a light touch of pepper and spice. Paired with perfectly golden, crispy hash browns, savory sausage, thick-cut toast, and a rich fruit compote, it was a flawless, hearty start to the day. The Beet & Citrus Salad: A vibrant, refreshing standout. The earthy depth of roasted red and golden beets paired wonderfully with bright, juicy citrus segments, creamy crumbled cheese, and fresh greens. It was beautifully balanced, incredibly fresh, and a perfect contrast of textures. The Pesto Pasta: Absolutely spectacular. The pasta shape held onto the rich, flavorful pesto sauce perfectly, which was tossed with fresh spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and tender chicken, all finished with a generous dusting of parmesan. It was savory, comforting, and packed with bright, fresh flavor. Between the flawless, attentive service and the phenomenal quality of the kitchen, they made this Father's Day incredibly memorable. We will absolutely be back!

Rosé Gosé (note accents) is in an unassuming Airport Blvd location (right next to Jewboy Burgers, an Austin favorite). It is run by a couple from Belarus that came here right after Covid to open up a restaurant, with a sister in Minsk. Defying expectations, the menu is not Balkan at all. If anything, there is a strong Asian influence with poke bowls and a lot of seafood. But the menu also offers beef tartare on their raw bar menu, as well as a steak offering and grilled chicken. It's a diverse and adventurous menu, all the way from small plates to hefty mains and vegetable sides. For the dessert, try the pavlova, a meringue confection stuffed with coconut mousse and topped with lime sorbet and a grapefruit slice sidecar. Everything is superbly presented, and unquestionably fresh and healthy without veering into twigs and berries territory. The cocktail menu is also playful, with a lot of nontraditional glassware and slight spins on popular drinks; their version of a Paloma uses prosecco instead of a splash of soda. The servers are all dressed in rosé jumpsuits and very attentive. The space is amiable and elegant without being pretentious. The table spacing is a little close, so that conversations carry between guests. The table setting has some nice touches, like the little wooden bench that holds your fork and knife off the table. In European fashion, water can be asked for but it won't be served with ice. Plan on taking your time and enjoying course after course.

Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. I ordered a mimosa that had high quality ingredients and was perfectly balanced...so smooth. We were also pleased with the drinks. This was the first time at Rosé Gosé, however, it definitely will not be the last.
