This beautiful restaurant was in our hotel and really busy on Friday & Saturday evening. We went on a Sunday and enjoyed our laid back dinner with good service. The beef & piquillo had lots of peppers on it. The croquetas were delicious as was the salad. Cheesecake was the best!!

Restaurant week number three. Loved the pre fixe menu that gives ample options. Glad to see an Albariño on the wine list. Fairly quiet on a Sunday early evening, with inside and outside seating available. It took a bit for the first bites to come out which were two of each for the bruschetta type bites. All were delicious and above what I anticipated. The mushroom one was a bit odd just due to the difficultly to bite through the mushrooms. The potatoes were amazing along with the tomato salad. The star of meal was the snapper. OMG I could have picked up the plate and licked it dry. Only area for improvement would be to have the whole skin crispy. The edges were nice an crisp however the middle of the skin was cooked, but not crisp. Otherwise the flavor was amazing. Will def be back to try other things, Sunday is all day happy hour which is right up my alley.

I was staying at the hotel this place is attached to but the foodie in me is glad to come here. The food is pretty to look at but I think the small bites were more of my favorite than the actual burger. I mean, I liked the burger but it wasn't anything too special to me. However, the potatoes were good and the presentation was on point. The Piquillo and cheese tosta was pretty good as well as the ham and anchovies. Yes, anchovies. The croquettes were ok but the ham was good (and extra cost). Overall, I'd come back for the small bites and the super friendly staff and bartenders. It was a slow night and kept me involved as they walked by. I appreciated that. Also, they dont tend to have any hot sauce around. They had to scramble in the back for some Sriracha. I appreciated that

I came here with some friends for tapas and it was such a great experience! The place itself is really pretty, with a cool vibe and the area around is super nice too. We sat outside since it was too loud inside. The food was honestly delicious. First we got the tinto de verano and was so refreshing and every tapa we ordered was super tasty. The tortilla española was one of my favorites, the sashimi was fresh and the ham croquettes were incredible and finally we got the patatas bravas that were perfectly done and spicy. In general everything we tried was really good! Service was also good. We were helped by a guy who was still in training, but he did such a great job and made us feel very taken care of. Overall, this is a spot I would totally recommend if you want tasty tapas, great drinks and a fun atmosphere.

We stopped in on a Wednesday night and really enjoyed everything about the meal. The majority of the items on the menu are gluten-free, which is a plus for me. The inside of the restaurant is comfortable, and when we went not overly crowded. What stood out most was the service and the food. My only criticism would be slightly larger portion sizes for some of the shareable stuff given the price points. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. It had a great vibe and since it's co-located in a hotel, they had valet parking, which was nice.

Good tapas place for its sunday all day happy hour. All the drinks and tapas ordered were pretty good. The calamari was surprisingly better than I thought with the additions on the plate. The burger was also a pretty preim burger alone. I may want to come back and try the main dishes like the octopus and steak (which look a but pricier). Overall the restaurant was quite loud. When I walked in and saw a DJ I knew everyone was going to have to speak up. Luckily they put us in the chainmail room which was still loud but more bearable. If I could sit outside when it's less hot, I would. Our server was nice and informative, though she did forget to put in quite a few of our orders and one person got charged for an item that never came. It was corrected but ....ya know. Since we had a big party we were given complementary watermelon Ice cream thing. Which was nice cause I wasnt feeling much of the tapas desserts. Overall the happy hour was fair priced at over $100 for 2 people with drinks. The value may be more questionable if it didn't have the happy hour prices where going for the main course or ordering multiple burgers and all burgers would make me sense to satisfy a full meal.

I was in between giving it 3 stars and 4 stars, let's say my actual star will be 3.5/5. I might return someday and update (hopefully with a better experience) but this is what we have for now. I discovered this restaurant while searching for a place to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Even though we didn't go with this place, we decided to give it a try on a different occasion with the friends. I will have to start with the service because this was the biggest downside, unfortunately. Although our sever was objectively polite and checked on the table here and there, half of our tables order was missing (which was likely around 4-5 items total). In our side, burgers arrived before the rest of the appetizers/tapas arrived. The server gave as an excuse that it's her first day back after a while. We got a complimentary ice cream. For the price point of this restaurant, it would make sense to know a server's name (she didn't introduce herself) and have a manager stop by the table and at least acknowledge what happened. The food itself was fine. Burger was good, it was reasonably priced on the happy hour. I like the pickled pepper addition to it. Fried calamari was my favorites out of all we got. It was rich on flavor and crispy, the squid ink croquetas was great addition to it. We also had Croquetas de Bacalao which I could have too much but my boyfriend enjoyed quite a lot. Scarlet Crab Dip was a good light started but slightly on a bland side. But I actually enjoyed it a lot too. As for the drinks, we had three cocktails: Sandiarita was very flavorful and spicy -- essentially a spicy watermelon margarita Don Quixote was similar to Manhattan, nice and boozy, yet very smooth. Spanish G&T was light and refreshing. I can note that the cocktails were not very strong, I am very light weight when it comes to drinks, it hits me right the way usually, and these did almost nothing to me. The place itself was VERY loud. We requested to be seated away from the speakers since they had a DJ that evening, but it was still very loud. I don't know if other days ambiance is more intimate, but Sunday is likely not a good day if you're trying to have a relaxing and calm dinner.

Came here for my birthday with my lovely wife. Had a great meal with good service from Nate. DJ had the place vibin to match the cool decor. We enjoyed everything but the standouts for us were the seared fish, the tuna crudo (seared tuna on a delicious green broth), the quail egg and mushroom toast, the patatas bravas (that pepper drizzle!), and the Bayonne ham and cheese toast. I greatly appreciated the complementary ham toast, to celebrate my birthday. The seared fish (rockfish) was really really good. Don't miss! The wagyu ribeye was cooked perfect, but it needed a pinch more salt. The calamari was good but a little chewy. The squid ink fritters that came with it were nice. The chorizo and tomato toast was mostly tomato flavor, not bad but not as good as the others. The Gilda (an anchovy filet with some vegetable garnishes) was nice but not life changing. The Spanish gin and tonic, was both delicious and good looking. If you have never tried a kalimotxo (red wine and coke, pronounced "calimocho"), and you like sangria, it's worth a try. We were able to find free parking on the street a block or two down from the restaurant. We enjoyed a cocktail across the street at Whisler's for dessert. Unfortunately, we ate too much to enjoy the Basque cheesecake that looks so delicious. Will come back with a larger group to try more things and enjoy the family style vibes

Amazing happy hour!! Everyday from 3/5! We stopped by with a friend and our dogs and sat outside around 4ish. We ordered the tomato salad, the patatas bravas, the croquetas de jamón, the burger and our friend also ordered the balacao croquetas! After 5 they do regular dinner menu, we also ordered pan con tomate and finished with the cheesecake which was AMAZING. We loved everything - great flavors and pretty good deal for happy hour prices! Also got the sandiarita - watermelon marg and my husband got the Spanish g/t - watermelon definitely more sweet and chili flavor and the Spanish g/t more classic lighter option Service was perfect, everything came out quick and hot! Super beautiful interior decor and plenty of bathrooms! Street parking is best for us but there is valet option too. Dog friendly!

Best service ever! Nate recommendations DELUXE!

wow! We looked into happy hours at this fabulous, fabulous place! Yeah! Nate was perfect in recommending food and guiding our ordering wine and not over-ordering food. Portion sizes are generous! Wonderful experience.

Great spot for happy hour! Love their Kalimotxo drinks with red and white wine. I could eat 50 of their patatas bravas appetizers. Their burger is also great. Inside is beautifully decorated and service is always kind and helpful. I will say the happy hour prices may look cheaper but for some of the apps you are getting less food than the normal order.

This is a Spanish tapas styled restaurant and I was excited to try it. The interior is so beautiful! Even the bathrooms are fancy! This looks like a place where you would need a reservation. We did make a reservation but there were plenty of open seats. I've eaten in Spain before and was really surprised that Kalimotxo did not have paella, which is the traditional Spanish rice dish. I feel like it's such a classic that it should not be missed and in fact, the only rice dish they had was a vegetarian dish, Bomba rice and mushrooms. I have nothing against vegetarian dishes but I usually prefer dishes with meat. We did end up getting it and while the mushrooms were flavorful, the rice really soaked up the sauce causing the overall dish to be salty. If you eat this with chips, it would be a nice balance. Tapas are meant to be shared dishes and that's exactly what we did! We ordered Boquerones en Vinagre, Pork milanesa, Croquetas de Jamón, and Bayonne Ham & Anchovy. The croquetas were so good! I would get this again. Probably skip on the pork milanesa, which we actually didn't know what it was. The egg is beaten and poured on top of what appears to be fried pork. This is okay except I feel like it's such a basic dish and would much rather get more of the tasty, smaller bites. You order by writing the number of each dish you want on the menu. You could have tally marks but personally I feel that could be confusing....two tallies could look like the number 11 but definitely confirm with your server! Street or valet parking.

Authentic, high end Spanish fare in a stylish environment. We came here for New Year's Eve. I may be slightly biased because I did not know dinner would be at 10:30 PM. So, I was super full by the time I came here after pre-dinner, lol. Not the best pre-cursor to a giant, 6 course prie fixe meal ($95). I guess I will break down the meal by each course. Primera: Four bite sized items. These contained lots of exotic ingredients (pickled anchovy, crab, roe, beef tartare, Jamon with croqueta). I had bites of each and they were yummy. Segundo: Tuna Crudo - I had a bite of this. Seemed fine. Charcuterie - I had nibbles of each and the best item was definitely the crispy baguette with the tomato butter. Also had 3 types of cheeses and 3 types of meats. Cuarto: Paella - I love paella, and this one was disappointing :( Slightly bland and very mushy. Quinto: Texas Prime Steak - Delicious, seemed to be cooked rare, my favorite. The roasted mushrooms were flavorful heaven. Sexto: Dessert - Basque cheesecake ice cream with sherry - wasn't the biggest fan. Really salty - I love a good sweet and salty combination but this one aired on being overwhelming. It was an huge amount of food for the amount we paid - I just wish we had been hungry, lol. Staff was attentive, but had weird vibes - perhaps of all the uneaten food they had to bust from our table, lol.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. After finally being greeted, we were told our section wasn't ready, the other party hadn't left yet. The server / hostess seemed frazzled and kept running around trying to get us a section and talking to people about leaving. We stood there waiting for about 30 minutes. Then we were finally seated in a section barely big enough for 6, we were crammed in like sardines, sweatin. We asked the parties next to us if they could push over a bit so we all could fit, luckily they were friendly and accommodating. We were greeted not too long after being seated, Our order was taken by the first server, It took about 30 minutes for drinks and food to start to come out. The birthday girl ordered a hookah and it took an hour and a half for it to come out. I felt bad for the birthday girl because she was really excited about being there for the first time with all of us and the experience was subpar at best. I will say, the best part was the DJ, HellaYella. And the jerk lamb chops. Also, If and I mean if, We ever go back, We will not reserve a section like that and we will get our drinks at the front bar and sit out on the nice patio. We'll see.

I went to Busy Signal for their UT/UGA game football watch party. If you don't like outdoor seating or standing, I wouldn't recommend going to a watch party unless you reserve an indoor table via Eventbrite. They also offered $1 wings & $5 drinks, which were delicious! However, the server told me they only offered this special for the 1st half of the game. After 30 minutes of waiting, my server told me that everyone & their momma ordered a bunch of stuff at the same time since the food/drink special was for a short period of time, which resulted in extremely long wait times for food. The Eventbrite page didn't mention that the special was only for the 1st half of the game, which led me to believe that management pulled this not-so-bright idea out of his anus at the last minute. I waited over an hour for my food & when it finally arrived, it was not the flavor I asked for. The servers are very kind & had a great attitude despite the chaos. The food at this place is always really good. But the overall experience and timely delivery of food during their football watch party left a lot to be desired. I'm going to give this place one more try because you can't beat $1 wings (that actually are very flavorful) & $5 drinks on GameDay. However, I wouldn't go on an empty stomach. I also hope they expand their special for the whole entire game like it was the last time I went for UT/Oklahoma. ***UPDATE*** I returned for UT/Texas A&M. I paid $60 to reserve a table indoors. The service was a lot better! I really enjoyed DJ Hella Yella playing music during commercials. The overall vibe was great this time around. My initial review gave this place 2 stars, but now I'm giving it 3 stars.

It's been around since 2018 so most folks know where it is by now. Heads up, you no longer have to use their app to make a reservation. Simply do so through Open Table and that's when you'll get the entry code. So glad it's no longer a members-only spot as well. The basement location gives anything but a basement vibe. When you enter, you'll see the infamous black paint on white walls mural but then you're transformed into something more. An elegant and elevated high-end speakeasy that transports you to what life in speakeasy settings must have felt like in the days of olde. Who doesn't love being greeted by a tasteful, giant, fake bear with welcome cocktails? The low-lit space brings a feeling of warmth, secrecy, romance, and mystery. You absolutely get the feeling you're in a special and secret hideaway space. From the refined wallpaper to hand blown glass lighting fixtures to the lush and velvety sofa seating, you are truly immersed in the vibe. It brings a feeling of noir and romance with even sexier drinks. Being seated in one of the nooks is my favorite and just really adds to the overall experience. If you follow my reviews then you know I often refer to excellent cocktails as liquid works of art. And, in this case, it's like the most exclusive, high-end art gallery of liquid masterpieces. Cocktails with branded cubes, top tier alcohol and other ingredients from around the globe make for a worthy piece of drinkable art. It doesn't end with cocktails! The mocktails are equally as beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend the cocktails and mocktails. Service is exactly what you would expect and want it to be in this environment. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than average but you're paying for art, atmosphere, and experience that is beyond wonderful.
