    I have eaten at Birdie's a number of times over the years and it is consistently very good! The most recent time was for Aiello's Italian night. We made a reservation ahead for a celebration. At $79 pp, one gets a 7 course meal with the possibility of additional items and/or drinks. One can reserve ahead or wait in line and order at the counter (I recommend a rese). There were also many children/families there the night we went. They also gave us a complementary 1/2 glass of champagne for our celebration and continued to ask if we wanted more or other drinks. Each of the servers presented and described each dish with detail. Simple and classic dishes- nothing too fancy or expensive in ingredients but certainly cooked perfectly! The course menu began with olives, then, essentially a breadstick with prosciutto. Next course was pasta e fagioli (bean soup) followed by a choice of salad (we had caesar). The highlight was the homemade pasta with vodka sauce (excellent flavor) and for the table were Nonna's meatballs (a tad sweet) cooked perfectly. The meal ended with a choice of tiramisu or a hot fudge sundae- we shared each. The add ons included mozz sticks, garlic bread or chicken parm (none were necessary)- we added the mozz sticks and it was too much food for us. The service staff was overly attentive and very nice. Parking is along the street and could be a couple blocks away on a busy night.

    My fiancé and I have been meaning to check out Birdie's for over a year, but we were always hesitant because of the long lines. This weekend, with his parents in town, we finally made it happen -- and we're so glad we did! We arrived about 15 minutes before they opened at 5pm on a Friday and found about six parties already ahead of us in line. Thankfully, they had big picnic umbrellas set up outside to provide some much-needed shade while we waited. Parking can be tight (their lot only has a few spots, and they were already taken) but we found easy, free street parking in the neighborhood. Once they opened the doors, they started letting people in gradually. You order at the counter before being seated, and because the menu is prix fixe, it's a streamlined process, mostly just choosing between meat or fish. They take their time with orders to help the kitchen keep pace, but we were able to grab drinks while we waited, which made the process relaxed and pleasant. We were seated in the outdoor dining area about 20 minutes after they opened. While we were initially worried about being outside in the Texas heat, the space is well-designed: fully enclosed, with huge industrial fans and standing AC units that kept it cool and breezy. It was super comfortable and we had no complaints at all being sat there! The staff here really impressed us. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, and even the service manager stopped by a couple of times to check in. He even brought by some sparkling wine on the house to celebrate our recent engagement, which was such a nice touch! The whole team clearly cares about the guest experience, and it shows. As for the food -- it was excellent. Every course was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. All in all, Birdie's lived up to the hype. It's casual but elevated, approachable yet special. We'll definitely be back!

    It was good, but not great! I will say I am shocked that they were in the Michelin guide. The wait in line wasn't bad when we went on a Thursday around 6pm. My wine was great and the starters were delightful! The entree itself I had really high hopes for. It was good, but felt it wasn't worth the price. I got the sausage and my bf got the beef which was basically a pot roast which was an extra cost. The staff were super friendly though and the atmosphere was very cute!

    The food is OK. My favorite is sweet potato. They are good at vegetable dishes. The main problem is first come first serve. And it's even Michelin guide restaurant. It's very silly to wait outside in cold winter and hot summer outside. There are a lot of mosquitoes outside. For many bites. Maybe they want to create a scene to have a long line waiting outside. It's not a nightclub, not necessary to make a scene. It will never become a fancy restaurant without reservation service. I saw more and more people left while waiting. People hate waiting. I will not go back again because I don't want to wait outside and don't want to get bitten by mosquitoes.

    This neighborhood spot deserves the accolades. I really love their service style - upscale counter-service with fine-dining tableside assistance for drink ordering. The shared plates work well for diners that share tastes. The host immediately recommended we each get one of the mains so we could try both, which we did. We thought the pasta and soup were slightly oversalted, but the divine butternut squash soup with brown butter and sage made up for it. Every dish balanced very well and I appreciated that they allowed us to enjoy the meal for longer than many Austin restaurants let you linger. The icecream (with a candle - they recognized we had a birthday!) was the perfect end to the meal.

    This experience was a bit confusing. Went there with friends on a weekday dinner when I visited Austin and was told that this is a Michelin restaurant. We were nicely greeted by the front desk who introduced the menu to us. With 100+ pp pricing level, I was expecting a fine dining experience. The game rule here is that customers need to stand by the frond desk, make the order, pay everything, get a table sign, go around and find somewhere to sit and place the sign on the table, wait for server to come with drink and food. I did not really agree with the fact that we had to pay tips before receiving any service. The food was marketed as seasonal menu and the ingredients were sourced carefully and locally. They were not bad, but not impressive either. The sauce in salad and pasta were nicely balanced and creative, but the rest of the food were just okay. Again, given the pricing, I would expect more. The wine list was very comprehensive. It would be great if they offer wine pairing to supplement the pre-fixe menu.

    We decided to come here for dinner because it is a short walk from my friend's place in Austin. When we arrived around 7:45 last night, there were only a few people in line. We did have to wait for about 15-20 minutes to order. Each group took a while to order. You order drinks and your full meal at the counter, so if you want to sample any wines, talk through the menu, etc., it can take a while. Not sure if I really like this system, but that's how it is. The person at the counter recommended we order 6 dishes for three people. We weren't super hungry, so we ordered five dishes and some glasses of wine. We ordered French bread with Jasper Hill Willoughby cheese, a strawberry fennel salad, casarecce with heirloom tomatoes, rockfish with a creamy mushroom and leek sauce, and an olive oil cake. Prices range from $12-$36. I believe the menu changes frequently. The bread and cheese came out first and was pretty disappointing . The portion was tiny and I thought the texture of the bread was tough. The dinner went uphill from there. The salad was tasty, the pasta dish was lovely, the sea bass entree was fantastic, and the olive oil cake was good too. I would order any pasta on the menu again, as well as the fish. Overall, it was a nice meal. The patio has a relaxed and romantic feel. We spent about $85 per person, which included tax, tip, and a couple glasses of wine each. Birdie's is a nice, relaxed restaurant for an upscale dinner with friends or a date night. I would come here again if I'm back in Austin!

    We arrived on a Saturday night prepared to wait given they don't take reservations. While standing in line they let you order drinks to pass time. We arrived at 6:15 and ordered at 6:50. Our first dish promptly came out at 7. Overall, I would say the flavors were very creative and unique. It reminded me of odd duck's menu. We cleared all of our plates! However, I will say I wasn't a fan of some of the flavors due to personal preference, specifically the salad and deviled eggs. The pasta was cooked perfectly but I had a hard time enjoying with the field peas that were the texture of beans. The one dish I really enjoyed and wish I had more of was the chilled potato and leek soup! We paid $88 (with tip) for 2 people splitting 2 small plates and 2 entrees (I think the soup was an entree) I can't remember. We also didn't order drinks or dessert. All in all, I will be back but definitely when they change their menu to flavors I think I might like more.

    Decided to try this restaurant on a recommendation from our friends. As I read the other reviews, the pros and cons seem to align well with mine: PROS - the food was yummy. We had the steak and fish dish which were both cooked to perfection. The fish dish especially was delicious. We also tried the deviled eggs which were super standard and underwhelming. - the service was really good for us. CONS - the 45 mins wait in line on a random weekday, ordering at the counter and then again, waiting at your table. Be ready to dedicate time. - the prices are high for what you get. The soft serve once fees and tip was added was $17. - the music was so loud we could barely talk, making the already unimpressive ambiance worse. Would I go back? Maybe. It would have to be at an off time when I think the line won't be brutal cause the waits were a lot with so many other options around. Glad we tried it but may be a one and done for us!

    What a delightful feast we had here a couple of nights ago. See the pictures for more details. I think the standouts for me were the beef tartare, the tortiglioni, and the snapper but everything was delicious. Started with a chilled red and moved to the Pinot. I like the minimalist decor, the service is great and the food and wine are the true stars here.

    Didn't get too many pictures but we were a larger group so we did a set menu. The food was so delicious and everyone at the table was so filled. The wine, the vibes and overall everything was great! The service was awesome everyone was so friendly and helpful with such a large group.

    Once you reach the counter to order, things flow quite efficiently, comfortably and smoothly. The menu is split into three parts, all dishes focusing on the season especially with vegetables. For two people, I like to get one of each. Each dish was flavorful and very comforting, perfect for a chilly night. Once seated, you can order drinks and dessert from the table. The wines and menu rotate. There has always been an orange/skin contact option or two when I have been! The restaurant has a handful of indoor tables with a large back patio, covered for winter. Parking is limited, deffo recommend biking, walking, or ride sharing.

    I have been meaning to visit Birdie's for years and finally took the plunge on a late Thursday evening. The only disappointing aspect of our visit to Birdie's was that I had not tried it out sooner! Who knew someone could make carrots so tasty, but the roasted carrots with ramp and pine nut pesto at Birdies could have been a main course on their own. The spaghetti with crème fraîche, sun gold tomatoes, Parmesan, and basil, and the minute steak with smoked cabbage and a sauce of beef and red wine were perfectly cooked and rounded out our meal nicely. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and homemade. I always love when restaurants have you order at a counter and then pick where you want to sit. It is refreshing to see this seating style at an upscale restaurant such as Birdie's. Since their menu changes often, I can't wait to see what else they have in store for us this summer.

The artwork is ever-changing (every couple of months or so) and the cocktail menu changes right long with it. Note: artwork is available for purchase. What an absolutely glorious way of combining different mediums (liquid art vs physical art). The craft cocktails & mocktails are the epitome of works of art. I've had great cocktails and mocktails elsewhere but honestly I'd be hard pressed to find anything on this level. You're taken into an entirely different realm just watching the genius of mixologists. It's mesmerizing watching them hone their craft. In the back of the lounge is an enclave of eclectic art and other pieces that then leads you to Konbini, the sushi bar. It's an industrial, warehouse vibe with a long counter that screams hip, Tokyo inspired, late-night eatery. Service is impeccable and welcoming at this cosmopolitan venue. While I enjoyed the bok choy I felt it could have a better accompaniment. We also got the salmon which had a smaller portion, but was unique in its taste and execution. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot, but do be aware that the menu is small when ordering ala carte but each item is executed thoroughly well!

The staff can always help point you in the right direction and are super nice. Some of the glasses can be $16+, which is why I also love that they have the "house" selections for under $10, which are also always good. We've even been part of the LoLo wine club which id recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about wine, and you get a cute tote bag, a win win. They have a very limited food menu and so the only thing that appealed to both of us was the baguette and Spanish olive oil. The olive oil was flavorful and spicy, it was fresh and flavorful and GOOD. The majority of olive oils I've had as an accompaniment to bread has been just...moist. Staff was friendly and approachable, and nowhere near snooty or pretentious.
