We recommend visiting Tumble 22 during happy hour on Mon-Fri between 4-6 PM for the best value. This Texas chicken joint serves spicy fried chicken and tasty sides at a reasonable price. Our favorites were the Lil' O.G. and the broccoli salad. Both the sandwich and tenders included sides, which we appreciated. We recommend clearly noting on the menu that entrees include sides to make ordering easier and faster. There is a small parking lot and a large outdoor seating area.

Rating: 4.1/5 [delivery] Wow, I forgot how massive these sandwiches are. They are definitely worth the price! Korean BBQ O.G. ($14.75): We chose the Dang Hot heat level, but we didn't really feel any heat. The burger was very saucy, so it was a bit messy to eat, but it was full of flavor. It was better than the first time we had it. Vodka Chicken Parm ($15.95) + Szechuan Fries ($4.15): We picked the Dang Hot heat level and it was the same as the Korean BBQ O.G. I thought the ciabatta bun would be hard, but it was actually soft. The flavors were delicious, and I loved the fresh arugula. The chicken stayed crispy and juicy even with all the sauces. The fries barely had any sauce and were pretty soggy so we had to air-fried them. The pulled hot chicken wasn't dry this time which was nice. However, we thought the Szechuan fries were much better the first time around. Two Deviled Eggs ($4.80): These were also better the first time we tried them. This time, they were just okay.

So Austin and I love it! Started as a food truck in Austin and now has a few locations. I frequented this Lake Austin location in high school while it was inhabited by the iconic Magnolia Cafe since the 70s and part of me didn't want to embrace the change but after getting the OG chicken sandwich, I'm a convert. It came with a VERY big, crispy and juicy chicken breast. They also have a smaller size if you're not that hungry. There are 6 spice levels and I got it "mo-hot" (3rd spice level) and it was spicy enough for me (and I love spice)! I ordered to go but this looks like a nice local hangout spot to grab some fried chicken and drinks. The gentleman at the to-go counter was very friendly. You can park and text the number on the sign and they'll bring it out to you though it was just as easy to go in and grab the order. The Sichuan fries looked good. I think I'll try the Korean sandwich next time.

QUALITY CHICKEN COOKED TO PERFECTION. GREAT PORTION SIZE (a real "Bang for your buck") and......Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! What more can I say?! Definitely our new "go to" spot for a casual dining, family friendly, experience. 6 stars from this mom of 3. 9 year old Jay Jay says "Way to go. He'll be back, because the skin was crispy and the chicken was moist". Special shout out to Gabriel the manager for his kind hospitality. Big hugs Y'all.....and see you soon. Finally, the location is great. It's just a 2 minute drive from our house in Westlake, and another 2 minutes to downtown. They have ample of "free parking" outside and if you sit on the patio, you can watch your car/vehicle. Safe area and clean atmosphere. A MUST GO TO IF YOU'RE COMING TO AUSTIN AND WANT A GREAT MEAL FAST. Thanks Tumble 22.......We'll be back!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Southern Chicken Sandwich - Mo Hot

I love coming to this location, their sandwiches are so good! Staff is always so friendly and considering how busy they always are we always get seated super quickly. The southern chicken sandwich offers a variety of spicy level options, Mo' Hot is my personal favorite if you like a kick of spicyness. The Mac and Cheese actually grew in me, at first it was alright but over time it just hit! The Lil OG sandwich is a good basic sandwich, not spicy at all. Overall great place to eat with friends and family, definitely recommend:)

This was the first meal we had after landing. I was referred to Tumble22 by a friend who was recommended by their friend. Anyways, walking into the restaurant, it's a smaller indoor place with a large patio for eating. I could imagine it being really nice when the weather gets cooler, but at 92 degrees outside, it was not for us. That being said, it's got a rustic/quirky design language and decor inside, with images of chickens and barn-esque things. Sitting down, we got to ordering. An OG sandwich and 3 boneless thighs for us, along with some sides: the broccoli salad and some ranch beans. The food came out really quickly, and it was fresh as hell. Shoutout to our server for bearing with us, because us foreigners can get annoying, I'm sure. Onto the taste. The fry was fantastic on this chicken, y'all. The sandwich came with pickles, slaw, and some sauce that was perfect. The crunch was crunching, and the juice was juicing. Great acidity from the slaw and pickles, and the richness of the chicken was fantastic. Textural flavor wonderland. Much to enjoy there. I also liked the thighs a lot. They were super tender (as they should be), and we got them a lil mo' hot, because I wanted to feel at least a little alive. Great cook as well and the breading was perfectly crisp and shattered in my mouth. Beans were pretty liquidy, but tasted great and porky. The standout side was the broccoli salad, though. It was super refreshing with the raisins and parmesan cheese. What a combo! If you're debating on sides, this is probably the one to get! What are you waiting for? Tumble22 must be the chicken for you!

I've never actually gotten the sandwich here before but I did this one time to see how it all comes together. Usually I just go straight to the "Star of the Show" and don't bother myself with any distractions like bread or sides of any sort. But hey, this was a great experience. I can surely understand how folks come in for the sandwich all the time and love it. It may even be better than just chicken itself all the time because the sides + burger/sandwich construction lends itself to nicely balance the meal. Service was as good as you'd expect at a fast food chicken joint with good ol southern hospitality. Great and great. We came here during lunch time so it was a bit of a rush but not too much that the staff slowed down or our meals came out late. I will definitely be back here again when I can. Love me some hot chicken!

Looking for a quick meal while in Austin over the weekend and Tumble 22 gave us a chance to sample another Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. The crowd today was the hard working class, mainly men, that were more than capable of handling this very generously sized sandwiched. The huge portion of chicken requires compression in order to get your mouth around the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The wood framed building reminded me of a beach house. Our friendly waitress welcomed as a first time diners with a complimentary deviled eggs appetizer. We also followed up with OG Southern Nashville Hot chicken sandwich with bread and butter pickles, Duke's mayo, creamy slaw on a potato bun. The deviled eggs were good with a crispy bacon wedge. The OG Southern Nashville Hot chicken sandwich was good but not as flavorful as I had expected. The chicken was moist, slaw was tangy and the pickles had a good crisp crunch. Tumble 22 tautes itself as a good hot chicken stand and are true as advertised. The lunch crowd was packed with mainly big hungry working men. This clientele is very loyal. The sandwich and deviled eggs were good but just not memorable to me. It is hard to argue though with a crowded restaurant of happy eaters. Tumble 22 produces a good chicken sandwich.

Food: 9.9/10 hands down some of the best hot chicken in Austin. Not too salty not too bland, if you're from Louisiana you probably had better chicken so disregard my comment everyone this place is fire! Service: Great & Nice Ambiance: so chill but busy, thankful unlike Boston there's so much room.

The food was amazing. Everything had a great flavor and was cooked to perfection. The spice levels were accurate compared to their advertising. The customer service was very good. The manager and servers were outside laughing and giving the customers complete hospitality. One of the best customer service I have experienced in Austin. There really wasn't any negatives to this experience and that is why this place will always be one of my favorites in town. The only negative about the experience is trying to find parking. It is best to go during odd hours because it will be a decent walk to get there!

Came out for a bikers meetup, and they picked the perfect place! The parking lot setup was good for them displaying their bikes. The service was awesome, we had a large party and they did a great job accommodating us. The food was on point! Our first time here and the menu was easy to choose from, wasn't too spread out. We will for sure be back- too much good stuff to try it all!

    Fantastic Chicken Tenders
    Armand D.

I have been driving by this place a few times a week. Hungering for some fried chicken this evening I tried to order online but the site had a glitch...so I drove up and ordered from host. OMG! These Chicken Tenders were the best I ever had. I ordered the 3 pc and was surprised at the size of the order. I went with Mo' Hot which was the perfect blend of spices. A little hot but not too much. I opted for BBQ and Ranch for my two dipping sauces. The chicken tenders were thick and juicy. Unlike some flat ones any other places. Excellent fast service and food. I will be back for more!

I absolutely love the vibe of this place--it's definitely a high-end Mediterranean restaurant, perfect for special occasions. What really stood out was how beautifully everyone was dressed; it added to the upscale, elegant atmosphere of the entire space. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor seating area, which really elevates the overall experience. The outdoor space, in particular, adds to the charm and makes it a great spot for a relaxed yet upscale evening. Since reservations weren't available, we decided to arrive early, expecting a long wait. Luckily, being a Sunday evening, it wasn't too crowded, and we were seated within about 20 minutes. For drinks, I ordered a Tender Robot Hazy IPA, while my husband went with the Verdant Mai Tai. I was a bit disappointed to learn they only serve canned beer and don't offer draft options, as I personally prefer draft beer and am not a big fan of cocktails, which tend to be too sweet for my taste. For the main course, I had the Heirloom Chicken Thighs, and my husband ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Both dishes were cooked to perfection--flavorful, well-seasoned, and the meat was incredibly tender. That said, the portion sizes felt a bit small considering the price point. We ended the meal with the Sticky Date Cake, and it was hands down the best I've ever had--rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a great experience. Between the beautiful ambiance, flavorful food, and exceptional service, it's a place I'd definitely return to. I'm giving it 4 stars mainly because of the lack of draft beer and the smaller portion sizes for the price, but it's still a fantastic spot worth visiting.

The cocktails were delicious, although definitely on the pricey side. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. The portions were extremely small, and the prices felt very steep for both the quality and the amount served. While the presentation was nice, the taste simply didn't justify the cost. On top of that, having to pay $15 for valet added even more to an already expensive evening. Overall, Nido is worth visiting once for the views and a cocktail, but I personally wouldn't return for dinner. There are plenty of other spots in Austin that offer much better value for the price.
