We experienced them when they were at The Yard after hearing and seeing some of their incredible photos on IG and boy oh boy these boys didn't disappoint! From their super friendly service to the freshness of their food, get ready to take your taste buds on a journey! We tried a mix of their staples and specials -- from the crispy, charred Brussels sprouts to their fresh, flavor-packed salad, the crispy juicy chicken cutlet sandwich and the star of the show, the Woodneck falafel sandwich that completely won us over (and that's saying something coming from two meat lovers). Everything tastes as good as it looks. You can tell they're passionate about what they do -- everything feels intentional, from the seasoning to the sourcing. They even use freshly harvested veggies from their own garden when in season, which makes the food taste that much better. We haven't been to their new location at The Dainty Armadillo YET, but we already know it's going to be just as epic. Woodneck is one of those rare spots that truly cares about quality, freshness, and creativity which you can taste in every bite! Woodneck Kitchen is located on the Dainty Dillo patio. Gonna start by giving a huge shoutout to the guys who own/work there. SO SUPER NICE & FUNNY! The food is freaking good, friends. When they tell you the $5 basket of well-seasoned fries is enough for two people, listen to them. This was definitely a case of "eyes bigger than stomach". I ate maybe six fries from my basket while my boyfriend put a substantial dent in his. I had the cheeseburger on a sub roll and ate the whole darn thing! In all honesty, we should have shared a basket of fries and the burger. The beef was seasoned and cooked to perfection allowing all of the burger toppings to converge together in my mouth for a flavor explosion. Boyfriend had the falafel sandwich; double patty. I guess I have to be the first person to give this place less than 5 stars, which makes me sad, but it just didn't quite hit the mark for me. The Poor Joe is one of their signature sandwiches, and the chicken cutlet was so thin I could barely taste any chicken. Is that the point? You're "poor" so you don't get much chicken? It felt more like a breading-and-arugula sandwich, and the ciabatta was dense and borderline stale. It's cool that they give you a mountain of fries, but I would've loved a half-portion at half the price. And they were a little heavy handed with the seasoning. I like a cajun fry, but these tasted over-salted for me. Service was friendly, and it's clear they use fresh ingredients. I promise I'm not dogging this spot just because it's in a bar with an A&M and Eagles flag out front. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but for me it was solid, just not 5-stars. read more

F***ing amazing Local biz owned by dudes from Massachusetts. Great sandwiches we met the owners during our meal, and were satisfied by the service and attention to detail. All of the sandwiches are original in house recipes and is giving Snarf's a run for its money. it is RARE for me to find something that is actually taste good and AMAZING in Austin. Very basic b looking sandwiches but it taste incredible. They use some fun twist/ ingredient that is surprisingly blend in well with the sandwich. The toast is crunchy, tons of meat and flavors. When I came the menu is very basic, just 4 sandwiches, perhaps it is best to master what they are already doing !! Located just in side the dainty Dillo (take a left as you come in) and wow! Feel silly it's taken me so long to try them out! Super quick and friendly service. Got the falafel sandwich - perfect size and the texture was great on the patties. Loved all the lettuce and the sauce had just a hint of spice that brought it all together. Took my order to go, but plenty of space if you decide to stick around. Parking might be difficult on the weekends. Overall, great experience and will be back! read more

THE FALAFEL SANDWICH!!! almost like a vegetarian smashburger but calling it that doesn't do it justice - it's crispy, flavorful, with a hint of sweetness. it's not doing too much, but just enough. i was also very pleasantly surprised by the turkey sandwich! i am not a turkey girl by any means, but would 100% get this again and again. it's also not as heavy as the falafel sandwich, and the apple slices are so crisp and refreshingly sweet. the chicken cutlet was still amazing, but i preferred the other menu items. if i had to nitpick, the fries are a tad too salty for me (my partner thinks the same), but yummy regardless. as a fry lover, even i have to say it's a massive serving (and for just $5!) we've been here twice within the past week - that's how good these sandwiches are!! read more

WOW! Simply amazing. The sandwiches are the very best in Austin, hands down!! My wife is vegetarian, so we love coming to this food truck as we can both chow down big time! Every ingredient they put in their sammies brings such an amazing flavour that blends so well. The two guys that run it are so sweet-- the nicest dudes and so friendly. I really love this food truck-- such a cool spot, and the artwork on the truck is so fun. I love the location too-- being right next to the winery you can grab a glass and pair it with lunch! It had been a while since we had visited the Austin Winery and the timing was just right for some food so we decided to give this little food truck a try. After a little order snafu (it happens!) we were treated to a fantastic treat with the Woodneck Smashburger and the Poor Joe along with their amazing salad. Everything was spot on! All of the textures you'd want were there - the sandwiches were crunchy, juicy and the salad was fresh and crispy.
