This order was delivered to us for a catering event. The ordering process was smooth and efficient while also being delivered at the scheduled time. For fifteen people, the total cost was $425.69. This included delivery costs and taxes, but no tip. It consisted of three meats, two sides, and a dessert along with pickles, onions, bread, and BBQ sauce. There was also a set of utensils delivered, but plates were forgotten, but not a big deal. Brisket - This was definitely the best item eaten of the day. It was tender and juicy while adding the BBQ sauce giving that extra bite. The BBQ sauce was great regardless, a little bit of sweet and smoky flavor going on. Pulled Pork - This was another solid meat choice. I did not think it was as tender as the brisket, but it was still enjoyable especially with that BBQ sauce, which was key throughout the meal. Sausage - This was not bad. The snap on this threw me off a little, but it was not too bad. They were large links and had plenty of flavor. Gouda Mac & Cheese with Smoked Bacon - This was actually penne pasta with little pieces of the bacon. I actually preferred this pasta choice here. It really soaked up the cheese sauce. The sauce was not too over powerful and was just right. Beans with Smoked Bacon - These were not too bad. I thought they were a little liquidity, but the added bacon pieces definitely helped. Banana Pudding - This came in individual cups, which was nice. The pudding was thick with a little meringue or whipped cream present and a few wafer cookies on top. It was a satisfying ending to a very good meal. Will I go back? Yes. read more

After a little too much of a Sunday Funday while I had some friends in town visiting, we were all in need of some food in our bellies. Luckily right across the street was the food truck park so we all went for our food of choice. I was in the mood for some bbq and opted for a sausage wrapped tortilla plate with a side of mac n cheese topped with pulled pork. Everything came out in a timely matter and it was super tasty. Team was super friendly and I wouldn't mind coming back if I was in the area. read more

I was at the Austin Rodeo and looking for something good to eat. While most food items there are fried whatever's I spotted this food trailer. I never seen it before and wanted to try their bbq. Great looking trailer and waited in line to order. I decided get a sliced brisket sandwich with chips. Apparently there were not allowed to sell drinks at this event but I was already planning to get a beer at the craft beer tent. Soon my food was ready and looked great. I took it into the craft beer tent and ate it. The bbq tasted great and was very moist. I was impressed and glad I made the decision to order my lunch here. I am sure will find them somewhere around Austin to try something different, and the guys working inside are super friendly. read more

We hit up this trailer after I showed my cousin the ins-and-outs of downtown all day. We needed a little grub after the cocktails. We ended our downtown crawl on Rainey and decided to hit up Gebby's. The gentlemen running the place are really nice. I explained my cousin's food restrictions (in regards to their sides), and they recommended the coleslaw. Everything was delicious. I can't speak to their sauce (cousin's food restrictions), but my goodness! We wolfed this meal down like we hadn't eaten in days. Their brisket was phenomenal and the slaw was great. It's definitely an underrated spot that deserves more credit. We really enjoyed everything! read more

To be completely honest. I have never eating at Gebbys unfortunately. However, my name is Gebhardt and everyone calls me Gebby. When I was in TEXAS Gebbys wasn't open. I obviously wanted a t-shirt. So I reach out to the owner and asked for one. The guy sent me a t-shirt, hat and stickers all the way to NJ. They say food is how certain people express their personality. If this guys food is 1/2 as good as his customer service he should get a 10 star rating. For that reason alone. Find this guys food truck and show him the same love that he showed me. read more

Grabbed a quick chicken sandwich from Gebby's on a chilly Saturday afternoon. Service was friendly and relatively quick. Only a few tricks were open, so it made each one a little busier. Sandwich was juicy and had good flavor, though it mistakenly thought it was going to be pulled chicken. Either way, it was good for a quick bite. read more

OoOoh, yummy yummy! After having a really late lunch, I just needed a little snack to act as a base before we hit some bars. As I was looking around at the different food truck menus, I saw that this one offered tacos. That sounded like the perfect light bite to have before going out so I ordered their BBQ chicken taco. Oh man, it was delicious! It was a nice size. The tortilla was good, the chicken was not all greasy and drenched in BBQ sauce. It was a nice, smokey cut topped with coleslaw for that nice crunch. Thanks for the quick fix, Gebby's! I would definitely come back again. read more

We had Gebby's catered for a wedding recently. When we had our tasting prior to, I was almost skeptical because the BBQ was just SO good I assumed we were just getting shown the best of what they had. Come time of the wedding, I'm pretty sure the food was even better. We received almost as many "hello's" from guests as we did compliments on the food. :::Food trailer at steampunk review::: The good: So I was hungry on west 6th so figured I'd give this food truck a try. The service was very friendly. The bad/okay: I ordered the plate with 1 meat and 2 sides. Got the chicken since my first pick was not available (sausage). Chicken was over seasoned and the plate came with a small meat portion. My 2 sides were beans (pretty good) and Mac & cheese. Mac & cheese is extra although it wasn't mentioned on the menu and I really don't know why. It was okay but not worth the extra cost. read more

I highly recommend the chicken tacos! I got them with no coleslaw because I'm picky so it was just chicken in a tortilla and I was worried it would be too plain. It was sooo good! The tortilla was fresh and the chicken was plump and juicy. I still salivate thinking about it. The service was friendly and smiling while taking my order and I was shocked how fast my name was called. Did I mention the side of Mac and cheese??? Omg! Sooo good, with cheesy, soft, long noodles and tiny chunks of bacon buried throughout the cup this was one of the best lunch combinations I have ever had. It was filling and cheap too! Four dollars for the taco (other meat options as well) and two dollars for a generous side of Mac and cheese. I will definitely be returning and you need to check it out too. read more

I cannot speak for the catering, but the food truck itself is pretty good! I think got the bacon gouda Mac and cheese and the chopped brisket sandwich. The bacon on the Mac n cheese wasn't anything special- I would recommend just getting the normal Mac!! Still pretty good. The brisket taco was good, but nothing special. I think it would be a great catering option. read more

I decided to eat there because it was the nicest looking truck in the park. However i was very disappointed with a lot of things. Ordered the ribs and lemonade. Very little food for $17 dollars. The food was warm not hot. And i think that $2.5 for a lemon flavor koolaid its a bit pricey. They were also out of half of the meats. The people were friendly , the truck looked nice and i got a Tshirt for checking in but probably won't be going back. read more

Overpriced. Two supermarket eight pack grade hot dogs (just the dog and a supermarket bun), a sausage wrap (just a sausage and a tortilla) and the smallest and blandest chicken sandwich (you guessed it, just a piece of chicken and a bun), two waters and a can of coke... $25. None came close to a full meal. Nothing special about any of the items. They asked for reviews, sadly I can't give a good one. I guess the only reason they get two stars is because they were one of two trailers open at 5pm when the park says it's open until 7pm. read more

Average. Pulled pork sandwich had plenty of meat. But chopped brisket (it was cubed, weird) seemed salty and over sauced. Gouda Mac & cheese was clumpy and bland, not cheesy. Tasty BBQ! We visited the food truck on 360 with our Passbook coupon book. We tried the chicken and pulled pork plates, both with mac and cheese and beans. The pulled pork and beans were delicious! Man idk where to start! They have the best BBQ in Austin Texas!!! Bold statement I know. But I ordered the Big John, and it was a hell of a treat. It was a Brisket and Sausage Sandwich that was incredible. When I say better than Rudy's and any bbq place around I am not playing. Brisket just fell apart it was so juicy and on top of the Sausage was amazing as well. Top it off with their BBQ sauce and it's, in the word of my best friend Ashton, " it's Bar "F'in" none " . History

Established in 2015.

Our Pitmaster, Chris, has had the passion to push smoke since his college days. A handful of his friends decided to join Chris in his dream of having his own BBQ business and as of today our goal is to be one of the premier BBQ places in the Austin and San Antonio area. The name, Gebby's, actually originated with his grandfather who was a WWII fighter pilot and his call sign was Gebby so the name is solid.

Cold. I bit it a second time because I genuinely couldn't believe it. Meanwhile, the rice was so hot it was still visibly steaming from what I can only assume was a microwave, drowned in a watery gravy I never asked for, next to the old cabbage with solidified liquid. I brought the plate back to the counter, explained the chicken was refrigerator cold, and asked them to reheat it. I'm writing this today with an upset stomach. I wish I could say this was a one-time issue. It's not. I've been trying this restaurant, on and off, for over 15 years, and I kept giving them chance after chance because I wanted so badly for it to be good. I first met the owner when he ran a food truck, before the restaurant existed. I was excited; there weren't many Jamaicans in Austin at the time, and I was happy to support one. The rice and peas was so bad I threw the plate away. Years later, I tried the restaurant location. I ordered curry goat, took it to my car, and found the meat flavorless, fatty, and poorly trimmed; basically inedible. I threw it away in the parking lot. I later ordered oxtail through Uber Eats: flavorless again, poorly prepped meat, and an actual rock in the rice and peas. I tried introducing the child to Jamaican food with one of their beef patties, and it was dry and flavorless. Yesterday I ordered the "safest" thing on the menu, brown stew chicken, specifically because I no longer trust myself to spend real money on anything more ambitious here. I still got food that had clearly been microwaved and reheated unevenly, served with a piece of chicken that was still cold. Are we really selling microwaved leftovers out of an established restaurant with a huge kitchen? Jamaican food is something our culture takes real pride in. This restaurant has had a decade and a half to get it right, and instead I've watched it consistently cut corners on seasoning, on prep, and now on basic food safety. I don't say this lightly: if you want real Jamaican food, this isn't where you'll find it, and depending on the day, what you're served may not even be handled safely.

I thought I had tried it all, good BBQ, bad BBQ, and everything in between. But Gebby's took my experience to a whole 'nother level. Let's start with sauce. I'm a sauce boy through and through. You will never find me eating without some type of sauce to spice up my diet and life. In simple words, I know sauces, and Gebby's spicy BBQ sauce scores a 10/10 on my official Sauce Boys Ranking System. The only problem with the sauce is I didn't have 5 more bottles. Now, let's talk meat. First meat I tried was the pulled pork. The pork was juicy, tender and certainly left me in a state of Hog Heaven upon completion. Next up was chicken. I have always been most critical and cautious of chicken from BBQ joints as I feel most places treat it as an after-thought. Not Gebby's. This chicken was simple yet impeccable. Nothing fancy, because chicken doesn't need that. It was perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and poised for some sauce and a mouth party. Next topic, brisket. If you are a BBQ joint and don't have solid brisket, just pack up and leave. Luckily for us, Gebby's brisket is here to stay. This brisket had the perfect balance of fatty flavor and tender meat, which can be a tough thing to balance. I have had good brisket, and this was everything I expect from a BBQ place and more. This brisket is now the standard. Last but not least, sides. I had the pleasure of enjoying both the Gouda Mac n' Cheese and the beans. Mac n' Cheese is easy to make, but hard to make stand out. But knowing Gebby's, of course the dish was elite. The smoky bacon works so well with the cheese and if you add a little spicy sauce, it's 100% go time for the taste buds. Regarding beans, I will be truthful and say that beans for me are rarely on my list of sides to order. Luckily, I didn't live by that code today. I had seconds and thirds of these beans for lunch, and then fourths and fifths for dinner. If beans keep me coming back, they must be good in my opinion. I am so pleased with my Gebby's experience and hope this review will encourage more people to try it out. This BBQ is hands down some of the best I have every had and I cannot wait to get more. This place is the real deal. read more

I had the pleasure of working with the staff at Gebby's BBQ during one of the larger events held in Austin, TX each June. Gebby's joined our event as a food sponsor/vendor and wowed us from the jump. They served our hungry staff of 250 a delicious lunch consisting of Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Cole Slaw that just blew us away. Chris and his staff made things very easy for our busy staff by serving us in a very professional and organized manner...always with a smile and a great sense of humor. Along with serving our staff, Gebby's served thousands of attendees from their location in our concert area. Trust me, our staff tried all of it and it all is fantastic. From the brisket to the ROT wrap, each offering was served in a professional, courteous manner that was surpassed only by the quality of the food! We love Gebby's and look forward to working with them again at the 2016! Smoke on boys! read more

Excellent food and equally great customer service! If ever there was a food truck to try, this is it. Not only do you get great food but the service is excellent. Brisket is top notch. Good bark, great flavor, great texture, they know what they are doing. I tried pulled pork, also excellent. If you are like me and you find good brisket then you keep getting brisket. Again, I can't stop with the brisket or I would try these other options. Sides have all been really excellent also. I will definitely go back to this place! read more

The weather was unbearably hot which also affected our visit because we couldn't eat outside. The issue: The dining room is small and can only hold so many people. So we stood there with food in hand (kinda in the way of the workers and other patrons) waiting for people to vacate. Part of the problem was there were two tables occupied without any food and they were just talking. At other places, this is awesome. But a place with limited seating: nope! So our food was cold and the grits congealed while we waited to sit down. The service: all of the staff we interacted with were kind, friendly, and helpful. They were a highlight of our visit. The sides: We had the Green Chili Grits and the Potato Salad. Both were excellent but the potato salad was maybe the best I've ever had. For me, it was perfection because it wasn't too "wet" and the dill was just a fantastic add. The meats: We had the beef brisket and the sausage. Both were very good. I preferred the sausage but maybe just got a less than perfect piece of the brisket. The parking: also not great. There is street parking but also a back lot they direct you to off of Springdale. But they don't really have a safe/marked path to get you to the building. Just loose gravel where you're at risk of an ankle sprain. Maybe they will consider expanding the inside space?
