We just had a horrible dinner at a restaurant downtown and paid way too much for it and were still starving so we headed over to Rainey street to grab some good grub. We ordered some cheeseburgers and sat at their picnic tables chatting with other peeps around the area. What a cool place might I add. I love this concept and how it is surround by all of these cute bars in cute houses. We got our food and sat down. Mine was phenomenal!! Juicy, tender, dripping all over my hands. It was exactly what I needed. I devoured my burger in a blink of an eye. I would highly suggest this awesome truck. I would like to try some of their turkey options also. Potato cheesy rounds were the game and if you like savory foods after a night out on Rainy Street or just hungry, this could be your place. It's filling and delicious. And like I said try their cheese rounds, can come with or without cheese with a side for dipping. Lively street with bars, doesn't have a whole lot of seats, but there are a good number of them. If you're from Austin Texas and know your way downtown, parking can sometimes be its own obstacle especially on those busy nights. Some are paid and some not, all you got to do is look. How could I not give GG 5 stars. What a delicious surprise at my local brew pub. If you know me you know I'm not a turkey burger kind of guy, but... The description of local, organic, and natural just about had me. Then I read the description lean, white meat turkey, mixed with organic veggies, topped with a thick slice of Antonellis white cheddar cheese.. I'm all in baby. You have to get a side of their organic potato rounds. These bad boys are head and shoulders above your typical French fry. Come to think of it these guys are light years ahead of our friendly fries. The Brussels sprouts were so burnt and overcooked I was eating charred blackened leaves. It tasted awful. The dipping sauce was also not good. I also had the grill chicken salad. It was bland, the dressing wasn't tasteful, again bland nothing special, am tasted like a commercial dressing nothing homemade. I asked the guy to mix the sauce with the greens and he said it comes with two sides of sauce. That's not what I wanted. My buddy had the burger and it was just ok. Decided to try Gobble Gobble for a quick dinner on Rainey. We ordered the Spicy Turkey burger and the veggie burger. The spicy entree was anything but. The bread was good, turkey was cooked well. However it lacked any strong flavors. Maybe some spicy or curry ketchup would do the trick. Veggie burger suffered from same problems. Dull, lacking flavor. You will get better options from Bouldin Creek or Whole Foods. Potato rounds were excellent, especially with the buttermilk dill dipping sauce. My only issue, nearly a third of our rounds were not throughly cooked. With ok taste and average size, at $11 for the spicy turkey and $10, the food doesn't justify it's costs. Gobble Gobble did excel in service and employs a staff that seemed to truly care about their customers. read more

Came back to give these guys another go after the owner generously reached out. On a less than perfect day these guys still put out a really solid meal with quality ingredients and on a normal day they really eclipse the competition. The bun was really nicely toasted, and the fresh greens atop the burger had a nice bright and tangy vinaigrette (I think) that brightened up the flavor and it seemed to be a more juicy and moist overall burger for it. The patty itself was perfectly cooked and loaded with fresh red bell pepper, parsley, and other veggies and made the burger significantly more hearty & flavorful that your typical plain ground meat patty. The potato rounds are like a hybrid potato chip/fry and were just as excellent as the first visit and really are a unique twist on the fries you get everywhere else, and I love the dipping sauce and even got an extra to dab the burger in. The quality ingredients are really evident here and they care about customer service as well. Win win! Check them out. read more

We were so excited to see this at Luster Pearl South. Sadly, by 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday, they were sold out of everything but the potato rounds. The guy at the front window was so rude... He waited until we walked up to order, leaned forward with a pad in his hand, and as we begin asking about the burger, then the turkey burger, then the salad with turkey patty, he answered each time "I think we're pretty much out of that. Finally I asked what he wasn't out of and he said "Pretty much out of everything except the potato rounds". He could have easily said as we were walking up "Sorry ladies, we're pretty much out of everything" and saved everyone the time and frustration. I'm a pretty big beef-burger guy, but I have to admit the turkey burger they made was pretty good! You could really taste the cheese, and the patty itself was not too dry like most turkey burgers out there! Felt like they could have seasoned it a bit better for more flavor though. The potato rounds tasted fantastic however! Delicious flavor, but a little too oily for my taste. Considering all their ingredients are organic, and the food really did taste high quality, I felt $12 was fair for what I got. Tried the turkey burger when this food trailer was at Austin Beerworks. All burgers go great with beer and this was no exception, but perhaps more healthier than the usual. The turkey patty is mixed with veggies and spices and was delicious all by itself, but was even better with the Antonelli's white cheddar on top. Loved the add of fresh arugula as the salad topper. Pretty cool that someone stepped out to take my order instead of the usual experience of speaking into a dark black hole where you can't even see who you were talking to. Super friendly and outgoing. The food truck looked very well kept and clean which is important for food trucks. The gentleman that greeted me was very friendly. I got the turkey burger that ran me about $10.50, no sides. The wait was quick. The burger was gone in about 4 bites, it was pretty small, but very tasty. They use local ingredients, I believe the cheese was from Antonellis. Best food truck on Rainey, the staff are incredibly friendly, the food hits every time and the pricing is very reasonable (they could honestly charge much more). During quarantine they were the only food truck on Rainey taking orders that i can recall and after the big ice storm they gave away a few hundred turkey burgers for free to support the community.
